Significance
Maggie is a seventeen year old girl who's had a bad year. She was smart and on track, but her mom left, her dad is depressed, she's graduating, barely, and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football scholarship. June 29, 2017Collide will always be awesome to me because it was the very first book, but Caleb and Maggie were definitely the most fun to write. If I could have jumped in the book and married Caleb right then, I would have :) I love characters with morals and real feelings, characters that have redeeming qualities.
If I can have some paranormal stuff going on with some real love and romance thrown into the mix with an original storyline, I'm hooked. Line and sinker.
So....though this may not be everyone's cup-o-tea, I love a good story that is about TRUE LOVE under any circumstance and if that's your bag then I'd suggest this to you.

This was a good read in a very shrugworthy kind of way. It was cute and sweetly romantic. But it just didn’t have the umph I was looking for!
WHAT I LOVED:
♥ Caleb. He was adorable and loyal and had cute shaggy light brown hair and I hope to someday have a German Shepherd just like him.
♥ Caleb’s family. They’re kind of a huge group of sweet and funny misfits! And the grandmother was hysterical. I loved ‘em!
♥ The first kissing scene. Because, well. When am I *not* a fan of the first kissing scene? ;)
♥ The ending. It was actually a very well-written ending, especially for a first book in a series! It just wasn’t enough to make me buy the second book.
WHAT I HATED:
-- "Imprinting"
And if you don’t know what imprinting is, fear not: it explains it to you during all of the first 387 pages. OR you can just take my word for it when I say that imprinting’s basically Stockholm Syndrome… only you get to date your captor. And I get that it was always supposed to be a key factor in this series. I mean, it’s in the damn blurb, right? I just didn’t realize that it was going to completely take the driver’s seat. Unfortunately… it does.
-- No angst. Zero. None. Zilch. Nil. And I’m goin’ to let you in on a little secret: I’m a HUGE angst fanatic. A like sexual tension that makes me grip my Kindle a little bit harder and a heroine who doesn’t know whether she wants to toss a fist at the guy’s face or to have him fist her hair. And this book doesn’t have anything even remotely close to that. However, there are about forty-two scenes where they put their foreheads together.
Riveting.
-- Maggie. Umm… I mean, what’s with her starting out as a borderline emo girl who is absolutely unready for anything and then two pages later… she’s this omniscient badass who’s ready for everything?
All in all, I guess it’s safe to say that I don’t really understand all the hype over this book! And I definitely don’t recommend it. Unless you’re reaaaally bored and slightly blind and wholly illiterate.
Then I’d say throw it in the ‘maybe’ pile. :)

IF YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW INSTA-LOVE...
You didn't. Not until you've read SIGNIFICANCE. This book is a perfect explanation to why I despise books on 'soulmates'. To me, you should not fall in true love within 48 hours. I don't care if you're 17 or 50, soulmate or not.

8/13 - Just found out that Significance is in pre-production to become a movie. With all of the amazing books out there featuring unique and intricate stories, I'm a little confused about why this story was picked to be brought to the big screen. There isn't much to the plot of the first book, since the world details aren't as fleshed out in book 1. How can you base an entire movie around two people who can't bear to be apart and have to be touching constantly? Am I the only one who is thinking this?
2/12 (original review) - I have nothing personal against Significance. In this case, it's more about the right book at the wrong time (in my life). When I was younger and still learning about love, I know I would have enjoyed Significance. Back before I realized that love means having equal but separate identities, I might have swooned a bit over a story in which a young man and woman find each other and can't stand to be apart. At the age I'm at now, I know that even in the best of relationships, there are times when youwant need your space. It would drive me crazy to have to constantly touch someone, or else feel pain. Even when I was in the stages of a relationship where I couldn't get enough of a person, I wouldn't have been happy with having my choice of whether or not to spend time with someone taken away from me.
This book just wasn't my thing. Love is great, but this felt more like suffocation. So much of the book revolved around the connection between Caleb and Maggie, to the point where it got repetitive with some of the scenes. Maybe if the background plot had been pushed a bit more to the forefront, I wouldn't have been quite as antsy about how much these two kids were obsessed with each other.
If you like books with extremely intense romances, you'll probably adore Significance. Many people have given this one a high rating, so I'm guessing that I will continue to be in the minority here. All-consuming love has a huge draw for many people and I understand why. It's a fun fantasy. If you like to get caught up in that fantasy, then this story might be a great fit for you. If you honestly like romances where people can't get enough of each other, or if you get pissed off at books when it takes an entire story for a couple to acknowledge their feelings, then I'd say to check this out. It's probably going to be right up your alley.
As for the soulmates concept - I honestly don't mind books like these, as long as there is more to the couple than just what they are together. I do think it's possible to have a charming story in which two people are meant for each other and love to be there for one another, but still acknowledge that there is more to their life than just what's in their little bubble.
My favorite example of soulmates fiction done right would be the Tairen Soul series, starting with Lord of the Fading Lands because the epic story and world is just as engaging as the beautiful romance.
As for book two in the Signficance series, surprisingly enough, I will probably end up reading it anyway. I found myself connecting to Bish and Jen, and am wanting to see how things turn out for them. Maybe I'll have better luck rating and reviewing the second book, knowing what to expect.

