Just for a Little While

Rate this book
After a year of traveling abroad, my parents finally trap my free-spirit into college. Even worse, my dad’s former-stepbrother has a room with my name on it. The only thing I remember about Uncle Willem is his boring button-down shirts and quiet demeanor. Except the rugged man who opens his home to me—filling out his t-shirt better than any person should—is not the man I remember. Standing here drooling over his easy dimpled smile, I wonder if I really looked at him at all. Because Willem is anything but boring and, based on the way his eyes linger on my ripped jeans and thin shirt, he is anything but bored by me. Add in that he’s a professor at my college and my major went from ‘undecided’ to ‘him’. He tries to hold back, but I have other plans in mind. College can’t start soon enough. I can’t wait to misbehave and get sent to the professor's office. One touch. One kiss. Each starts with a simple Just for a little while.

A steamy novella about a forbidden romance between a stepuncle and a stepniece, a teacher and a student, and a 33 year old man and a 19 year old woman. If you're looking for something to lose yourself with for just a little while, this book might be what you are craving for.

“Get on your knees.”

Her eyes blazed, widening like a kid in a candy shop. Without hesitation, she whipped off her shirt, exposing the creamy, pale breasts I’d grown to love, and fell to her knees. She rested her hands on my legs, inching her way between my thighs.

“Sit back. If anyone comes in, I don’t want them to know I’ve got my fat cock down my student’s throat.”

“Yes, Dr. Deander.”

So fucking wrong, and yet, as she adjusted, I unfastened my pants and pulled my hard length free, painting her lips with the leaking precum. Her tongue chased the head, tasting me.

“Now, take that sassy mouth of yours, wrap it around my cock, and make me come.”

GUYS. GUYS. OMG. How the hell does she make me so horny when I read her books? Her men are perfuckingfection. I can never get enough. I adored this forbidden romance between a feisty young Arabella and Will. The chemistry was explosive, the banter was epic and the sexy times lit my kindle on fire. I wish it was longer!!!

Happy Pub Day!

"This isn't just about a hug. This isn't about comfort. This is wrong. I'm not ready to stop. I don't want to. Instead of all that, he only said one thing and it was enough. Just for a little while."

If this story sounds familiar, it's probably because Just for a Little While was featured in the anthology Stories of September last year. However, even if you've already read this novella over there, this newly re-released version has added material to fill it out a bit more so that it stands on its own.

JFALW features some of my favorite tropes (age gap, student teacher, mild taboo elements as the H is the stepbrother of the h's father), and the steam is absolute fire level. The chemistry and banter between Arabella and Willem builds the tension so well, which I adored, and even though this is a novella with a shorter page count, there isn't an insta-love connection or a rush to get them together. We get to see the game of trying to resist each other, circling the elephant in the room for quite awhile, before being rewarded with a fireworks explosion when they finally give in. My only complaint is seriously that I wish it were longer! I could have read about this gorgeous couple for so much longer, and I look forward to dipping into Fiona's backlist while I wait for her future releases.

4 Plead Insanity Stars ⭐

For a novella, Just For A Little While gave us a sweet and spicy spin on a trope done to death, and not always well. With two lead characters that were genuine and likeable, at no point did this story feel skeevy. So considering this was an age gap relationship between a girl and her step uncle; it was exciting.

At 19 years old, Arabella is being forced to leave her wanderlust behind to attend college. Having spent her savings abroad, her parents have arranged for her to live with her her step uncle close to campus.

Dr Willem Deander is a college professor only too happy to help out a family member. Except he hadn't expected to connect with Arabella on a intellectual and emotional level.

I stood on the cliff , him by my side, and I held out my hand for him to take what he wanted.
He leaned down, preparing to take my hand and jump with me.
Only one more inch— one more breath.

With a shared love of traveling and hugs, they're like kindred spirits. Strip away the titles and they are perfectly suited. Falling is inevitable.

Do not expect some instalove, smut fest. Because somehow in a very short amount of pages, there was time for an actual build up leading to some spectacular fireworks. Willem is a hulk of a man with a penchant for tender and rough and Arabella was a hell of a lot more then the smirks and sass she hid behind. It simply worked. 💜

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

It’s pretty stinking adorable that it started with a simple hug, a need for comfort and turned into a bit of an addiction of just holding each other. Talk about all the feels!

And with the flip of a coin this shit turned dirty as hell. But I’ll fucking take it! Cuddle me, adore me and than fuck me into oblivion.

