1911 the moust famous gun in USA.
I have mine since 1979, it a jewel that I never will sell. This book is the real soul and blood of the gun. You can live the history and development of it. How to improve and show your gun like the best property you own.

Excellent insight to a classic American firearm.
The word “soul” as it relates to inanimate objects is usually reserved for items that also merit descriptive terms such as elegant, sublime, and innovative. Mr. Sweeney presents such a machine in its past, present and future-proof forms in such a way that the spirit of John Moses Browning clearly shines through. No other firearm represents the shooting sports lifestyle so thoroughly. A tool, an object d’art, an heirloom, and indeed, a weapon. Few others in the pistol category embody the pursuit of passion, competition and defense so eloquently.

Great 1911 History
This is an excellent book on the 1911. It is not a technical manual but a history. The author has a long history with the shooting sports. A lot of good old fashioned stories that are enjoyable. The 1911 is the focus but the author covers a wide range of pistols. Not only the 45CAP but 38 super, 9 mm, etc. The book is an enjoyable read and I recommend it.

Very interesting book, nice photos. The author sometimes uses informal language which can be a little distracting. Otherwise great book.
