Second chance menage MFM romance between alpha dominant H's who are crazy about the feisty h. They had a ONS five months back but the skittish h ran out on the H's. When they meet again, the H's aren't letting the h get away. The thriller part about the underground poker tournament and the H's adorable 5 year old nephew was woven well into the romance and enhanced it. Only wished there were a bit more sex scenes, bcos the H's dominance was hot!
Adesso li voglio disperatamente. (Tratto dal libro)
From the cover of this book you would think it would be more spice heavy but it was actually very plot driven for the most part. Don’t get me wrong, there was spice but it wasn’t all spice all the time. I kind of found Gabby annoying at times with her “I’m an independent woman” and was refusing to ask her rich parents for help even though she owed a loan shark $100,000; putting herself at risk for having her knee caps busted. There was a lot of lead up to the drama but it sort of fell flat. The men were great! They were alpha and sweet; two of my favourite things. I hummed about what to rate this because it was a quick read and I liked the spice but there was just a few things that i didn’t enjoy; I settled on 4 stars which would have been 3.5 but I rounded up.
This one was fun to read! I'm glad that Gabby found the guys that she couldn't get out of her mind and how all of them after talking were great with taking up again. It was fun to see them work out their relationship, while working and the dramas they had in their lives. They quickly realized what was important and were able to do what was needed to protect who and what they considered theirs. Nice to see how it all ended for them.
Five months ago Gabriella did something that she never thought she would do... have a very titillating threesome. One that she still thinks of fondly and wouldn't mind having again, if only she knew where to look for those two alluring men.
But there is one thing she's been hiding from all those she loves, she's got a bit of a gambling problem. She's always been able to stay within her limits, but this time she's gone way, way, way overboard. Now she's in a pickle and needs to find a way out of this mess, so she'll go to the one place that she feels can help.... Atlantic City. What she didn't expect was to run into the two men that have been haunting her dreams.
Carter & Dominic have been friends forever and sharing a woman is nothing new, except the last woman they shared left a very last impression. She slipped away while they slept without a way to find her again. If there was a way to locate this mysterious woman, they would exhaust all avenues to find her.
Carter's life has just taken an unexpected turn, so he and Dominic are using all sources they have to make things right. The last thing they need is a distraction, but one just walked into their hotel. They bring her into their office and offer her a way out of her problem while helping them with theirs.
Their sizzling chemistry is just as off the charts as it was that one stunning night months ago. So with some down time between sting ops, what are these three supposed to do with all this sexual tension? But once their problems are solved, can they find a way to make this thressome permanent or was this just a passing fling?
This book is seductive and thrilling all wrapped up in a pretty little package. Carter and Dominic are tall, dark, and handsome. They are used to women falling at their feet, but they only have eyes for one woman. They are protective of her and will do anything and everything to make her happy. What more could you ask for from two strikingly swoon worthy men?
Gabriella is a strong, independent women that likes to handle situations on her own. Asking for help isn't her strong suit, even if her family and friends would help her in a second. She wants to make it own, prove to everyone that she's not just her father's daughter.
I love the connection they share, it's deep and meaningful. I love how they all have their issues, but work through them together to build a strong foundation for their love. Each bring a different dynamic that make this unique coupling very enthralling.
This is a great read to heat up your night and leave you yearning for more and maybe in need of a cold shower or two.
Tara Crescent is a brand new author for us and man are we glad we picked up this series. Having not read her before, we were excited and she did not let us down. We have a dirty little secret in the romance novels we read, we love m/m/f & m/f/m romances. The are so risque... taboo... naughty... but so delicious. And Tara? Knocked it out of the park.
The Playing For Love series is a three book series with standalone novels in each. We are introduced to three dynamic trios that bring steam, lust, love, intensity, and passion to the pages. The heat poured out of our kindles and lit up our panties. We swooned. We smiled. We laughed. We got angry. But most importantly, we fell madly, deeply in love.
In this second book of the series, we meet Dominic, Carter, and Gabriella. She is in a bit of jam so she is headed to a place she can work it out. What she doesn't expect is to run into the two men that she shared one steamy night with. Dominic and Carter haven't forgotten Gabriella but they have their own problem. Too bad their bodies can't say no.
Packed with suspense and steam, this book was even better than the first if possible. We fell hard for Gabriella... total girl crush! And her men.... sweet baby Jesus... crazy hot! Each one of them in this trio had their own demons but together, they were powerful and dynamic. Their journey was unforgettable. Three hearts. Three souls. One epic love story.
