REVIEW: Ashton and Cassie suffered an unimaginable loss immediately following their graduation from High School. This subsequently led to their parting ways in a less than amicable fashion. Fast forward ten years and life is different. Ashton, a tight end in the NFL, has come back home to Camilla Falls to help with a family matter. He's trying to lay low and hopes to maybe make amends with Cassie.

Cassie's life hasn't been easy. After her heartbreaking separation from Ashton she put her life together and found happiness. Then one fateful day it all changed. Now a widowed single mother to a thee year old, the last thing shes looking for is love.

It was cute to see these two explore the friendship they once had. It was heartwarming to see how Ashton chose to woo Cassie and her daughter Lulu at the same time. And the ending was perfect for them! I hope we can one day see cameo's of this couple in Aurora's sports world out in San Francisco.

This is a review for Flight Risk by KF Hassall

Alina is broken & tender & has had a shitty home life. She moves away when Dalton breaks up with her to pursue a modeling career. She becomes extremely successful & is sucked into a pretty toxic life. After realizing she needs to make a change, she comes home to heal. Dalton is controlled & determined & sexy AF. He is still in love with Alina & working on a plan to set things right. When they run into each other sparks fly, but can they pick up where they left off? Dalton has a secret, but will Alina understand? I LOVED Dalton & Alina so much. This story was steamy & sweet. I want more of their story & I definitely want more of Dalton’s associates stories, too.

Good but very quick (roughly a hour) read. Good story about second chances with a blast from their past, told in both POVs.

Teenaged dad, Dean, had his life turned about in quick successions add to a never back down new neighbor. Sawyer is headstrong when she needs to be, sweet & caring or she can hold a grudge. She’s back into town that she called home after 5 years with a 4 year old daughter, Grace. Second day back the blast from her past literally blow her down and his sweet son she hasn’t seen since he was still a baby. He fighting for her and she’s fighting against him but who will prevail??

This review is for Heather Lauren's Bourbon Backroads. A quick summer romance read of decisions made as we come to age and having to live with the consequences to ourselves and the impact on others. Although Bourbon Backroads is a page turner that can be polished off in a single afternoon pool or beach side, there are a lot of elements that move hastily. In the end, Bourbon Backroads will leave you with warm fuzzy feelings.

Redemption is hard, but worth it

This story is amazing. Sawyer and Dean have been separate after a fateful decision. But now Sawyer is home and Dean won't waste this opportunity.
Its a short sweet novel, another piece in the world Heather is creating. I do wish it was a longer book, but it's perfect none the less. Amazing read.

Review for Bourbon Backroads by Heather Lauren

I love a second chance, single dad romance; you get this and more with this book. Bourbon Backroads is a quick small town read with witty dialog, especially from the littles. I want a dog like Duke!

Sawyer has returned; she left home years ago heartbroken, as Dean has ended the relationship, which she thought was forever. Dean has stayed home, raised his son, and worked the family business.

A mishap with a shopping cart and Dean finds out Sawyer has returned home. The sparks are still there, and Dean takes this as an opportunity to see if they are real. With the help of his son, the wingman, can they make it happen? A truth from the past is revealed; will this keep them apart?

I love the premise of this anthology and can not wait to read more of the authors involved.

Capturing Cabe is one of the stories in the Resisting You Anthology by Layne Daniels. This was a cute second chance at love romance. Has a grand gesture, steamy love scene, ends with a HEA and has an epilogue. If all the other short stories in Thai anthology are this good, I can’t wait to read the others!!!

I read “Only For You” by Aurora Paige from this anthology. It was a really good second chance romance. Ashton left home ten years ago to become a football star, leaving behind his first love Cassie in the process. Now he’s back and wants her to give him another chance but she’s a single mother with more than her heart to worry about. This story is a slow burn second chance romance with good characters and a fun story.

This is the story of Dean and Sawyer. They were in love since she moved next door his house. He was seventeen and had the responsibility of a son. Sawyer helped him to take care of his son when he was working or studying. One day, Dean broke up with her and left her destroyed. Once she graduated from high school, she left to college. After 5 years, she returned and he wanted a second chance. This time she has a daughter. They still love each other and after a kiss they realized they were in love more than ever. But she needs some explanation about why he broke with her and the other Girl she saw the day he broke with her.
This is a nice story full of love and second opportunities. I loved the characters and the plot. Highly recommended.

