Where there’s smoke, there’s fire...

Brother’s Keeper bodyguard, Mercy Wyatt is laying low on Wyatt Ranch in Stoneridge Montana waiting for his next assignment.

When he chases down a mysterious cloud of smoke on his property, he finds a car engulfed in flames, a beautiful woman watching it burn and a little girl clinging to her side. He can’t leave the two of them alone, and when he offers the mother and daughter a safe place to stay, the fear in Sarah’s eyes is a dead giveaway that something isn’t as it seems, and his instincts warn him that there’s more to their story.

In order for Mercy to protect them from whatever they’re running from, he needs to earn their trust. But the more time he spends with Sarah and daughter, the harder it’ll be to let them go.

One by one the pieces click into place, and soon Mercy finds himself racing against time to figure out who the raven-haired beauty really is… and what she’s hiding.

Mercy Wyatt finds the origin of the smoke he saw. The woman and little girl standing by the burning car have stolen his heart at first sight. He sees fear in her eyes and wants to know the reason. Stephanie St Klaire again blows my mind with the way her mind works. She has a knack for making me bite my nails, and have nightmares. Mercy and Sarah's story will grab you and hold you hostage for the duration of the book. A gripping story with smart characters and wonderful, well thought out and researched writing. This whole series it totally worth the read!! I highly recommend this series.

FAN-TAS-TIC!! If there existed a 10 star rating this story would be it. The suspense is chilling and the romance is swoon worthy. I KNEW Mercy’s story was going to be great but this was so much better than my expectations. Gray and Glory’s story is heartbreaking but with Mercy’s help and protection they get the HEA they deserve. If you are a romantic suspense lover you don’t want to pass up this story. I promise you will be glued to your seat until the end.

Ugh, barely a chapter in and Mercy (so not a guys name) makes a move and forces a kiss on a terrified of her own shadow Sarah who is running away from a physically abusive man all while repeatedly professing how safe she is.. Seriously? Safe from everyone except for Mercy. (Insert major eye roll for zero character development.) After Mercy forced a kiss on her I gave up. Not the kind of man I'm interested in reading about.

VERY REPETATIVE AND TOO MANY SECRET AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS. IT REMINDED ME OF An ONION, MANY LAYERS TO KEEP UP WITH; FBI, SAFE HAVEN, KEEPERS MC, VALDEN CARTEL AND ALVES, IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MORE. IT HAD ONE OF THE FASTEST SEX I CAN REMEMBER SEX ON THE SECOND DAY OF MEETING. THE STORYLINE WAS A BIT CORNY AND UNBELIEVABLE. ;<

meh not for me

This book was repetitive, boring at times and too long. I gave it 2 stars because I’m passionate about the subject and wish more was being done to end trafficking. I like the genre but this one just missed the mark. Enough said.

I am a huge fan of Stephanie's work & am always eager to get my hands on her new releases! Deadly Pursuit was no exception but I won't lie, I could've used a trigger warning on this one. I struggled through some difficult parts with the same uncomfortable feeling as when I watched Mommy Dearest almost 30 years ago. I'll never forget my boyfriends mom asking me why I didn't just turn the movie off & I simply said, "I need to see how it ends. I need to know justice is served." I have never compared a book to a movie, I've never had a book hit me so hard such as Deadly Pursuit & I've never had a book trigger me. Don't let that stop you from reading it, don't let my own trigger warning needs turn you away, just know that the realness of Stephanie's writing is powerful & may hit close to home. Also know that there are equally real heroes in the world that will help you find your own way through whatever you may have experienced in life, because we all have a story. It may trigger nothing for you. I've been through a lot in my time & have only ever been triggered by one other life experience prior to this. This book was hard for me. Hard for me to read, hard for me to finish, hard to write about, and hard not to love & appreciate. I appreciate the tenderness she builds into her strong male characters to support & nurture her strong, independent women. I love that she reinforces her female characters strengths & doesn't shy away from the feeling of brokenness, nor does she let her men try to "fix" the women. Stephanie does her research, she writes about intense situations that you can only pray are fictional because they're scary as all get out. Stephanie pushes herself in her writing with every book, so buckle up because to get to her HEA you have to first work through some extreme situations & you gotta want it! But she will deliver & it is always worth it!

I love this!

