A steamy fated mates, second chance paranormal romance
My body. My choice. Or at least, it was, until the Fae Winter King hit me with binding magic and insisted I make banshee-human babies. If I refuse, the binding magic will likely kill me.
I have no choice but to comply with my sovereign’s order. Not if I want to live.
But when I meet my fated mate and discover he is no human man, but instead, a mighty dragon shifter, everything changes.
Now I am expecting a beautiful fae-shifter child, and I could not be more excited. Ben and I are headed for our happy-ever-after and I can’t wait to be a mother to his son.
Until the Fae Winter Queen sends our lives into a spiral of horror and destruction with her curse.
Will Ben ever forgive me? Will my frozen heart ever have the chance to thaw?

I think this one was my favourite. I was intrigued by Lady Rhenna since book 1. Her story was heartbreaking and i'm so happy that she got to have her happy ending. Definitly gonna read more from this author.
Some Quotes: "It's my womb, I thought. I should be able to choose for myself if, when, and with whom I have children."
"The problem with feeling, is that sometimes it hurts. So damn much."
Banshee Quest tells the Story of Renna, the curse/task set upon her by royalty and her journey towards true love.
Broken in 2 parts. The first tells her story prior to her children’s birth (featured in the trilogy of books previously published and finishes with a section post the trilogy.
Enjoyable read, and nice to hear her backstory further and to learn her motives.
BANSHEE QUEST : Renna’s Curse is the four instalment and novella in Jen Katemi’s adult, BLOOD FAE CHRONICLES paranormal/fantasy romance series focusing on the hybrid children of Winter Fae Renna. This is banshee Renna and dragon shifter Ben’s story line. BANSHEE QUEST can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: A banshee is part of Irish mythology; a fae or sprite whose keening wail warns of impending death.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Renna and Ben) following two time lines (present day and thirty five years in the past) BANSHEE QUEST follows Winter Fae Renna as she is ordered by the King and Queen of the Winter Fae to personally repopulate the Banshee line with half-human hybrids, as she is one of the few remaining Banshees alive. Sent to the Earth realm, Renna finds herself up close and personal with Ben, a dragon shifter, and the man with whom Renna will fall in love but a curse against our heroine by the Winter Fae queen forces Renna to leave Ben, and embark on a journey to repopulate her kind, a task meant to reinforce the Winter Fae queen’s power and control. Fast forward to present day wherein Renna has been reacquainted with three of her daughters, and is determined to find the man whose heart she destroyed years before.
BANSHEE QUEST is a story of family, loss and acceptance; of revelations and love. The relationship between Ben and Renna begins as an assignment but our heroine never expected to fall in love, let alone with a dragon shifter and her future mate. The fast paced premise is entertaining; the romance is passionate and hot; the characters are powerful, determined, colorful and captivating.

This book is both a prequel and a sequel to the Blood Fae Chronicles and it is the story of Renna, the mother of the hybrid daughters we get to know in the chronicles. We get to see why Renna birthed so many daughters and why she left them all motherless, back in the human world thinking she cared nothing for them. In this book we also see the mistake she had made which turned the Queen’s ire against her. We get to know her true love and to share in the pain of the loss of their son. I love the fact that she seeks forgiveness and closure and is not afraid to take a chance on love once Queen Rhiannon is dead and her curse is lifted. The curse had not only made her birth sterile daughters but had turned her heart to ice and when the curse was lifted the flood of emotions which she had been deprived of for so long nearly overwhelmed her. This is a much needed filler to the chronicles as I do believe many readers, myself included have hated Renna as a character, but this makes us see her in a different light completely. This book is aimed at a mature audience as the sex scenes are beautifully erotic and explicit. I really enjoyed this touching story and look forward to reading more tales set in the winter court setting.
Wow, this story was deeply moving! Having met the main female character as a secondary character in the previous three stories, I was excited to read her story and it was worth the wait. I felt the female lead’s pain as her life was co-opted by both the king and then the queen of winter fae in ways that definitely did not demonstrate any concern for her well-being.
The male lead was sympathetic as a character who was caught up in the midst of a whirlwind that he couldn’t see coming and had no influence over. I really felt that this story was primarily the female lead’s with even the male lead a secondary character, which did not detract from my enjoyment.
His pain after their separation was tangible and the work they put into reuniting was touching.
The story was dual POV, with a lean to female (reasonable), well written and edited, and a great finale to this set of stories. The author has indicated that she will likely write more in this world but this is a fantastic place to stop in the interim! I received an advanced reader copy and this is my honest review.
I read Book 1 & 2, before this which, although book 4, explains a lot. I feel bad now for disliking Renna, it all makes sense, I think you could read this first, daft as that sounds. It’s unusual for a story to cover such a long time frame too, and the ending blew me away.