A romance-heavy story that is very sketchy on what's actually going on with the paranormal stuff--and unfortunately, the romance just didn't work for me. How is it that all the guys think this girl is hot and would die to be with her? The book has the usual self-published issues with typos, clumsy dialogue, the need for a good editor, and the fleshing out of plot and character development.
Fundamentally, it also makes me seriously uneasy to have a story line in which teenagers are so strongly "imprinted" on each other. The fact that it's physically painful to be separated or be with anyone else, etc, etc., is pretty disturbing, and not the healthiest message to send. This type of thing might work if it were balanced out by other elements, but since the romance is the primary subject here, I found it difficult to overlook. It's also hard to relate to or have any sympathy for a character whose entire life revolves around her love interests. That's not interesting in a real human being, and it's not interesting in a fictional character.

Two stars for this freebie TwiLite clone. This is about as close to Twilight as you can get without actually having anyone's blood get sucked out of their neck (except that it has far worse grammar and punctuation problems). I think it's time for a GoodReads Game®: how many parallels can we find between Significance and Twilight? (Mildly spoilerish so read at your own risk.)
1. Main character is a high school girl living with her divorced dad.
2. Insta-love, on steroids.
3. Oh no, her love interest is not quite human!
4. And he is compelled by his immense love for her to be a stalker and extremely possessive!
5. But it's okay, because she loves him too.
6. Especially when he creepilywatches her sleep every night has to sleep chastely touching her all night long.
7. Aww! His family is so sweet, and even though they have superpowers they love human girl.
8. Cool! If she hangs out with him long enough she will be changed and get to have superpowers too!
9. Even cooler! The change process instantly makes her (more) beautiful!

So... I blame it on the fact that I had a fever last three days. I felt like I was in the deepest pit of hell, I was cranky, it felt as if my lungs were on fire and I had a killer headache. So... as one of my girlfriends said, I needed something sappy.
Where to start? What I like or what I don't like? How I'm afraid of feminist wrath? Or how I'm torn between giving support to inde authors and wanting to strangle them for publishing their books in hurry without checking it out for, if necessary, millionth time and, for God's sake, good editor?
Let's begin with the most improtant irrelevant thing - cover. For indie novels, Shelly Crane has some pretty amazing covers. I had to say this because some publishers should learn from this woman - I know it's shallow, but cover is very important.
The story. Hmm... Interesting concept, it could be great book, but... You read book description on the beginning of this post, right? Well, that's it. The whole plot. On 330 pages. (I seemed much longer to me.) Lots of repetition, certain parts of plot are left hanging loose and others are overdone. The biggest "no" for me was ending - I don't want to spoil it for those who didn't read it, so I'll just put it like this: it should've finished after 26th chapter. That's actually common problem for self published authors - they don't know when to end or how to divide the manuscript. Next time, ask for help! Don't rush - it won't get you anywhere. Make second edition - upgraded!
The characters. Caleb and Maggie are sweet, but looking in general, character development is lacking. The whole story is just about their interaction - it would be more believable (and less repetitive) if author gave more atention to other aspects of their lives and to the other people in their lives. Because of whole imprinting thing, it would be better it Maggie and Caleb are, at least, twenty years old. We have Twilight-cliché - big, happy, supportive, rich family. And I'm annoyed with it.
Speaking of Twilight-clichés, Signifiance, obviously, goes in category of books written by obsessive Twilight fan. Enough said! If this book was reviewed by my friend Zemira, she'd put it on this shelves: could-have-been-better, ahhh-my-eyes, get-to-the-point-already, hmmm, i-blame-twilight, mixed-feelings, why-the-hype and youve-got-to-be-kidding-me. And there are others reviews with lots of squealing, gushing, ahhs and ohhs, OMGs and WOWs and swooning... Where does it leaves me? Wel, somewhere in the middle.
I believe this could be book worth reading but it needs lots of hard work and author's willingness to accept constructive criticism. I don't like to write negative reviews, but sometimes it's just the right thing that authors need to hear.

