Reed Security #1-3

Reed Security Box 1

Rate this book
Sinner is the first book in the Reed Security Series. It is preceded by the series For The Love Of A Good Woman and it is recommended that the series be read in order, as characters from the first appear in the second.

Cara
Sexy. Charming. Intelligent. He's everything I could ever want in a man, but he would never go for a woman like me.
I'm broken, damaged after being held captive by a serial killer.
Panic attacks are the least of my worries. But I can't help but want more with him. So, I made him a deal. Now he's my therapy buddy and we have a friends-with-benefits relationship.
It's a win-win.
Except that I want so much more.

Sinner
From the moment I saw her, I wanted her.
From the moment I touched her, I knew she was mine.
Everyone thinks she's broken, but I see the fighter inside. We made a deal, but I'm going to have to break it because I want more than a few fun nights between the sheets.
I want it all.

Cap is the continuation of Sebastian and Maggie's story from the series For The Love Of A Good Woman and the second book in the Reed Security Series. The Reed Security Series should be read in order.

Sebastian
Stubborn. Fiery. Insanely beautiful.
That's my Maggie. There's no denying she's the woman I want, but getting her to believe that is nearly impossible.
Getting her to commit is even harder.
She wants her independence, but she can't see that she's pulling away with every job she takes. And the more she pulls away, the more I worry about taking that next step with her.
I have to find a way to make her see what we could have, or I'll lose her for good.

Maggie
I gave up everything to be with him.
I love him so much, but I can't put my life on hold for a man that won't offer me everything.
And I can't keep arguing with him every time I take a job. He wants me by his side, but only on his terms.
I've had enough. If he wants me, he's going to have to fight for me.

This is the third book in the Reed Security Series and should be read in order.

Cazzo
There was a time I would have pushed her up against the wall and had my way with her.
But now I can't even stand.
This wheelchair now acts as my legs.
I'm not half the man I used to be, so how could I ever be what she needs?
And when she needs a man to protect her, I'm left providing the housing while my teammates make sure she's safe.
Now she's seen me at my lowest, a man that can barely take care of himself.
I hate that she sees me like this, but I'll fight to walk again if it means that I can have her.
I will be the man she needs someday.

Vanessa
I'm running for my life, trying to stay out of the clutches of the cartels my father is trying to sell me off to.
I never imagined I would see him again.
I'm the reason he's in that wheelchair. He took a bullet protecting me.
Now he seems to hate me. He's angry, and rightfully so. He had a life before I ruined it.
So, he's hiding from the flame that still burns between us. We could have so much more, but he won't allow himself to even look at me unless he can prove he's the man I need.
He doesn't see that he already is. Luckily, I'm good at getting my way.

