Edmund Schluessel is a sci-fi writer who holds a PhD in astrophysics and teaches mathematics. Originally from the US, he is currently living in Helsinki. His written work has received an ESFS (European Science Fiction Society) 2020 Chrysalis award for emerging authors. An avid social justice activist, in 2018 he organized the biggest demonstration against Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in his adopted home of Helsinki.
In January 2020 he released "Infinite Metropolis", a book written in collaboration with Mikko Rauhala, which includes 12 intricate and connected stories about a Manhattan that goes on forever in every direction. The book has inspired the sci-fi audio drama of the same name and makes for a captivating read as it tackles heavy subjects that draw the reader in!