The receiving of that paper scroll.
The flashes of cameras, the smiles of proud parents, the cheering of friends.

6 Finding True Love Stars
I read this book a few years ago and I never got around to writing a review. I thought the audio version would be a perfect re-read.
As a romance reader, I am a SUCKER for the Can-not-live-with-out-each-other story line. You know, the one where it makes you ache, heart swoon and head sigh. Shelly Crane delivered on this one. It’s a TRUE Romance.
Maggie is your typical ordinary teenager. Her boyfriend breaks up with her, her mom leaves her and her dad ignores her. Her life isn’t perfect. One day she meets Caleb. Well, she saves him from getting run over by a car. It’s a super meet-cute. When Caleb and Maggie meet, sparks fly and it’s like BAM insta-connection.
Maggie is Caleb’s Significance.
What does it all mean? It means, Maggie isn’t so ordinary anymore.
I consider Significance a YA paranormal book and I love it. It reads super sweet and super innocent. The story is about two people learning about each other and forming an intense relationship.
Caleb is different. His family eventually gets paired up with their significant. It’s not easy finding a significant, it hasn’t been happening lately and Caleb is the first to be paired up in a long time. Once two people are paired, eventually they will obtain powers. There’s a lot more that goes on, but that’s the shorten version.
Another family, not part of Caleb’s is jealous of the new pairing and so there’s retaliation and beautiful drama. Maggie becomes thrown in the middle and Caleb is so sexy because he goes all protective-cave-man on her.
I love reading Maggie’s thoughts. I loved going through what she went through. Everything is a big mystery and there’s so much to learn. I was just sucked into Caleb’s world and all the special things that went with it.
I loved the rival clans and all the drama.
Let’s just say, everything is intense!
The one thing that I enjoyed most about this read is the love Caleb and Maggie have for each other. It’s so intense because of the pairing. I like that they are only meant for each other. I also like that they were almost strangers and within a few minutes they become paired. It was just like I said crazy intense.

Who was your favorite character and why?
The Heroine and Hero made the story. I love that this is a true romance love story. It’s a very sweet read about two young lovers getting to know each other. There was so much that went on and I gobbled it up.
Have you listened to any of Cris Dukehart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first Cris narration. I loved her voice. I found it very sweet, young and it matched the Heroine perfectly. I loved listening to her inner struggles. I felt her confusion, pain and love for the Hero. I found the transition to Caleb’s not my preference. I usually prefer the narrator to do a deeper voice, but Cris made it more younger, which I understood because Caleb is suppose to be young too, but it just didn’t really match up to what I was thinking in my head.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

5 stars! Yay! I really enjoyed this one! Loved Maggie and Caleb!
Maggie’s high school graduation is where we begin. Maggie has had a really rough year. Her whole world has been turned upside down. At the beginning of her senior year, her mom left her and her dad, which caused Maggie to have to get a job and take car of her dad who had been out of it ever since. Her boyfriend Chad broke up with her around the same time. Its been a bad year. Durning graduation, her friend Kyle asked her out again and this time she said yes, why not. That evening, she is walking around town getting ready to cross the street and sees a guy she's never seen before. He almost gets hit by a truck and Maggie saves his life. They have an instant attraction, but soon finds out he is Kyle’s cousin. She gets to Kyle’s house, and while saying bye to Caleb, they touch. Sparks fly- literally. They imprint each other, she can feel his heart beat and see’s flashes of their life together. They are soul-mates. Kyle is less than thrilled with this. Of course as soon as she starts dating Caleb, her dad becomes more present in her life, as well as her best friend Becks. Plus, they have Kyle to deal with, Maggies ex boyfriend Chad, and a rival clan out to get them. All these problems are intensified and it makes things even more difficult that they physically can’t be apart from each other with out it being painful.
I love a good ya book/pnr! This was great. Caleb was so adorable and I loved Maggie. Caleb’s family was wonderful, especially his dad and gran. Maggies dad really grew on me also. I’m excited to read the next one :D