Before I start this review of the first three books in the author’s Reed Security system, I need to say a few things. First, although these books are intended to be able to be read as standalones, they’re really not. Which is why the author encourages you to read them in order. Also, it became quickly apparent that if like me you haven’t read her For the Love of a Good Woman series you’re going to feel like you’re at a party where everyone knows everyone else at the party except you. So many of the characters in this book have relationships and backstories from that previous series that I sort of felt like I’d come in to the middle of a movie. Lastly what brought me to reading this series was I had just finished the Cortell Brothers series where brother Derek Cortell is a secondary character (having already met his love in this series) as well as a few other characters from this series like Hunter and Knight who also met their loves in the second box set in the Reed Security series. This author has so many books including this 28 book Reed Security series that I know she must have some seriously devoted fans. Despite having now read nine of her books and about to read another three, I’m just not certain I’m among them? I think the fact that I know if they weren’t free on Kindle Unlimited I wouldn’t spend my money as well as my time on them says something. But so too does the fact I keep reading them. There are parts that are very good and there are other parts I found, not so much. Which is why I give most of this authors stories a 3 star rating which for me signifies I found them neither terrible nor great but moderately enjoyable.
Sinner
Sinner is the first book in the three book box set that starts the Reed Security series. Our female protagonist Cara was an extremely interesting character. Much of our story deals with Cara trying to overcome the effects of her being kidnapped and tortured for two weeks, six years ago at the hands of a psychopath. I assume this took place in the authors For the Love of a Good Woman series. Most likely her brother Sean’s book. After six years of seeing a therapist her social anxiety seems to be worsening preventing her from doing the most normal things we take for granted like going out in public to a grocery store or to a restaurant with friends. Mark Sinn or Sinner as his friends and co-workers at Reed Security call him, stumbles upon Cara in the middle of an anxiety attack in a restaurant and helps her out. One thing leads to another and he becomes both her fuck buddy (she hasn’t had sex in six years since her abduction) and therapy buddy helping her slowly ease into things like going out to eat and missionary position sex. Sinner a former Green Beret works for Reed Security. His boss is Sebastian Reed or Cap, short for Captain his former military rank when he commanded many of the men like Sinner who now work for him. There’s a lot of conflict between Mark and Sebastian because Mark befriended and helped Sebastian’s girlfriend Maggie or “Freckles” (a story and relationship also begun in the previous series in his book Sebastian and continued in Cap, the second book in this series) and Cap is very jealous and suspicious of their relationship. Also, Cara’s brother Sean a police detective is good friends with Sebastian and doesn’t want Mark a notorious ladies man anywhere around his sister so Sebastian tells Mark to stay away from her which creates another source of discord between the two men.
Here’s my big problem with this story. Like many first books in a series we’re introduced to a lot of secondary characters, some of whom who will become lead characters in future books. But my problem is that so many of these characters seem to have back stories from the previous series that I felt like I was starting this series somewhere in the middle. Yes, you can read this as a standalone but if you’re like me you’ll be annoyed by not knowing the stories of many of the secondary characters who play prominent roles in this book Then there’s a minor complaint. This book is just loaded with typos. I don’t normally complain about a few typos but there’s just so many in this book I don’t know how somebody didn’t got back and reedit it by now? I also thought this story as many of this authors books seem to do, ended rather abruptly. I’m assuming this won’t be the last we see of Cara and Sinn in this series but it just seemed like, “we’re living together and having lots of sex when we’re not working. The End.” It’s becoming apparent to me that to completely enjoy one of this authors books I have to be wiling to go back and read every book she’s published before it and after it.
Cap
