Sammy O'Connor didn't mean to steal a dragon's necklace...she just kind of did.
Little did she know that the viciously hot and muscled Rax Janvier who would come to claim it -- and her -- would be willing to do anything to get it back. It's a fragment of a key that opens up a lock to his past -- and hers.
Can she survive being kidnapped by a dragon who's obsessed with her? And what happens if she starts to want him back?

The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙💚❤️ Steam: 🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌏 Character development: 🤓😉☺️😍 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Sammy - her best friend Andi is getting married to a wealthy dragon shifter named Damien, and though Sammy is happy for her friend, their paths in life are moving apart and her friend moved out of their apartment. Sammy used to work in an auto parts store, since she knows a lot about cars and working on them. Though she now works as a hostess at a fancy restaurant. The pay is good, but the wealthy clientele is sometimes hard to work with.
The Hero:Rax - he is a dragon shifter whose dragon is locked away. He had been imprisoned for his brother's crime, in chains as magicians pulled his dragon’s form from his body to wrap it around the gate below to keep it closed. His brother betrayed him and tried to open the gate after he had married a human girl who became their family’s downfall. Rax is now a very wealthy man and is going out to eat alone to celebrate 700 years of being free from his imprisonment.
The Story: Sammy opens a wedding gift that is sent to her apartment for Andi, it is a beautiful necklace, though Andi says via text that it isn’t something she would ever wear. It was sent anonymously, so Sammy puts it on and wears it to her restaurant job. When Rax comes in he is attracted to the pretty hostess and while studying her he sees the necklace and knows it belongs to him. It was buried with his brother's wife and is a third of a key to the locked gate that his dragon protects. He wants to put that key back together and set that lock so he can reclaim his dragon before it is too late.
Rax needs to get back what is rightfully his, so he seduces Sammy when he sees how angry she is at her bosses and some unruly customers. They hook up in the wine cellar, getting her fired from her hostess job. Rax tried to break off her necklace while they were intimate, but it wouldn’t budge. Days later he ends up offering her a position at his casino, when she happens to show up for an interview as a bartender.
I usually never say any book is too long, especially an audiobook since they are so expensive. However, this one got quite boring in the middle. I had to back up a few times because my mind started drifting and I was afraid I missed some things. It turned out I didn’t. There was just too much of nearly nothing happening after he kidnapped her. He was going to work every day while she was stuck in his home, they weren’t sleeping together and she was just hating him for forcing her to stay there, and thinking he might kill her at any time.
When Rax and Sammy hooked up the first night they met at the restaurant where she worked, I thought this would be a super steamy one, but after that it became a slow burn, and it was quite a while before they got together again.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Matthew Holland and Bunny Warren. They are both good narrators and do a great job. Matthew Hollands voice is soft and works well for the wealthy shifter. Bunny has a deep voice for a woman, but it is pleasant, and it makes her male voice better than most.
Loved it!!First time reading Lockhart and she gained a new fan!
Apparently this is a spin off series. I didn’t feel like I was missing vital information but I do wish I had read the original series first. Maybe the slight disconnect I felt was due to this.
Rax was amazing! Sexy, strong, and just the right amount of ass hole 😂. His backstory is compelling which led to a terrific end game for him and Sammy. Loved him!
Sammy smart sassy and damaged. Her storyline had a lot of trauma but she didn’t lay down in it. She fought and became a strong somewhat reckless woman. Perfect fit for Rax.
Great secondary character! Looking forward to book 2!
I really had to push myself to skim the last 20%. I like the beginning where she was fighting back with all she learned about kidnappers from documentaries and where he was making stupid mistakes that scared her. However, there was not a good transition between trying to escape/only caring about the necklace and being in love with each other. I didn't like how the only thing the guy tried to get the necklace off was a sharp knife with extra dragon power added to it. He had a treasure trove full of magical items! Try some of them!
It really bothered me that she was whining about being a prisoner at her friend's house. They were protecting her... somehow. I was skimming by that point but I have to assume dragon houses (up to the fence) shield magical energy. After the drowned zombies came after her, I thought she'd be grateful to be safe.
I also didn't like how the brother just said, "Oh, I planned all of this." How did he do anything from behind the gate? What kept the necklace on and why did he know to send it to her? The brother said the bad guys can see possible futures but that was kinda flimsy.