My rating obviously shows that I didn't like this book. Instead of using Goodreads as a site to vent my literary frustrations (which I know I've done before), I'm going to go over what I think could make this book better. I can't promise though that I won't get off track; books are always pretty personal to me.
As many, MANY people have already said, the editing is in need of some serious work. Incorrect verb tenses, subject changes when the subject hasn't changed, and sentences that simply don't make sense littered the book. For example, "He can name any capitol of any city in the world."

Yes, that sentence is implying that cities have capitols. Also, by saying "any" it's implying that there are several capitols each city could have. Ms. Crane, while I respect that you've managed to capture thousands of love-crazed hearts, these mistakes take away the credibility and integrity of your work! I'm assuming the sentence SHOULD read "He can name THE capitol of any COUNTRY in the world.". Enough said.
My other major complaint was the unnatural perfection of the characters. Caleb: math genius, sports star, sexy beast, protective good guy with a motorcycle. Maggie: smart student, sweet and innocent girl with a sad past that she suffered through and came out strong. Oh yeah, and she's drop dead gorgeous. And she's got three extremely hot guys in love with her. I can not find the mention of ONE SINGLE FLAW in either of these two characters in the whole book. There were a few instances where I personally thought that Maggie was dumb or insecure, but I stood alone in my opinions. Besides the creepily perfect protagonists, the villains were just as purely evil. There was a weak explanation given to the rivalry of good and evil, but it was shallow and unfulfilling.
I can understand where some people (women) would enjoy reading about a stereotypically perfect, and all encompassing love, but this book fell flat and left me frustrated. It had potential, but I'm 99 percent positive that I won't be reading the sequel.

I decided to give it a shot, intrigued by the promise of a soulmate-themed. Unfortunately, what I found within the pages was a non-vampiric Twilight fanfiction work that I absolutely didn't ask for. The romance, supposedly the core of the story, felt forced, and I did not like how the dialogue was written. There were instances of awkward phrasing and repetitive descriptions that detracted from the overall reading experience.

I read this back in 2015. I was 14 I think and this series was my life😂.I mean, it’s so cheesy and corny but I loved it. Well, love it. Present tense. Because i just reread it and somehow liked it even better the second time around.
This book gave me so many unrealistic expectations when I was younger. I know, I know, it’s supernatural, how could I possibly think any of this could happen in real life? Yet I did. Because the main character, Caleb, is so perfect it hurts. Sometimes I want to punch him for it. Other times I wanna marry him. You get what I mean?
Maggie, on the other hand, is not perfect, which is a good thing. She’s a cool chick, just a little clingy. Ok very clingy, but it’s part of the plot so I can’t really complain. She’s not whiny or annoying so that’s a huge plus.
The plot in general is interesting (to me, at least). And it gets better with every book.
Anyways, I’m really torn between recommending this or not. Because even though I loved it, it’s just too damn much. It’s too sweet, it’s too perfect. I don’t know. If you’re craving something sweet to eat, just read this book and I’ll promise it’ll go away. It’s like candy for the soul 😂🍭

This was a really good paranormal romance, and I really enjoyed it!
I really loved Maggie and Caleb, they were both just so darn cute! And man, did they have chemistry! This pair only had to look at each other and the windows started getting steamed up!
The storyline in this was really good. I was a bit put off by the slow pace, and this book felt twice as long as it was, but because I was enjoying the story it didn’t bother me too much. I did feel like the imprinting and soul-mates thing has been done before, it was all a bit twilight really, but the romance made up for that.
I really loved the romance in this book, the way it was written was just really nice, and even though this pair did nothing more than kiss, there was so much emotion, and love, and yeah, a bit of lust, that this just felt so much sexier than it should have!
The ending to this was pretty good, and even though this was pretty slow, I really want to read the sequel and find out what happens next! Love this pair!