Cap is the second book in this box set. It’s the continuing story of Cap or Sebastian Reed the majority partner of Reed Security and Maggie who is his girlfriend of two years. In Sinner I loved the Maggie character. She was spunky and a caring friend to Sinner. In this book by the time I was in the middle of the story I was almost hoping the author killed her off I disliked her character so much. In Sinner we’re told that Maggie and Cap are having relationship issues but we’re led to believe that for the most part they are Cap’s fault. Not too far into their story we discover that while Cap is guilty of being ridiculously jealous of Maggie’s relationship with Sinner, it’s Maggie that is the main problem in their relationship. Maggie acts impulsively rushing into danger without thinking, refusing to ask for help. She’s a loose cannon. And as Cap tells her despite having quit her job as an investigative reporter in Pittsburgh to live and work with him, she’s always acted like she had one foot out the door. After some time to think about it Maggie realizes he’s right. Maggie decides she needs some space to figure out why she can’t fully commit to their relationship and moves back to Pittsburgh to try and resume her career as a reporter. In a carry over story from Sinner, Reed Security is trying to protect Vanessa Adams the daughter of a billionaire who is in danger. Maggie had gone into Vanessa’s father’s building to try and find out what her father wasn’t telling about why people were after his daughter. In typical Maggie fashion she didn’t think to plan out her approach or ask for anyone’s help as back up. Cap and Sinner have to save her ass. But now the bad guys know she’s involved and that she’s Cap’s girlfriend. They could try to kidnap her to use her as leverage to get Cap to tell them where Vanessa was. So when Maggie leaves him he sends a security detail with her to protect her. There’s a lot of friction because the security detail is loyal to Cap and doesn’t think Maggie has treated him fairly. Maggie in turn resents having them following her around trying to tell her what to do. Then Maggie discovers she’s pregnant and here’s where I really start to dislike her character. Maggie’s reaction to her pregnancy was upsetting enough to me still I get how a baby really didn’t fit into her current life plans. But what really set me off against her was her lame excuse for why she’d rather kill the fetus than give birth to it and let Sebastian raise it leaving her free to live her life and pursue her career without having to care for it just made me lose my mind. Fortunately for my enjoyment of the story she’s worked her way back into my good graces by the end of the story. I mean, I’m a guy. How am I supposed to enjoy a story where I hate the female lead?
There was a side story about their friend Ryan trying to recover from the death of Cassie which would have meant a lot more if the author had even told us how Cassie died. This is just another example of how if you didn’t read her previous series and Ryan’s book, you’re left in the dark. It was a cute part of the story but Maggie’s grandparents imparting thier words of wisdom that solved the relationship problems that had been plaguing them for the entire story was pretty Hallmark Movie worthy hooky. I thought the ending was lot of fun but really, Maggie forgot it was her wedding day? What’s next, she’ll forget where she left the baby?
Cazzo
Cazzo is the third and final book in this box set. This story runs in parallel to the first two picking up at the point in the first story where Cazzo or Sam is shot protecting Vanessa as part of her security detail. Cazzo wakes up in an ICU hospital bed unable to feel his legs. A large part of the story is him dealing with the loss of the use of his legs and his emotional and physical struggles to regain use of them. When Vanessa is reintroduced to us in this story having learned her father plans to marry her off to some business associate to pay off a perceived debt he owes him Vanessa escapes his Manhattan house. The problem I have here is in the first book Sinner, Sinner while in LA. intercepts and helps Vanessa escape her father’s men. In this book he does the same but at least to me it seems as if Vanessa was still in New York City having run a short distance from her father’s home to a supposed friend’s apartment where the bad guys show up. There’s nothing about her traveling to California and the time from which she escapes her father to the time Sinner rescues her is reduced from weeks to hours. The whole California rescue and cross country drive with Sinner, Cara and Sean to Pennsylvania seems to have been wiped in this version of the story. I understand that Cazzo is struggling with his injury and possible permanent loss of the use of his legs and his issues of being embarrassed for Vanessa to see him in his current condition but I started getting pissed at him when no matter how kind and pleasant Vanessa was he still acted like a dick to her. But I loved Vanessa’s character. Until I didn’t. So much of this story is about protecting Vanessa but then just like with Knight getting to Maggie in Cap, her father’s guy literally waltzes right in under the noses of the security team to get his hands on Vanessa. After the threats to Vanessa were eliminated I totally got how she felt she needed some time to figure out her life now that she was free of her controlling father. But what disappointed me with her character was the way she went about it. To the author’s credit at least in this story we’re not left hanging wondering about Sam and Vanessa’s future. Unfortunately from what little we saw of Cara or Maggie when their books were done, I don’t hold much hope that we’ll be seeing much of Vanessa again in future books either. Unfortunate for me because as a guy I really enjoy the female characters but the author like many contemporary romance writers who write for a primarily female audience (check the covers, need I say more?)consider the female characters less important to include in future stories being nearly disposable. Cara hardly got mentioned after her book and had only one actual appearance. Maggie got the same treatment being mentioned briefly in the third book but never seen.