Gabriella finds herself on the losing end of a night of high stakes poker. She heads off to Atlantic City to try to make back enough money to pay off her gambling debt. Unfortunately for her the casino she chooses is owned by Dominic Crawford. Dominic along with his head of security/best friend, Carter Hughes, still dreams of a night spent in New York pleasuring a young woman that escaped their grasp the next morning. When they find her in their casino desperate to enter into their high stakes area, they make her an offer she can’t refuse. Gabriella will never forget her night spent with Dominic and Carter, but she knows she possesses a gift to turn even the best man into a total jerk after only a few dates. She doesn’t want to trust Dominic and Carter, but her looming debt, and the threat of a couple of broken knee caps if she fails to pay up leaves her little choice.
As always Ms. Crescent provides a slightly submissive, but still independent women. Throw in two dominant males and you have the making for a very good story. The menage scenes were hot. The author was very careful to give the two men different personalities and slightly different approaches to pleasuring Gabrielle. Ms. Crescent even threw in a kidnapping to add a little mystery to the story. I really enjoyed reading this story, and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I am a fan of this author and enjoy her work I read this inside a box set that I receive from the author in exchange for an honest review which was the more the merrier 2 I read the first book in this series and was very happy to read the second one where our main character the sexy Gabriella has more adventure than before I liked how the interactions are different in this one since they all cant seem to forget each one but in this one I surprised what happens when they all meet up again in a twist bizarre way which made me guess a lot and I enjoyed that also the sparks were flying everywhere between all the hotness there is but it also has its own emotional sweet side where things are hard but after the work the prize is worth it the second characters we great as well I cant wait to get my hands on the next once awesome work yay I recommend this to everyone
This was a great read. I love Tara Crescent books, she has a way of pulling you in and not letting you go until the last page - and sometimes it sticks with you long after you finish. In this story Gabriella, Carter and Dominic have a chance encounter five months after their one night stand. Cater's nephew is kidnapped by his father and Gabby needs $100,000 to pay off an illegal poker room gambling debt, can they help each other with everything that is going on and have some fun as well, yes, yes they can. Reading this book will cause a spike in your body temperature, so keep some ice nearby.
The Gamble is a second chance MFM romance with just enough drama, angst, off-the-charts chemistry, suspense, danger, and hot scenes to keep you turning the pages to see how the story unfolds.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
While I liked the first book in the series a lot, this one was rather weak and far fetched for me. Its almost like the author was trying too hard. There was too much going one.
The Gamble is the second book in the Menage in Manhattan series, but could be read as a stand alone. Gabby had the best menage experience seven months ago, but when she’s sent to Atlantic City for her job, she’s shocked to find Dominic and Carter, the two men she never expected to see again. The chemistry is still strong between the three of them, but between her secret, the need for revenge, and a hotel under attack, will love be their greatest gamble yet?
I really enjoyed reading this book! There was such a strong connection between Gabby, Carter, and Dominic that you could practically feel it outside of the pages! I loved that for all three characters, you could see their struggle to balance their outside lives with their new relationship, even if it just started as a release, and I really loved that after that initial night, no one could think of another partner! So powerful! Gabby knew she was privileged, but I loved her inner strength and drive to prove herself, even if that did mean taking chances while gambling. I liked that she was willing to give when it came to their relationship, but needed to learn how to take. Carter and Dominic were powerful and dominant, and I loved that they were so protective of everything they loved, even a hotel and all of its employees. I liked their friendship and I liked how much they supported one another. Their scenes were both steamy and emotional, and I loved all of the trials that they faced in order to face their future. I enjoyed reading this book, loved their connection, and look forward the next book in the series!
Tara has fast become a new favourite author of mine. I love her writing style, and although the stories are a little naughty and full of heat, the story itself is fantastic. I think I’ll be setting myself up read everything of hers...
Now.. the Gamble, I love her Billionaires and their domineering ways, but Dominic and darter had that Something else. Dominic owns and runs a very popular and successful casino, best friend Carter is head of security and step in dad to his nephew. The pair stare a great friendship, work relationship and a woman they met 7 months previous named Ella.