Who doesn’t fantasize about blowing their professor under his desk. No seriously, I’m sure at least 99% of the female population.

This little shortie had a lot to offer, from the cuddles to the hot kink to all the emotions. This one left me a happy little camper.

Just for a Little While was a very short and cute forbidden story about a former step Uncle and Niece. There is no real relationship between them in a family way so there was no discomfort. While they were cute together because of the story length I didn't really connect in anyway. I also wish the author would have let us in when her Dad found out about their relationship instead of being told. Overall if your short on time and want a quick read and don't care that it's not memorable this one fits the bill.

I don’t want to be mean or anything, believe me, but I should probably stop reading books by this author because both this one and her latest full-length novel Blame it on the Champagne didn’t work for me (I really liked her Voyeur series, though, and that's why I gave this book a chance). It might be me and not the book so don’t let my POV stop you from reading this, it’s just my preference.

I think that this was a full-length book instead of a novella I would probably enjoy it more. I know that is difficult for authors to fully develop a story (especially a taboo one) in a matter of just a little more than 100 pages, but I couldn’t find myself enjoying it.

Arabella is forced by her parents to attend college when all she wants is to travel around the world. She moves in with her dad’s stepbrother that she doesn’t know very well because they only met a few times over holidays, and she’s instantly attracted by him as much as he is by her.

I think that Arabella was really immature, I couldn’t connect with her at all. I respect that she wanted to travel instead of going to college, but her behavior was really childish, at least for me. As for Willem I can’t say much, I didn’t like or dislike him. I didn’t understand how they came close to each other and I didn’t feel their chemistry before they became intimate.

Overall, a pretty flat, taboo story that I couldn’t enjoy and I only finished because it was a short read.

Very short but extremely steamy.
I adore Fiona Cole’s heroes, and Willem was quite possibly one of my favourites. Saying that though, I think I have an even bigger crush on Arabella; despite being only 19, she was strong and knew exactly what she wanted, and I really loved that about her.
If forbidden romance is your thing, then I highly recommend you read this book; FC does taboo so well and this just made me want to go and read her other books all over again.

There is just something so special about Fiona's books! I start her books, and then I immediately block out everyone and everything around me until I get to the very end, and then I want to start reading all over again! And this novella is no exception!

If you read the anthology "Stories of September" that released last year, then you've already had a glimpse of the forbidden passion between Willem and Arabella, but now you get to see how their entire relationship unfolded, the intense chemistry and the undeniable love between them, as well as their happy ever after!! And despite this being a shorter book than the author usually writes, there is still so much emotion to it, which I absolutely adored!

Fiona is my favorite forbidden romance author out there, and I definitely love how filthy she is -- and Willem definitely has a FILTHY mouth!!-- but what I love even more is just how amazing the characters she writes truly are. Willem and Arabella fit together so perfectly, and even though there's the forbidden aspect between them as well as an age gap.. they just *fit.* And despite this being a novella, there isn't an insta-love aspect to it. You see these two fight their connection to each other as long as they can, and that added angst just made this book that much better for me! I just loved everything about this book and I can't wait to see what this author will come up with next!

There are certain authors I know will always bring the tension and heat and Fiona Cole is one of them. I love her dirty talking alphas and sassy heroines and I haven’t been let down by a single book of hers. The woman can write a sex scene so hot.. gah! I loved reading about Willem & Arabella in 2020’s September anthology and seeing their story expanded was a nice surprise. To me, this wasn’t as taboo as it could have been but still, it was a quick steamy novella that ticked my boxes. 4 solid stars.

„You couldn't handle my darkest fantasies.”
„Try me.”

Holy smokes! It was a quick and dirty read, filled with witty banter and delicious tension. This novella is the quintessence of Fiona Cole's writing in a nutshell. Alpha hero, sassy heroine and the thrill of the taboo- this is exactly why I fell with Fiona's stories in the first place. Just For A Little While is the perfect combination of forbidden, age-gap, student/teacher romance and the only complaint I have is that it was too short! It was so freaking good!

Wow, let me cool down for a little while. This was one hot quick and sexy read. Cole sure knows how to write sexy, dirty and forbidden and I loved everything about this read.

Arabella is a typical 19-year-old girl full of wit and sass and is heading to college. While she is at college she will be staying with her step-uncle.

From the moment they meet, there is such longing between them and they connect on another level with a mutual love for travelling and exploring.

