I read The Treasured Hoosier Cabinet by Claypool and was sort of sad the novella was so short I wanted more. I loved the Renew and Restore and the end of the novella. This is such an uplifting book and it would make a fantastic gift. I am recommending this one for sure. The Mary Reader received this book from the publisher for review. A favorable review was not required, and all views expressed are our own.
From the moment I saw the beautiful cover design, I knew I wanted to read Life, Repurposed! Pairing the distress of weathered lives with the purpose of God, Life, Repurposed grabs your attention from start.
Life, Repurposed is filled with the stories of ordinary women, who despite challenges in their lives, find the God-purpose within the heartache and struggle. Each story is packed with personal and biblical truth that transforms lives. As I read Life, Repurposed, I found myself walking along with these remarkable women as they faced challenges and situations similar to those I have faced in my own life. It was a comforting feeling knowing I don’t walk alone.
If you’re facing your own set of difficult circumstances and don’t see how God could use them for your good, pick up a copy of Life, Repurposed. You’ll be encouraged and reminded that nothing is wasted with God.
When I support a book, I want to make certain it would be a blessing to others, especially if I’m somehow part of it. This compilation of 34 unique stories written by 34 authors of varied backgrounds and life experiences is definitely one I can wholeheartedly recommend. It was compiled and edited by seasoned publishing professional, Michelle Rayburn, and the quality of the book is impeccable. The different accounts of God’s restoration and grace leave the reader with a sense of hope, and the questions at the end of each chapter offer an avenue to dig deeper in both a spiritual and practical way. I am honored to be among the authors in this anthology with my personal tale, “The Treasured Hoosier Cabinet.” I sincerely award this book 5 stars, believing there is something in it for every woman.
Thrift sale ninja Michelle Rayburn got her start in writing as a DIY blogger, repurposing her finds into home decor and then posting tutorials. It wasn’t long before she connected the dots between repurposed garden tools and the work God does when he renovates our broken lives into beauty.
As a work in progress myself, I was thrilled when I learned Michelle was collecting stories for a Life, Repurposed: Stories of Grace, Hope, and Restored Faith, a compilation of stories about the journey from grief to grace.
Whatever struggle you may be facting today, you’ll find a community of your people in its pages.
I love this book! Love having a book. IN An instant I can read an inspirational short story. A great pick up if you are down and need a re-set. Two stories that I especially enjoy in the book are The Treasured Hoosier Cabinet by Christina Ryan Claypool. A wonderful example of God's restoration and fullfilment. Also, Interrupted Plans and a Bypassed Blowup by Betty Predmore, is a wonderful story of God's intervention to the anger response. Kudos to Michelle Rayburn for compiling this collage of life stories.
The stories between the covers of this book give hope. They provide inspiration and insight. The women penning their own stories here have walked through difficult times. They’ve faced infertility, fear, health struggles, family problems, doubt, human trafficking, and loss. Each writer attributes her joy and contentment to the goodness of God and his work in her life. These personal accounts will encourage your heart.
I listened to the audiobook, and also purchased a paperback version in order to re-read some of my favorites.