3.5 Stars...
This was a fun and interesting read. Maggie and Caleb are soul mates struggling with, but enamored by their newfound connection. At first, I was worried that their intensity would get suffocating. The fact that they were so in tune with each other was sweet, but their desperate need to be together or face agonizing circumstances was initially overwhelming. However, as the book progressed, I really became caught up in their sweet story and found myself rooting for them to overcome their hardships.
Caleb is perfection. He's kind, patient, and thoughtful. He doesn't truly possess any 'alpha' qualities but he's adorably sexy and intensely protective over Maggie. I enjoyed the connection between the secondary characters, as well as the addition of the 'evil', opposing ones.
Maggie has been hurt by the thoughtless abandonment of her mother, but remains a strong, level-headed character whom I admired. Her connection with her father kicks off with a shaky start and I enjoyed seeing their relationship blossom.
Overall, an enjoyable start to a unique series. The ending leaves the story open, but doesn't leave you hanging...which is a nice change. I look forward to the next installments of this journey!

Significance blew me away! I am a huge fan of Maggie and Caleb. They now, are one of my most favorite couples. There was such a beautiful connection between them, I didn't want their story to end. I actually tried to savor the last 100 pages and not devour them. This book is easily one that you can read really fast because it's that good.
Maggie Masters spent the the last year raising herself. Her mom took off and left Maggie and her father alone. Her father became catatonic. He was there, but wasn't there. I immediately could picture and feel her sadness and her feelings of loneliness. My heart sank deep just imagining what she went through. Maggie just wanted to get through her senior year. After her graduation her friend Kyle Jacobson asked her to go for something to do. See, Kyle has had a crush on Maggie for like, forever. Little does he know, Maggie doesn't feel the same way. She needed to get out and get fresh air so she goes for a walk and this is when her life changes forever.
Do you believe in fate? Perhaps that's exactly what it was when Maggie saved Caleb's life after pulling him back off the road and nearly missed being hit by a truck, turns out, he's Kyles cousin. I don't mind instant chemistry as long as it isn't over the top. This one, was well played out and had me curling my toes up with giddiness. Caleb instantly won me over.

Do you believe in soul mate's? The moment Maggie and Caleb shook hands, their fate was sealed. Flashes of happy times with him came rushing into her mind, she could feel his heart beating, his happiness. “Because you are my significant, my soul mate, and I'm yours we imprinted with each other” --Swoon-- “It usually doesn't happen when we're this young. And it hasn't been happening at all with the families.” The Jacobson's are special, they are Virtuoso, or Charmed. They call themselves Aces. They have abilities once they reach a certain age after they imprint. I seriously LOVED Caleb, he's such a Romeo. Talk about a character that just makes you melt!
Maggie and Caleb form an instant connection once they imprint on one another. It was fascinating to see their new relationship develop so quickly. It was written so it didn't feel rushed really though. It was perfect. There was a sense of protection and a need to make her happy that made Caleb's character more appealing. Imprinting hasn't been happening for a while now and the clan's have been concerned about it, so when Caleb and Maggie imprinted, not only was it exciting, but it is very rare to imprint with a human.
Once other clan's found out about it, (one clan specifically) Maggie and Caleb became a target. They don't want them to Ascend. Which is when they grow and gain their full ability. The events that took place once the bad clan (that's just what I call them) come into the picture were suspenseful and contained enough action that I really didn't want to put the book down. I HAD to keep reading and find out what happened next to Maggie and Caleb. There were some pretty amazing things that happen throughout this story that you really should just experience this for yourself.
“He had just imprinted with the girl he wanted more than any other, the girl who had saved his life, the girl he thought he'd never have. She was his.”
I loved the characters, good and bad. Sure, I wanted to smack the smirk off Marcus's face, and punch his uncle in the kahuna's for being such an evil ass, but what it boils down to is that they were all fantastic and were played so well. I just adored little Maria, Caleb's niece. She was so cute and who couldn't relate to an open-mouth honesty a little child provides LOL. And, I cannot forget Caleb's parents. I thought they were magnificent and so cute together.
It's so easy to be swept away into this amazing story. I am gushing over this book. I would like to thank Shelly Crane for the opportunity to read this awesome story. I can't wait to read the next book, Accordance.

