With my core enhanced by runes of power, I'm progressing faster than any cultivator in Acalia.
Headed to defeat the Forest Tower, Astra, Brea, Minh and I are ready for whatever this strange world can throw at us. Unfortunately, not all is right in Acalia.
With another tower to climb, monsters to kill, and rival cultivators testing me, I'm going to have my hands full.
Unforeseen allies and a gorgeous new companion are exactly what we need to make the climb.
Just when you think it cannot get any better Atlas Kane delivers more than to be expected. I only read the first book last week and I was lucky that the next one was released soon after. What an amazing read, the new characters, the character development of the MC and supporting characters is amazing to see, my only regret is that it wasn't twice as long! I'm eagerly anticipating every book in this series, and hope the author gets the writing bug and can't stop printing words.
Sehr gut geschrieben, war wie das letzte mit schönen Umschreibung und mehr als zufriedenstellend. Mir gefielen wie die Szenen eingespielt wurden und dass man auch was zum Lachen hatte.
New members to the retinue-harem-like-vessel-team of the main character. Some Tower climbing. I can't figure out though, why the story and action reads flat to me. Maybe because there are no curves or breaks to the story. Main character was a total loser in his last life as a call center salesman that never got anywhere with his platonic red-headed love. Saves her life, sacrifices his own, and in another life, they turn out to be total breeding and seducing studs, just because the author writes it in this way. With no training, no charm, no charisma, no powerful strength, no incredible magic, no seducing talisman, magic book or special rune, turns all of the "vessel-girls" around him into lascivious women from another world that simply can't get enough. It's delusional that the author not even with magic or super natural powers, or fictional-fantasy explanations, turns the main character into the most desired bachelor. Of course, the author, and author like this one, I call them: "wet and wild dream book geeks" have not an inkling of sexual experience, seduction knowledge or any idea of how women fall in love. So I guess this is a kind of therapy for these authors, they get to lessen their sexual ineptitudes by "dreaming" of a fictional character that can do it all and pinch hit for them. Although this fantasy-isekai novel series has 4 volumes to date, they are not interesting nor entertaining to read. Although this series is better written and thought out than other of the author's novel series, I feel he still needs a lot of work to do to be able to create a story that readers can like.
I tried to like this series. I thought perhaps the first book had some growing pains; perhaps I wasn't in the mood at the time. Or perhaps things will get better. I was wrong. This went from terrible to worse. All the same problems if the first book are still here, but even more noticeable. Still lots of strange dialogue as if characters aren't responding to each other. Still plenty of cringy exchanges and over the top white knighting. Dramatic shifts in tone and writing style still scattered throughout the story, like the book was written by multiple authors. Still very little character development; females are still throwing themselves at the MC for no reason. Writing is still often broken into single sentence paragraphs similar to chat logs of people who press "Enter" every few words because they can't form coherent thoughts. This is acceptable for everyday usage (eg emails, online reviews) but is simply lazy in book form. I tried another of this author's series and results weren't much better. Often authors with modest technical writing ability are saved by their storytelling ability. Not the case here. Lots of much better alternatives.
He kept it up, the writing was good. It didn’t feel forced, it felt a tad rushed for my tastes, like the Wyvern Academy books (if you’re familiar with those), if less dense in subject and not as many info dumps or pointless things added in as that particular series did in books three and four.
Regardless of the pacing, it was still a well written story with the same level or character development and comedy that I appreciate as a reader. As for faults... other than the pacing, keep in mind it is a harem book, they have stupid rules when it comes to women falling for men but this one is borderline romantic about it and not in a creepy 100-something-year old-sparkly-vampire-going-after a-teen way. The hero isn’t just op, he’s got a weird sense of honor, and most importantly he’s not a d-bag or overconfident. All in all he Kane and his characters put on a good show. It’s well worth the read, and here’s to the hope that reading book 3 in the future will be as pleasant.
Rin an his vessels continue their mission and adventures to defeat all 7 towers of Acalia .
Rin was brought to Acalia to take down the corrupt towers an save the people of Acalia . The stone tower was defeated by him an his vessels . As he grew stronger he was able to add more vessels to his side to aide him in his mission next was the Forrest tower the Forrest tower changes every so often that is what happened the tower changed with new monsters an new attacks him an his vessels were the first to attack the tower with new reset of monsters defeated it they did but it wasn't easy it took them all to do so or die so they didn't have a choice in the matter . excellent series recommend reading .
Copy and paste my review for book 1 here; it's a tower-climb book, and towers will be climbed. To my mind, this series is good for a max of five books, but with seven towers I fear some filler will be involved. There is no rule that it has to be one tower/book, and five books seems about right for this story.
