Beach House Hotel #5

Margaritas at the Beach House Hotel

Rate this book
An upscale hotel like The Beach House Hotel sometimes attracts surprise guests….
Ann and Rhonda continue overseeing their Beach House Hotel along the Gulf Coast of Florida and providing guests with a lovely experience of good eating, relaxation, and the privacy many of them require. When Vice President of the United States, Amelia Swanson, asks them for a favor, Ann and Rhonda agree without realizing it means protecting Amelia’s sister from an abusive husband and a nosy public, including their nemesis, Brock Goodwin, who hopes to gain something from the knowledge. But once they’ve said yes, there’s no going back.
Life continues at a busy pace with their families growing baby by baby. Nell, Vaughn’s daughter, has a baby girl; Rhonda’s daughter, Angela, has her second baby, a girl; and Liz, Ann’s daughter, is desperately trying to get pregnant. With all the tension and activity taking place at home and at the hotel, Ann and Rhonda meet in the afternoon when they can for margaritas and private talk. Rhonda, especially, needs Ann’s guidance in how to handle Katherine Smythe, Angela’s mother-in-law, and one of the most irritating people they know.
After they have what Rhonda calls a “near-death experience,” they come to realize how lucky they are. And when another wedding takes place at the hotel due to what Rhonda believes is her matchmaking skills, they celebrate life and margaritas at The Beach House Hotel in a whole different way.
This is a light-hearted, fun beach read with characters readers love. Be sure and read all the other books in this series: Breakfast at The Beach House Hotel, Lunch at The Beach House Hotel, Dinner at The Beach House Hotel, Christmas at The Beach House Hotel, and the upcoming Dessert at The Beach House Hotel.

Grab your margarita, find a comfy chair and let's go back to the beach house on the Florida coast owned by two strong and feisty women - Ann and Rhoda.

Ann and Rhoda are long time friends who own a boutique hotel on the Gulf Coast of Florida. The hotel is known for its good food. good scenery and, most important, the privacy that their guests need. In this book, they get involved with the government -- the Vice President needs a private place for her sister to hide from her abusive husband. While they work hard to keep the visit quiet, their enemy Brock is busy snooping around trying to find out who their guest really is. Along with all of the stress of protecting their guest, there is a lot going on in their private lives -- new grandchildren, a daughter who can't get pregnant, and handling a snobby mother in law. The book touches on spousal abuse and how far the media will go to get a story. The most important part of the story for me was the strong friendship between the two women and their ability to help each other through all sorts of issues. They both have their hands full with families and babies and a nosy HOA president but through it all, they remain loyal to their friendship and always try to find time for that margarita at the end of the day.

Readers can always depend on Judith Keim to give them a book about strong woman in great locations. This series has another plus for me because the women are older and have a lot of life experience. So pack your bags and head to Florida for a stay at the Beach House Hotel...you're going to love it!

Tanks to the author for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley, Judith Keim and Wild Quail Publishing for the ARC of Margaritas at The Beach House Hotel. This is my personal review.
This is book five in the Beach House Hotel series and it is as magnificent as the others in the series.
Ann and Rhonda own and run the Beach House Hotel in Florida. They make sure all their guests have a wonderful time when they are at the hotel, and they do everything they can to make sure the privacy of their guests in protected. The guest they have this time is the sister of the Vice President of the United States. Keeping her out of the spotlight is essential to her safety and this puts a lot of pressure on Ann and Rhonda as well as staff members. They handle it with the help of trusted employees, but things get complicated.
Grab this book to read as you relax and you will be so glad you do!
I enjoyed being back at the Beach House Hotel and I look forward to more books in the series.

I enjoyed reading this story. Ann & Rhonda are best friends & business partners. Family is they most important thing to these women. They run the Beach House Hotel and pride themselves and there business on privacy of there guests. When they have a tough day/week they take time for themselves to talk about it over margaritas.

Entertaining. This is a book that is somewhat deep in a series - Book 5 - and never once shies away from that fact. It has a wide range of established characters and storylines, but Keim does a remarkable job of making sure the reader understands the relevant histories, no matter if they've been a long time fan or if this is your entry point to this series or even this author - as it was both for me. Indeed, it is arguable that perhaps Keim does *too much* rehashing of prior stories- more in repeating a few sentences (with variation, not copy/ paste, at least not obviously) about whatever relevant fact such as how characters met or why another character is so problematic, etc.