This book was s refreshing and different from what is out there right now. Although I am a lover of all things paranormal it's nice to have someone think out of the box. The world Crane created was so unique and intriguing. Although the one true love concept was still there, which is what we all love in the first place, it was awesome to see how intense Caleb felt for Maggie. I loved how Maggie didn't fight her destiny but was able to roll with the punches. All in all this was a great read with a very unique take on paranormal romance. Well done Ms. Crane

What you always needed walks up when you least expect it.
My Thoughts/Review: This book is a must read. My first thought was OMG could this really happen to people? Could people fall in love the first minute they meet? The answer is a resounding yes!
Maggie is an ordinary girl graduating from high school and wanting nothing more than to be done with school and work all summer at the diner before deciding what she is going to do. Then something amazing happens to her and she is not so sure what she is going to do. She has a lot of thinking to do.
With this new decision on her mind she finds that some choices are hard to make but she has to learn to follow her heart. Falling in love is scary but once it is done there is no looking back. What is worse is when you are stuck in a love triangle and you don’t want anyone to get hurt feelings but you already know that at least two people are going to get hurt.
I loved this book right from the start! The opening lines are: I had waited for this day. For this one thing to complete me. To wrap up seventeen and a three quarter years of my life and set a pretty bow on it in the form of a graduation cap. I had waited for this one sheet of paper to tell me I had done something right.
I sat in my assigned seat, along with my classmates, in alphabetical order in front of the gym. The ones up front were in order by achievements, their faces lit with the relief of scholarships and graduation parties with gifts and family and friends. And getting out of this town.
I was numb. I had waited for this moment but now, didn‟t feel good inside. Didn‟t feel complete. Didn‟t feel achieved. I felt like I‟d slid by and barely made it. Which is exactly what I‟d done. I despised school. I was in the early release program for students who work after school, so we got out at 1:00 instead of 3:00 like everyone else. I was barely here and when I was I didn‟t want to be.
This story has so many toss and turns and lots of adventures, you will love it! What is one to do when you fall in love with a stranger? Should you listen to everyone else or should you just go for it. Maggie has made her decision and she is going through with her plan of loving and trusting someone when she could not do that a year ago. She has her best friend Becca and her ex-boyfriend Chad and her other best friend Kyle. They have spent all there lives together and had decided they were going to go to the same college and then things changed. Maggie had someone close to her walk right out of her life and senior year went from being fun to being unnoticed by everyone because she just wanted to do her senior year and get out of town far away from all the things that had happened over the year.
Then Maggie meets the love of her life and she finds out that being in love is complicated band that this particular relationship is going to be a tough one. But Maggie holds true to herself and her love and she makes things doable. What is in store for Maggie? Can she handle it? Does love survive battles? Hehehehe read on to find out!

My Thoughts/Review: This book is a must read. My first thought was OMG could this really happen to people? Could people fall in love the first minute they meet? The answer is a resounding yes!
Maggie is an ordinary girl graduating from high school and wanting nothing more than to be done with school and work all summer at the diner before deciding what she is going to do. Then something amazing happens to her and she is not so sure what she is going to do. She has a lot of thinking to do.
With this new decision on her mind she finds that some choices are hard to make but she has to learn to follow her heart. Falling in love is scary but once it is done there is no looking back. What is worse is when you are stuck in a love triangle and you don’t want anyone to get hurt feelings but you already know that at least two people are going to get hurt.
I loved this book right from the start! The opening lines are: I had waited for this day. For this one thing to complete me. To wrap up seventeen and a three quarter years of my life and set a pretty bow on it in the form of a graduation cap. I had waited for this one sheet of paper to tell me I had done something right.
I sat in my assigned seat, along with my classmates, in alphabetical order in front of the gym. The ones up front were in order by achievements, their faces lit with the relief of scholarships and graduation parties with gifts and family and friends. And getting out of this town.
I was numb. I had waited for this moment but now, didn‟t feel good inside. Didn‟t feel complete. Didn‟t feel achieved. I felt like I‟d slid by and barely made it. Which is exactly what I‟d done. I despised school. I was in the early release program for students who work after school, so we got out at 1:00 instead of 3:00 like everyone else. I was barely here and when I was I didn‟t want to be.
This story has so many toss and turns and lots of adventures, you will love it! What is one to do when you fall in love with a stranger? Should you listen to everyone else or should you just go for it. Maggie has made her decision and she is going through with her plan of loving and trusting someone when she could not do that a year ago. She has her best friend Becca and her ex-boyfriend Chad and her other best friend Kyle. They have spent all there lives together and had decided they were going to go to the same college and then things changed. Maggie had someone close to her walk right out of her life and senior year went from being fun to being unnoticed by everyone because she just wanted to do her senior year and get out of town far away from all the things that had happened over the year.
Then Maggie meets the love of her life and she finds out that being in love is complicated band that this particular relationship is going to be a tough one. But Maggie holds true to herself and her love and she makes things doable. What is in store for Maggie? Can she handle it? Does love survive battles? Hehehehe read on to find out!

