As Dr Campbell Tempest Stuart finishes up for the night at Westen Hills General Hospital, he stumbles across a computer tablet left behind by a patient. Upon opening it up, he discovers content of a disturbing nature. When his son is kidnapped, he finds himself falling down the rabbit hole of paedophilia, torture and murder.
I loved the ending of this book. Couldn't have worked out any better. This book is very intense. You can feel the pressure and anger of the characters. You will feel like you are right there in the moment. Once the story picks up it goes so fast. Something is always happening. Dr. Campbell goes thru hell as does Eloise. Things will never be the same.
This book would have been so much better if it had been proofread first. There are so many grammatical errors that caused me to have to re-read the sentence to figure out what was being said. Other than the errors the story line was good and worth reading.
Wish there was a negative opinion. The book was not only predictable, but it was clearly written by someone who has never been to Illinois, the Midwest, or the United States. I want the time I wasted on this book back.
I came here from booktok, and I'm starting to question why I ever listened to them. 👎👎
The story was ok, although not resolved. But, I was so distracted by the factual errors about Chicago, it bordered on absurd. I live near Chicago and know it well. I have also been to UK, a number of times and know it somewhat well. That is obviously where the author is from. People here don't refer to each other as "love" (on a casual basis) or "mate.". There is no monorail in Chicago, nor are there roundabouts. There isn't a Boardwalk and if there was, oak trees would not be growing next it, in the sand. Chicago is firmly in the eastern portion of the Midwest and not in the Northwest. No Chicagoan would refer to the Subway, as the Underground. Those are just a few of the errors that come to mind. Most of those things are true for just about anywhere in the US. I wouldn't presume to write about London, even though I have been there often, because I haven't been there enough to act like I know enough to put together a plausible story. This author needs to learn that lesson before writing any future books.
