Joey Weston Webb was born in Hazard, KY on September 11, 1980. He was an avid reader from a young age and showed promise as a writer early. His favorite genres are horror, sword and sorcery and science fiction. He spent the years following high school bouncing from one dead end job to another in Indiana, Oregon and his native Kentucky. Encouraged by friends and family, he began to take his writing more seriously in his mid-twenties. In addition to short stories, Joey also writes poetry, usually with dark themes. After entering several short story contests with encouraging feedback, Joey began thinking of pursuing writing as a viable career option. He put together approximately 20 short stories and sent them off to several publishers. After a number of rejection letters and attempts to censor and water down his work, Joey decided to self publish.
Wanted: Undead or Alive by Joey Webb is an engaging and gritty start to the series that pulls you in quickly with its action-forward pacing and darker tone. The world-building is clear and immersive, and the story wastes no time establishing stakes, danger, and momentum.
What I appreciated most is how easily it sets the foundation for what feels like a much larger saga. The characters are intriguing, the premise is solid, and the plot keeps moving without getting bogged down. A strong opening installment that leaves you curious about where the story and its characters will go next.