Well...I don't know what happened in this book. I do not understand the characters. I was about half way through when I debated if I just should DNF it. I obviously did not dnf. But I should have. The book started off alright, then it went downhill after chapter 5 (?) and literally the last maybe 3 chapters were actually somewhat good.
I appreciate giving the main characters (Sammy and Rax) personality and a backstory and all that. Maybe this book and the characters and I guess their shifter-self would make more sense (to me) considering this book and series is a spin-off of another series? Or like part of an Omegaverse ? Idk.
Something I kept asking myself: How much can someone be obsessed with the scent of another person? Apparently a lot. Especially when the scent in question is cinnamon. I like cinnamon too, but there's a limit to things. At some point in the first third Rax nicknamed Sammy "Red". Why ? "Mr. Worst" at least made sense. Both nicknames were a choice. Felt very off in the flow of the story.
One of Rax's main plot points was freeing his brother behind some gate, only for that brother to quite literally drive off after saying like 5 words. Good thing this man is apparently getting his own book.
I may have reached my end with paranormal romance audiobooks. I got this as another stuff your airpods day and, of course, went in completely blind. I knew I wasn't expecting high quality literature but I did expect to know what I was listening to when I was listening to it.
A dragon shifter has sex with a waitress named Sammy when she was about to get fired. It was a way to stick it to her boss after all. 🤷♀️ Then he disappears and some drowned thing comes to her apartment, trying to kidnap her. Enter dragon shifter Rax again, who takes her away but then she's his captive somehow. That part doesn't last long because then she pulls a full on Stockholm situation and is boning the dragon guy. She gets loose and is torn and then a billion other chapters come.
I don't know what I listened to, except it took forever and I'm not a fan.
Marvelous spinoff of the ‘Prince of the Otherworlds’ series. There are so many surprises in this book that keep you turning the pages to find out what will happen next. Here we have the story of Samantha (Sammy), Andi’s roommate and best friend from the previous series. We have met Rax previously as well. The dialogue between Sammy and Rax is sometimes serious, sometime humorous, but always well-written and at times I had tears in my eyes whilst reading. The chemistry between the two characters is strong, but their secrets make them both hesitate to act on their feelings. I loved the underwater battle. This is a great book and looks to be a great new series I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
5 well deserved stars for this great story full of emotion!
Dragon’s captive is set in the same world as “Prince of the Otherworlds”. You could even consider it a next book in the series, but this time with two of its side characters as main characters: Sammy, Andi’s best friend, and Rax who we’ve met as the owner of the casino from the first series. It can be read as a standalone, but it’s more fun when you have read the “Prince of the Otherworlds” series first.
This is a book that focuses more on the development of the characters, their history, their emotions and less on action. That doesn’t mean that nothing happens, the story is good, the action is just a bit slower at some points. But this didn’t bother me at all. In fact, I loved it and could not put the book down! The story really grabs you and makes you feel with/for the main characters.
There should be more to come in this series. I’m really curious to see what other characters will get their own story and where that will lead us.
This is my honest review of a copy given to me by the author.
An excellent supernatural romance. The fiery nature of Sammy mixed with the stoic and brooding Rax makes them a perfect match and a very entertaining couple. Sammy's obsession with crime investigations and serial killers made their interactions hilarious. The characters are well-developed, and the author's attention to detail perfected the plot.
I noticed that there was a prequel to this book, but I didn't feel like I was missing out much. However, I will surely be checking out the rest of the series.
This book is perfect for any supernatural fan; however, due to the mature scenes and profanity used in the book, it is not suitable for younger audiences or sensitive readers.
This was weirdly dark and super Stockholm syndrome-y. The whole thing was interesting enough, but having the mmc demanding obedience and blind respect out of the fmc who he's abducted and to whom he's refusing to give any answers was a tad too much assholery for me.
I really liked the ending, though. This book has the kind of ending I always crave in books: a slow come-down and a fade into normalcy.
I enjoyed reviewing the Prince of the Other Worlds series, so when the authors offered me this one for review, I was happy to accept!
Admittedly, "female protagonist falling in love with their kidnapper" isn't a trope I'm thrilled about, but Sammy actually acted like a true crime junkie that had been kidnapped. She was panicking and leaving clues, making plots, and it all lasted a lot longer than it usually does in this kind of book. Rax was definitely still the domineering type (admittedly not my favorite) but Sammy never felt truly dominated in the greater sense. The trope as a whole is still not my usual cup of tea and I probably would only read it from authors I know and like, but this is a good showing for anyone that is a fan of it.
