Joleene is not your typical coed found around Fort Campbell. Jo, as her friends and family call her, is independent, strong, and sure of who she is. She is content, even happy, with her life. Colin is the newbie in the company. His ‘good ole boy’ charm is sometimes mistaken for being overly flirtatious, but he’s never let that change who he is. Neither believe they need anything more, but fate has other plans. When their world gets turned upside down, things will never be the same. This is a clean military romance.
I really appreciate that this is a clean romance novel! LlUnlike most romance books, Serendipity truly focused on love instead of lust. I found myself immediately drawn to the main characters and their journey. I smiled constantly at the sweetness and cried, okay I ugly cried, as the... No spoilers... dramatic parts brought up personal memories in my own life. Ones that have made me stronger. Because of that I can already imagine and see Jo's strength blooming beyond the pages of this big. I love the support and unconditional love and especially the fact that Jo's friend are more than friends. They're family.
Joleene meets Colin at the bar she works in, and life slowly progresses from there, albeit after a sticky start.
This is an amazing story of the triumph of Love, Memory and Life. Jo (as her friends call her) has all three. She needs a little more when her husband dies before their baby is born.
A short story, but quite indepth, showing the need of friends around when Life throws a spanner in the works. I enjoyed every page of this story, and enjoyed getting to know the characters therein. Well worth a read for those who enjoy their stories maybe short, but still revealing much within.
If you're looking for a sweet romance that will tug at your heartstrings but is clean and respectful, this is the book for you. It's a sweet story with a few things thrown in to keep you on your toes.
