Kennedy:
As a little girl, I spent my summers at my grandparents’ cabin in the Wylder Bluffs.
I didn’t think much of the place then. Now that I’m older—and pretty sure I’m having a quarter-life crisis—I’m feeling extra nostalgic.
I just want to walk through that old house again; the one my late granddad built. I’m in for a huge surprise when I knock on that familiar door.
The cabin is smaller than I remember… Oh and there’s this gorgeous, country-rock god living in it in secret.

Leo:
Split between fighting fires and burnin’ up stages with my guitar, my life is chaotic to say the least. When the fame and attention get to be too much, I get away from it all in my newly purchased cabin in the woods.
Excuse me for being a tad on the grumpy side when a woman shows up on the doorstep of my hideaway.
She’s a sweet, curvy little thing…but she’s insecure about the birthmark on her face and the extra cushion on her hips I love to squeeze. How can I convince Kennedy she’s more than ‘good enough’ to be pictured with me?

She’s perfect.

And mine.

Kennedy gets stuck in the mud on her way to reminisce at her grandparents’ cottage. She knows it’s been bought but is hopeful that the new owner will let her have a look around. From the moment Lee/ Leo opens his front door, he’s been attracted to Kennedy but still wary of who might be out to find him. A great fast paced read with an entertaining storyline. There are some LOL moments amongst the steamy moments between these two. Nice epilogue leading into the next story. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Leo and Kennedy's Story . . .

Sometimes, when life feels overwhelming, we want to return to easier times, better days, the familiar past. Kennedy recalled spending summers at her grandparents’ cabin in Wylder Bluffs. With her current life feeling somewhat oppressive, she starts to feel nostalgic and would love to just visit the old cabin and recall the good memories.

But when she knocks on the door, a grumpy man, whom she will later find out is a gorgeous, country-rock god in hiding, lives there quietly out of the public eye. Leo is a firefighter who uses his cabin in the woods when his fame and the attention it brings get to be too much. Privacy being so important to him, he is not very friendly to the woman who invades his hideaway. But as they spend a little time together, their chemistry heats up. When his identity finally is revealed, her insecurities take over and she is convinced they are not compatible. Can Leo convince her that she is exactly what he wants in his life? Will she give him a chance to prove it?

It all starts with memories and Mr. Bison

Leo is the fourth book in the Wylder Fire Volunteers series and is beautiful, charming, delicious, emotional and smexy. The story is about Kennedy and Leo. She is an estate sale agent who has traveled from Louisiana to the foothills of Wlyder Bluffs. There she wants to visit the cabin that her granddad and where she and her twin brother spent magical summers with her nana and granddad. She looked the place up and found that it is now owned by L.U.V. Holdings so she figures it is unoccupied and she can just get a look inside it. What she was not anticipating was to have a big and very grouchy mountain man open the door and be rude to her.
Lee moved to the foothills of the Wylder Bluffs to get away from things. He has more to get away from than most people because he is actually a very successful country singer, Leo Valentine. He bought a cabin that is on a lake outside of town and is very protective of his privacy. While he is there he volunteers for the Wylder Bluff Volunteer Fire Department. So when he finds a young woman standing on his front porch with her fee covered in mud he is suspicious that she may be paparazzi. But thanks to a visit from Mr. Bison he brings her inside the cabin and directly to his clawfoot tub to wash the mud off. Then he lets her walk around while he follows her, that is after taking her phone away from her.

This story had me laughing and smiling the whole way through. It is well written, has an entertaining story-line and a couple characters who fall instantly. But as they are both hiding something there is misunderstandings and then a whole lot of mud and a visit from Mr. Bison. The epilogue is wonderful, as it circles back to the beginning in a smart way. Plus the chemistry is smexy hot. Leo is another great addition to the Wylder Fire Volunteers series.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!

Can’t say I didn’t warn you.

