Paranormal Prison

Blindly Acquitted

Rate this book
The title "Queen of the Labyrinth" doesn’t come with a crown. It comes with a bright red target on my back. There’s a hit list circulating the prison offering up large sums of cash for our deaths—me and all of my men. Assassins, serial killers, and murderers... They’re all coming out of the woodwork to collect their prize.Even a queen and her kings can't fight off an entire army.Escape is our only option if we want to survive. No one has ever made it out of the Labyrinth alive, not with the deadly traps and cold-blooded monsters roaming the tunnels. And if that isn’t enough, we also have new challenges to contend with—mysterious voices, a door that likes to disappear, and a new guy with interesting abilities trying to insert himself into our lives.Either we die as shunned royalty...Or we die fighting for our lives. This time around,I think we might actually leave Nightmare Penitentiary in body bags. This is the 130,000 word sequel to Blindly Indicted. You must read Blindly Indicted in order to understand this book. This contains strong language, sexual situations, and a reverse harem romance. The men in this book are all hardened criminals and extreme alphas who will do anything and everything for the woman they love. If you don't like your men a little psychotic and blood-thirsty—or a female painfully naïve and innocent who develops an inner strength and softness—then this isn't the book for you.

I didn't like this book as much as the first and one of my problems was the introduction of "2 additional heroes" for no apparent reason AND that they are only accepted as the heroine's mates right before the book ends! Like these two characters barely had any "screen-time" and it was like *boom* "I think I love you". Like ugh..already there were 6 mates initially and now you gotta add two more who have barely any role (barring one who happened to be prominent in their journey towards the end) especially after how well book 1 ended?! Nope.

Also I kept seeing this dialogue about "I jump at him knowing he will always catch me". Like reading it one time is pretty nice..but seeing it repeated over and over again? Ugh. I guess since there's 8 hero's the heroine needed to keep testing her mates' catching skills.😒

I stalked this book since it was announced as being written. I really did enjoy it but maybe a little less than I'd have liked and I think that's because of the addition of new mates. I mean Nina already had 5+ and so the newbies didn't feel as developed as I'd have liked. I did enjoy them all getting a real HEA and one that is outside of the prison, especially due to their 'situation.' I read through it so fast I can't even be sure what the entire plot was about aside from a hit-list being set for them all with Nina at the very top. It puts these already overprotective men into overdrive. Then again Nina is learning and developing her powers more and more and I loved seeing what else she can do such as hearing their thoughts etc, so she's not completely helpless. Good followup, sad to see the two book series end but the multiple epilogues made it all worth it.

Not sure about this one, the pacing was strange and everything felt rushed. I think this series needed a third book before it ended: adding two new characters without taking the time to introduce them to the reader and just having them « there » was a bit odd in my opinion, furthermore, the endgame with the bad guys wasn’t really satisfying because it happened so quickly. I wanted more world building as well because I still don’t understand how the world works outside of the prison. I don’t know, I’ve mixed feelings about this and that’s sad because the first book was really good, and for a PNR penitentiary book, the characters were able to obtain things way to easily and it didn’t even feel like they were living in prison, we didn’t even have a scene with the Warden.. pff 3 stars ⭐️

**Review of the whole series**
3.5 Overall, not bad, a fun PNR with a really awesome idea behind it.

I was really excited at the beginning, then it kinda dulled a little bit, but it was fun!
The whole premise is that **small spoiler** .

The guys are badasses. They're some of the most powerful beings in existence and, of course, they fall for our MC.

Is there chemistry? Yup, definitely. Action? More than you'd expect. Engaging plot? Kinda.

So, why not more stars? Well, the series as a whole fell a bit flat. It felt rushed at the end, and I was kinda waiting for more. Not sure if the universe continues, but this series is over and I was left with a ton of questions and the ending was too abrupt.

Would I still recommend it? Definitely! It was really fun, with soul and chemistry and stuff.

The best thing about this series is how KM keeps true to each character. Even as they grow they're the same people deep down. I'm adding this series to my "favorite" simply because of the characters....

I also though the twist on the Labyrinth was extremely interesting - its not where my mind was going at all but it makes complete sense.

Representation: Blind Heroine, Black Hero, Lesbian Side Characters, wlw side romance

Overall: 5-stars

I didn't really know what to expect with Blindly Acquitted but the reality far exceeded my expectations. The sequel fleshed out each of the characters, and while Rion annoyed me in Blindly Indicted, I really enjoyed his eccentricities in this book. It felt like Katie May found her rhythm with the characters. The Heroine, Nina, finally grows into her own; I don't mind the Mary Sue routine but FMCs are always more interesting when they show bit of moral greyness in their personality.