This book is also a nice standalone. While the original series had plenty of cliffhangers to keep you reading, it was nice to have a complete story in one book. It also helps that you don't have to have read Andi and Damian's story to get the full picture (although if you want to read all of the books, I would suggest starting with them).
As a foster parent, I take a very critical eye to any character with a foster background. Thankfully, this book didn't have any of the tired, incorrect stereotypes. She was old enough when she entered the system that adoption wouldn't be a given, as most kids' chances of permanency drop severely at the age of 8 (heartbreaking, I know). The reasons she had to leave various foster homes were realistic and understandable (surprise pregnancy, severe illness, etc.) And the effect it had on her psyche was also realistic. I get that this isn't something most people looking for a dragon shifter romance would have a critical eye about, but I appreciated it.
The steamy scenes were, of course, properly steamy. They were plentiful enough to make it a proper erotica, but not so much that it felt like it was the point of the story. A nice blend of the two, I would say.
In general, if you liked the Prince of the Other Worlds series, you'll like this one. And if you like this one, you should definitely check the other out as well.
We are met with familiar characters and introduced with new members of the series. I would give this a full 4 stars or more but dang this felt st uper dragged out. I love slow burn stories, but it didn't build up steam until almost 5 ot 6 chapters toward the end. I cracked up with the antics and banter of Smokes and Hachiro. Sammy O'Conneor is the best friend of Andi Ngo. We met Andi who was the main heroine in the first 4 books. Anyways, now we see the sassiness of Sammy in the book. Anyways, Andi is planning her wedding to Damian, so she is wrapped up in her own concerns. Sammy doesn't want to pull her away from her fun to bring Andi into her worries. In their old apartment, something was delivered without a name or who it was shipped from. Sammy thinking it's for Andi from Damian or a wedding gift. She is curious and opens it and sees a beautiful jewelry. Since Andi is away on a secret rendezvous location to help with her planning. Sammy doesn't think Andi would mind her wearing it, so she does not thinking of it. Da da duh!!! Nay nay dear reader, Rax Janiver spots Sammy and at first is interested in her but spots the jewelry. Which belongs to him. But he thought it was buried. Rax needs to know how Sammy got it. In lays the deliemma what is he suppose to do. Capture her? Nah...he rescues her / kidnaps her. Nefarious beings are out to get Sammy. So, to keep her safe he is hiding her at his place but not telling Sammy anything. But, communication changes between them. At first Rax is cold and afloof. But slowly with the help of his friends and side kicks they help him understand Sammy is scared and he needs to communicate why she is here. Give her enough information but just the bare minimum. But, Sammy finds out more about her past that might jeopardize what Rax and Sammy built so far. Will whatever information she finds out ruin everything. Who sent the jewelry to Andi? Who is after Sammy and why does Rax care? Gotta read the book to find out. Keep in mind it's a sloowww burn.
I got this as a free audiobook during Stuff earbuds.
Needless to say oh my god. This book didn’t disappoint in any sense of the word.
This series is a spin off series.
But Rex is a freaken Alpha hole. Oh my god but it was out of a semi good place in his heart.
Rex an Sammie are so prefect. They both have hard past that they try an hide. As part of the past they learn to learn each other. Even though Rex keeps her trapped. It’s kinda broader like Stockholm syndrome on Sammies part. Buuuttt hey… I have read worse 😉
Rex is kinda like a water dragon. That’s what I am calling him. He’s a water dragon. He is a dragon shifter but um his dragon shifter is in the water an even in human form he can like be underwater forever.
I really love how much smoke just want to bite her.
The spice is 👌👌👌😻😻😻 the sparks that you can feel from both of them. Ugh made me so sexually frustrated for them 😅😅😂😂
The last two hours of the book. I don’t think I have got so mad at them until then.
But this goes to show that love can conquer all.
I really wish there was more Rex and Sammie Story. I really need to know what happens with Rex brother. Does he find his love?! If there another fight? Does the gate stay closed?! Do the sirens come back?! I have so many an I mean so many questions about the end of this book. Like uuuggghhhhh I need more. I seriously need answers!!!
This is a great dragon shifter romance book. Not to much spice and just enough plot to keep you going for both. I think this is a great book for anyone that loves a quick spicy shifter romance.

