My normal college life— far away from my family’s crime empire—turns upside down when I find out I must marry Dante Antonelli, a rival crime lord.

Cold and vicious, Dante is the terror of our city, and he never shows any mercy to anyone. Now I belong to him, and he can do whatever he wants with me.

When his hand closes around my throat, I don’t know if he wants to kiss me or kill me. Probably both.

But beneath my fear, there’s something much stronger and more powerful. Dante is bringing out of me something I’ve never thought I could feel.

Will he be my end or my beginning?

Property is a standalone dark arranged marriage mafia romance with potentially triggering situations and is intended for mature audiences.

I really struggle with how I should rate this because there are pros and cons. I liked the story, however, I struggle with the way the story flowed and was told to me.

Normally, I don’t comment on POV, but for this book, I wish there were dual POV. I felt there were still so many unanswered questions with Dante. There was a particular scene where they were eating together and the conversation was about ever being in love and Dante’s past with women. Caterina asked Dante a question, and he abruptly leaves without answering. I would have loved to know why, and his thoughts towards Caterina because he was hot and cold.

Caterina’s POV told this story, and that’s where I had the flow problem. I felt at times especially in the beginning I was reading Caterina’s diary more than thoughts. I was always surprised they never got pregnant or in the epilogue they did not have kids either. I felt like that would have completed this story in the epilogue based on their story.

The story movies quickly, not really a problem for me that was ok. The weird thing was, although I had an issue with most things, it would normally put me off from finishing, but I was still interested in wanting to see where the story goes and how it will end. This let me knows it not the story for me it’s the way it’s being told to me.

Overall, I still wouldn’t deter anyone from reading this. It will definitely depend how you like your story and what you like to see in your story. It’s still a nice story.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

Not my favorite

I think everyone assumes that writing about crime bosses is easy but it isn’t. There are certain mannerisms that bosses need to exhibit and Dante didn’t show any. For example, the title is PROPERTY but he actually only referred to her as such one time and it was super awkward. He was trying to save face with Matteo. Who in turn was jealous of his wife. Makes no sense.

This dark romance was entertaining. I felt so bad for Rina in the beginning due to her family and being forced into an arranged marriage. Though Dante didn't treat her well in the beginning, it got better until they hit a glitch. There were a few twists in the story which just added interest and some suspense. I thought that Rina and Dante had sizzling hot chemistry together, and thought it was a sweet HEA.

Eh

Storyline started off strong and intriguing, then a little half way through...somehow everything all resolved and it was a boring happy relationship. What a disappointment. It had potential.

I liked the premise of the book, but wished it had more angst. Also, The resolution at end was very rushed

this book is a twisted version of beauty and the best slash cinderella kind of except there no evil stepsisters there mafia and instead of wicked stepmom there a evil dad ,in rina world all she ever wanted was to go to school but when her dad calls her back home everything is flipped upside down .She is sighed away like a dog into a marriage that she doesn't want and the cruel man that is her monster is dante the night her liffe is sighned away he all but ignores her and treats her like a caged animal she fights to escape but to no avail but as time gose on she starts to have this unexplained attraction to him its like fire and ice the more they start to know each other the more she falls for him and like every other book there never a easy read especially when mafia family's are at war. tis was a good read i hated how there wasnt more details to the book it was fast passed but all in all it was hell of a read.

If I could give zero stars I would. A basic and juvenile copy of the clichéd mafia troupe, girl of a mafia boss given away to another mafia boss. The heroine thinks, and I quote, 'He's the hottest man I've ever seen', enough said to show how immature and unprofessional this and the so called author's writing is. Honestly it's like a 13 year old girl once read a mafia book, copied the basic outline and put it on wattpad. It really is awful to read the immature and juvenile thoughts and dialogue. It's a joke to call this a dark romance, nothing dark here, just insta lust of teenage like characters. She falls on her knees and happily gives him a bj after he has locked her in a room all day and night following their five second wedding, and not a single word of conversation between them, yet she is aroused by it because... oh yeah "he's the hottest man she's ever seen"! Awful. Really juvenile, basic rubbish. No substance. Couldn't stand to read any more of this, did not finish at 25%.

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. Catering thought her life was going the way she wanted nearly finished her degree and staying away from her abusive father. The frightfulday happened when she was ordered home, she was told that she will be married in three days. Dante marries Caterina and takes her straight home and locks her up, but over time they get to know each other. He shows everyone his cold hearted side but slowly shows another side to his wife. Will they get their HEA?

Dante is mafia and has an arranged marriage with Caterina. This is a wonderful and dark story. Dante may seem like a jerk but he comes around as much as he can. Caterina is promised to Dante and she feels that her life is over because now she is his property. The characters live up to their roles and I enjoyed this story. I had a hard time putting it down, I hate when life get in the way of my reading. I hope there are more books like this from Evelyn Ferras.

This is my first Mafia book by this author and i really enjoyed it, so I'm sure it won't be my last!
The overall plot was basic and pretty straight forward but it was really good! It makes a change to read something that is not too complex and doesn't have too many twists in it!
This was more about the relationship between the MCs than the mafia story itself but I liked that!

I loved reading every page of this book, to the point that I've been up until 2am reading this! I love the name Caterina, Tvd flashbacks y'all. My only criticism would be for there to be a bit more grovel/angst when Dante was being more colder and the book slightly longer.

Just ok

A basic mafia romance with minimal character and storyline development. It seemed as though there were plot points that were going to make for an interesting story but were either never developed or became cliche. The emotion in the story never seemed to match what the author was trying to convey.

Caterina and Dante

Dante is a young mob boss and Caterina is a daughter of a mob boss, and the arrange marriage begins. Caterina have hard time adjusting to the situation and Dante take it as a part of the life.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read however I am a fast reader so I don’t know if that impacts the review a bit. It was a book that kept me engaged and excited. A bit of smut as well but it was really well written. Really excited to read more from the author

tá mais pra sequestro que pra casamento arranjado. Acho que as pessoas devem primeiro entender sobre o que estão escrevendo. Não é assim que a mafia funciona. Essa não é a psicologia de uma moça criada dentro de uma familia criminosa

I wish I could give this 0 stars. Nothing in this book made sense. It was written purely for the lackluster sex scenes and to call it a “dark” romance would be a blatant lie. More like a very light grey “romance.”

DNF at 42%
This book had potential. It started off really good and intriguing, then it got boring. There wasn't enough grovel/angst. It felt like instalove. Also there's nothing really dark about this book.

I struggled not to DNF this one. Single POV with an h that is ridiculous, very basic writing style and almost all tell and no show was boring and hard to connect to either MC.

Not enough character development. There was no chemistry. The whole book seemed rushed. I believe the story had a lot of potential if it had not been for the author rushing.

Just ok

I liked the beginning but as it got further in it just kinda went flat.
Author didn’t paint a picture I thought of what was happening and the environment.