I also appreciated, considering the large harem, each of the men had their distinct personalities, and the Heroine had meaningful friendships that didn't revolve around her romantic relationships! Both are unfortunately rare in reverse harem romances.

Overall, I finished the book wanting more.

Safety Rating: Safe with Exceptions

Possible Triggers: Yes

4.5 stars.
I really enjoyed this second and final book. It was just as much fun and had just as much adventure and high stakes action as the first one, with the same crazy cast. With a couple extras that made everything very interesting.
My only tiny little complaint about the book, the same thing I thought about the first, is that I wish it had more group sex.
Don’t get me wrong, the sex scenes are hot and filthy and yet still somehow playful because of all of the different personalities. But. There was very little happening between Nina and more than one of her mates at a time, at least that we were told. Still more than the first book, but less than I was expecting and hoping for.
There Were parts throughout where they may have alluded to group activities, it was just more often that she was with them one-on-one.
Which is totally fine. It was still fun and sexy. But I also feel like a big draw to the reverse harem trope is the sex with multiple partners at the same time thing that usually ensues. And with how many mates she has I was hoping for a scene of total, utter debauchery that we just never got.
It definitely wasn’t so big of a deal that it made me dislike the books in any way. I just think it would’ve made the book even better.
Still going to be looking into more from this author as soon as possible. Hopefully her other books are just as entertaining and keep me just as glued to the words.

What a great way to end this story! I loved getting to read more about Nina and her men and appreciated that this author took the time to write about each guy, rather than pick a favorite and focus on him (as I’ve seen happen too frequently in this genre). Despite there being an additional 2 men added to the harem, I felt like this sequel helped tie up any loose ends and questions that I might have had after reading the first book. Also- the little slice of life at the end was such a nice touch. While I’m not a fan of pregnancies/children in reverse harem, it was super sweet of see the guys as dads.

We’ve gone from 6 guys to 8 in this book, somehow Nina has become even more of a Mary Sue. Apart from Kai, every relationship is based insta lust. I still don’t get what makes her so special that all the guys are losing their minds over her. DNF

I would like another book!

I enjoyed this book. Both of them, really, though I admit the first was much better to my mind. I e read in a couple other reviews that said the added love interests weren’t necessary, or seemed to just be thrown in. I did kind of get that sense where Nick is concerned, and think that there could have been more of a buildup on the attraction side from Nina for Logan. Still, all in all, this was a good follow-up story to the first. I’ll be honest and say that I would like another since there were questions that weren’t answered or things that were kind of glossed over or forgotten in both books:

What was the deal with the guy at the compound in the first book asking Nina about immortality?

What about Kai’s parents? You got a lot about Bronson’s mother and sisters but only knew that Kai was kidnapped as a child from the first book. Does he not have any interest in finding his family to reunite with them?

In the first book it was supposedly well known that NO ONE touched Cain because he would lose his shit and seriously injure or kill a person… but in this book it portrayed him as someone that would cower? What?

There’s the fight scene where Bronson chooses to enter into. In this book it makes it seem like both fighters survive (obviously, since Bronson loses due to a side bet that included sexual favors for Kai and Damien), but in the first book it was said that one of the fighters had to die. Did they change that rule up?

Dangerously addictive

Whew! What an ending to this duology! Book 2 picks up right where book 1 ends and the action doesn't stop. There is betrayal from the beginning and targets on everyone's backs. But also love and the bonds of family that only fire can forge. The author did an amazing job keeping the story going while also creating a way out for our crew. I loved how conflicted and real all of the characters are. The humor, the bickering, and the teasing are intrinsic to the story, and the author does an amazing job keeping it balanced. I'm sad this story is over, but so happy to have a new author to dive into, wonderful storytelling ability.

"A story full of pain and heartache. Of betrayal and regrets. Of fear and happiness. It’s a story of first love and old love, of friends and enemies."

Nina Doe, blind and sentenced to a supernatural prison, has found her soulmates and united two warring factions within the Labryinth, an underground maze that shifts hourly to prevent inmates from escaping.

But all isn’t copacetic as a secret hit list puts a price of $20 million on her head. Why does someone want to kill her and who is this mysterious voice in her head?!