Rax Janvier is a dragon shifter from another realm. He was falsely imprisoned, then freed. When the Key to the Gate Below was fractured his dragon was stripped from him to guard the Gate Below. He has spent centuries trying to restore the key so he could be rejoined with his dragon but his time is running out.
Sammy O'Connor's best friend is about to marry a dragon, so when a strange package arrives, she assumes it's for her friend. Despite being an avid fan of murder mysteries, she does the classic 'Too Stupid to Live' action and decides to open it and wear the necklace found within. These actions make her a beacon for nasties she wants no part of and the singular focus of a dragon.
When Rax realizes Sammy is wearing part of the missing key he tries to seduce her but the necklace she wears cannot be removed. He abducts her for her safety as well as to give him time to find a way to remove the necklace. Sammy wakes up imprisoned in his home with strange creatures. She doesn't believe anything Rax tells her, she only knows she's been kidnapped and will do anything and everything to try and escape.
These two both have tragic pasts and once they stop fighting things get steamy but if they can't restore the key, tragedy is in their future.
Samantha O’Connor had a rough childhood - after her parents were killed by a monster, she was raised in the foster system - and no one believed her, they said the murderer was a serial killer. When Sammy puts on a necklace delivered to her apartment, she doesn’t realize it belongs to a dragon, and then it won’t come off. Rax Janvier never thought he’d see part of the key he needs to secure an all important gate being worn by a human and will do anything to get it back before his time runs out. If he can’t get the key back, he may be doomed for all eternity. After Sammy is threatened by underwater creatures, he determines the only way to protect her is to kidnap her, which doesn’t exactly turn out how he thought it would. Sammy is very resourceful, and gives him plenty of trouble, but a dragon has quite the advantage over a mere human, even if she is working her way into his heart. With her friend Andi and her dragon mate Damian on a trip to Italy, there is no one looking out for Sammy, so she’s on her own. I loved the eventual appearance of Andi, Damian and friends, and Sammy’s last ditch solution to the seemingly inevitable doom of the dragon she won’t give up. I look forward to more books in this series, and hope to see Andi and Sammy make appearances as well. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It was bittersweet when Andi and Damian's story ended because I loved the world the authors had created.
I was floored to hear they were working on a new story AND we get to return to the same world. I was sold! Please note that this story can be read as a stand alone. Just even better when already knowing Andi and Damian's story.
This story revolves around Sammy - Andi's former roommate and Rax - who we also saw in the 1st series. I'll be honest, I didn't realize who Rax was from first series until about halfway through the story when Damian shows up.
If you loved Dragon Called, you will love going back. If you love stories about mates, magic, dragons, and relationships that do not come easy this is your story.
I will say that this one is darker than Dragon Called. We get to see the relationship from both Sammy and Rax's perspective, so it didn't bother me. Rax is doing the best he can with the crappy situation he is in. He doesn't always make the best choices, but hey - no one is perfect. He is trying to do what will keep Sammy safe.
Wonderful happy ending that left me giddy and joyful at the ending they finally found.
Cannot wait for more!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I couldn't put this book down!!! It picked up at the end of the Prince of the Other Worlds series, but was an amazing book by itself. We got to see Sammy and wow! It was a different side of Sammy than what we saw in the original series. I felt like I got to really see her and where she came from. While there were still appearances from Andi, Damian and the crew - this story was about Sammy and Rax.
Trust, friendship and love doesn't come easy. The author did a great job describing the inner struggle and turmoil that both Sammy and Rax were going through. Samy had been through a lot in the original books, but now, I saw her in a different light. My heart broke for her with what she went through. But I also admired her and house she persevered to become the woman that she is now. She kept fighting back. Rax... where do I begin. He also overcame a lot to get where he was today, but he was still holding back so much. They both had a lot more to over come and fight for.
