The seventh title in the Dating series, originally published in the Tis The Season anthology and now extended into a full length book!
Amelia Lee is in desperate need of a change.
Finally free from her controlling ex-boyfriend, she’s not looking to date someone new, even though all of her friends are encouraging her to do exactly that. One in particular believes she’s found the perfect guy for Amelia. So she sets her up on a blind date.
At a wedding.
Amelia has no idea the guy she bumped into at her friend’s Christmas tree farm is the same one she’s been set up with at a wedding reception. Isaac Jones is a nice guy. A good looking guy. A much younger guy. No way could they be compatible - they have nothing in common.
The more time Amelia spends with Isaac though, the more she realizes he just might be perfect for her. He makes her laugh. He’s a complete gentleman. And they’re definitely compatible between the sheets…
But is he only the rebound guy? Or can they actually make this newfound romance work?
This book is set during the holiday season, and my heroine is a bit of a Christmas grump. It's the hero who's the sunshine to her grumpy, which is kind of a fun twist. 😉

Deck the halls and trim the tree- Christmas is back in the Dating world, and where better to celebrate it than my favorite fictional Christmas tree farm! Festive, swoony, and so heartwarmingly sweet, Blind Date is magnetically charming. The perfect quick, feel good read to have you grinning from ear to ear. I just love every adventure in the Dating world, a series that shines with an exuberant optimism about the magic of falling love, about the power of that special, but illusive spark. Like the rest of the series, Blind Date is full of hope and tenderness, a swoony story told with the humor and authenticity I adore from Monica Murphy.
A Christmas tree farm, a sappy meet-cute, and an unexpected blind date- could you get any cute than that?! Isaac is one of Sullivan Tree Farm's most loyal employees, and at a chipper age of 21 he's an affable, laid back, and fun loving guy. The grinchy but beautiful Amelia captures his attention when they quite literally bump into each other on her quest to find the perfect tree for her families business. And their paths keep crossing from there- until they find themselves unwittingly on a blind date together. No mistletoe needed- they have sparks, but the seem so opposite on paper, and Isaac is 5 years younger than Amelia, who is also fresh off a pretty toxic relationship.
Isaac is basically the dream guy- I mean, he's a peddler of Christmas trees, with the boy of an athlete and the natural cologne of a fir. YUM. But he's also just a sweetie- patient, funny, lighthearted, and refreshingly honest. Amelia might not be sparkly to others, but I related to her straight away- the lone standing single friend stuck in a job chosen for her and coming off a painful relationship. A spry, witty 21-year old doesn't exactly sound like a safe bet. But the two of them are such a great match- she sparks his maturity, he sparks her joy.
And, not only are we treated to a run Christmas-themed wedding of one of our prior Dating couples, but we also have many moments from our favorite Dating girl gang. This was a novella featured in a Christmas anthology that has been expanded, but it's not as long as the other books- so the love is more instant, the story doesn't go into some aspects in depth, but we have the same flirty vibe of the other stories and the fun chemistry exploration that I love so much about this series. And, it's Christmas?! So really, what more could you ask for- Dating and Christmas, one of my favorite matches.
“You’re beautiful. Prettier than any Christmas tree I’ve ever seen, and trust me. I’ve seen a lot of them.”
Blind Date was such an adorable read, and a book that I’ll be, for sure, rereading once it’s closer to holidays. This book tells the story of Amelia and Isaac. Amelia’s a 25-year-old woman, that’s kind of a Grinch (lol) and that had recently jumped out of a toxic relationship. She's going through a hard moment—feeling lost and tired of how predictable her life is, and not very in the mood while working on family business during holidays. And Isaac, he’s a charming, very happy and honest 21-years-old guy, who works at a Christmas tree farm, and that’s not sure about the direction of his life. They’re complete opposites and have their own complexes and insecurities, and, even though their attraction was instantaneous, she’s sure it’s leading them to nowhere, but well… The sparks fly simply since the first time they met, and the book is full of cute, funny and heartwarming moments between them. Blind Date is a sweet story about taking a risk, giving a chance and hoping that the one you trust will be there for and catch you. If you want a warm and cozy story to read and to get in the mood for the holidays, I highly recommend it to you.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
if you're looking for a cozy christmas book, this is for you.
this book has : * younger hero * female friend group * a lot of mentions about the ex (not in the ''i miss my ex'' type, more in the ''my ex was an ex'' type. * hero falls first
5 Star Review of Blind Date (Dating #7) by Monica Murphy
Blind Date was a great addition to the series; it was entertaining and I was quickly invested in the story Ms. Murphy wove.