And yet, despite and perhaps because of all of this, this book absolutely works as a continuation of its world and as a showcase for the author's style and tone. Those that enjoy ensemble casts with a lot of characters and a lot going on will thoroughly enjoy this book, those who prefer fewer characters... probably won't like it as much. But the storylines all interweave remarkably well, particularly with the narration being solely driven by one character's perspective and the primary focus being that character and her business partner and friend - who enjoy catching up in stolen moments via the titular event.

Ultimately a strong book about friendship and defending the hurting, this tale is very much recommended.

Margaritas at The Beach House Hotel by Judith Keim takes the reader back to visit Sabel, FL, and two wonderful characters, Ann, and Rhonda. This is the fifth booth in this series but can be read as a stand-alone novel. The ladies have hugely different styles but work together and have made a success of the Beach House Hotel.
Ann and Rhonda have a request from an extremely important person. Vice-President Amelia Swanson is asking for a place of sanctuary for her younger sister Lindsay Thaxton. Lindsay is married to the president's younger brother who has been sent to a rehab facility. He is repetitively abusive to Lindsay. She needs a place to recover and escape from her husband while she waits for a divorce. The Beach House has a small cottage at the back which will be used for Lindsay and her bodyguard, Debra. The Vice president's limo has not been gone long before their number one troublemaker comes to call. Brock Goodwin has come to ask who was in the limo that he had seen at the hotel. Ann and Rhonda let him know it is none of his business and they have a right to keep their client's identity private. Problems continue to surface as the ladies try to provide a safe haven for Lindsay amid noisy neighbors and the media photographers.
An incredibly good sequel in this series!

Margaritas at the Beach House Hotel
This is the fifth book in the Beach House series written by Judith Keim. Ann and Rhonda continue to operate the hotel with a visit from the Vice President. She has a special request for Ann and Rhonda to fulfill amid the normal hotel functions and their families. They are asked to shelter her sister, Lindsay, from her abusive husband. Ann and Rhonda guarantee privacy for their guests. This becomes more of a challenge when Brock Goodwin tries to find out who is staying in the cottage on the property as well as reporters. Ann and Rhonda often meet to regroup and talk about the hotel and their families over margaritas in their special place.
This is another great relaxing book by Judith Keim written with the beach, sunsets and relaxation in mind. So, grab a margarita or glass of your favorite beverage and pick up this book to find the outcome of Lindsay, Ann and Rhonda’s experiences.
I received a copy of an ARC in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

This is book five in the series and the story continues on with Ann and Rhonda running the Beach House Hotel. As I was reading, there seemed to be a lot of things happening with the things going on at the hotel, the families, and the President of the Neighborhood, but everything flowed so smoothly. I was amazed that the book was so relaxing with all that was going on.
They have the right employees who they trust, they have built up a reputation of giving everyone their privacy, whether it is a tourist, a celebrity, or the Vice President of the United States. They are prepared for the unexpected and, yes, there are unexpected things that happen, As, I didn't have time for a mini vacation, I felt like I was on a mini vacation reading this book. Even having some Margaritas with them.
I received an ARC from Wild Quail Publishing through NetGalley.

Rachel and Ann are co-owners of the Beach House Hotel. It is an upscale, small hotel where guests are given utmost privacy. That is why the Vice President of the United States is there along with her sister who is in the process of divorcing her husband, the President’s brother. Keeping everyone safe requires a lot of help and some interesting happenings. Rachel and Ann believe the staff are like family and they also feel that way about many of their guests. Ann is married to a long-time soap opera star who has his own interesting life. He maintains a loving relationship with his wife, Ann, and their children from previous marriages. The setting is the beach in Florida, and I felt like I had been transported to their lovely hotel with activities and the beach at my disposal. Great characters and stories that provide insights into relationships between grandparents and new mothers, new mothers and their children, best friends, and extended families.

