A Captivating Short Story with a Surprise Ending
I was on the edge of my seat reading this well-executed novella, which has plenty of drama, attention-grabbing characters, great dialogue, and intense scenes. It is an engaging and informative read. Ben Gabriel, the main character, is an enigma that can be either a protagonist or an antagonist. This page-turning plot has betrayal, ethnic conflict, manipulation, deceit, hate, and pretense, building up to an ending that I never saw coming. I am looking forward to reading more narratives by this author.

Nothing is as it seems. A soldier turned bureaucrat - still an assassin. A plot in Burkina Faso. Why is the soldier really there? An unexpected twist in the end. I’m looking forward to further adventures with Ben Gabriel. I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.