Enter two more fated mates and a chance to escape becomes a soul shattering nightmare for Nina….And that’s when it begins to get slightly more cra cra then I could follow.

Still, high marks for entertainment and lots of sexy times with gorgeous ripped males that can only live in books!

Honestly not sure why I bothered to finish this book, I was ready to dnf it around 50%... Nina is the epitome of a Mary Sue character. Goddddd she is so annoying. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a sweet, innocent character but she is almost child like, it's fucking off-putting. Wtf was that scene after they escaped? Shes all of a sudden pulling out all these powers she's never even hinted at... and it's explained away that it's cause the baby... sureeee. How did she even get pregnant in the first place? It's never fully explained just guessed at. So many plot holes! Where did Rion get all those piercings when before it was only mentioned that his lip was pierced???? Also there are way too many MMC's.. eight?!!? The last two felt like an afterthought, although I did like Logan... It almost seemed like their personalities were lacking because there were too many of them, two jokesters, two grumpy characters, two protectors, two leftovers. Rion was so over the top that I honestly just skipped most of his dialog, whereas Bronston? Or whatever was so boring I also skipped his scenes. And the last guy she was with, Nick? He has absolutely no personality and we don't even "see" them fall in love :/. Add in the quirky cringe humor that I absolutely cannot stand and you'll see the reasons why this was a one star for me.

Don't even get me started on a skin tone being described as.... burnt porcelain..... WTF DOES THAT EVEN MEANNNNN. I honestly decided to Google it to see if it was like some obscure reference but nope just literal burnt porcelain dolls... like WHAAAAT??!?

I am so glad that Katie May followed up on Blindly Indicted because much as there was a happy reunion between Nina and her 6 men, they were still in prison and still at the mercy of that damn warden I hate. I craved to see this family interact more and especially when they’d earned their freedom. Plus, Nina and Abel still had yet to consummate their matehood. I missed them and wanted more closure to some of their back stories, as well as how they responded to the news that Nina could actually bear children, and I wanted to see Bronson’s family’s safety, and maybe even some more inaction between Sinclair and Rook with Nina and her guys. Plus, I really wanted to see Nina’s powers manifest even more, her abilities to step inside the head of any other living being and not just see through their eyes but start to hear through their ears, feel what they feel, and it was hinted that she might be able to control their body as well. She started to telepathically talk with her men more and I wanted to see more of that. Also, I wanted to see more of her manifesting her wings, demon horns, and superhuman strength. So, when Katie opens with many items from my grocery list just within the first 3 chapters, I am in reading heaven. I think Nina’s boys agree with me, at least Cain does:

“You know,” I begin softly, “this isn’t a place for Nina to live in. To start a family. And I’m not just saying that because of the fucking list floating around…”

The wrap up was semi satisfying. I could picture them all in

After that beautiful but dark semi HEA, I couldn't wait to get into the next book! No...it was pulling at me, I had no option but to read it. And heavens help me, THIS was even more intense than the previous book! Like, good grief TENSE! And fabulous. And compelling. And totally absorbing. And mesmerising. And...ok, you get my drift...

This book picks up seamlessly after the last book, the sense of belonging, the sense of home, the all engulfing love, is vibrant, tangible, I almost forgot they were incarcerated. Almost. I do so love these characters, my word, one would have to be a marrionette NOT to laugh at Rion's verbal antics, geez, he sure knows how to push buttons. But he's adorable, all the men are deadly adorable in their unconditional love of Nina. After WHAT they uncovered, Nina is in serious danger, no one knows from whom, no one knows why, all they know is that her life is threatened, someone wants her dead, badly. The need to protect her, keep her safe, just becomes a little more intense when they discover there's a price for her head. And then... pretty boy Logan enters the mix... To add to the mystery of, well, everything, not only Nina and who or what she is, what she's capable of, there's another layer thickly spread in this exceptional puzzle, a certain Nick. Geez are the stakes high! Geez is the intrigue desperate!