Amelia Lee is single and finally away from her controlling ex boyfriend and is in no hurry for another relationship even though all her friends are encouraging her to do just that.
Imagine her shock when her blind date for a wedding turns out to be Isaac Jones, the man she met briefly at her friend’s Christmas Tree farm. Amelia knows that the spark of attraction cannot go anywhere. After all she is four years older than Isaac and they are total opposites.
Of course we all know that opposites attract and it was entertaining to watch their relationship develop. Isaac may be younger, but for his age (21) he is extremely mature, not to mention determined. I really liked these two as a couple and was cheering them on.
The banter between them was witty and I loved that the attraction between them is real and if they are brave enough to admit their feelings then they may have a chance at lasting happiness.
Blind Date is a sweet, romantic, yet steamy story about taking a leap of faith and hoping that the one you place your trust in will catch you. It was a great holiday romance that certainly put me in the mood for the festive season .
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this book… but then, I guess I really shouldn’t be since I LOVE Monica so much! The holiday themed romances just aren’t really one of my usual cups of tea. I really enjoyed the slightly older woman/younger man vibes. It was enough for it to be believable and it wasn’t cringeworthy at all. I loved Amelia and Isaac, they were so cute together and their chemistry was great! Fun and entertaining read!
I received a copy of this book directly from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I love Blind Date!! Monica Murphy has delivered a truly feel-good kind of story, complete with a sigh-worthy man in Isaac Jones who brings back the joy in life for one Amelia Lee. I need to be honest and say that I didn't know what to make of Isaac, in particular, given the fact that he is only 21 to Amelia's 25. But age does not make a difference in this tale of the heart and despite his youth, Isaac is clearly the man of Amelia's dreams even when everything in her mind told her the opposite.
With the hurt from her past relationship a huge part of her reluctance for getting close with any man, I thought the way Amelia takes a leap of faith even as her instincts may say otherwise, was well-written. I got her hesitation in starting anything with Isaac despite his easy-going personality and adorable charm. The times she stood up for herself and decided to be truthful going forward were highlights for me showing she wasn't just going to be a whiny heroine or one who couldn't and wouldn't realize how good she could have it if she'd just give love one more chance.
Isaac is a gem and a half. I couldn't get enough of him and his positive attitude. The way he tends to not just his beloved trees but the customers who may drive him crazy with their demands made me smile. It's no wonder everyone from older ladies to young kids to the woman who captured his very soul fell for him as I did. He's a keeper being nothing even close to a rebound guy and I'm thrilled Amelia realized that too.
The entire Dating crew from all the previous books were on hand, providing the best girl time possible. Amelia knew what she had in this witty and sometimes crazy group and I couldn't help but laugh out loud at their suggestions for their friend. I'm glad she took their advice and didn't let Isaac slip from her fingers no matter what her family might think or anyone else for that matter.
What Isaac and Amelia have is something very special, with their passion only growing stronger with each new chapter of this wonderful book. Whether it's time tangled up in each other, being caught up in all the merry at the tree farm, or simply hanging out watching a movie, Amelia and Isaac made Blind Date a truly heartwarming romance and it became so much more than just a sweet holiday-themed story. It's sheer delight and I enjoyed every single word.
Blind Date is set during the holiday season and while I normally don't read too many books like this so early, I couldn't pass up on this one as I enjoy Monica Murphy's writing.
The blurb pretty much tells you all need to know. Amelia and Isaac have an interesting first unintentional meet up and things only get more interesting from there. Amelia struggles to trust another man after her last relationship and Isaac is still trying to find his niche in the world.
I thoroughly enjoyed how Monica allowed this story play out and the characters came across as so genuine. Everything felt so real and authentic that it just made the story all the more relatable.
Blind Date is the perfect, sweet and quick read for romance readers. Add in the holiday setting that just always puts people in better spirits and readers will fall in love with everything.
5 LOVE, LOVE, LOVE STARS!! I loved this book so much!!! It was fun, sexy, age gap and just a perfect read. Isaac and Amelia were the perfect characters that had me flipping pages. What a great story at the holidays....we need something good during this rough time. You must read this book.