Their affair is HOT and I loved sexy, dominant and possessive Willem and would love more from this couple!

HOLY HOTNESS. I’m pretty much convinced no one writes sexy like Fiona Cole- and this shorty is intensely passionate with the age gap, forbidden flair that makes Fiona Cole one of my go-to one clicks. We’ve got a “uncle” and niece who also happen to be student and teacher, and I am here for this delightfully taboo and steamy story. Willem is so delicious- if you like Fiona heroes, he’s for you. Alpha, possessive, dominant. For a short, this one has plenty of build up and SCORCHING chemistry- and well as good emotional connection. And, the additional content (this was originally published in the Stories of September anthology) added some additional chemistry and more closure that made this short feel like even bigger bite. Willem and Arabella lit my kindle on fire- I would love even more of this story!

So I originally read this in the stories of September anthology... and I really enjoyed it, and instantly wanted more. Now after some added content, I love it even more.

This is a slightly Taboo, professor student, and age gap relationship. It has it all. It has some really sweet moment with all the amazing steam you’d expect from Fiona Cole. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Fiona Cole writes some of my favorite steamy scenes, but with a genuinely good plot.

This is a story about Willem and Arabella.
Willem is Arabella’s step uncle, she is sent to live with him, since she didn’t sign up for a dorm in time, to stay at during college.
Did I mention he also works at the same college Callum does (from Voyuer), It is stated, that this novella is in the same world as the Voyuer series, and I loved that little throw back.

This is a novella so it’s shorter then the typical book you see from her. The story was amazing, and the steam was off the charts. They each brought out different aspects in one another. I love these characters and I’m so glad she added more to the story. I definitely recommend this novella!

This is a short and sweet book--a perfect example of how to write a realistic and slow burn romance that’s also a novella. The progression of the relationship between Willem and Arabella was adorable. Despite their age gap, they have a lot in common, particularly their love of travel. Arabella does come across as a tad immature at first, but she does have a unique personality for a romance heroine. She’s no withering wallflower! Fortunately, she grows more mature as the story develops. 4 stars!

Glad to have Fiona back with a very 🔥 book. This forbidden romance is a typical story that will take you with storm and get you addicted. These characters was fire together. Arabella was a hell of a fierce woman , a total queen and Will was a hot ass man you just can’t resist. And I must say the sex scenes was fire , totally fire - it’s hard not to be affected by it. Lots of fire in this review but that’s how I could explain it the best way, Thank you Valentine PR and Fiona for the arc!

Holy hell is this story hot AF!!! The chemistry between Willem and Arabella could not be denied and they tried.

"Just For A Little While"

That's what they allowed themselves as the would hug each other, as they were just themselves. It is at times sweet and emotional, witty and angsty. It is everything that I have come to love about a Fiona Cole book. What I love about this age gap story is that Willem recognizes Arabella's need to be herself, he didn’t want to change anything about her, he let her grow into what she needed and wanted to be.

Arabella wants to explore and travel the world, however, her parents also want her to have an education. She agrees to go to school in the fall and ends up staying with her father’s stepbrother, Willem. He also happens to be an economics professor at the school.

From the moment they meet there is an attraction between them and insane amounts of tension. It started with hugs, then slowly grew into something more and eventually they couldn’t resist the chemistry growing between them. I loved Willem. He is hardworking, he is sweet and caring and he shares a love of travel with Arabella. Arabella is kind of a brat at the beginning, not wanting to give into her parents depends, but as the story progresses, she really grows up and finds herself.

I completely fell in love with these characters, their relationship and their story. I didn’t want their story to end and wanted more.

If you’re looking for an age gap, student/teacher romance this is one to check out.

Forbidden romance. Older man younger girl. Legal! And one who happens to be your dads stepbrother? It’s going to get complicated. It’s also going to be hot.

Chemistry sizzles, long glances, secret touches. When these two come together it’s explosive.

I love this story so so much, I was hooked form page one and couldn't stop reading. (ps: is always like that with any book by Fiona Cole.)

Just for a Little While was the story of forbidden love between Arabella and Willem. And OMG THIS STORY IS HOT!!!!

The attraction between these two is electric and their chemistry beyond fantastic, the only problem is that technically they are consider family and Willem is much older than Arabella. So yes, is not the ideal situation but love knows no boundaries.

And so "just for a little while" these two start exploring something forbidden but oh just so right. They are able to truly see one another, the shared the same interests and the same spirits.

Bravo Fiona, this was another amazing read.