Fast forward, Gabriella, is in a world of hurt... she over 90 thousand dollars in debt from playing poker. She finds her self in Atlanta working PR with a famous pop star when she finds face to face with those 2 men.... and it’s explosive in first sight. They all have benefits to gain, but could it end in utter disaster? This time gabby isn’t getting away, these 2 men have waited to see her again, down they can return to that magic... but (Tyers always a but), Carter has a douchebag brother in-law to deal with, Dominic has to save his casino, and Gabby she’s got everything to lose.
Jump on the Gamble, it’s a poker game to keep you entertained, laughing and guessing yo the end!
10 November 2025 3 stars, it felt very silly - I don’t know if I read an old version of the book (while it was called Gambling with Gabriella) but the story was poorly developed and all of it felt very shallow and there was a huge flaw in the plan they devised to get Noah back, it was so obvious and stupid.
Gabby seems like she really has no sense, given she had such shitty boyfriends before that these men seem miraculous and her general approach to life seems really insane. She also has not told ANY of her friends about her gambling. It’s very difficult not to dislike her for being an idiot. And the men are no better developed. While their kid is kidnapped they’re just obsessed with being with this random woman.

Not as good as the first one, but... Gabby gambles her savings on a poker game, but loses. (She's trying to set up her own PR company and doesn't want to go cap-in-hand to her parents). Seven months previously, she'd had a one-night-stand with two guys visiting NY; and now, can't forget. She is sent to Atlantic City to mentor an artist; and this is where she meets up again with Dominic, the owner of a casino/hotel, and Carter, his head of Security, who are long-time friends.
Some silly side stories for all three of them which actually detract (IMO) from the menage relationship they all want.
The Gamble – Gabriella works for a PR firm, but she wants to start her own company. Too bad a lousy night of gambling leads to the loss of her seed money. When work sends her to represent a musician at a casino in Atlantic City, she has the chance to reconnect with Daniel and Carter and win back the $100,000 she needs to pay off her bookie. While she is at it, she is spying on Carter’s brother in law and Daniel’s business rival at an underground poker game. Drama and stubborn pride run all three of their shows, but it’s a fun ride! Happy Reading!
Here's the deal -- I picked this up on Amazon's Stuff Your Kindle day. When I opened it up, it took exactly one chapter for me to remember that I'd read this one before! I'm totally guessing on the completion date, but wanted to track this one as a "Read."
General plot: Gabriella gets herself into a jam gambling; she meets Dominic and Carter as she's working to pay off her debt. Sexy times ensue. She gets out of her jam. They all live HEA.

This was another well written novel from Tara Crescent. Book 2 is based on Gabriella, Carter, and Dominics romance in the Menage in Manhattan series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were relatable, and their romance developed from an unforgettable one night stand. Highly recommend this series as can be read as standalone, but I like that the characters get to be interspersed through each book. Onto book 3 for me now!
Absolutely love this series, and the more I read about all of the characters, the more I want!!! Tara Crescent put just enough suspense and angst to her storied to keep me glued to every word. The steamy scenes off the charts hot!!! I can't wait to see what she has in store next for the Thursday Night Drinking crew.
Why are all the dreamy sex gods just in books lol. I enjoyed Gabby, Dominic & Carter’s story they seem to be two very nice sexy men. Gabby’s attitude did grate on me a couple of times, there is being independent and also being petulant and a couple of times she was the latter with her thinking. That didn’t spoil the story I just wanted to shake her at those times.
Two hot guys for one night of steaminess. Yum! But is it only for one night? Will she see them again and share a bed, or are their lives too complicated to venture into the forbidden? Excellent story, well written, and the characters stories are completely believable. A must read.
Love the characters in this one, Gabby was a little sassy, the boys well men, Sorry, tasty, loved the drama in this one, subtle with a hint of danger, kept me on my toes, never expected that outcome, you will see what I mean when you read it.
I thought this was a quick flirty read with a little suspense thrown in. Enjoyed reading it and love all the girlfriend's adventures in finding their partners.
Please note that I did receive a free copy of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I really enjoyed this book. It had a woman trying to get free of her debts and accidentally meeting up with 2 men she had a moment with previously and what a moment it was. No true love is ever forgotten but can it win against all that pressure.
Gabby is in set to Sammy by losing at poker & she too stubborn to ask for help. She goes away for work & runs into her one night stand, Carter & Dominic. Dominic owns the hotel where she is staying & Carter is head of security!
I quite enjoyed this one also, though the story was not as strong. Timeline for the relationship felt a bit rushed, but not outside of "romance norms". Was hoping for a bit more in Gabby's story.