Unrelated milestone; this is the 1000th book I've shelved here since I started using Goodreads about three years ago. How, you ask? At the peak in 2019 I managed to beat my intention to read one book a day (395 total for the year) but that took some doing and I won't likely repeat that feat. The 2000th will come a bit slower than 1000 did.
It has a leveling system, dungeons (they are actually 7 towers), a mysterious God that gave the MC a quest, side quests, upgrading your gear, passion, compassion, a MC that isn't overpowered but bc of the mysterious God, the only person that can become strong enough to save the world. I'm missing other things and don't want to spoil everything but it's a great adventure. You will not regret this read. If hanky panky isn't your thing, there is only a few and they are short. Most of the book is about the Adventure and the life the MC creates with his Bonded Ladies
This was meh. I'm on the fence about dropping the series. It isn't badly written, it's just that what happens doesn't interest me much. The same things from the previous book still annoys me.
The one time use items really gets me. Why can't he use his special vision to make spells from plain rocks or something? Him only being able to do stuff in his work shop, and when his supplies are done he is in trouble is not interesting to read.
I may pick up the sequel if I don't have anything to read, but I won't get it and keep it until ready like I do other books.
I got bored and changed channel There was nothing offensive or aggravating, I've just read this story a dozen times before. If I'd read this one first I'd have been riveted. But seeing how this isn't the first time or even in the top ten I couldn't focus. So if your new to the Fantasy Cultivation / Harem / awkward Sex scenes / Isekai / sent by the goddess to save the world / Light Novel genre then stick around. But if you've read them all but this one... Well then save this book for when you have trouble falling asleep.
Continues to be an enjoyable story as the team grows. The Forest Tower reveals much of what is happening in Acalia and has stressed just how much Rin needs to grow and grow fast. Ends on an interesting cliffhanger that definitely peaks my interest for the next book.
The action is boring, the characters rely on OP skills and plot armor. The day to day actions are unbelievable. Nothing about the story or world match up to the outcome of their actions. It is lazy writing. That said, it is a solid idea which is why I have it two stars rather than one.
Another good book in the series where the author has improved the characters depth from the first book which one of my only slight annoyance from that book. The characters are progressing in building strength and increasing team members as they work towards the goal of clearing the 7 towers. Enjoyable story that I am having fun reading.
Love this series so far. It’s a nice change to the normal style of isekai stuff and it’s nice that the MC isn’t OP from the get go and they struggle in the battles. I’m going to finish this series to catch up and then start one the others you’ve written. Thanks for all you do :)
Good but really didn't need the minor cliff hanger at the end
Good 2nd book in the series. I do feel like the tower took a little bit of a back seat to other conflicts. Not a huge fan of the ending, I feel like it could have ended without that last page two.
Second book in this series and once again the author has me hook line and sinker. It has a decent pace and fantastic relationships. Book ends on a minor cliffhanger but does not ruin anything. Cannot wait until the next book.
A really stellar and thoroughly entertaining adventure! The stakes involved with the characters journey really keep you engaged and overall its just a fantastic read!
Ron is getting better and better each book. I’m looking forward to the next one! I hope I don’t have to wait too long. But I will be happy to if it means the quality stays as high as it is.
Good second book, editing was good, very few mistakes. I like the map and the character illustrations throughout the book are good too, not many other authors do that.
I love this book, and the series in general. Seeing our hero and his vessels grow closer, stronger and more deadly is always entertaining and fighting against the threats and challenges is always a page turner.
The adventure continues with more surprise and new responsibility grows. A different harem based on love and trust, building as time passes by.Awaiting to see what happens when the next vessel shows up.
Loved the steady pace the book moves, can't wait until the next book releases. Although I have seen the book in the amazon store for some time and in my library, I wish I had started sooner, absolutely exquisite series
The sure sign of a good story is when time ceases as you are transported. And this? This is a really good story! It's all adventure and excitement and I cannot wait to travel with Rin and his fiercely beautiful vessels to the next tower!
Book two was a great read as well. The story is getting more interesting as the cast of characters expands. And as soon as this review is submitted I will be moving on to something else by Atlas Kane
I am enjoying the steady progression in all aspects of the story. Plot, relationships, as well as his advancement in cultivation. Looking forward to reading volume 3!
I have enjoyed reading this series so far and believe that will probably remain the same. Has a great balance of slice of life, action and romance. I have enjoyed the vessels the mc has found so far. Looking forward to the next book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The story and characters were intriguing and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book and series is definitely worth reading.
Light hearted, yet intense, adult fantasy, light LitRPG, magic, humor, adult scenes, good character development and interaction, this book has it all. Oh, and super cool art thrown in here and there. Love it! On to book 3!
If you like cultivating harems and a good story then this series should be a must buy, its not heavy on fighting and does have the normal tropes of this genre but does it in a way that as a good storyline should a bit of humour a bit sexy and some slice of life.