(Believe me when I say you won’t put it down until the last page is read…you will find yourself getting upset cause someone called, texted or bothered you while reading this one, you will find yourself up at ungodly hours just to finish it knowing you have to be at work early (like 3am early) the very next day) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Wylder Volunteers series is amazing however, each book reads as standalones but why would you read just one when you can read the whole series. Kennedy wants to connect to her past or just when things were so hectic, so she goes home to reconnect to her old childhood cabin that her grandfather built only to get there and there is someone else is living there. Leo is there hiding out from his busy life and just need a breather. When she knocked on the door and this sexy as all get out man is standing in the door trying to understand who/why she is there but neither of them can ignore the intense chemistry pull or the magnetic pull to one another. Kennedy has a birth mark that has made her feel self-conscious but Leo see only her curves and beauty but can he convince her of that and will they be able to find happiness?

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Kennedy is on a nostalgia trip after her relationship ended and that’s how she finds her and her car well and truly stuck in the mud looking at the cabin her grandparents used to live in, swamped with memories and realising that she isn’t leaving anytime soon she decides to see if the current owners would be willing for her to have a look around. But what she is met with when the door opens steals her breath, transfixed by the man in front of her she feels an instant connection and even though he eventually agrees to let her look around the old cabin and she can’t ignore the chemistry she can also feel his reluctance to talk to her, who is this secretive man and could she have found the man of her dreams surrounded by her happiest memories?

Lee is trying to escape the drama that is his life so hiding in the Wylder Bluffs in a remote cabin is ideal, that is until he gets a knock on the door and spies the most beautiful woman he has ever seen asking to have a look around his cabin. At first he refuses but eventually gives in. He soon finds himself smitten with Kennedy, but with his life is she who she claims to be or is this all an elaborate plan to invade his privacy and get the scoop on who he really is, will he realise the truth before it’s too late and he loses what he never knew he wanted and will Kennedy forgive him for his deception?

This was a great story hands down my favourite if this series so far and if you are looking for a quick bedtime read with enough steam and love to send you off to sleep with a smile on your face then this is the perfect book for you. 4.2 hot and muddy stars.

After a relationship turned into a nightmare Kennedy decided to go to the only place she knew to get away, her grandparents old cabin. As she approaches the cabin her car gets stuck in the mud and it's not moving. So she decides to walk up to it. Once she gets there and knocks, she is nervous when she heard a voice on the other side of the door.
Lee is shocked when he opens the door to see a woman who's feet are caked in mud. She asks to come in but I'm not sure I should that is until the big bison is standing behind her. I don't want her in the house but don't want her hurt so I pull her in the cabin and straight to the bathroom to clean her feet. She explains her reasoning that she just wants to look around. I let her look around while I follow her to make sure she's not there for over reasons. Lee likes his privacy but the more she's here the more I want to tell her. After she saw my guitar I decided to play for her. Shocked she says she thinks I look like him!. Leo Valentine. We have a wonderful sexual moment and I realized I need to tell her. Leo goes on the bathroom and transforms to. Leo.
Kennedy is shocked to find out his real identity. Understanding why he was secretive. At first she wants to leave but realizes she has never felt like she was home until she was with him, so she stayed.
All the secrets are out. Leo explained that he is a real firefighter but it's a cover of who he really is. That's ok because Kennedy loves Lee AKA Leo.

Kennedy is coming to her grandparents cabin to refocus and remember memories from her childhood. She has been “off” for awhile now and needs to refocus and renew her positive energy. When she gets to the cabin someone is living there! Leo is big, brawny, brutish and not very friendly. Kennedy explains herself and what she is doing at the cabin. Leo is not thrilled but let’s her go through the cabin and reminisce about her adventures with her grandparents. Leo and Kennedy are throwing zingers back and forth and the conversation is super charged, electric. Leo is definitely infatuated with Kennedy, but doesn’t know if he can trust her. He thinks she might be a reporter trying to get a story about him. These two are magnetic, lovable and just a little crazy - it makes for a fantastic read! This is just a really great story and it is filled with sass, humor, lust, passion, tenderness and just feel good romance.