Mercy doesn’t get “involved” with women and he certainly doesn’t fall in love! He does have his needs and has encounters as such, that’s as far as it goes, the love-em and leave-em kind of guy, but with class. He has a very dangerous job and relationships don’t go well with that.

Mercy meets Gray, a/k/a Sarah, when he sees a fire on the back road of his family’s property. Turns out her car is burning and she and her daughter are standing in the cold, having escaped the fire, watching it burn.

The mystery of who Sarah really is, what she is hiding and who she is running from are the main focus for the first part of this exciting story. Mercy knows there is more to Sarah than what she is telling, but not sure how to get her to talk without bolting. It becomes a dangerous situation for Sarah and her daughter Glory when Mercy realizes they have left. He knew they were going to leave after Christmas, but they left without saying good-bye and that bothers him. It bothers him so much he starts searching for them and discovers he’s not the only one.

The danger escalates and things become intense when Mercy learns that Sarah and Glory are running from monsters...drug running human traffickers who want nothing more than to silence Sarah/Gray. She is one of the lucky ones - she survived the torture and abuse by these monsters.
During all of the danger and excitement, Mercy can’t help but discover he has feelings for Gray and their chemistry is explosive!

An exceptionally exciting story with Mercy finding his forever HEA is one you don’t want to miss!

This is book three in The Keeper's Series and it is Mercy and Sarah's (Gray's) story and omg this is so emotional. When Mercy sees a fire on his ranch he goes to see what is happening only to find a car on fire and a woman and child standing there but something wasn't quite right about the situation but his instant attraction to the woman was not good as it just complicated everything. The more time Mercy and Sarah spent together the stronger his feeling grew and even though he knew that she was in trouble and had been through something horrific by the condition of her he knew that he would be there for them both and help her but then she just disappeared taking part of his heart with her but he knew that he had to find them because they were in danger. There are many twists and turns along the way but you could feel all the physical and emotional pain that Sarah had been through as if you were there with her and going through everything yourself. I couldn't put this book down as it was a absolutely amazing story that got you hooked right from the first page until the last and it was so addictive. Stephanie St Klaire is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed as she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of your seat.

Mercy Wyatt is home on his family’s ranch at Christmas when he discovers a vehicle on fire. He tries to put the fire out and discovers ‘Sarah Jones’ and her daughter, Glory, who just escaped from the car. Mercy is pretty sure the name is a false one, and he knows that Sarah is hiding something, but he still feels very protective of her and Glory. They are both drawn to each other, and spend some time getting to know each other during the Christmas holiday season. Mercy discovers that Sarah is indeed hiding things. Unfortunately, she leaves the ranch before he finds out all the details. When he finally decides to go after her, he is almost too late. It turns out there’s a bounty on her head, and she’s been framed for a murder she didn’t commit. However, it’s much bigger than that, and the Keepers have a big job ahead of them.

The tension in this book starts up a little slow, and then it builds and builds. These characters are so likable and they’re both so broken, and it is a joy to watch them develop and grow and get stronger. There’s a strong sense of community in this book, which is something that Sarah, now named Gray, needs. Mercy is a swoon-worthy hero, and Gray is a survivor and a heroine. The pacing stays pretty tight throughout this whole book. This is definitely an exciting and worthwhile read if you’re at all interested in the Keepers series!

Stephanie knows how to weave a tale filled with intrigue, danger, and romance. Mercy Lawson is home at his ranch on vacation for Christmas. He needs some down time as he is one of the Elite Security Team of Brothers Keepers. When he comes across a burning car on his property and a beautiful young mother and daughter stranded, he feels something in his heart for them he has never experienced before. Sarah Jones and her daughter Glory become guests of his family for Christmas. Even though Mercy can tell Sarah is hiding and keeping secrets, he falls head over heels for her.

As the truths emerge, so does the grave danger that Sarah and Glory are in. The far reaching implications bring a whole new set of rules to keep these two safe while working to bring down the criminals that have eluded capture for such a long time. My heart broke as Sarah's story was revealed, as well as others that she witnessed. Stephanie kept me glued to the pages, twisting my heart into pieces but unable to pull myself away. Eventually my heart was able to scramble back into shape, a little worn but satisfied.

I love these Brothers Keepers Books, the loyalty and camaraderie they share, some of them blood, some not but no less loyal. I wish there was an epilogue, but since there is going to be a second book, I assume it will be in the next book.

