This is a fast pace Novella, and this is the first book in the Shadows Between Lies series. I have to say I did not love this book, but I also did not hate this book. I feel the book was to fast pace, and I had trouble really following the storyline while reading this book. I also did not think the characters where really developed. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Friendship. Love. Deception. Consequences.

Can one woman love two men for most of her adult life and remain happily in her marriage to one of them; while maintaining a sexual relationship with both?

Maddy and her husband Fred are long time friends with Mila and Logan. All four have been besties since their late teens and University days.

There is friendship and genuine love between both couples, along with strong un-breakable bonds, especially between the women. There is longevity. The women have secrets. As do the men.

This is an involving story; with love and caring at its heart, until Fred is the victim of a random assault by a stranger. After which he sees his life differently.

This is a book of intrigue and deception, cleverly woven into a believable plot by the author.

Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This book was a quick finish. I finished it because I found the concept intriguing and the realistic approach helped to make it more palatable. However, the characters were not developed enough to be compelling and the dizzying back and forth through the years made this a very unrelaxing read lol. Overall I didn't hate it.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a good fiction novella. I stress the word FICTION because I just don't believe it's possible for people to happily coexist with all these things that are going on between them. However the story is a fun read. It kept me entertained and wanting to see what would happen next. I easy got involved with the characters and their situations and tried to imagine what it would be like to be each of them. The end of this book came too quickly for me and now I am wanting to see what comes next!

This is a story of friendship, love, betrayal, and seemingly unbreakable bonds. Time will tell...

Two couples. Lucas and Ella, Noah and Emma. Friends for decades, college roommates, parents, and a secret on going affair. There is an abduction and robbery, the affair comes to light. The story was a bit hard to read as the page numbers or some kind of numbers would appear in the middle of the page. This story also felt unfinished to me

This is the first book in the Shadows Between Lies series. It's a a fast-paced story and a quick ready. The story is about four friends, who have been close since their teens. As you read the story, the lives of the four friends are interwoven and you see the close friendship they have, as well as, the secrets they have. I have to be honest. I didn't love this story. I didn't hate it either. I felt no connection to the characters. They seemed shallow and not well developed. The fast pace and the jumping back and forth between years was a little hard to follow. The story line seemed rushed, but at the same time not defined. I had a hard time finishing this book. Since this is the first book in the series, the story and characters may develop more in the next two books.
I received a complementary eBook copy of this book from BookSirens for my honest review.