Ann and Rhonda run the Beach House Hotel. It’s located in Florida on the Gulf Coast. They are known for privacy, so when the VP of the USA approaches them about her sister who was abused by her husband, the president’s brother. She needs them to let her stay there and keep it private. They need to keep her safe. With a nosy neighbor lurking around and her abusive husband, will they be able to help her and keep her safe? They also have their margarita time. Nothing better than relaxing and drinking the specialty margaritas. I love the bond between Ann and Rhonda. I also love the families and employees. The characters are great. It’s a place I would love to go to. It’s an awesome read

Ann and Rhonda run a wonderful hotel by the beach and pride themselves on guest privacy. This is put to the test when the Vice President asks them to hide her sister at the hotel and away from her abusive husband. Ann and Rhonda are working hard to keep her safe and not let anyone know she is there. Brock is a nuisance they have to deal with. There is lots of family time and margaritas as well. This is a fun easy read and you feel like you are part of the family while reading this.

Grab a drink, or two and prepare for a whirlwind of a novel that you will not put down.

I would most certainly recommend this and all of Judith Keim's novels if you are looking for a feel-good and entertaining novel that will leave you longing for more.

Pack your suitcases and head down to Sabal, FL for a wonderful vacation at The Beach House Hotel!!!

With this being the 5th book in the series, it is starting to feel like a familiar vacation spot, one that you enjoy going to every year, seeing the same friendly faces on the staff you've come to know like family. I feel like I could navigate around the hotel easily (if it was real, that is), walk through the new gates to the beach and plop down to watch the sunset.

This book finds Rhonda and Ann still at the helm of The Beach House Hotel. Their families are growing up and out, they are making new friends and fighting old foes, and in between, they take time for the occasional margarita. I don't do spoilers, but I absolutely encourage you to pick up this book and its predecessors if you haven't already read them, and take a vacation to Florida. Enjoy the trip!!

I really enjoyed this story. I had not read the previous stories in the series, but that did not detract from this book. Ann and Rhonda were very good partners and complimented each other in running the Beach House Hotel. I liked that they kept all their guests identies comfidential, which is why the vice president chose their hotel to hide her sister from her abusive husband. The characters were very well written and likeable (except for Brock who was very unlikeable. Their was romance, some drama and the beach. What more could you want

I had an Advanced Reader copy of this book. This is the second book I have read in the series and found it quite enjoyable.

I am really liking Ann and Rhonda and their adventures at the Beach House Hotel. I have not yet read the first three in the series, but find that it is not necessary to understand and be a part of the story. I think it makes you want to go back and see how things began.

This story takes place with a very important person coming to the hotel and trying to protect her sister. The story has many twists and turns and makes you feel like you are a part of the story. I enjoy how it is written in the first person by Ann. I like hearing her perspective on the situations at hand.

I believe this book is worth your time. Make sure you have a margarita at hand.

What’s not to love? A hotel right at the waters edge, glorious sunrises, spectacular sunsets, delicious food and lots of relaxation until a little intrigue almost upsets the balance of fun and privacy of the inhabitants and guests at The Beach House Hotel.
Ann and Rhonda have their hands full with weddings, babies, a nosy president of the neighborhood group who is stirring up trouble for the hotel and a secret guest that must stay hidden for her safety.
It’s time to fix a margarita, sit back and get ready to read another captivating book by Judith Keim.
I received an early copy of this excellent book from the author and this review is my honest opinion.

I enjoy Judith Keim's Beach House Hotel series. Margaritas at the Beach House Hotel is her latest book. It lived up to the series standard and did not disappoint. When a well-known woman is the victim of abuse the ladies' discretion is called upon when they are asked to hide her at the Beach House Hotel. That kicks off a chain of events that were hardly imaginable. Fast-paced and fun to read. I would definitely recommend it.

Herein lies the two best hotel owners bar none! What pampering, luxury item; security safeguards; giving complete prIvacy to each guest these two haven’t thought of, their staff personnel will tell them. Yet the two gals still have the same dedication to their family and friends. And, oh yes, the author makes you feel like you are there in the scene awaiting your invite to their private balcony for margaritas. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Book 5 of the Beach House series. I love picking up a book where I already know many of the characters. It's like meeting up with a friend you haven't seen in a while. Ann and Rhonda are the co-owners of the Beach House Hotel and it's never a dull moment keeping things running smoothly. Protecting the privacy of their guests is there #1 priority but when the guests are high profile it gets a bit challenging. The author does a great job with character development and easing you into meeting new characters. I recommend this series so grab a cup of coffee and sit back with an old friend.

The description says it all. This is a book with a lot happening. Through it all, the family members are loving and support each other.

