Voted "most likely to run and hide" from anything spooky in younger years, Kate has made it one of her life goals to prove everyone wrong. Her stories are based on recurring nightmares, her experiences as a paranormal investigator and medium, and explorations into the crossroads where the darkness of mental illness become tangled with horror fiction (based on her own experience with CPTSD and MDD).

If you enjoy the works of Anne Rice, give her Bathorians series a try. It's witchcraft, alternative history, a splash of romance for heat, and plenty of bloody gore. Recommended age 16+.

Her short stories cover all things supernatural/horror, from ghosts and ghouls to live burials and dark fetishism. Recommended age 16+.

I finished the first and was very generously offered the second in this series. I loved it. The story telling drew me in and though horror is not my go to usually this was a great escape. While the first book reminded me of a notched up Goosebumps the detail in writing, the this is what witches do calmness and the evolving characters put me more in mind of Ann Rice.
Bianca's interaction with her powers and those she meets continue while her friends end up connected in twists I did not see coming.
Yes these are horror but because of the supernatural beings not because of humans doing despicable things to each other. These I enjoy and will be reading as fast as they come out for some good escapism.
I received this book forvfree on Bookworms and was happy to leave this reveiw.

The story that is being unfolded in these pages is absolutely captivating. The amount of emotions that I experienced while reading this book, alone drives me even deeper into the series. I am a very big fan of an author who can write without the reader being able to always predict the outcome. Kate achieves this in her writing. Her writing is very sophisticated, however, she writes in such a way that it is easy to follow, easy to remember, and she always pieces everything togethet in a way you wouldnt have guessed. This is the second book in the series and the story line is flowing just as strong as if it were a stand alone. I very much enjoyed it and cant wait for Book #3
