Preparing for Passover: A 14-Day Devotional for the days from Biblical New Year to Passover

Rate this book
In this devotional, intended for the fourteen days between Biblical New Year and Passover, we will explore four facets of the calling of Moses and each of the Ten Plagues in an effort to prepare our own hearts for our own journeys with our God. We will explore the things holding us back from experiencing true intimacy with our God including the past, our own insecurities, other people, and idolatry of our hearts. By the end of this devotional, we will be truly ready to respond and move forward in confidence when we hear the words, "Let My people go!" and our Passover celebrations will be even more meaningful because of the time we have spent preparing our hearts for this Appointed Time with the One True God.

I bought this book shortly before Passover but didn't end up getting to it right away. I just finished it today (early October), but it was still really meaningful. I thought I knew the Passover story really well, considering that I've read it more times than I can count, and I taught it to my students every year for nearly two decades. But I still learned a lot about the deeper meaning behind each plague and Passover itself. I highlighted lots of details in the book that I want to remember, and I plan to refer back to it whenever I teach about the Ten Plagues or the Passover again. I hope this author writes more devotional books—I'll definitely buy them!

Definitely a thought provoking read.

This was a well written devotional style book. I found it to be very interesting and thought provoking. I particularly enjoyed the section on the potential for idolatry of nationalism.

Well written Passover devotional reminding us of God’s sovereignty and great love for us. It all points to Jesus, the perfect fulfillment of the Passover lamb!

I will definitely repeat this devotional next Passover!