Leo, the fourth installment of Tarin Lex's wonderful Wylder Fire Volunteers series, is an entertaining and steamy instalove romance - with a brief cameo from Mr. Bison! Needing get away after a bad breakup and a viral meme, Kennedy retreats to the cabin in the woods in the Wylder Bluffs her grandparents used to own. When her car gets stuck in the mud in the long driveway, she hoofs it (barefoot) to the front door, only to find out some big, alpha, sexy mountain man now owns the place. Leo has retreated to his mountain home, moonlighting as a volunteer firefighter, to escape the fame that has accompanied his music career, including growing a beard that has made him unrecognizable. At first put out by the muddied barefooted beautiful woman, he is soon quickly attracted to her sassy quips. This is a highly entertaining and steamy instalove, the banter between Leo and Kennedy laugh-out-loud funny and the sizzle between them scorching. Another fun installment in a must-read series!

After braking up with her now ex boyfriend and reminiscing about her childhood day when she would spending summer at her grandparents cabin, Kennedy decided to visit the cabin. Only to find a grumpy guy, Lee living there now.
Leo is a member of the Wylder volunteer fire department
and he is also the famous country guitar singer, Leo Valentine, but doesn’t want people to know where he lives. When Kennedy spots Leo guitar she asks him if he plays and when he plays and singing his recent song, she is in awe at how much he looks and sounds like the famous Leo Valentine. When Leo finally tells Kennedy he is the real Leo Valentine, she gets upset and wants to leave aright away. For one reason Kennedy is a curvy girl and Leo is tall, gorgeous guy and no way would a guy like Leo want someone like her. Can Leo convince Kennedy she is the perfect person for him.
I am volunteering to leave a ARC review of this book.

On the way to look at where her grandparents used to have a cabin Kennedy's car gets stuck in the mud. She gets out and walks to rest of the way to the cabin not knowing that someone new was living there. Leo is a firefighter and a famous musician. He lives in the cabin and isn't happy when Kennedy shows up. However when he spots a bison nearby he invites her inside for safety. Kennedy can't believe that she's there and is drawn to the secretive man. Things heat up between them as they get to talking. Soon Leo doesn't want her to leave but will his secret have to running from him? Can they be together with who he is?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Kennedy just wanted to visit her old grandparent's cabin, she is hopping the new owner will let her in. "Lee" likes his privacy, so when there is a knock on the door and it's not his dinner he is up set. Kennedy is determined to look around "Lee" is doing his best to push her away, hoping she does not realize who he really is.

This fast read has a unique feel to it than the usually instalove stories, as Leo seems to hide his attraction and pull to Kennedy. And Although their is a draw for Kennedy, her mind is more on the memories of her family. This a wonderful read that is perfect when you want a little escape.

Book four of Wylder Fire Volunteers series. I just adore these volunteers. These men are just out to protect the woman that they meet and this story is no different from that fact. But it is different. He is in trying to take a breather from his real life and hiding out in the cabin that she is heading too to just get her head cleared from real life things as well. He thinks she is someone else wanting to get his story. He doesn't tell her who he is at first, but then when she figures it out and he confirms it she is in shock. With his having not told her who he was right off, is she able to deal with this? Does it bother her that he kept this information from her?

This is book number 4 of the Wylder Fire Volunteers series and is all about Leo and Kennedy. Kennedy is needing to get away from life for a bit so she decides to visit her granddad's old cabin because it reminds her of happier times. When she gets there she meets a grumpy Leo. He tells her that his name is Lee because he doesn't know if she is there to tell everyone that's where he's hiding out at. I really enjoyed this story! The banter between the two was great and I liked that it was fast paced but not too fast. I can't wait for the rest of the series! Definitely recommend this book!

Book 4 in a firefighter series, can be read as a standalone. Lee likes his solitude. When Kennedy knocks on his cabin door, he just knows she's trouble. Kennedy use to spend her summers at her grandparents' cabin and she didn't expect anyone to be living there during her impromptu visit. A minor inconvenience turns into insta-attraction and more. But Lee has a secret. Will Kennedy understand his deception? I like this story because issues are resolved quickly, it's told in dual POV, it's short and sweet with heat and has a satisfying epilogue. Good entertainment!

