I was so excited a new book in this series was being released. Unfortunately, there is little to be excited about with this book. Too many grammatical errors and poor editing. The incorrect usage of "mines" when it should be "mine" is aggravating. The vocabulary of the two attorneys made them seem barely literate. The lack of research was evident. Plaintiff's attorneys are not prosecutors. Lastly, the book was too convoluted and unbelievable. The synopsis was the best thing about the book. I usually enjoy this author's works but this book fell flat. I struggled to finish the book. While I did not enjoy the book others may like it. You read and decide.
I read the first 4 books in this series a while ago and remembered liking them so when I saw this newly released book I couldn’t wait to read it. Holy editing Batman 🤦🏾♀️. This book was Sooo cringy. Grammar was terrible and atrocious. Editing did a horrible job almost made me put the book down. Time lines, sentences, details, names being mentioned when they were no where in the scene were messed up. For example when they were on the yacht at the end it mentioned they were out at sea then an emergency happened and magically they were docked. No mention of the trigger warning of kherrington being SA/coerced by her then boyfriend to have intercourse. The sex scenes were Sooo mediocre and hard to read I just skimmed to get to the end. The fact that this women was pregnant and they never mentioned her due date, not wanting to know the sex of the baby, heart beat nothing!!! Then the doctor smacks the baby on the butt…NO ONE DOES THAT ANYMORE!!!The story line, plot twist were the only thing that kept me reading to find out how the story would end. So disappointed there is another book in this series I want to read but not anymore. Glad I had kindle unlimited and it was free to read.
This one is hard for me. I enjoyed the book but I was very distracted by the editing or lack of editing. Grammar, misused words, only one instance where the wrong character was inserted. But despite all of this there was a good story. I usually don't rate a book poorly for grammar mistakes however, this one was so egregious that I had to because it took away from the story. Example - "mines" was used several times. I also struggled with some of the dialogue. Just didn't seem true to the characters at time, specifically Stone. I like Ms. McAfee's books and was quite surprised about the quality of this one. I won't let this deter me from reading again but I do hope she's able to get a good editor or proofreader.
I did Not mind the story. Yes it could have been better but goodness gracious the grammar was bad! It was just terrible! Show me a man that walks around saying "mines" instead of "mine". Also why reveal the killer so early in the story? Also 2 lawyers who should know better, one being supposedly brilliant and rich couldn't afford a P.I? The premise of the book is good but the execution is certainly flawed.
I really loved this book! It was filled with intrigue and mystery. The character traits worked well together. Todd was funny, Stone was petty and Derrick was low down. My only negative would be that the story was full of grammatical errors that caused me to reread for clarification. For content this book is a 10 out of 10 a must read! Enjoy!
This could have been a great story. But the typo's were astronomical. Made reading very difficult. And it didn't quite flow in some parts. Some parts were totally unbelievable. This author has done better. Its a shame
I loved it! It was meant to be from enemies to lovers. All things happened a reason too bad her brother was cause. But he was sick.. What happened to the money he transferred? Other than that, it was great reading. Just like your Brides oh Hilton Head.
This was a lovely but scary story. I'm glad that Stone found Kerrington, after he lost Cherise. We should never drink and drive. Cherish brother had some real problems. His poor mother lost all of her children.
This is a great book of Friends to Lovers. The book is good but very repetitive, I have truly enjoyed reading this entire series and hope there is more to come!
