Toby has escaped the clutches of a flesh hungry hag, fled the desperate grasp of a vengeful ghost, survived a harrowing trial orchestrated by a brutal prince, and inexplicably given away the gold that could have secured his life against the onslaught of all enemies.
And yet it seems there is no end to the calamity that haunts his world when he discovers that wizard deals are sealed by his blood, that cave dwelling creatures are as treacherous as they are cold blooded and that the white dragon is as terrifying as the legends claim.
With new enemies, old allies and ever-escalating danger lurking at every turn Toby must find a source of magic so powerful his enemies would throw themselves at his feet in terror and defeat, whilst his allies would bury him under a blitzkrieg of devastating treachery and steal its power from his dying grasp.
Buy the second book in the series that casts new light on King Arthur’s legend as a series of catastrophic events push Toby to the edge of ruin and test the strength and courage of his new friendships.
Ian has been a fan of reading since childhood while sharing his bedroom with elves, orcs and the occasional troll, but writing didn't arrive at his finger tips until much later. It wasn't until 2010 with the global rise of fantasy based movies that Ian rediscovered that desire to write.
And so the Red Dragon series was born, inspired by everything that is fantasy from Tolkien to Potter, including the glue that brought everything together in the Red Dragon series, the legends of King Arthur.
In June 2023, Ian decided to take a year out from his chiropractic career and concentrate on his writing. He bought a ten metre sailboat and is presently travelling around the UK, anchoring in the most stunning locations, and writing … plenty of writing. Follow his adventures on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
Ian has a sense of adventure and has ridden a Royal Enfield motorcycle across the Indian Himalayas, back-packed across Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and Cuba, and hung out of many trains while travelling across India.
Long and confusing at places, it made me have to backtrack to follow the plot. I even had to skip pages further along as I tried to get the drive to keep reading this tale of a bunch of teens and young adults navigate the day to day happenings in a magical village.
Having fun with this series! Its like watching a really good Disney Movie with Harry Potter mixed in! Leaves me smiling and ready for nice dreams at night.
A magical adventure. Three teen friends go on an adventure in magical lands. Confusing in spots. The author created a very original, interesting world that has wonderful characters.
I do enjoy this rewrite of the series. I love the way the Red Dragon was awakened, the unusual creatures that the three friends encounter. I am not sure what to believe…is Merlin good, bad, or indifferent. I am glad that Toby has found out Fay’s secrets and that they have patched up their friendship. This is a fantastic approach to the Arthurian legends! Loved it!