Sinner (Book 1)

Cara is trying to move forward with her life after experiencing something horrific. When she has a panic attack, Sinner steps in to help her. I just loved Sinner and Cara and watching their journey. A story filled with amazing characters, danger, and steam.

Cap (Book 2)

Cap (Sebastian) was fantastic and the continuation of his and Maggie’s story. I loved the push and pull between Cap and Maggie and they were perfect for each other. Their story is an emotional one with ups and downs, danger, suspense, and secrets.

Cazzo (Book 3)

This is the third book in the Reed Security Series and it’s incredible! Cazzo was injured while protecting Vanessa and when she’s in need of help again, he doesn’t feel he’s capable of protecting her. Vanessa and Cazzo’s chemistry is palpable. Their story is filled with drama, suspense, secrets, and chemistry. Highly recommend.

I had the opportunity to read these books individually and you are in for a treat having three in one!

Sinner (Book 1) - 4.5 stars
Cara is a woman who went through an abduction a few years ago and she is still dealing with anxiety and other issues that stem from the nightmare. In order to combat her problems, the recommendation is to go out alone to eat at a restaurant. However, all does not go according to plan as she winds up having a panic attack. Sinner, aka Mark, is no stranger to ptsd and helps Cara deal with her situation. As she leaves the restaurant, he follows her and winds up getting pepper sprayed. After Cara gets Sinner to Reed Security where he can get medical attention, he does everything he can to keep her there. From this incident, Sinner and Cara forge an interesting relationship. This is one well written storyline that highlights a challenging topic with well developed characters and weaves a web of love and family loyalty. I volunteered to read a copy of this book and purchased it.

Cap (Book 2) - 4.5 stars
This is the second book in the series and it is the conclusion of Sebastian and Maggie’s story. As I did not read the original book, Sebastian: A Mystery Romance For Love of a Good Woman book 5, I recommend reading it first and then reading Cap to see how these two developed into their relationship. When it comes to this storyline, Sebastian and Maggie are on two different pages and in order to protect her, Sebastian decides that they need to separate. This leaves them both miserable but once the deed is done, Sebastian’s challenge is how to make her see that she needs to return home. However, Maggie is harboring a secret that she is keeping from Sebastian. This is one ride that reminds one of sitting on the back of the bus and jumping high every time the bus hit a pot hole. It pulls out all the emotions one can feel when reading. This is another exciting read from the Reed Security Series. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

Cazzo (Book 3) - 4.6 stars
The third book in the Reed Security Series is another high octane read that you want to add to your tbr list. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the books in order. Cazzo was Vanessa’s protector when she first came to Reed Security but he was injured on her detail. When Vanessa is in need of protection again, she returns to the company but Cazzo is having mixed feelings about his ability to actually be able to protect Vanessa. These two are explosive together but will Cazzo’s feelings of insecurity be the thing that holds him back? Can these two forge a relationship together and survive the obstacles that are headed their way? This is one storyline filled with drama, suspense, secrets and pain. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

BOX SET 1
Sinner Book 1
Cara & Sinner

She's trying to heal from a horrific kidnapping and torture. Sinner steps in during a panic attack--the beginning of something--just not sure what. He earned his nickname, still, Cara draws him in a way no other woman has. While his teammates can't believe he has real feelings for her and she is connected to a friend, no one seems to support them.

There is a lot that happens to both of them both in the past and the future. The personal and professionals of both take a beating. Can they come out whole and together?

There is lots of steam, great characters, danger, and an abundance of fodder for future stories. I'm on to read
books

CAP BOOK 2
Sebastian & Maggie

I have to agree with other reviewers about reading Sebastian in the Series For the Love of a Good Woman, first. I only read part of it and am going back to read it in full.

As much as I love the book there were times I just wanted to shake Maggie--not that Cap didn't deserve
Once I realized these books are more than a Security story I was into it for sure. I started the series late and am not going back to read it from the start. I love it and the characters.

One bit of advice--DON'T TAKE ROMANCE ADVICE FROM ANY OF THOSE GUYS!

Cazzo Book 3
Cazzo & Vanessa

In a previous book, Cazzo was shot protecting Vanessa while handling her personal up close security. Would he walk again?

He was having a hard time with his rehab when he was assigned to watch for Vanessa again. Reed Security was hiding her from......you'll need to read to find out... He didn't want her to see him helpless. Nor could he forget the feelings that had started to develop between them. If it had been a bad idea before it was impossible now.

Both still wanted the other. Both still had huge issues. And they were in danger. Could the three men assigned to protect her save her from the most famous deadly assign known?

Emotions, loyalty, great characters, amazing world-building, plenty of steam, and a story you won't forget.
There is lots of steam, great characters, danger, and an abundance of fodder for future stories.
a smack or two either. Still, the book is filled with the wonderful, quirky, hot, guys and gals, a world of danger and humor, where you never know what is coming.