The reveal to her blindness was a jaw dropper, the why she is blind, but it's never stopped her from "seeing". With her amazing ability, her magic, she can "see" far more than the average person. She's used to the dark, she likes the dark, she's not intimidated by the dark. Yes, there's darkness lurking in all her men but, as she says, "I've learnt to accept the monsters that lurk in the darkest corner, I've even learnt to love them " She's one heck of a resilient cookie, who suffered immensely, who grew into a fiercely competent woman as her prowess expands. Did I love seeing the evolving of her magic, I was cheering her on, loudly! She's changing though, she still abhores violence and killing but she's no longer held back by doing what must be done. I really loved seeing her powers evolve, I loved seeing her liberate herself, mentally, physically, sexually, no fear for any of it. Her immense growth since I first met her, her entire being is one of kindness, care, love, protecting those she loves. Transforming into a true avenging angel to all who have hurt her, hurt those she loves. Their attempt to do the impossible, wrecked me, all the while my heart jolted as though the author was firmly holding a jackhammer to my poor organ. And then she did the Narian thing.... OMG! Just OMG! That was the mother of ALL twists!

I am REALLY impressed with this author's writing style, there's lot's of hardcore and gore, portrayed through both plot and characters, who, some at least, are almost languid in approach, as though nothing phases them, as though everything is a joke. Ruin, Abel and now Logan fall firmly into this category but underneath that joviality, there's a dangerous beast lurking. And yet, no matter how gory, no matter how violent these guys are, they've carved a place in my heart. No ... not with an actual knife, just by their mere presence, although they do have a certain "talent" with knives...but dear heavens, was I laughing at how the author turned an "education session" for the....finer things in life... into a raucous but very hot scene. I couldn't, for one second, have imagined that Ms May would twist it up as much as she did, I couldn't, for the life of me, see what was round the corner, until she very magnanimously allowed me to step round said corner, leaving me with an unhinged jaw at WHAT she exposed! Betrayal, recriminations, guilt, suffocating guilt from all sides, and finally, the coolest HEA anyone could ask for. So there you have it in a nutshell, there's an allure to this author's writing, yes,, there's plenty of spice, guts and gore but there's humour, found family, a love that's eternal, a warmth that settles in my body with the "right" of it all.

We are back in Nightmare Penitentiary and the boys are better than ever!
*****
Rating: 5 dragon, demons, mage, and shifter stars
Steam: 3.5 flames
Genre: PNR / Reverse Harem
*****
When I found out there was a sequel to Blindly Indicted, I was ecstatic! The world building, the characters, and the storyline was outstanding! Then I worried, could book two be as good as book one? YES! A thousand times YES!

Folks, we are back in Nightmare Penitentiary and Nina and her mates, Kai, Rion, Abel, Cain, Damien, and Bronson are all back and prepared to fight as the threats in the Labyrinth get more intense. There is a hit list circulating the Labyrinth and Nina's name is on the top…who can they trust? Who is responsible for the list? And why is Nina's name first on that list?

All the answers will be revealed as you are sent on an adventure in the darkest depths of hell, Nightmare Penitentiary, where only the worst of the worst go, or those that no one wants to ever see the light of day again. The twists and turns are as frequent as the ever-changing landscape of the labyrinth. There are betrayals you won't see coming, humor (OMG, "Dion" really), steam, and characters that each had a unique voice and never lost their voice throughout both books. Amazing characters, characters that we shouldn't love but can't help but love, even when they are ripping off a head or two. Blood is shed in this book in the most creative and horrific of manners, I loved it!

Nina, the Queen of the Labyrinth, and her Kings are going to have to make some hard choices during this book. Secrets will be revealed, hearts broken, tears shed, and hearts mended. It is a tumultuous ride, but a ride I am so happy I took!

This book was a perfect follow-up to the Blindly Indicted and I loved the ending! I never saw the final twist coming. If you are looking for a series with great characters, excellent storyline, twists, steam, fantastic world building and originality, I definitely recommend Blindly Indicted and Blindly Acquitted. Two incredible books!

Do NOT read this book if you have not read Blindly Indicted…this is not a standalone. A fabulous sequel that gets all my recommendations!

It was good, but still not as good as book 1. Though, I appreciate, that they get a real HEA and are out of prison. Even, if I logically know, they probably belong there. But I'm a fan of psychos and so on...

The additional mates. I'm not sure about that. It's not, that I don't like them. I do. Though, they aren't absolutely necessary for the story. But I find it terrible, that they nearly haven't any real time with Nina. Only the last 10 chapters solve the mate-situation and drama aside from that. Logan, at least, was constantly part of the story. Even though not in the foreground. Nick, on the other hand, was nearly non-existent, only appeared at the end. And in the epilogue. There should have been a lot more time, to build anything up. For both, Nick and Logan. But that is only my opinion.

