As part of my STEM Ambassador research into STEM books for kids I found the popular This Book Is Not Rubbish by Isabel Thomas.  This book is full of brilliant ideas and tips on how to recycle and make changes to help the planet.

Many schools across the UK have introduced Eco Warrior teams and this is the perfect book for such warriors! Tackling optics such as water usage at home, plastic in our oceans, gift wrapping and my nemesis - straws!

I love it and would highly recommend it for eco-conscious kids!

A great book for kids on how to save our planet one family at a time. I especially loved the witty illustrations throughout by Alex Paterson this made my 10 yr old son look over my should more than once
With simply 50 ways in how you can recycle, save water, eat less tastefully & give gifts people can use productively. A smashing book for young eco worriers to become eco warriors it should be in every library, that's where mine is heading to the schools'

This book was for our grandchildren but I just had to have a read before passing it on.
It's aim is to change all eco-worriers into eco-warriors, with 50 practical tips which can easily be adopted to make a difference. There are lots of clever ideas and witty illustrations to support getting the point over.
It covers topics such as recycling, pollution, plastics, global warming, saving water and endangered animals.
I think this book should be available in every school library.

Isabel Thomas is an award-winning science writer. This punchily written book for readers aged 9+ (illustrated by Alex Paterson) offers 50 ways to help save the planet, from increasing the amount of vegetables that you eat to reducing plastic consumption, recycling clothes and saving energy but seems written for more middle class readers and I can’t see some of the suggestions (e.g. clothes swaps and giving up video games) being popular.

A great non-fiction book to get children and adults alike thinking about what we can do to help our planet. This book gives simple ways which we can make a difference from not using plastic straws to becoming an eco-warrior!

This book also has a whole section dedicated to how we can help save the rainforest! A great read if you are learning about the rainforests and conservation in school.
