I enjoy learning the history of places I've been. Having just been to Pearl Harbor this summer, I appreciated that chance to learn more about its history beyond the infamous 1941 attack (though this book contained a thorough review of that event as well). Also, it had many pictures, including parts of the area that were closed to tourists while I was there.

I was learning alot about shipwrecks and history at the time. This book was great to really visualize the ships in that era.
