Trying to read just one chapter is like trying to eat just one chip . . .Best-selling author James Patterson raves, “All right, you probably missed out on the GameStop frenzy but don't miss Subversive Addiction. This is an extremely fast-paced thriller with a seriously memorable lead character, FBI Special Agent Ben Porter. Christopher Rosow is the real deal.”In Book Three of The Ben Porter FBI Special Agent Ben Porter creates a formidable, off-the-books team tasked to hunt down and capture America's most-wanted terror suspect. Venturing far beyond the borders of the United States in search of his target, Ben uncovers clues that lead him not only toward his prey, but also deep inside an insidious, international plot-one that targets every person who is connected on-line . . . including you."Strap in for another Rosow ride around hairpin curves at breakneck speed. Like False Assurances and Threat Bias, this fast-moving gem sucks you in early and never lets you go."- John Macleod, author of Justice HillThe Ben Porter Series has been optioned for film by Spyglass Media Group. Book One, False Assurances, is "a gripping suspense thriller with fast-paced storytelling and dynamic characters . . . Ben Porter is a whole new brand of 'hero' that will take audiences on a captivating ride."- Peter Oillataguerre, President of Production, Spyglass Media Group
When not writing, Christopher Rosow works in the design and construction space. And, when not working or writing, or enjoying time with his amazing family, he's probably found out on the water somewhere, sailing. He lives in Connecticut with his family, his dogs, and way too many boats.
This book was not as compelling as his first two. It took a long time to get to the level of excitement I expected. Will definitely try again with his next book, though. I like his style.
In building the elite teams to execute U.S. statecraft, and spycraft, Christopher Rosow joins you into their road show and the adventures are aggressive, rogue, prescient, and spirited, of course; led somewhat haphazardly by the lovable (former FBI Agent) Ben Porter, this time aboard a luxury yacht purloined from a Russian oligarch, Tony Petrikov.
The metaphor of an online chess match gives you an idea of the multiple moves this novel takes, and how you never quite can think ahead enough to keep your players safe. Readers might have to sublimate plausibility on occasion, but if this kind of disaster could happen in real-time, well then, someone might be able to hack into a Tesla® automobile and crash it into the Holland Tunnel?
With an uncanny ability to see into future events of global espionage, Rosow again in the third installment of this series, uses common events such as smartphone applications, double-agents, malware surveillance, hackers, multiple government agencies, and oh by the way, a world pandemic, with which to weave an astounding and fast-paced, globe-trotting thriller, in the same page-turning tradition that drew him to the attention of Rush Limbaugh. The talk-show host was one of the early adopters of the Ben Porter series and he would be proud of this one too!
The title: "Subversive Addiction" takes on a serious problem with the overuse and addictive qualities of “screens” and how multiple applications on our smartphones grab us and eventually produce “addictive” behavior in many users, especially young kids. Ben Porter is challenged by a Sisyphean task loop which takes him around the world on the high seas, an appealing route for the reader of this book; however, Rosow brings to light an argument that is hard to make: these devices could be a Trojan Horse! The dopamine rush given from special apps that capture our attention, like many examples of social media, present a destructive reality of addiction to many who use them.
Nevertheless, it looks like the Quadrant Procurement Group, Inc. and Ben Porter are teed up for another assignment under the tutelage of Genevieve Sullivan, the Under Sec.'y of State who has hired them for Book Four!
Another adventure with Ben Porter and Company. Ben Porter is a believable character, he has faults makes mistakes, repeats them sometimes and isn't some larger than life super good guy. The plot is also pretty good and as it unfolds actually quite terrifying and quite possible. Another good read with a in over his head Ben Porter. Good job Christopher.
Here comes the whole crew, Porter, Volkov, McAllister, Rourke and Lockwood They are setting out on the Almaz to catch the bad guys. Of course they need to get to South America and somehow get Volkov father out of the country first. Loads of leads to follow. I seem to be reading Rosow books backwards. Oh well!
This series just keeps getting better! Ben Porter is the realistic hero in the works this world needs. And while there is a bit of romance, the story stays true to its roots and leaves you excited for the next installment!
I have read 5 of the Ben Porter series. I love the characters, stories are fun. Rosco has quite a vocabulary, he provides a lot of details, which are real places. I am looking forward to the next book.
Wow. Thanking my brother for introducing me (us) to this series. The action, the character development, the technical information.... these stories are riveting! Will definitely read all in the series. Took longer to read this due to an out of town trip to see family...
A very good thriller. Kind of reminded me, at times, of the old Mission Impossible TV series. Ben Porter is an intriguing hero. One that I think most readers can identify with.
A good 3 book series with some current situations with intrigue and imagination. Not enough new authors, and the old reliable authors have gotten stale.
The beginning had a great action spot in the beginning then storyline slowed down because of a lot of back story, people whose who but action picks back up.
The book held my attention over the hours needed to read it through. I couldn’t put it down. While different, it reminds me a bit of Tom Clancy’s jack ryan books. Kudos!
I have read all 3 books in the Ben Porter series. I have so enjoyed each one. Thank you Mr. Rosow. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to book 4. I think I may had decoded the I.P address hint.
