Three years since their return, Kai and the others find themselves living independently in an unfamiliar world. The Schema’s influence looms larger than they could’ve ever imagined, permeating nearly all aspects of modern life. From guiding global policy to selecting your evening’s entrée, State’s feedback program snuffs out uncertainty to protect society at-large.
Partnering with State, companies like Dynamism and Normalized Securities utilize the Schema to offer critical insight for their customers, shielding them from whatever hazards lurk within their futures. But despite widespread adoption, a handful of mysterious cases call into question the Schema’s accuracy—and State’s willingness to redact its mistakes.
According to scripture, an ancient figure once prophesied the return of three chosen travelers, commonly known as Precedents. Each of them hide in plain sight.
Avery Dox is a professional software engineer, avid developer enthusiast, and former accident-prone skydiver. He is best known for authoring the speculative fiction trilogy The Schema. A student of behavioral economics, his work often explores the human condition and its interaction with emerging technology or theoretical phenomena. When he’s not writing, coding, or building robots, he enjoys daydreaming about writing, coding, and building robots.
The final book in this Trilogy. A very satisfying end to the series with interwoven themes of cults, delusions, technology, happiness, family and even snakes. Though technically about the future, I found I was pausing regularly to think about their world and how we are getting closer and closer to it without seeming to be aware of where we are going.
