So where is the driver?

Who killed them? And who was driving the car.
With a murderer on their patch, can the detectives unravel the mystifying clues before the perpetrator goes on the run?

M K Farrar had penned more than ten novels of psychological noir and crime fiction. A British author, she lives in the countryside with her three children and a menagerie of rescue pets. When she’s not writing—which isn’t often—she balances out all the murder with baking and binge-watching shows on Netflix.
This is the prequel to the superb DI Erica Swift series. Set when she was DS Swift in Bristol, before moving to London.
As always this is a well written, prequel, fast paced, addictive and a great introduction her DI Ryan Chase, who will have his own series July 2021? It was good to read about Erica as she was before becoming a DI.
As always, a well plotted story that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you get to know these fascinating characters. I can’t wait to read more of the DI Erica Swift series and look forward to the new series with DI Ryan Chase.

A quick look into a tough case that has emotions and tragedy mixed together...For Everyone involved...
Two young boys taking a shortcut through the woods discover a car crashed into a tree. Peeking through the passenger window, they see a lot of blood in the driver's seat ... but no bodies.
So where is the driver?
DI Ryan Chase and his partner, DI Erica Swift finds upon investigation more questions than answers.
When they identify who owns the car, Chase and Swift visit their address to see if the car has been stolen. What they find is much, much worse. A woman and her daughter have been brutally killed. Where is the husband and father?
Searching the home, they find a hidden cell phone that belongs to someone else. Coincidentally, the owner of the phone was just reported missing.
This is a short story (novella) packed with page-turning action. 'Twice the Lie' is set before the first book in the DI Erica Swift series, 'The Eye Thief'. Meet her previous DI, Ryan Chase, who is also getting his own series. What a great way to be introduced to the detectives.
Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
Love this. So if you have read the Erica Swift series this is before she became a DI and is centred around her time working under DI Ryan Chase.
They get called to a crime scene which is like something our of a horror movie. Blood all over a crashes car but no body. So where is the injured party or parties. DI Chase and DS Swift are on the case. So when a second crime scene is also discovered the question is how do the two scenes link together.
I absolutely loved this book and not only because it is based in my hometown. But because I've become (very quickly) a huge fan of MK Farrar, she writes so well she has quickly become one of my favourite authors. Every book is so easy to read and follow and there's always a huge twist that I expect and don't expect all at the same time!!
This is our introduction to DI Chase who is getting his own crime series and although he's no Erica I am already loving his character.
Highly recommend not just this book but every crime book written by MK Farrar you won't want to put them down! If like me you like a bit of a whodunit and find yourself guessing throughout these books are for you. I am almost glad I didn't read this one first because it helped me appreciate the knowledge of Erica I already had, but it can easily be read first. As always expect some sickly moments and didn't see that coming moments. I thought I had the whole storyline sussed m, what a fool I had been. 5 stars easy .
Twice the Lie is book 0.5 in the DI Erica Swift series by M. K. Farrar. DI Chase and DS Swift of the Major Crimes Investigation Team caught a new case of the death of a mother and daughter. At first, DI Chase and DS Swift buffed with the case until they caught a break. The readers of Twice the Lie will continue to follow DI Chase and DS Swift's investigation to discover what happens.
Twice the Lie is a quick read and the start of a new series by M. K. Farrar. This book is an excellent way to lay out the characters for the author's readers of this new series by M. K. Farrar. I like M. K. Farrar's writing style and how she portrayed her characters. Twice the Lie is well-written and researched by M. K. Farrar. I enjoyed M. K. Farrar's description of Twice the Lie's settings, which complemented the book's plot.
The readers of Twice the Lie will learn about law enforcement officers' issues with their personal lives. Also, the readers of Twice the Lie will learn about making children understand how to stand up to bullies.
Book Review: Twice the Lie: A DI Erica Swift Thriller Prequel Author: M.K. Farrar My Rating: 5 Stars
REVIEW Another fantastic thriller by this author. A car crash, tons of blood, but no bodies? Oh yeah, sink your teeth into this one. All the chills and feels of a fantastic story. I loved DI Ryan Chase!! Can not wait to see what else this author writes, I love a well-written story that keeps me on the edge until the very end...
So close to being a 5*. An excellent prequel. A quick read as a) a novella, and b) addictive . I have already read a couple of books by this author co-written with M A Comley and really enjoyed them. Quick pacey writing, interesting characters and a well plotted storyline. Looking forward to reading more in the DI Erica Swift series.
Two confusing cases collide. This novella is to introduce DI Ryan Chase and is also a prequel to the author's DS Swift books. Two wives are each awaiting their husbands' return but it doesn't happen for either of them from work. Eventually, the seemingly unrelated cases are linked by Chase, Swift, and the team. This is a well written book with some clever twists. The tension and pace are high throughout. A nice quick read.
I loved this. I had not read any of this authors' books before but I am now really looking forward to following DI Erica Swift as she moves on. I strongly recommend it.
Police mystery/.Two boys come across a recently wrecked abandoned car with blood all over the inside. Two husbands are missing and one of the husband's wife and daughter are murdered in their home.
Enjoyed this novella with both Erice Swift and Ryan Chase, both having their own series. They investigate the murder of a mother and child and secret lives
Two boys come across a wrecked car with blood in it, but no passengers. The police link it to a horrific double murder, and start their investigation, which leads to some disturbing conclusions.