Second, the follow-up don't solve all the mysteries of book 1. There are a lot of questions, that are still open. So, it doesn't feel well-rounded. It doesn't subtract anything from the series itself for me. I loved to see more about Nina and her guys. And seeing them being parents and the children. It was sweet.

But it could have been better. I don't know. It's just that it feels incomplete for me in some way.

Nice Sequel

This was pretty good. Some of the characterization was off from the first book.

Possible spoilers ahead:

Cain was scary when touched in the first book. He had meltdowns in this book.

Braelyn and her gf pledged to protect Nina in the first book. It seemed to be a big deal that couldn’t be unbroken. But, in this book, they were mere sidenote characters who didn’t even bother to help her escape because they were used to the “inside.” Yet later they escaped on their own? So much for their oaths, right?

Damien never really explained why he ghosted Nina for something like a week just for discovering she was pregnant. That was a weird mini plot.

I liked Nick. I would have liked him to have been more present, especially since he seemed to take over the innocent naive role.

The ending needed at least another full chapter. I’m actually invested in the child’s missing juice box. Why does she think her das sent it into space?

Why do we meet Bronson’s family, but not Kai’s? He was kidnapped at a young age. Wouldn’t he want to tell his mom he was finally okay? Other characters contacted people on the outside all the time. Why not Kai? Also, he said he was one of the last of his kind. Can he have another dragon with Nina?

Wow! Hot and entertaining throughout the entire series!

FIRST OF ALL, I laughed so hard on the last few chapters of this book. Last mate and the guys had me rolling! (Don't want to put his name and give out any spoiler)
I've read ALOT of supernatural romance novels and always forget to leave a review before moving on to my next one. Only a few times have I remembered to go back and leave a comment, but with this series I honestly couldn't move on before leaving my comment. First time reading anything from this writer as well and I'm NOT disappointed with my first read by her. This series may not be for everyone because it's not the traditional love story but man is it not a damn good one! I enjoy the horde romances that I've actually just recently started reading a few like this, this one takes the top favorite list for me. I enjoyed the deep dives into each character without it being to drawn out and the fact that they're not all picture perfect. Most of them being victims of circumstances causing them to be a certain way to survive. All in all I really enjoyed this read and hated for it to end but what a good ending to tie up all questions and loose ends without making it seem rushed or forced.

MCs:
Nina, Kai, Bronson, Damien, Abel, Cain, Rion, Logan & Nick

Subpar Synopsis:
Her entire life, Nina has been a prisoner facing unimaginable tortures and pain. When she escapes one hell, she soon finds herself landing in another called The Labyrinth, a supernatural prison. There she reunites with a fellow captive from her childhood, Kai, and his gang finding multiple mates and meeting new ones along the way. Though she is technically blind, her powers allow her to access the eyes (and more) of others to help her navigate and survive her new world.

Thoughts:
This duet was honestly just... fun. It wasn't anything special and I'm not sure if I'd really even be able to recommend it but for some reason I enjoyed it. All the characters had over-the-top quirks and oddities (looking at you, Rion) that you just embraced each interaction. The love and loyalty at a juxtaposition with the despair and self-loathing they each suffered kept me hooked. Nina, while simple, was just wholesome.

Overall Rating: 4.0/5 - I didn't want to put it down and both books had satisfying endings.

One word. Love it.
Okay, maybe two words.

Blindly Acquitted was something that many have asked for after the publishing of Blindly Indicted. I enjoy this as much as the first. In fact, I believe these series may have been her best work personally among all of it.
However I wish there was more of the back-to-back story leading to their first day in settling in the wolf pack at the end. It is rather upsetting to see the end a little rushed then I would have liked. I felt there was potential in a story in how the MC and her men settled into a somewhat civilized life especially Damon and her new men in her harem who were quite the character that I would love to watch their relationship develop even more. I felt it was too quick too soon to end.
If your thinking of reading this, keep it mind this will be both sweet, maybe even traumatic but overall a good read to give a try.
Should anyone have any recommendations to books similar like this ? Please leave a comment down below ! I would love to have a look at it

I was super excited to hear Katie was writing a sequel to Blindly Indicted, and it did not disappoint! This book picks up right where there previous book left off with Nina and her men as Queen and Kings of the Labyrinth. The gang discovers a prison hit list with all their names included and Nina’s right at the top. Left with no other options they try to become the first prisoners to ever escape the Labyrinth of Nightmare Penitentiary.