Blind Date is such an adorable read. I love Isaac and Amelia so so much. Isaac is such a sweetheart and hard worker on the Christmas tree farm. Amelia is a little lost and not so much in the holiday spirit especially while working for her family business during the holidays. Just wait and see those sparks start to fly from the start. There is so many cute wonderful moments between Amelia and Isaac that you are going to fall in love with. This book is filled with such heart warming moments that will help bring in the holiday spirit. I'm so in love with this book and Amelia and Isaac. Isaac and Amelia just glow with Christmas spirit in this one. I loved every moment of this one and could not put it down. You really need to read this one and see what happens in Blind Date today.
Isaac and Amelia are just so adorable to read. I loved their life differences and I loved that those are what made them fit together. They're like the right puzzle pieces to each other. They have amazing chemistry. I loved seeing them trying to find themselves and what they really want in life and of course, they found each other. And that scene with Amelia's family was so heartwarming and sweet!
Oh my gosh, I am absolutely in love with this adorable book!
Isaac and Amelia are so damn cute it hurts.
Amelia is suffering after a bad break up. Being in a toxic relationship has taken its toll on her and she’s lost, scared and bitter. After a chance meeting with a guy at a Christmas tree farm and a wedding set up she meets a guy who finally brings a smile to her face.
Issac is young and not as experienced in love, he’s keeps himself to himself and works himself hard to make people proud of what he’s accomplished. He’s handsome and rugged and an absolute beautiful person inside and out.
From their first meeting I became obsessed, absolutely everything about this book was captivating and I just couldn’t put it down.
There’s so much that Amelia has been put through and we only get a few insights of just what she’s been through and you just can’t help but feel for this poor woman and the impact that it’s had on her.
The changes you see in her are absolutely beautiful to see, this woman deserves the entire world and that’s exactly what Issac would give her if he could.
I loved how easy their relationship was even with him being younger than her and how supportive each of them were to the other.
All in all everything was just spot on. Their chemistry, their friendliness just everything. I absolutely adored it and I’m pretty sure I’ve said that a few times but but I really did.
This author did an incredible job of bringing these characters to life and brining a story that will keep you hooked from the get go.
This book begins with a swoonworthy meet-cute at a Christmas tree farm. Sign me up! If you like the grumpy sunshine trope in a romance novel, you'll like this one, but it's sort of a reversal from the norm, because in this story, Amelia is a bit of a grumpy heroine and Isaac is a fresh breath of sunshine. After running smack dab into Isaac at the tree farm where he works, Amelia is embarrassed to see the gorgeous man yet again in her family's jewelry store when he comes to deliver the Christmas tree she purchased at Sullivan's Tree Farm. Unbeknownst to Amelia, one of her best friends, Candice, who is soon getting married to the tree farm owner, Charlie, is planning to set her up on a blind date with Jonesie, one of the single guys employed at Sullivan's. Amelia reluctantly agrees to Candice's crazy idea, because what has she got to lose? She's single and would rather not sit alone at a table full of happy couples at a wedding. But, a guy named Jonesie? Really? Her friends will never let her live that down. Planning to appease Candice and agree to have fun for one night, Amelia finds herself pleasantly surprised when her blind date partner is revealed. The romance in this book is open door and super spicy, and well-done, I might add. This is an age gap and an opposites attract romance, where a rich, elegant city gal is matched up with a simple, charming country guy. You'll love their story and the happily ever after. This is the perfect holiday romance to put you in the mood for the season. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you to Valentine PR for providing me with a review copy of this novel in exchange for honest feedback.