Brother’s Keeper bodyguard, Mercy Wyatt is laying low at his family's ranch in Montana until the next assignment. However, he doesn't realize his next assignment is coming to him.

He sees a blaze of smoke and fire coming from the roadside along the property line. He and his family rush over to try to help / see what is going on. Once he lays eyes on the driver he can't take his eyes off of her.

Sarah and her daughter, Glory, have been traveling for a while, and trying to stay off the grid. Sarah is on the run, but, for how much longer?

Mercy can tell Sarah has been through something traumatic but he's not sure what all has happened to her. She can't find the words to talk to him about anything. But Sarah see's the kindness in his eyes. When Mercy thinks things are going well with Sarah and he's finally breaking her shell, she disappears. When Mercy starts looking for her, he realizes that he's not the only one looking for her.

Will Mercy be able to find Sarah & Glory? Or will whoever else is looking for her find them first? Will Sarah be able to trust Mercy? Will she be able to allow herself to open up to him and his family that have shown nothing but kindness to her and her daughter?

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.

Mercy Wyatt should go with his gut more often…after all, he IS a Brother’s Keeper. So is that the reason why ‘Sarah’ and her daughter ‘Glory’ show up at the Wyatt ranch…or is it merely fate or coincidence…

Stephanie St. Klaire is freaking AMAZING at romantic suspense!!! I was on the edge of my seat and my anxiety level was through the roof while reading Deadly Pursuit! GAH!!! I just LOVED this book so much! The suspense part was so perfectly executed as was the base storyline. The heat was whew! And the characters were relatable, mysterious and blended so well! I loved the Brother’s Keepers characters and the interaction with the “newbies” as well as the family we have met from the previous books in this series.

This book will have you thinking, crying, and freaking the F out! I cannot wait for the next book in the series! You really need to read the previous books in this series to get the full effect and you will have an understanding of the dynamic of the “Brother’s Keepers”. 5 Stars!!!

**This book’s storyline may be a trigger for some. There is human/sex trafficking involved, and although the author does bring awareness by writing this, it may not be for all readers.

A fire of unknown origin. A woman and child now stranded on the Wyatt Ranch in Montana. Mercy Wyatt comes to the rescue and has an instant connection with Sarah and her daughter. He is not a relationship man, but he feels something more than just kindness for Sarah. When she leaves the ranch without telling Mercy, he is bothered by her unannounced departure and soon leaves to find her.

Sarah has secrets and is on the run. She must escape her pursuers and doesn't want to let anyone else in on her secrets. As Mercy and Sarah's relationship blossoms, although they are both holding back so the other person doesn't get hurt. When Sarah's past comes to call, Mercy and all the men of 'The Brothers Keepers' jump in to help Sarah and her daughter.

Gosh...what doesn't go on in this authors mind. Devious and sadistic don't even touch the kinds of issues that Ms. St. Klaire takes on in this series. Kind of a stolen from the headlines look at human trafficking and the things that happen to the people who are bought and sold like chattel. The amount of time spent fact checking for this series has to be enormous, but the books that come out of that kind of attention to detail are fabulous!

Suspense, danger, and ultimately, love and redemption.

St. Klaire's diabolical mind (seriously, the stuff this woman knows is terrifying!) gives us another fantastic story of a strong, protective man who falls for a woman and (unbelievably to him) finds himself willing to do anything for her...and her little girl. Mercy is another of the guys that belongs to one of the secret organizations that tackles tough cases and brings people to justice. They have lots of help, and they're going to need it for this case.

The woman that shows up looking for him isn't all she seems to be. She has enough scars to detail a horrific past and is determined to hide. If she helps them by telling what she know, she can help bring many powerful people to justice. Can she do it or will it bring too much trauma back to her?

Can Mercy get through her memories of the past and get her to trust him and maybe love him? First of all, he has to keep her past and the evil people in it from getting her again. That may be quite the challenge, but The Keepers are always up for a challenge!

Deadly Pursuit is "hold on to your hat" dark story. The author did not hold back with this suspenseful romance. Evil oozed off the pages.

The story dealt with some of the most horrible crimes that happen in our society. It brought the dangers and tragedy of sex trafficking out from behind the closed door. Thankfully, Deadly Pursuit has a happy ending which softened the feelings brought out in this detailed, descriptive crime novel.