There was a lot of action and adventure throughout the book. And a lot of determination! Smoke was a riot and I loved Comet! I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Four and a half stars - This new series begins with the characters from the book "Dragon Called". Sammy is missing the closeness to her friend and roommate, Andi who is living with Damian Blackwood. On her way to work to Belissima's, a package arrived and Sammy opens it and inside it contained a box which held a necklace with a red jewel. Calling her friend Andi, she shows her the necklace trying to figure out who sent it. After the call, Sammy decides to put it on as she goes to work. Meanwhile Rax Janvier has a reservation at Belissima's and notices the receptionist is displaying magic and sees her wearing a missing part of the key that he's been looking for. Rax hooks up with Sammy to steal the necklace, but Sammy flees before he can grab it. Weeks later when Sammy is trying to get a job in his casino and gets hired, this leads to Rax kidnapping Sammy which leads to distrust and Sammy discovering what she is. Can Sammy forgive Rax? What occurs between the two in this twist and turns romantic story was a enjoyable read. I liked the introduction of Smoke, Comet and Hachiro into this story for their interactions were cute. This story does have some open questions that might be explored in the future books in this series.
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Dragon's Captive by Cassie Lockharte is a first in series for the Wardens of the Otherworlds, a spinoff of the Princes of the Otherworld series. (Cassie Lockharte is the Pen Name for the Kara Lockharte and Cassie Alexander writing team.) This opener gives us Samantha and Rax's story. We met Samantha in Princes of the Otherworld as a strong secondary character - Andi's roommate. I love that we continue to get some of Andi and Damian's (as well as the Team's) ongoing story in the background of this tale. When Samantha intercepts a gift she thinks is meant for Andi, the chaos begins. I found myself pulled into the story and running the movie in my head. We finally get Samantha's backstory and it has a strong link to Rax's dilemma. Rax is a sexy dragon shifter that has been put through the wringer and when he meets Samantha, his life takes yet another left turn. This Mature Readers Only read is highly addictive, prepare to seclude yourself until you finish reading this book!

If you enjoy paranormal reads and have never read these two authors, you are missing some amazing stories. Their imaginations are totally unbelievable and I am in absolute awe. Sammy had an extremely difficult childhood. Her parents were killed when they were all at the beach by the Sandcastle Killer. No one believed her story and she certainly didn’t think she would ever get answers. Rax, a centuries old heart broken dragon, kidnaps her when he discovers she has something he has been searching for a very long time. Characters that you don’t want to miss are Smoke, an Article fox and “Comet”, an octopus. Will Smoke ever get his bite? If you read their previous series, Andi, Damien, and my favorite Grim, are also in this one too on a smaller scale. This is book one of the Wardens of the Otherworld Series. I cannot wait for book two. Totally an amazing read!

Intensity to the nith degree. Specular character and a storyline that grabs hold and takes you on a whirlwind ride. The story features Sammy, who is the best friend of Andi and ex girlfriend to Andis brother who was a dragon in the last book. This time around Sammy is the one who finds the magical side of life a bit disturbing especially when she is locked up and a dragon is trying to get a necklace off her any way he can. I loved that the story was in one book, it killed me waiting for each installment before, and Sammy so makes the story with her sarcastic attitude and unique way of imprinting her presence in Raxs home. A eager fox 2ho wants to take a nip and an octopus who finds the girl intriguing this is a story I'm so happy I didn't miss. Adventure, stinky exploding drowned people and a underwater fight makes the HEA that much sweeter.

The author did a good job with the world building which always makes it easier for the reader to be there in the story and experience things firsthand. The characters were also done well, where the reader could see the attraction developing between them.
Sammy O'Connor stole a dragon's necklace which started her troubles, or maybe just continued them, because now Rax Janvier would be coming to retrieve it, along with laying claim to her. The necklace is a fragment of a key that opens up a lock to his past and hers. Is she ready to deal with a sea dragon who will never let her go? Or is she beginning to feel that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to stay with him?
The story line was strong and well-paced, despite some slow spots, with tension and suspense where needed to keep the reader focused on the action. The interaction between the characters helps to bring the story to life and keeps the reader intrigued. And dragon’s just make any story perfect!
You need to read "Dragon Called" first (a different series). I wish I had so that references would have made more sense. You can still read this as a standalone though. I have to say this started out very different than your usual romance. Rax was very cold and unfeeling to Sammy through the whole first half of this book and Sammy was extremely leery of him because of her terrible past. It didn't help that he had basically kidnapped her "for her own safety"- right. You need to keep reading because the emotions and actions explode by the end. I did have to keep stopping to look up some words- both foriegn and domestic but that was more my curiosity. Sammy was a strong woman and handled her situation better than I would've. She had a sharp wit and a quick mind. There are some LOL comments. I will keep reading this series AFTER I read Andi and Damian's book- Dragon Called.
