The start of a paranormal romance story. I have not read many in the past years. But I love the author’s writing and gave this book a try. I can say it did not disappoint. Julien is dark and alluring, even though he is young, he exudes power. He is committed to completing his destiny. He has help from an entity, Malick, that is always with him. Malick is an interesting character I really don’t know what to think of him, but I look forward to know more in the series. And there is Theodora, the key to Julien’s destiny. At first he keeps his distance from her, then decides to connect with her for his destiny but the connection between them is so intense that love is inevitable. Julien teaches Theodora the ways of magic but he and everyone around her keeps a big secret from her. To fulfill his destiny Julien may have to make a sacrifice in order to win the war against evil. The cliffhanger tore me up and now I wait patiently for Book 2 &3. I loved the story it had mystery, magic, love and great secondary characters. I really hope for a certain secondary male character find his perfect man in book 2 or 3.

Oh my stars. Where do I begin with this book? Heartstopping, intense, unique, mind blowing. All those words come to mind when I think of Wise Magic. I have been a huge fan of Cyr’s words for a long time now and I have my favorites however, with this story, it was absolutely everything and more. The unique concept of the story, to the fluidity of the characters and the build. It was an utter rush reading this one.
Theodora is a spit fire of a character. She does what she wants on her own terms but the draw she has to Julian is really intense. Especially with the uniqueness that resides within Julian. There is a huge push and pull with these two that gets more intense as things are exposed and how it all plays out. It is honestly one of those books you have to devour and beg for more kind of things.
As a whole, I think Cyr hit it with all the points. Passion. Twists. Intensity. There are honestly not enough words to adequately describe what this book really is. It is one that NEEDS to be read. My heart was racing with that ending and I was utterly shell shocked. I cannot wait to read more in this series because I have so many questions that need answers but I also know that the rabbit hole is going to go a heck of a lot deeper!

This is the first official PNR from Cory D. Cyr! I love the genre already and am familiar with this author and her writing style. Her humor from her age gap romances carried over to this genre. I'm happy about that! Love the humor all throughout this book! There is a huge cliff hanger. So if you don't like that, this might not be the read for you. Her world building skills are solid. I love the friendships formed, as well as the romance! Give her a chance and read this book! I loved it and cannot wait to read the second book in the lineup!

I'm not much of a fan of paranormal romances but since Wise Magic was written by Cory Cyr I decided to give it a try. I was hooked after the first few chapters. The storyline was intriguing. Her characters were interesting and fun. Good vs evil, magic, secrets and of course a love story. She did give us a great cliffhanger. The book did not disappoint. Kudos!