Whether you've read each individual book as they came out or you've been waiting on the boxset, this is a great collection of an epic series you'll want to have for your collection. It includes the first three books:
1. Sinner
Giulia Lagomarsino has brought her cast of characters from "For The Love Of A Good Woman" into her "Reed Security" with a few new additions, so we are already familiar with the setting and vibe of the types of friendship and environment they're coming from. Her unique ability to write a storyline encompassing relatable characters taking the twists and turns of a plot she has strategically folded throughout will pull you in. There's no way to read this without some kind of emotional response.

2. Cap
If you're reading this review, let me first advise you this is the second part of Sebastian and Maggie's story. Oh, you didn't know? Yeah, the first part titled "Sebastian" is book 5 of the "For The Love Of A Good Woman" series, so you'd do well to read it first to give you some background on this couple. It's well worth your time. Giulia Lagomarsino will take you on an emotional rollercoaster with this couple's tale. Not just through the storyline and plot (they definitely have a lot both individually and a couple to work through) but with their circle of friends as well. I'll admit to emotions running high while reading this one they're so relatable. Great book!

3. Cazzo
Have you been wondering what happened to Vanessa? Well, her father was going to sell her to the man he owed $15 million to. Yep, you heard me. And since Sam was hurt in the process of protecting her and is feeling less than himself, Cap steps in and forces the situation. This is a well-rounded, relatable tale with action, drama, suspense, and of course the sexual attraction that will keep you intrigued and spellbound throughout the entire book. Once again, Giulia Lagomarsino is able to pull emotions from her readers like a puppet master.

I know I could hardly wait for this one!!

This is a boxset that you need in your life.

This is one of the best series I've ever read and it's one that I keep coming back to.

Sinner:
Sinner and Cara start this explosive series off with some of their explosive chemistry. Cara is trying to get on with her life after being traumatized and Sinner wants to help her do just that. You see that Sinner more than lives up to his name, but there is definitely more to him than that.

Cap:
Cap and Maggie are that couple that is just amazing. She is a kickass reporter and he is the boss of Reed Security, what could go wrong? Well that's the thing. This takes us on a journey of what happens after their happy ever after in their first book. You see the ups and downs, the joys and challenges. Warning though, keep tissues handy.

Cazzo:
How do you get over the betrayal from someone you trusted the most? Vanessa is trying to figure that out, along with figuring out how to be safe. Cazzo is trying to figure out a new normal after events of the first book and he definitely isn't looking up his nickname. Here you see the challenges they face, while sharing some explosive chemistry. You see them overcome the things that life hits you with and you find yourself cheering them on while simultaneously wanting to slap them.

All in all these books are filled with Alpha males and Kickass females.

Sinner, Cap, and Cazzo

The first three books of a long series. I read "Irish" first because it was the first time I'd ever heard of this author. I enjoyed that story so much, I decided to start from the beginning of Reed Security.
I liked Sinner. He's so dirty, he's fun. He's the consummate horn dog that has no intention of getting into anything longer than a one-night stand. Until he meets damaged Cara in a painful meet cute. They embark on a very traumatic journey together that will bond them forever.
Cap is the boss at Reed Security. He's more serious and I just couldn't like his woman for the life if me. I got fed up with her crap and forced myself to finish the book.
Cazzo is military, security, badass all the way until he takes a bullet protecting someone. The fight back is a hard road. If it wasn't for the humor his teammates share as well as their camaraderie, this story would only be fair, also.
Despite aome colloquialisms I don't share, the need for better proofreading, the overuse of the word "now", and the writing getting bogged down at times to become boring, I still gave this threesome four stars. I'm going to give the second threesome a stab because they are in my Kindle Unlimited and hope they are more like " Irish."

A handy boxset to binge.

Sinner
This one had me conflicted at times as I wanted to shake the male main character more than once but with both of them going through so much both together and apart,  past and present , I found myself unable to look away.
I met these characters in OPS so it was nice seeing a different POV.
Will they finally be able to communicate to work things out? Definitely recommend reading to find out.

Cap
This was another story that conflicted me, but this time it was the female main character I wanted to shake.
I struggled to connect with her for most of the book.
I liked Cap, but he's no Cash.
Despite everything said above it was all worth it for that last chapter.