I adore Nina and her supernatural harem of badasses. In this book Nina is less naive with more confidence and sass. We are introduced to some new characters which brought some new drama and mystery to the mix. This book was excellent, with a fast pace and lots of twists and turns along the way. We also get a lot more steam in this book and loads of demon/shifter/mage/dragon hotness. Absolute perfect ending to the series. I highly recommend this duet for any paranormal romance lover!

she’s not the same naive Nina anymore..

*spoilers*

Still in prison, Nina has found that with her guys, this is her new home. But now they all have a target on their backs. After a close call with Nina, tensions are on the rise and the guys work tirelessly to find who put out the hit on them. There is also a new inmate that is determined to connect with Nina and a man that visits her in her dreams.. But that’s not the only thing… Nina now needs more protection than ever. It is decided that in order for their family to remain safe, they must escape the Labyrinth. Will they all make it out alive? Will they find out who put the hits on them and why? And why is this new inmate trying to get close to them…?

I loved seeing Nina find her inner strength in this sequel, that she would do anything needed in order to protect her guys from danger as they would do for her.

Blindly...

I don't want to be harsh but I felt this book dragged. There was so much packed in but we never really went far in the storyline until the very end. While Nina was an interesting character she was just a bit to naive and whiny to me. Don't get me wrong, she definitely had her bad a$$ moments but those were few. The guys... There were plenty. I liked how we got little back stories from most of them but I think because there were so many that some got lost in the shuffle. I was a bit let down that we didn't get much from the last 2 before the end of the story. Overall there was quite a bit of action and some steam thrown in. If you are looking for a large harem, painfully naive fmc, crazy\ over protective \ touch my woman and die type of guys, action, some steam...then you will enjoy this.

2.5 stars.

Book one was fun, and got me intrigued for the rest of their story, but this was a miss for me. None of the MC’s seemed to have a personality left, all they did was kneel at Nina’s feet - where are the badass political prisoners, worst of the worst? Nina is also the most guillible innocent and ‘not like other girls’ persona ever in this book, but then every once in a while they seem to remember she is the strongest being ever created and she performs murdery miracles that magically save them all but ‘break her soul’. I lost all the interest in literally any character book one sold to me. Also, two men get added to the harem in the last 25% for seemingly no reason at all? The setting and the concept are so cool and had so much potential. Maybe it’s just me but i really struggled with this one and i am quite disappointed.

This read made me so happy. Just because it’s such a fun group of characters. Bunch of dangerous possessive and protective assholes but still fun. Kai will forever be my number one. Kai forever🧡 Rion ran up to be my second. I liked the way the story went this time around. One sweet ass ending. Sex was on point as always. I loved the satisfying closed chapters for the guys. Really liked the new addition of characters and show casing more supernatural species. Nina has a growth but I like that she still has a sort of innocence and naiveness about her. I didn’t know a second book was coming but I couldn’t get these characters out of my head since I read the first book so glad it came to a closed in a second book I really was left wanting more after book one. Thanks Katie

Amazing ending ❤️❤️

I honestly had been waiting for this book because I loved the first one and was scared to read the second because I didn’t know if it would live up to the first. I was sooo wrong it was amazing! I loved the multiple povs it allows you to see everyone’s view point and I loved the way it was written. The anguish and the love you see for each character being built up even Logan allows you to truly see the ending and feel satisfied. The only problem I had was with nick I do wish he was introduced earlier and they had more of a connection before he had his physical form that would have made it feel even more complete. At the end of the day it had the perfect amount of drama, spice, and plot. I loved it!!

Okay.... sooooo I reallllllly liked the first book of this series so much, but this book wasn’t as great as the first.....

I think my feelings of disappointment are because:

It was a lot of the same from the first book.
The author introduced characters that weren’t really necessary to the harem.

I loved the first book because I felt like the story was so unique and the characters were SO loveable. However..... The second book didn’t really add much and it was kind of disappointing. I expected much more drama maybe or another twist and I didn’t really get that. I think I’m kind of bitter about who the villains were.... They were SO LAME!

I also didn’t understand why there were more men added to Nina’s harem. I mean usually I’m all for adding more men to the hot dog, but this time it didn’t make any sense.... Also, we didn’t get to spend ANY time with them so there was no character development... it made me sad because I think I would’ve liked the know more of their story.

Overall, I did like this sequel and the ending to the series, I just wish some things hadn’t been there.