Kennedy needed to get away from the rat race of life and from her ex-boyfriend. She knows that she can find comfort and regroup her life by coming to her granddads cabin that he built and she visited growing up. It just doesn't make her day when her car gets stuck in the mud and she has to walk in it to get to the front door. But she finds that the cabin is occupied by "Lee". "Lee" isn't too happy to have an unexpected visitor but makes the best of it when he starts to have a connection with Kennedy. But can this relationship even develop when Kennedy finds out that "Lee" isn't really his name? This is book #4 of the "Wylder Fire Volunteers" series. Enjoy!

Childhood memories to forever-lasting love! This is about Kennedy and Leo (Lee). This is a short and wonderful story of a girl wanting to see her old childhood cabin because she needs a pick-me-up and someone who wants to stay away from the media who is not too happy to have someone barefoot and muddy come to his new home! Kennedy is too funny but Leo/Lee who appears to be grumpy ends up being so loveable, the epilogue of this is too funny, right where everything started is pretty much where it ends but much happier! Axl and Maya are next - can't wait to read about these two...

Kennedy wants to see her grandparents cabin just one more time. It is listed online as being owned by LUV Investments but she is hoping it is empty. Her bad day of getting stuck in a muddy driveway is added to the fact that someone now lives there. The storyline has surprises and twists like getting stuck in the mud again in the epilogue. Loved their searching of the house and her pointing out things like the closet safe full of bodice ripping books that her grandmother had. Laughed so much through this wonderful short story. Very heartwarming in the end when stay together. Well done.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Leo is the fourth book in the ‘’Wylder fire volunteers’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When Kennedy decides to check out her late parents old property, she doesn’t expect to find love.
The chemistry between Leo and Kennedy is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

Stuck in the Mud, Again.
Fantastic story. “Lee” is hiding out from the drama that is his life. Therefore, he is not expecting Kennedy to show up at his door unwanted. She just wants to look around her grandparents old cabin. Much to “Lee’s” displeasure. When he finally opens up about who he really is Kennedy is disappointed that nothing can come of them. She thinks they from different worlds. Can Leo convince Kennedy to stay? Enjoy the guitar solo.

I thought that this was a really good book. Leo and Kennedy were cute together. I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two. Kennedy is looking to reconnect with her childhood and getting away from her life for a bit while Leo is "in hiding" from his life. These two are drawn together and can't help it when sparks fly. But when Leo's true identity is revealed, Kennedy has to make a decision about them. I enjoyed this book and I would recommend this book and Ms. Tarin as a great author.

'Leo' Tarin Lex's fourth book in her Wylder Fire Volunteers series tells the story of Leo, a famous musician moonlighting as a volunteer fireman, and Kennedy, who had a recent, very public, breakup and just wants to visit some old memories that were happy.

Ms. Lex has written another fab book to add to her Wylder collection. Two hurt souls meet and feel an instant attraction with banter, sparks, and heat galore. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone who likes a quick but hot read.

Leo and Kennedy meet when she comes up the mountain to see the cabin her grandpa built for her grandma. When she gets there she meets Lee and these two hit it off from the beginning and have you sucked into their story. Lee aka Leo has a hard time trusting people and Kennedy doesn’t like people looking at her birthmark after her ex boyfriend posted a meme about it. You’ll definitely fall in love with the story and characters!

Kennedy was returning to Wylder Bluffs to visit the cabin her grandfather built and she visited with her brother every summer for years. When she got there she was in hopes of finding the place empty, but she found a man going by the name of Lee that turned out to be Leo Valentine. Leo did not know what to think of Kennedy. Was she telling him the truth, that she did not know who he was. A fast paced Insta-love story.

The story of Lee and Kennedy is a quick,.sweet read with no angst, no drama. Kennedy does not have any insecurities. She is simply a regular person who had a bad spot in an otherwise ordinary life. She is adventurous enough to seek out her memories far from home. Luckiky she runs into Lee (Leo) who appears grumpy and gruff. Lee is in turns a grouse, sweet, sexy and determined. This little over the top book is a fun read. 3.5 stars.