Deadly Pursuit wasn't all doom and gloom. Members of Brothers Keepers Security and The keepers Security play and integral part in helping bring down those responsible. I do enjoy reading about the O'Reillys and those that work with them.

Mercy falling for Gaby was worth every horror. Mercy doting over Glory, Gaby's little girl made dealing with the tragedy a little lighter. I knew that Mercy and the brothers would keep them safe. I knew reading about the Brothers taking down the criminal masterminds would have me hooked and refusing to put it down. Everything could wait. O'Reillys to the rescue.

This book will have you on the edge of your seat with the tension, danger, drama and suspense! It brings together characters from both Brothers Keepers and McKenzie Ridge series. This is Mercy’s chance at a hea. There is a very dark theme of human trafficking, abuse, rape and violence throughout the book so if any of this is a trigger for you then don’t read this. It is handled with compassion and empathy with Mercy and the rest of the Keepers as well as a new group, Safe Haven, who’s mission is to save those victims. Graciella/Gray/Sarah shows up on the dirt road leading to Mercy Wyatt’s ranch with her daughter Glory and their car is ablaze. Mercy takes them in an instantly senses she scared and running but has no idea of from who or what. The connection between them is instant but her demons cause her to run from the ranch. Mercy takes off looking for her and that’s when he learns about Safe haven.

Mercy Wyatt is home for the holidays. The last thing he expects to do is rescue a mysterious woman and her daughter. There’s something about Sarah Jones that intrigues Mercy, but he knows she’s hiding something and one of the things he’s good at is uncovering secrets. But the more he learns, the more complicated things get until Sarah’s on the run again with her daughter, and Mercy determined to find her and save them both.

This is an exciting, intriguing tale that will keep you thoroughly engaged from start to finish. The subject matter is a difficult one – human trafficking, but the narrative quickly draws you in and keeps you engrossed throughout. The story’s filled with emotional drama, suspense, intense action, and steamy passion, all elements that make this a captivating read. Of course, the Brothers’ Keepers are involved which only adds to the overall entertainment value with well-drawn characters and a fast-paced storyline. It’s a definite keeper, that’s for sure.

You can never go wrong with a Stephanie St Klaire book and this one is compelling, suspenseful, sweet and surprising. This book is better than any rollercoaster ride ,with twists, turns and surprises throughout that you never see coming. This is the third in the Brothers Keepers series and is a breathtaking ,chilling ride to the end.Mercy sees Sarah and Glory by the side of their car, which is on fire by his ranch and wants to help them. He has no idea what or who they are running from but he is determined to help them , if only he can find out the truth. The truth is more chilling and diabolical than you can imagine and is clearly bigger than imagined, reaching far and wide. I could not put this book down, between the suspense and heartfelt sincerity between the characters and the love to overcome these challenges it is a must read.

Mercy Wyatt is taking a break at the family ranch until his next assignment when he meets Sarah and her daughter Glory on ranch property next to a burning car. Mercy goes into protective mode and is determined to keep them safe. I do love how protective the guys are in The Keeper series. You need to get Deadly Pursuit to find out what happens next and believe me you will not be disappointed. I have been reading this author's books for a few years now and she writes the best romantic suspense books out there and Deadly Pursuit is definitely one of the best I have read. This book is packed with family, drama, danger, suspense, mystery, action, steam, and a story that held me captive from the first page until the last. I recommend you read this book, this series, and anything this author writes. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Another hit from Ms. St. Klaire. Her stories are thrilling & full of danger from all directions. Mercy is a member of the Brothers Keepers security force. During some down time, he comes across a woman & child with fear in their eyes. As Mercy takes them under his wing, he knows that Sarah isn’t telling him the complete truth. How can he protect them if she doesn’t trust him with the truth?

I love the characters that this author developed. They pull your attention into the story & you become fully invested in their lives. She has created a group of security experts that basically have become a family. They have each other’s backs & enfold their girlfriends/spouses into their protection. Once you start reading this story, you’d better have plenty of time because this story will keep you reading until the end.