Well jingle my bells and trim my tree we are back to my favorite fictional tree farm for a bit of holiday romance with Issac Jones aka Jonsie and Amelia Lee aka our holiday grinchness. A chance meeting at the tree farm has now set the stage for this couple and their escapades. Amelia has just come out of a bad relationship so the last thing she needs is a blind date to her friends wedding but she goes with the brides flow and just let's happen. Jonsie is a man that loves the outdoors, people, and Christmas what he wasn't expecting is the pull to the city gal who appears to be all business. When that chance meeting turns into sitting together at a wedding things are about to steam up more than your cocoa ! They may be opposites on paper but face to face they are so good together. This couple is sweet, funny, have great witty banter and let's not forget that Issac may have brought the swoon factor to the table! Loving this Dating series, what a great group of characters! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
This book balanced the bitterness over finding oneself again after a bad relationship and the nervous joy that comes with starting a new relationship wonderfully. Isaac and Amelia may seem like they’re poorly matched at first, but his confidence and easygoing ways mesh perfectly with her insecurities and worry soon enough. Sure, there’s a tiny age difference. But that doesn’t mean that we have unnecessary angst or drama or nonsense here. Nope. No games are to be played in this relationship! And, even though there’s one almost-mistake, it’s quickly rectified because both parties are mature adults who talk things through before just reacting. So if you’re looking for a book that brings Christmas so close that you can smell the pine and taste the cookies, this is definitely a must-read! Because Isaac and Amelia brought all the warm and fuzzies with this one. The newness of love, the worries of getting it wrong, and the satisfaction of getting it all so very right make this a fabulous story of finding love when your least expect it.
This was such a cute, fun, feel-good read! Monica Murphy is such a talented writer, anything she writes just seems to come together seamlessly.
I loved Isaac and Amelia together, and despite their age difference, they were so perfect for one another. It was so refreshing to see the guy be "all in" and actually feel like he wasn't good enough for her. I would definitely recommend this one as a cute (but steamy) read.
I received an ARC from the author, and this voluntary review is my honest opinion of Blind Date.

Well I have officially read my first set at Christmas book. This book too has a older female character and he is younger than her. Isaac and Amelia are perfect for each other and I don't even think they realize just how perfect they were. Amelia meets Isaac at the Christmas Tree Farm and there is an attraction there. But her friend has also set her up on a blind date during a wedding reception. She wasn't really crazy about being set up because she has after all just gotten out of a relationship. But she agrees to it and is surprised to see that it is the guy Isaac that she met at the tree farm. Your going to fall so in love with Isaac and I thought that he brought the sunshine back in Amelia's life. There a perfect couple and this is a perfect sweet little romance I couldn't put down.
The Christmas season might not be right around the corner yet, but if you're looking for some cosy winter vibes, stop looking and pick up this book. I've been a fan of Monica Murphy for quite some time now, and holy moly, I was really excited to get to read this ARC. "Blind Date" has everything: it's festive, swoony, and just heartwarming all over.
This is the first book I've read of the Dating series, and I'm ready to grab another one right away. "Blind Date" is filled with hope and tenderness, along with the engaging writing from Monica Murphy I adore so much. Both protagonists are so incredibly loveable. Isaac is one of Sullivan Tree Farm's most loyal employees. He's a laid back and fun guy with the sweetest personality while we meet our very own Grinch in the beautiful Amelia. After they bumped into each other, their paths keep crossing from there on - until they find themselves on a blind date together. Amelia felt relatable right away. She's been through a bit, and the charming 21-year-old just doesn't seem like a safe bet after everything. But even though they're opposites on paper, there's no denying the sparks. The two of them are such a great match - they bring out the best in each other.
Even though I might not have read any other books of the series, I didn't feel like I was missing something. I assume, though, it would've been even better reconnecting with some characters. This book is simply the perfect light, feel-good read that will have you grinning from ear to ear. And Christmas is also involved, so what more would you ask for?
What happens when you're at your friends' wedding and at the same time it's a blind date? Well... Amelia will find it out! Candice set her up with Jonesie, the guy who works with her soon-to-be husband. Both are so oppositional but... opposites attract, right?!
Awwwww!!! BLIND DATE by Monica Murphy is the 7th book of her wonderful Dating Series and it was sooooo good to be back with the guys from the previous books! Amelia is 25 and freshly single. Her last boyfriend was such a jerk... now there's Isaac. Awwwww! OMG BE STILL MY BEATING HEART! Isaac is a bit younger and such a cutie! He works at Sullivan's tree farm and so charming! Of course Amelia can't resist him. And he can't resist her as well. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! It made me soooo HAPPY! I loved the chemistry between Amelia and Isaac right from the beginning and I couldn't stop myself from loving them so much. This book showed me that it's always good to trust in yourself and that not every guy is a jerk... there are a few princes out there too. 😉 Thank you for this beautiful love story Monica Murphy! (And I really really hope it won't be the last book of this series... although I know it's the last one... but hope dies last, right?! 😁)
The Dating series was enjoyable, especially being able to watch the characters grow and find love.