Shelly Crane sure does know how to make a girl happy and boy am I a happy girl because I’ve finally read this novel. I had wanted to read it for ages but you know how review books always take priority. Thankfully though, I got it for review and started it straight away and seriously and I mean seriously, Significance is one of them novels that will take your breath away from the moment you start reading it because it’s fast paced, intense and completely touching. Butterflies will fly in your stomach and sparks will lead straight to your heart and leave you completely in love with this story.
Maggie and Caleb are such a fantastic couple, I love them. I wasn’t expected their journey to start pretty much straight away but it does and I loved every minute of it. It’s very intense and everything happens so fast but not once did I feel it felt forced or unnatural. When they shake hands, there are joined as one and become each other’s soul mate, their significant. They both see flashes of their life in the future of what’s to come and of course with Maggie being completely unaware of Aces, I think she handles everything very well and is very brave. Caleb already knows what is expected when meeting your soul mate because of his families past, but he gives Maggie the time to get to know him and take things at her pace. When becoming each other’s significant, they can get wrapped up in each other and move to fast but I loved that the author gave us enough time for them to act like a normal couple and actually try and get to know one another before all the craziness starts. Both Maggie and Caleb have the same qualities and I loved how they were and acted around each other and also had many touching scenes they had as a couple. You could really feel what they felt, the confusion, the happiness, the sadness but out of everything they were hopeful and determined to make it through the hard times that this novel bought them.
The storyline itself is exciting, dangerous and thrilling. I loved getting to explore all the Caleb’s family; the Jacobson’s gifts and how they each met their significant. And of course, I can’t forget the Watson’s. All in all they are a dangerous clan that act out because of their jealously over what the Jacobson’s have and they don’t. I really enjoyed watching their story told and I’ll look forward to watch comes next.
Overall, Shelly Crane has done an amazing job bringing soul mates and people will special gifts together in a touching and loving way. I’d highly recommend this series to fans of Joss Stirling ‘Finding Sky’ because I know you will love it just as much as me.

This was a really sweet, romantic YA paranormal romance. Those are my favorite kinds so I really enjoyed Significance! If you're looking for a sweet love story that will make you sigh and smile, this book's for you. Thanks to Shelly Crane for a great read! Going to download the next book now . . .

Blah.I wish I haven't wasted my time reading this.
It's not that the story or the characters were boring,it's just that I couldn't connect with them and sometimes found their actions plain stupid and ridiculous.There isn't much chemistry between two main characters.This is basically Twilight (which I actually like) but with soul mates instead of vampires.I mean,if you're gonna make me read an insta-love at least throw some vampires in it,you know?The supporting characters were really weird,especially Kyle and Rebecca.Example:
-the main character has been kidnapped and this is what her best friend tells her after she finds out about this:
-Kyle is obsessed with the main character,even though she has a soul mate...His cousin,for god's sake.This guy is a total creep.
I don't even know what to say.Just skip this one.

It felt like a carbon copy of Twilight. Maggie has insecurity issues, has an emotionally catatonic father. She imprints with Caleb. It's instant love, full-on lust. All the time. We never get a clear idea of the Aces' mission in life. They just use their abilities to protect their families? That's it? They don't save the world or stop Hell from taking over?
And Caleb seems too good to be true. Hot. Gorgeous. Intelligent. Makes money on his own though his family is loaded. Shows self-restraint eventhough his body is practically burning with lust for Maggie. Possessive.
The whole story lacks originality. It's formulaic. The plot is repetitive and jumpy. The Watsons are in and out. 70% of the plot is full of sappy, mushy talk between Caleb and Maggie. Couple that with lots of makeout scenes.
Makeout scenes are fine. It just felt like Shelly Crane had nothing better to fill up the story with.
The book is full of grammatical errors. The scenes where there are no grammatical errors are the makeout scenes.
I would read the next book to find out what happens between Jen and Bish.