It was a bit of a rollercoaster. At times I disliked her (sometimes I wanted to slap this woman on the head), then I disliked him, then her again, then I just hated everyone else… It was OK, but I have to say that much of the enjoyment came from the male narrator’s voice. The man knows how to do his job. The female narrator was Ok, not bad or anything, just not as good as her male counterpart. Another thing is that this is related to another series from the author, and in the last third a lot of people from that other series make an appearance, and it was difficult to keep up with all the characters that are never described because you’re supposed to know them already. And there were a lot of them. I only read the first book of that series and it was a 2 stars for me, so I didn’t continue. The ending was good. However, the whole thing with the brother orchestrating everything is preposterous, so I choose to think the guy is crazy and delusional. I won’t continue the series anyway.
I have mixed feelings on this book - settled on 3 1/2 stars. The author’s writing captured my imagination with her characters and her world building. This was my first book by this author and I was really intrigued with the descriptions of the various paranormal creatures, realms and storyline. The two main characters, Rax and Sammy, both have suffered immense emotional pain in their lifetimes and were determined to keep what they knew secret. Sammy’s past plus the circumstances she found herself in plunged her into a state where she thought her life was at risk while in Rax’s home. Rax didn’t share anything with Sammy and his lack of explanation or transparency caused the two of them to battle for almost 80% of the book. This frustrated me immensely because they both had an attraction to the other, but they literally caused each other physical and emotional pain during their weeks long mental battle.
Despite my frustration with the storyline, I felt compelled to keep reading because I wanted to know what happened and how the author would bring these two together romantically. The author’s strength as a storyteller kept me going and the ending was worth it.
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
A spin-off, but an independent new series, where it is not necessary to have read "Dragon Called" first The main characters are Sammy and Rax. Sammy, youi may already know her as Andi's former room mate, receivves a necklace she believes is probably for Andi but c annot resist to try it on. Once put on, it cannot be removed, which is a problem, when Rax, a dragon shifter arrives to collect the necklace. AS she is attached, he simply takes her along. Thus start their adventures, which are quite a few. The book was entertaining and well-written, engaging the reader almost from the beginning (Maybe more so, if you read Dragon Called first). A good start into a new series. I am looking forward to the second book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
There are some awkwardly worded sentences that made me pause and some incorrectly placed commas that create clumsy breaks.
Grammatical flubs aside, this was really good. A solid 4.5 stars. Get your tissues ready for the emotional ride at the end. The plot is creative. The characters are interesting. The heroine isn't annoying - not whiney or bitchy or too stupid to live or uber feminist pushing a social agenda. She possesses an inner strength that comes from surviving emotional trauma. The hero is broken... strong but distant; compassionate & protective towards the heroine even though she neither recognizes nor appreciates it at the time. It would have been nice to have more of his back story but I can envision it coming as part of his brother's story if the author chooses to expand the series in that direction.
Rax and Sammy are both in big trouble: in-danger-of-dying trouble. Rax is a dragon from another Realm with his time running out. Sammy is in possession of something that creepy “things” from another Realm would kill her to acquire. This story is a roller coaster for the emotions: up, down, twirling all around, and repeat….. And there is a complicated romance in there, too.
The story is addictive! I had to know what would happen next. So hang in there. There IS a HEA coming even though I could NEVER have forseen how it would happen! Kudos to the new writing partnership of Cassie Lockharte for a compelling and exciting story. Five stars!

Very enjoyable and entertaining read. I had so many emotions while reading this. Rax and Sammy, both have suffered immense emotional pain in their lifetime and were determined to keep what they knew secret which was very frustrating. I felt maybe if they would have communicated better It would have prevented them not to battle almost 80% of the book I'm just saying. Especially with them having feelings for one another they literally cause emotional and physical for no reason. I'm just glad they got it together in the end. Overall a good read. I received a free copy via Booksprout and as always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
An awesome Sea Dragon to capture your heart Another winner, I loved the octopus. There are so many great characters and personalities that make this book come alive. Rax and Sammy have plenty of baggage to sort through and have great chemistry together. Sammy is one of those very independent types and sometimes she has a little too much pride, one minute I want to slap her the next I am thinking that is exactly what would probably go through one’s mind. So then I want to applaud her. You will see appearances from characters from past books, that is a great plus too. A captivating, stand alone read with some heat and a great plot. It is sure to put a smile on your face. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.