Capturing Cade and Getting Her Back

Capturing Cade by Layne Daniels
I have to say I loved this for multiple reasons, but one major reason is it is a story about a girl in the video game industry. I also loved that Cade realized how he felt about Gwen and was willing to learn something that was difficult for him to understand her better. When he played the online game with her, it was so sweet. If you like video games and romance, you will enjoy this story.

Getting Her Back by M.K. Moore
A sweet story about realizing what you left behind. This quick read was about Garrett and Karlee meeting again after several years and starting where they left off. I love how Garrett was so understanding of Karlee’s choice and decided to embrace his new life completely. I wish it was a longer story, I fell in love with the charters and want more.

Overall, I recommend both of these stories, especially if you enjoy second chance romances.

Getting Her Back by M.K. Moore

I thought that this was a really sweet book. Garrett and Karlee are cute together. Karlee makes a decision that changed her and Garrett's life but she couldn't see any other way. Garrett has been away at college but he has never given up hope of getting back to Karlee and make her see that they belong together. This was a fast paced second chance romance that will warm your heart and leave you smiling.

I read Only For You by Aurora Paige and the story of Ashton and Cassie was really sad. They had such a wonderful young love in high school and then they kind of just separated after really bad circumstances that made me pretty angry with Ashton. Then they find themselves thrust back together when Ashton returns to his hometown for his father's surgery and the attraction they had before is immediately there all over again. I don't know if I could have forgiven him as easily as Cassie did, but she has a pretty amazing heart and I admire her for that.

I read Capturing Cabe by L. Daniels in this story. I've never read this author before and the premise caught my eye. This is a quick read with a couple that has a second chance. I liked the story, the characters, the way they spoke, all of it. My only issue is I wish we got a little more of Cabe and Gwen before they split, they sound like a cute couple. A fast read that I liked.

Cabe and Gwen have a deep and powerful connection, together they bring out the best in each other, separated they are lost. Cabe plan to win Gwen back will warm your heart and have you melting in your seat. Their chemistry is hotter than a day in July.

Getting Her Back is a quick love story of finding your one and only and never letting go. Garrett and Karlee met on the playground, he knew she was more the first moment he spoke to her. It's been three years and Garrett is headed home to get back the women he is meant to be with.

This is a good story filled with love and heart, that has no major drama, just a love of family.

Bourbon Backroads by Heather Lauren
This is a quick read and is Dean and Sawyer’s story. Dean pushed Sawyer away in high school when he became a teenaged single dad, and Sawyer is not back in town after being away for 5-years, and she is now a single mom to her little girl. When these two cross paths the sparks fly. Sawyer is sweet, caring, and headstrong, and Dean is determined to convince her to give them a chance together, but he has his work cut out for him. Will Sawyer forgive Dean? This is a well written story which is an entertaining read, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

20 different authors some I have read before and some I have not! This Anthology is not one to be missed and the proceeds go to a wonderful charity. I enjoyed all of these stories and they all had wonderful writing. Each has their own take on their very own second chance romance and each delivers with the feels and warm fuzzies that by the time you are through you will be wishing for a second chance also! Do not worry this provides all that to satisfy that itch! I loved Miss Heather Laurens story Bourbon Backroads, It had wonderful characters and the premise was one I could relate to. Very good writing throughout for all the stories. I look forward to reading more from all of these authors!

Bourbon Backroads -
Dean became a single dad at 17 to a little boy, Phoenix. Shortly after that, Sawyer moved in nearby and became best friends with Dean. At the time they were falling in love, someone stopped them and she went off to college. Four years later, Sawyer is back and has a daughter of her own. Dean and Sawyer renew their relationship but some truths are hard to take, even now.
The characters are heartwarming and believable. The storyline has nice flow, with intense feelings and emotions, along with great backstories that give the characters depth. Loved the ending and the two kids. Well done.