This book has been on my tbr forever, and I’m so glad I finally got to it! It’s a really sweet romance with a minor paranormal twist that makes it unique and intriguing, and I really enjoyed it.
Maggie has had a hard year. Her mother left, her father fell to pieces, her boyfriend of three years dumped her so he could concentrate on football, and she’s gone through her senior year of high school trying to keep as under the radar as she possibly can. On her graduation night, she is on her way to meet a friend for a ‘sort of’ date, when she saves a stranger from being hit by a car. He’s gorgeous and seems really sweet, and introduces himself as Caleb. In an ironic twist, he’s also the cousin of the boy she’s meant to be going out with that very evening. But everything changes when they touch.
With one touch sparks fly, and Maggie feels it all throughout her body. She sees glimpses of a future with Caleb, and can even feel his heartbeat inside of her. And it seems that he experiences the same.
Caleb reveals to her that he is a Virtuoso, or ‘Ace’. He’s human, but with special abilities, and the two of them are soul mates – two people in the world who are perfect for each other in every way - and they have just imprinted on each other.
As Maggie comes to terms with the news, meets Caleb’s family, and comes to understand the significance of what has happened, she learns that now that she and Caleb have imprinted, the two of them will ‘ascend’, receiving supernatural powers that makes them extraordinary. It’s usually only Aces that imprint on each other, the fact that Maggie is human is rare, and not only that, but Maggie and Caleb are the first couple to imprint in over 20 years, making the whole thing extra special.
I liked the idea of imprinting. It’s attraction on steroids, making it so the two of them are completely open with each other and can barely function without the other, leaving them in great pain and withdrawing if they are separated for too long. I can see that this would not sit well with some readers, but it’s not insta-love, it’s supernatural, so I could accept their need for each other and all of the side effects that go along with it. The love comes later on and their romance is really sweet.
But they do have challenges to deal with as well – Caleb isn’t the only one interested in Maggie, and she has to contend with other boys declaring undying love for her, and her father suddenly decides it’s time to wake up and start being a father again and gets all overprotective. And then there is the feud brewing with a rival family of Aces who are not happy that Caleb and Maggie have imprinted, and will stop at nothing to stop their ascension.
I really enjoyed this story. It’s unique and engaging, and Maggie and Caleb are gorgeous together. It’s very YA so the romance is limited to kissing and discussing feelings, and the action is pretty low-key, but it held my interest, and I was keen to see what was going to happen.
But I did think that the book was longer than it needed to be. Everything is written in great detail, and there are a lot of scenes that seemingly have nothing to do with the plot at all - they feel like filler, and don’t really progress the story in any way - so the pacing felt a bit slow at times. But it provides a really strong basis for the rest of the series, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here.

Unfortunately, this book simply did not work for me....it started out somewhat shaky, but then seemed to have an interesting storyline....however, as the chapters progressed I found myself asking "Where is this story going?"....it seemed halted in it's progression; repeating itself over and over....I kept hoping for a turning point but it never came....the supernatural element could have been intriguing but it never got fully explained...I didn't even know what kind of supernatural beings they were...then it became so far fetched in it's drama element that I found myself skim reading the last several chapters simply to have this book end...a book that could have had great potential but fell flat.

One of the most wonderful things I love about Shelly Crane's writing is her ability to wrap the reader up in a love story so sweet, so beautifully done that you feel it to your core. I have so enjoyed this series and the devotion of Maggie and Caleb is breathtaking. It's such a unique idea. I love that her characters are likable and that I'm able to relate to the emotions they are feeling. I truly enjoyed this one as I always enjoy Shelly's books. Well done Shelly!

What do you say about a book that is completely and thoroughly enjoyable? I didn’t want it to end, but I couldn’t wait to get to the end so I could find out what happened.
I thought this book was pretty much perfect. I have no character complaints, I loved the plot, I loved the relationships (personal as well as familial), I loved Caleb and Maggie together, and I just loved Caleb. I could gush about Caleb forever, but I’ll leave that to Alyssa, who has posted a really great review of this book.
There were a few grammar/editing errors and a few formatting errors but I enjoyed the story enough to overlook them (for the most part). The one big formatting error I had trouble with…blank pages in between chapters. It was worse toward the end and at one point I was left feeling like part of the chapter was missing (I'm happy to say it wasn't missing). But this was just minor when I consider everything collectively.

However, the imprinting part of the story was handled in the perfect way that didn’t make the relationship feel forced. Caleb has a great family and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. This book is worth reading.