This is a fast paced fall hard read where we have Mercy at home on the family ranch while he is between jobs when a car catches fire and finds a woman and child in need. I loved how Mercy tried to fight the initial attraction to Sarah aka Gray and the protectiveness he has for not only Sarah but Glory as well and how he just when he thinks he won't see them again his latest job slaps him in the face. When you start to find out about what Sarah is hiding your heart just breaks for her and then when the Brothers Keepers and co come together for her you want to cheer, but can they bring down the evil behand all the painful things Sarah has seen and endured.... this book has action, attraction, bad guys, hero's and one heck of a strong woman that deserves a HEA!

Wow! Wow! Wow! The story starts off with a car on fire, a woman who has lost everything in her car other than her little girl, and a mystery. And she's skittish when Mercy tries to find out what happened. It's obvious she is hiding something but he decides not to push her until he can earn her trust, especially since she is bringing out his protective side.

There are plenty of bad guys in this book and a period where it is unknown if some of the characters are bad or good guys. There are a lot of interesting characters besides Mercy and Sarah - Mercy's mother, Killion (the Keeper's tech guy), and I especially liked Wit. Between the suspense and the romance, you won't want to put this book down.

Deadly Pursuit is the third Book in the Brother's Keepers Series. A series that is getting better with each book, which seems impossible as each book is really good and all are must reads. Even though this is part of a series I believe you would be fine reading it as a stand alone...but why would you....

Mercy is home for the holidays between assignments and is riding on his family's ranch when he comes across Sarah and her little girl Glory next to their burning vehicle. Mercy knows there's more to Sarah's story and doing his best to find out what it is so he can help her and her daughter.

This book has the best of everything-suspense, intrigue, moments that will bring tears to your eyes and some twists that will keep you spellbound until the very end.

Mercy is laying low at the family ranch for the Christmas holiday while waiting for his next assignment with Brothers Keepers. He had no idea the burning car he came upon would change his life forever.

SSK brings her latest installment in the Keeper’s series and continues to us bring her A game. No one writes suspense and curveballs better than her. Seriously, her mind is a scary place lol. I loved Mercy and Gray’s story, but it definitely isn’t for the faint of heart. Hearing what Gray (Sarah) went through will break your heart and it can only take the love of a strong man to remind her she’s the strong survivor she really is. I need more and can’t wait for what’s next!

This is an excellent book. Cannot help to fall in love with Mercy.

Sarah and Gloria find themselves on a ranch road with their car engulfed in fire. Now how are they going to get to Oregon?

It happens that the car is on the ranch of Mercy Wyatt. Mercy happens to be the brother of President Ransom Wyatt.

Are Sarah and Gloria really their name? Sarah appears to have bruises and scars and is very scared. Was she being hurt or abused? What has happened?

This book is about a sensitive subject of human trafficking. What happens to these children, women etc that are being bought and sold right here? Can it be stopped? Will the politicians and persons buying and selling these women be held accountable for their actions?

This book is well worth the read!!

Wow! Just an amazing book. Fast paced, well written, full of drama, intrigue and suspense.
Gray and her daughter, Glory are on the run, but keeping their story to themselves acting like nothing was wrong. But Mercy, a security guy saw right through her and vowed to find out her problem and protect her with his life if necessary.
I loved this book. It's the first from this author but not the last, that's for sure. I loved the characters including the support team especially Killion. So good! Too good really!

Mercy Wyatt is back at his family ranch for the holidays when he notices smoke. On following the smoke cloud, he comes across a mother and daughter duo near a burning car. From the minute Mercy meets Sarah and her daughter, he feels protective towards them, and though he knows she is hiding something big from him he wants to keep her safe. And he does that or so he thinks till one day they disappear in the middle of the night.
Stephanie St Klaire has spun a story that is emotional, suspenseful, has steamy passion and some intense drama. It touches upon a very sensitive topic and had me so engrossed that I had shivers while reading. A truly captivating read.

Just when I thought the O'Reilly brothers were over the top, the Wyatts are just as awesome ! Mercy is so intrigued and quickly drawn to Sarah it's as if she was meant to be there. But the lies, the chase and the truth just made him even more determined to save find her and try to save her. Her story is so sad but yet she got out so much stronger. Can Mercy find a way to keep her safe and break thru her broken life without ruining his own ?
Drama, secrets, survival, loyalty and truth all mixed in with villains, heroes and political secrets.
Once again Stephanie St.Klaire finds a way to keep us on edge and binge read both books !
