Blanchette Red isn't the sweet little witch with the red cloak she’s fooled everyone into thinking she is. The wolf looks tame compared to her vengeance, and she’s out to make them all pay.
Together with her three mates, she crosses the first name off her list: dear ol’ Granny. There’s nothing quite like homemade poisoned cookies to wish her a fast recovery straight to Hell.
This Little Red Riding Hood isn’t playing games; she’s out for blood, and no amount of magic will get in her way. An omega on the war path isn’t one to cross, but throw in her lovers, and her enemies will beg for death.
Warning: This story is intended for mature audiences. It includes foul language, sexual scenes, and graphic violence. This twisted Little Red Riding Hood retelling isn’t for the faint of heart. Be advised this is a reverse harem novel where the main character ends up with more than one mate by the end of the book. And while this story can be read as a standalone and comes with its own HFN, it's recommended you read the books in order to fully enjoy the series since old characters like to pop back up every now and then.
USA Today bestselling author, D.E. Chapman is a fantasy novel addict that reads them as much as she writes them, often pretending to be her characters. After all, life is infinitely more exciting with magic and dragons. She hopes to one day write a book so fantastical that it creates a portal to another world. But beware, not all she writes is sunshine and happy endings. There are darker stories hiding within the depths of her mind, filled with mature content and twisted themes, so tread with caution!
This book has a story and some really hot scenes! You have a fun spin on the story of red riding hood, but it is now a dark prn. There are minor errors seen but nothing annoying. This is a completed story and I feel like so many things are left out, however, it said these characters make appearances in the following books. Maybe that is the reason? It is a short fun read if you're in a big series rut. You have some fun tropes like knotting and virgins.
Bleeding Red sure wasn't the Little Red Riding Hood I grew up knowing. I mean sure there's an intriguing wolf shifter and a sexy huntsman but then you add in a mysterious imp for a spicy and entertaining spin on this classic tale. I liked that Red wasn't what everyone expected her to be but instead a fiery force to be reckoned with. After this interesting twist I'm left a bit curious to see how things play out for this quad in the future and how the next fairytale will unfold.
I have just discovered this trope of twisted fairy tales. I loved the authors creative liberty here and turning a classic into something dark and intense. I adored every page and read it straight through!! The heroine and her men are something else! I can't wait to read more by this author. It was gripping!
This is the first red riding hood retelling I've read and really enjoyed. This is a reverse harem between red, the wolf, rumple, and the huntsman. Great story line, some funny points and decent smut scenes.

I have never imagined reading about Red Riding Hood this way, but I found that I loved it! The writing style is fantastic. The storyline is, well, wicked.
No lie, the book comes with a warning, and I think it really needs to, and could maybe even be a little stronger. Here it is in case you didn't see it above:
Warning: This story is intended for mature audiences. It includes foul language, sexual scenes, and graphic violence. This twisted Little Red Riding Hood retelling isn’t for the faint of heart. I’m not kidding when I say it could even be a little stronger. This is not a knock against the author or the book, but everything was a little more graphic than I was even expecting including the violence and the sex. However, Chapman is certainly good at descriptions! I wouldn’t mind if there were a few more of them, though, as I still don’t have the clearest images of the characters (I didn’t know Rumple had white hair until well after we meet him, and Hunter is called "exotic" but we don't find out in what way).
This is sort of a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, but it’s different at the same time. I can see the parallels for sure. It’s not a long book, and the reading goes quickly, but I didn’t really feel like it was too short. At the same time, I also wouldn’t have minded if it was a little longer to build in more character development and a longer ending.
Everyone around her thinks Red is weak, a disgrace to her witch family because they see her as “soft” for being raised largely by her human father. Little could be further from the truth, especially once a hit is put out on her by someone she should be able to trust. Gathering her three mates to form her quad, something so rare it’s considered a myth at this point, Red and her men learn more and more as they go. Little surprises Wolf more than finding out his mate is not the weak submissive girl he first observed as a target.
I do think the character names were a little on the cliche side (Wolf, Hunter, and Rumple are kind of gimme names to me) but they worked. I did like that we don’t immediately jump into Red’s story, ut Wolf's. It was a nice change and made me curious about what was going on leading up to her introduction.