Amelia is someone that I always wanted to have her own story. I was glad that she was finally free from her controlling ex. Now the only one of her friends that is single, she gets set up on a date with Isaac. The only catch is that he's younger than her and she worries that they won't be a good match. Is he only a rebound? Or will their relationship last?
This was a great read that put me into the holiday spirit. I definitely felt the Hallmarkish Christmas movie magic take over. The banter was great between Amelia and Isaac. I also loved seeing the girls from the rest of the Dating series come back. It was a little more insta-love than I enjoy, but it was enjoyable and full of chemistry.
Blind Date is another great story in the Dating series. Amelia Lee is a 25 year old woman coming off a toxic relationship. She feels she is a disappointment to her successful family and has lost some of her self worth. She has a great group of friends that we have come to love through the Dating series. Isaac is a 21 year year background character introduced earlier in the series. He is definitely not your typical 21 year old. Mature for his age and a magnetic personality makes him such a lovable character! However, he has limited experiences and his own set of insecurities. Amelia and Isaac meet by chance and feel an instant attraction but are they able to trust each other and take a chance on love? Wonderful story with bonus glimpses of the previous characters make this a great read! Definitely recommend!
My first holiday book of the year and it did not disappoint! I loved that the book was set in November and December but that the majority of the book was setting up to Christmas! It was the perfect mix of both holiday and normal life!
Issac is adorable and honestly reminded me of a golden retriever in the way that he was honest and happy most of the time. You could tell his happiness was contagious with every person he met including Amelia. Amelia was having a rough go at life and needed someone who could help her see the happiness in life again and that was Issac. Not to say they both didn't have insecurities to worry about but they handled all their problems well and in a realistic manner!
This book was exactly what I needed in my life and I was sad when it was over!
This book was just what I needed to get me in the holiday spirit! ‘Blind Date’ is such a fun and feel good read, and I absolutely loved getting more from Amelia and Isaac.
From the beginning to the very end, Amelia and Isaac’s story was full of sweet and fun moments. Isaac may be younger than Amelia, but he brings out a different side of her. She’s hesitant at first, but Isaac is hard not to love. He’s sweet and charming, and extremely honest. He helps her see things in a different light, not to mention their chemistry is off the charts!
I’ve loved the entire dating series, and I’m so glad that we got to visit with those characters as well. This book truly is the perfect holiday read!
Blind Date is the seventh book in the Dating Series about Amelia and Isaac - holiday, age gap, opposites attract. This was such a delightful, feel good holiday romance that I enjoyed so much. Heartwarming with a great mix of romance, steam and humor that really puts you in the holiday spirit. I loved Blind Date and can’t wait to re-read it again.
I love this series and I LOVED Amelia and Isaac. She puts too much pressure on herself to be what she thinks she should be, and he is not pressured at all. But, they both doubt themselves a little too much. Basically, they are perfect for each other and I loved going on their journey with them!
Holy hotness Blind Date!!!! Amelia and Isaac are off the chart perfect together! Such an unexpected couple, at least from Amelia’s perspective in the beginning. Isaac is just the ‘boy’ at the tree farm who is sexy as sin, but way to young for her. Candice has other ideas setting Amelia up on a blind date for her wedding with none other than Isaac. Amelia is still so torn since she truly likes Isaac. He becomes the swooniest wooer ever! This man could wear anyone woman down. Watching Amelia realize who she really is underneath through her relationship with Isaac was just amazing. Loved watching their love grow! I hope we get to see them in the future!!
Blind Date is the 7th installment of the Dating series.
Amelia Lee never had a huge part in the other books because of her controlling relationship she had previously with "he who should not be named". I couldn't really remember much about her based on that alone, but Monica Murphy sucked me right back into the Dating World to where I felt like Amelia was a long lost friend.
Amelia has a black heart who loves her friends, but is bitter about all their relationships. Based off the fact that she used to be the only one in a relationship.. and they weren't. Their roles are now reversed and she absolutely hardens at it.
Blind Date was a quick read for me. It was exactly the book pick me up I didn't know I needed. Amelia & Isaac's story is everything I never knew I wanted.
