Chase’s escape to a tropical island isn’t just geographical it’s emotional, mental, and at times, spiritual. And just when you think you’ve figured out where it’s all going… in comes Kane. This book caught me totally off guard in the best way. What starts as a financial burnout story quickly spirals into a psychological thrill ride full of mystery, island secrets, and emotional unraveling. Chase is the kind of character you can’t look away from: brilliant but broken, rich but lost, and completely unaware of just how deep he’s about to go both literally and metaphorically.
Nate Wilson does a great job balancing the high-stakes mental pressure of corporate life with the eerie, almost surreal calm of island living. But don’t be fooled by the palm trees and ocean breeze. Something darker is brewing beneath the surface. Kane is the perfect wild card: enigmatic, wise, and just a little unsettling. Every interaction with him raises more questions than answers.

I legitimately couldn't wait to finish reading this book! I would get annoyed whenever anyone would interrupt my reading time haha. Stayed up waaaayy past my bedtime with my book light multiple nighs. The kind of book that leaves you hanging on until the very last moment ! A must read :)