Truthfully, the men, and even Red herself, are not the nicest people. Until they come together there is little more the men care about other than themselves (though Rumple does carry quite a bit of responsibility on his shoulders too). Most, if not all of them, definitely carry the psychological scars of traumatic pasts, though it seems Red and Wolf take the cake on this front. Red is definitely on the fast track to becoming a very dark witch, but it’s perfect for her mates and they do not try to change her. All four of them are very good antiheroes and are unapologetically so.
I was not familiar with what turns out to be termed “omegaverse” so there were a few things I did not understand right off the bat, and it was not explained well in the book. So if you’re in the same boat as me, be ready to pull up Google to look up things like omegaverse and knotting.
There were a few small typos, so a final proofreader might have been handy, but really I’ve seen much (MUCH) worse and it’s not worth even removing a star over. I do think it’s an interesting book, but I think more character development (there’s a little, but I would like to see a little more of the building of connections between all of them) would have made it even better. Explaining some things too (what exactly is the jar?), and maybe not so quick a wrap-up at the end. But there is NO cliffhanger, which is insanely important for me as a reader.
This broadened my horizons in a way a book hasn’t done in a while, I’ll give it that! And I do like Red and her boys. I’m curious to see where things go with them in the future!
This is a sort of twisted retelling of "Little Red Riding Hood." Twisted in that there is a wolf shifter, a red cape, some treats in a basket, and a grandmother involved...but that's mostly where it stops. And I'm good with that. The story was interesting from start to finish. It's a short read so I was able to start and finish it within the same night. It ends on what could be a bit of a "to be continued" but also where it could just be wrapped up and you'll feel satisfied by that. The story follows a witch as she attends her last year of schooling to get away from her mother and grandmother. She needs to finish and graduate to have her magic unbound and released fully. While there she meets her 3 mates; a wolf shifter (that was sent there to kill her by her grandmother), an imp, and a huntsman. Together they set out to right the wrongs done to her and set her free; so to speak. I can't really say much more without giving away all the spoilers for the book.
The men are unapologetically themselves. The wolf is a bit callous, overly blunt, and extremely cocky. The imp is a bit cheeky, takes what he wants without care, and also extremely cocky. The huntsman is ... there. I mean, his character was the least fleshed out of the three. I wanted to know more about him because I feel like he might have been the "sweetest" of the three but once he appeared the story started to wrap up quickly.
I was entertained throughout the entire story and there was definitely a lot of steam, as well as action and an actual plot.
My only slight issues were the following: It felt a bit rushed; jumping from meeting and mating with them to feeling like it's months later when in reality it was only days. It felt like she KNEW them so well but had only really been around them for a few days. I think my mind struggled a bit during that, feeling like I missed a big chunk of time. It wasn't that big of a deal but it did throw me slightly while reading that bit. And, while I like that the males were alpha jerks, I feel like there should have been a little...tiny...very small change in them after mating with her. Not making them weak or anything, but maybe a bit more "loving" towards her. At least, in more ways than just the "bedroom" parts. They were protective and possessive but I never quite got the "I hate everyone in the world but you, my everything" feel from them. Not that it had to have that, but usually the extreme jerks have a moment where we see even just the slightest hint at another side of them for her and her alone.
However, none of those "issues" really bothered me, just things I noted while reading that kept me from feeling completely satisfied - hints the 4 stars instead of 5. I did really enjoy the story and would recommend it to anyone that likes dark paranormal/supernatural stories with alpha mates, reverse harem, magic, lots and lots of steam, knotting, and imaginative retellings.
Little Red Riding Hood seeks vengeance and power in this dark, erotic omegaverse story!
This is not the Little Red Riding Hood that my momma read to me when I was a child. This Red Riding Hood attracts a harem of a big, bad, smirking wolf shifter; a mischievous imp with a secret yet to be revealed; and a talented, huntsman to help her in her quest to kill her mother and grandmother.