This is a fun story about two best friends and their extended families going through difficult and interesting times. This is book 5 in a series so there has already been a lot of their stories told, but the author does a good job at bringing the reader up to speed.

Rhonda speaks "frankly" so I have no problem with her comments, and although a few readers might object, I think most readers will find her words to be commonplace. This book can be enjoyed by young adults and up.

I was provided an advance reader copy by the author. This is my honest opinion.

I would love to go stay at The Beach House Hotel please! If not as guest then I would love to work for Rhonda and Anne. They have incredible adventures and seem like the best people to be around each day! Judith Keim has done it again!! She is able to transport the reader to the beach is spectacular fashion. Her writing is so descriptive I could smell the salt in the air and hear the waves on the shoreline. This was a great book and had some twists and turns that were completely unexpected. Truly another Beach House Hotel bestseller. Now how do I make reservations?

Welcome back to the Beach House Hotel. Book Five of Ms Keim's series does not disappoint and follows the story of the previous books, although it certainly can be read as a stand alone. Ann and Rhonda continue their support of women in all walks of life, helping when one is in trouble, supporting women through highs and lows of life.

The supporting characters are well rounded and the reader is certain of who the not so nice ones are and who the true supporting cast is. Its fun to reconnect with other characters and the book leaves the reader wanting more and feeling as though they too a friends with this ever growing family.

This book is so enjoyable, make sure you have plenty of time to relax and return to the beach.

Book five in Judith Keim’s Beach House series is quite a read. Two seemingly different but very.compatible women own and run an upscale hotel on the coast of Florida. Beginning on the first page this book is full of action and danger. We learn the players but are on the edge of our seats wondering what they might do. It is a absolutely a page turner. Ms Keim shows us throughout the book how women support each other.
I definitely recommend this sweet but action packed read from this accomplished writer of women’s fiction.

I read this book as an ARC and wish to thank Judith Keim and the publishers. The ideas contained in this review are strictly my own.

A heart-warming story in an enjoyable series centered around the Beach House Hotel. Ann and Rhonda are hoteliers on the Gulf Coast of Florida, providing relaxing, memorable experiences for their guests. The fun thing about a series is that the reader is invested in the characters, and this story doesn’t disappoint. There are several references to previous books by Ms. Keim, (I especially liked the Chandler Hill wine reference), but this can easily be read as a stand-alone. From the nosy and irritable President of the HOA out to cause Rhonda and Ann as much grief as possible, to the reliable staff and interesting guests, the reader will cheer on Ann and Rhonda (and boo Brock!). Pull a chair out into your favorite garden or beside a pond or on the beach, and lose yourself in this latest installment of the Beach House series! Well done, Judith Keim - thank you!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review; this in no way affected my opinion of the story.

Ann and Rhonda may have a soft heart for the downtrodden, but they are anything but ‘softies’. They stand up for right and put a lot on the line to fight against wrong. They mix business with pleasure in a way that serves causes close to their hearts.

And that brings us to Lindsay Thaxton, the sister of the Vice President of the United States but also the sister-in-law of the President. Her husband is a mentally, unstable abuser. To me, that’s the real plot line of this story. Her husband couldn’t handle the fact his brother won the presidency. Lindsey’s life was in danger from him and needed a place to hide. Thus she is secreted to The Beach House Hotel in Florida, where the owners, Ann and Rhonda, are determined to provide her protection.

While I admire a novel concerning women and the hardships they go through, this one was just too busy involving too many people for me to follow everything. I got confused trying to keep up with the various characters. We read about lots of contention when it comes to dueling mother-in-laws, fertility vs infertility, new mother programs and spouse abuse. Those are all good subjects to tackle but jumping around so much between all these people and their woes made it hard for me to relate to any one character.

👁 OBSERVATIONS 👁

… I love how family takes precedence …. here, family is front and center

… Totally agree with Rhonda about Brock when she said: “He’s more of a pest than a frickin’ mosquito.”

… Little Robbie couldn’t have asked for better parents … even if the DNA didn’t match. He ended up the winner.

… Okay, I just can’t help it. I so wish Robert was able to see how he messed up and just see Ann now, with Vaughn. Would love for him to see how he couldn’t begin to compare and for him to see Anns’ success and Vaughn’s love. But alas, he’ll never see or know that.
