A single father with everything to protect
and a bodyguard willing to risk it all for him.

LAWRENCE
It's every father's worst nightmare: someone is stalking my family and my daughter is at risk. And I will do anything to protect her. Including hiring the tempting bodyguard with curves I ache to explore and a sharp tongue that leaves me wanting more.
As much as I want this sexy bodyguard, I can't risk scaring her away. Not when the stalker is closing in around us.
But living together in this house and not falling into each other's beds is proving too difficult a task.
Will we have the chance to explore the passion between us? Or will the threat that has been looming over us take everything away?

YAEL
I have one goal: protect the client at whatever cost. And when I meet my newest ward, an adorable and sassy ten year old girl, I know I will risk anything to protect her.
But am I willing to risk losing my heart to her father? The doting and loving father who has ignited this spark inside of me is clear that he wants more than just my protective services.
While my body wants to give in, my head is screaming for me to run.
And when the unimaginable happens and everything I care for begins to slip away, I finally realize that it's too late: I've already lost my heart to this man.
But what if I'm too late?

I have loved romance novels since I was a teen, sneaking them into my Bible studies at my all-girls Catholic school. I love strong heroines who know that the men that may come into their lives are always the icing, and never the cake.

Thanks to my own marriage, I have learned that the challenges of life can only help to make love stronger and I am grateful to my husband for embodying all the magic that love can offer.

When I am not writing or dreaming up new love stories, I am working as a social worker in a retirement community outside of Boston that provides me with enough writing material for ten lifetimes.

ARC for honest review with no compensation

Defended is book 3 in the Hazak Private Security series by Jade Webb and a great addition to this series.

If you read the other books you know that Gabby, Daphni have all been threatened and the Hazak Security has been hired to protect them. Up next is their brother Lawrence and his daughter and the sexy, curvy bodyguard, Yael who will do whatever it takes to protect him and his daughter.

Sparks fly, stalker, twists, turns, wanting to keep it professional, but can love bring it all together? Only time will tell…

Yael was love starved growing up. She was raised by a father too preoccupied in teaching her to be safe and strong that he neglected to show her any other emotions. She, wanting to make her father proud took a page from his book and shut down her emotions as well.

Lawrence was the complete opposite. He was in fact, perfection. He loved deeply and cared deeply as well. Whether that is his daughter or his sisters and then Yael.

This is their story. Lawrence needs a bodyguard to protect his daughter and Yael is the prefect candidate for that job. But sparks fly and cold hearts thaw.

Defended was a good read. Lawrence is a single dad who has a lot on his plate. He's getting threatening notes and his nanny quits. He needs a new bodyguard and nanny for his daughter, Aria. Luckily Hazak security agency can help him. Yael is a tough strong gal. She and Lawrence don't have a good first meeting but she's the right person for the job. I totally liked that roles were switched in this story and Yael was the bodyguard and not a man. Yael is a great character and I liked Lawrence too. This was is a great story.

What an action packed book!
Yael is a female bodyguard working for Lawrence. I enjoyed all the family interactions and Aria was just adorable.

This is the 3rd book and I am definitely going back to read the other two books in the series.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.

3rd book in a great series

Yael may be ex-military and good at her job, but Lawrence doesn’t think she is the best for protecting his daughter. But soon finds out he underestimated a lot about Yael and what she’s good at. Not only does Aria fall for her, but so does he. Now he has to convince her of that, all while someone is trying to kill them.

Enjoyed the eff entire series

I enjoyed all three books. I would have liked a little more from this last one. Did Yael's father stay until she was out of hospital? What type of wedding did they have? Was it a girl?