This story is told in multiple POVs of Red, Wolf, Rumple the imp, and Hunter the Huntsman. We begin with Wolf and in the first two chapters we are introduced to a bored, alphahole Wolf who wanders from town to town making a living as a hitman. I found it a little difficult to get hooked by Wolf as I "listened" to his thoughts about endless one night stands, but I stuck it out and was rewarded at the end of chapter two with the hook to continue reading. Wolf is hired by a little, old lady to kill her granddaughter. This is where our story begins because it's when Wolf meets his prey Red, they are immediately drawn together. Wolf informs Red why he is there and that information tempts her dark side to seek vengeance against her grandmother for hiring Wolf and against her mother for killing her father and baby brother. POVs continue to pass from Red to her lovers as they hunt and kill Red's enemies.
This book is a reverse harem, dark romance with omegaverse traits. It's my first venture into an omegaverse world, but I was relieved the author took into consideration that some of her readers may not be well versed omegaverse fans. To educate those of us new to omegaverse, DE Chapman uses Red's belief that fated mates or "alpha and omega pairings, is nothing more than a myth— a fable supernatural beings created in an effort to explain their cross-species relationships.” Then as her fated mates are drawn to her Red begins researching the history of fated mates and it's through her readings that we learn the history and "rules" of fated mates in an omegaverse.
This book has a lot of bloody violence, sex, and cursing. It ends in a HFN (Happy For Now) with Red and her harem attending her academy with future plans of taking over her mother's coven. The author hints that they may encounter trouble with others over their quad relationship because of its uniqueness. According to a note from the author Red and her lovers will continue their stories through the series.
Bleeding Red is a quick, enjoyable read that told the story of Red and the big, bad Wolf in a dark, erotic tale. I highly recommend DE Chapman's Bleeding Red, the first book in the Twisted Tales series for any adult seeking a dark, erotic, reverse harem story set in an omegaverse.
After reading "Wolf", I was excited to see where DEC was going to take the already twisted children's story. There are a lot of twisted fairytale out right now. I've read quite a few of them. Some I've really liked, others . . . 😫Well not so much. This one was entertaining with how dark it got. The characters not only enbraced their darkness, but reveled in it. Mayhem and murder, s3x and blood, assassins and vigilantes, vengeance and revenge - this book has it all even for how short it is. I'm intrigued to see where the author will take the next twisted fairytale about a certain princess after the not so subtle hint so dropped. Hmmmm🤔 (Let's just say I can't wait till July)

In case you are wondering why this story is so familiar, it's because it was released in an anthology before. However it's been retouched and released as it's own story.
Remember Little Red Riding Hood? Well, she's all grown up now and her story was definitely not a happy one. And the big bad wolf? Well, he definitely is still bad, but he's a lot hotter and sexier! D.E. Chapman did a wonderful job with this retelling. I'd definitely loved the twists she weaved into it and damn, our Red is one lucky girl! This is a darker twist to the original fairy tale, and if you are a fan of fairy tales retelling and darker romances, this one is definitely not one to miss out on at all. However, if you don't want you fairy tale to be ruin, keep away. Let us naughty ones enjoy!
I love the Author's twist on the red riding hood it was so interesting to see familiar characters that were still unique. Wolf is a hitman and he accepts a job by Red's grandmother to kill Red. She decides to spice things up a bit and makes a deal with him and begins her quest for vengeance with two others called Rumple and Hunter. I wish there was more development for Rumple and Hunter but I guess that's for another time. This was really interesting and I can't wait for the next book.
This is a twisted Omegaverse tale of red riding hood. I really liked this author's take on this fairytale. Omegaverse is one of my favorites to read right now and I also love fairytales so this was a great combination for me! And it is a reverse Harem as well. And I love who ends up being her Alpha's. One of my favorite things is how Red isn't at all what you'd expect from the fairytale! Over all a great read!
I enjoyed it. I've read several of the new fairytale books and this one is really good. I really like how it's delving into omegaverse. I wish there was more character depth with the Hunter and Imp. I like where the series is going and I'll definitely be reading the next one.

This is definitely not the red riding hood that I grew up with. It was so much better. It is pure revenge and drama. I never realized red was so bloodthirsty. This is definitely not for kids. It is a great read.