Cazzo
This was definitely my favourite of the 3.
Only slightly felt like shaking the male main character when he got in his moods, but he deserves to be cut some slack considering the obstacles he had to try overcome.
This book was a good reminder that no one is safe from battling mental health at one point or the other.
All touchy subjects were handled with care.
Glad the female main character has the Reed security men at her back.

Great set

I've really enjoyed how this author has grown in her writing. I've noticed she gets better with each book and I can honestly say I've enjoyed these characters so much. They are a terrific group of brothers. Used to working together , day in and day out to keep people safe. They started in the military and now work together in private security. There is nothing better than reading about friends who have each other's backs and then meeting the women who can bring these huge alphas to their knees.

Intense, Suspenseful & 🔥🔥🔥

These guys and gals are THE MOST interesting. The stories of their lives and their community are gripping. The intensity and graphic depiction of their attraction to each other make all these stories - 18+ Only.
The mysteries are top notch, the "who done it" factor was written really well. The no nonsense approach/attitude to the situations was a bit surprising - At first. Then you realize, it matches the level of danger that the characters face.
Thank you for your time, talent AND THE STORIES!

One of the best security series

Sinner and Cara tore my heart open. The story line was perfect. You've got to know a lot of characters. But man I could put them down.
Cap and Maggie. Lord, I started to hate Maggie. She redeemed herself somewhat. She's too headstrong.
Cazzo and Vanessa. Those two wow. You will cheer them on.
All three stories are connect by a big story and the couples have their own story

Badass protection that you never knew you needed

These guys are the best at what they do, but each of them has their cryptonite in the female form.
Their individual stories will have you in tears at times, at others they'll have you in stitches..... when you don't want to throttle them because of their stupidity. I stayed up all night reading... again. 5 stars are not enough
Now onto the next batch of stories, I just can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!

You need this box set to get you into the Reed Security Series!

Sinner is all kinds of delectable and lovable

Cap is, well he's Cap! Sebastian Reed, the owner of Reed Security and I want to be Maggie when I grow up!

Cazzo doesn't even know what his nickname actually means but you'll want to look it up!

Great series.

Fast paced action, danger and romance or bumpy road to true love for each lead in the books, could be read as stand alones but much better if read together in order cause each book bleeds over into the next.
Made me stay up way past bed time just to see what happened next.

Not a great starting place

There are a lot of holes in the backstories of all the supporting characters. I enjoyed the writing but it doesn't work to start with this series if you haven't read the previous series about the other couples. There is too much missing information and missing character development.

DNF at 60 pages…I hated the writing style, so I guess that’s a personal opinion.
The characters were cringey, not really any details in the book but a lot at the same time? Sinner is obnoxious and very arrogant seeming. Cara’s banter against Sinner just doesn’t match her scared and anxious persona, especially after just meeting him.

Fast, hot and funny

Throughly enjoyed these stories in Box one. Each man finds his soul mate and they test each other to the limits. I enjoyed these stories in references to the chick flicks and movies they watched and shared too. They were open to all actions and backed each other to the limits. Lots of fun 🥰

Not for the faint hearted

This set was a brilliant read. The stories are all interlinked with the main characters appearing in all three stories with a main story running through all three books. Each book has some moments that are very tense and may make you feel uncomfortable but life can be messy.

Backwards

I started a tad bit backwards. I read about the Cortell brothers and now I'm going back reading about the Reed Security guys. They deliver and I laugh so much I cry. Thank you for these characters they deliver the full experience!

Great reading

This is a first from this author for me and I was definitely not disappointed. These book are very well written and the story flows seamlessly. Each book is about one guy but they all feature throughout.

box 1 Reed Security

Absolutely love this series, smoking hot men, kick ass women, it pulls you in from page 1 and keeps you there. Suspense with laugh out loud humor. You definitely need to read this series.

OMG, I absolutely love Sinner (Mark) . The emotional rollercoaster had me glued to their story. Such strength from both of them brought me to tears 😭. Everyone needs to read this book. Thank you for your amazing and emotional writing.

Loved This

I enjoyed reading these books. I will have to find the books that came before to learn more about Sarah and Drew, Sean and Lillian and Maggie and Sebastian.
In the mean time I will be looking for the next set in this series. There is adventure, mystery, love and more.
