"JA Low lives on a faraway beach in Australia. When she's not writing steamy scenes and admiring hot surfers, she's tending to her husband and two sons, and dreaming up the next epic romance."
Ah, here we have the last of the series for the Playboys of New York, and it has one of the funniest meet cutes I've seen in a while. Hahahaha. I'm still laughing about it. Poor Ariana. It worked out for her, right? I'm not big on divorce stories, but I will say this one was quite difference. Rhys' ex wasn't the typical crazy soon to be ex-wife. She was a completely different type of crazy, but it a more mystery type of way, not an annoying one. Gosh, I wish I could say more without giving the whole plot away because everything that I write about it sounds stupid. I liked it. Okay? There. Haha.
Rhys Davenport is going through one heck of a divorce. He caught his wife cheating on him with his best friend. Whoops. But his wife is also not dragging this divorce out into a huge, long, public event. To get away for a while, Rhys heads to London where he finds out that his true best friend left him a present: a beautiful woman awaits him at his flat, ready to complete the jigsaw puzzle. If only he knew what this encounter would bring: hot sex, confusion, anger, and...a new, steady girlfriend? Who would have thought?
Ariana Blanco connected with a guy online, so while she's in London, she decides to hook up with him. She even got access to his flat beforehand. And when he comes in? Oh, he's hot as hell. The sex is great...until he offers to pay? What the hell? Oh, Ariana is ticked. And when she sees him again in New York, well, he has an excuse, and it's pretty darned good. They had some crazy chemistry. Does Ariana want to explore something with Rhys? Especially when he has a high profile divorce? Besides, she needs to focus on work. She just quit her job to focus on her new business. Does she need a hot distraction with crazy ex problems?
Just like the other books in the series, I enjoyed this book, but I will have to say that the story died a bit after the first bit. It got slow, and I did get a bit bored. The book was good, don't get me wrong, and it was definitely worth the read. However, it wasn't my favorite of the bunch. Actually, it was probably my least favorite, mostly because of the pacing.
I'm glad this series is over. The epilogue pretty much wraps up the series for the next few years.
Less is more and this book proves that. Possible spoilers....
Let's take a basic relationship with an ex-wife drama that just won't go away. But that storyline isn't enough, let's throw in family drama with the dad and brother. Add in more wife drama. Still not enough drama? Let's throw in the mafia. Why not include both the Russian and Italian mafias?
JA Low's writing style is great. Lovable characters, interesting drama but then that is where stuff keeps getting added that makes it go crazy. I would easily give a 4 or even 5 star rating at around the 75%. Then it only goes down from there because you can just expect something to pop up at the end and the story wraps up closer to 95%.
OMG!! Absolutely love it!! I couldn’t put it down AMAZING. Now I can’t decide which Playboys of New York is my favorite.

So he decides to go talk to his father and brother directly about the situation and Stirling goes with him. Rhys gets right to the point and tells even shows them both pictures as evidence. They both tell him she came on to them that she drugged them in order to have sex with them. He also tells his dad he knows about his debt to the mafia and he wants to pay it off so his father gives him the account details. Rhys tells them both once he pays this off he wants nothing to do with either one of them, he tells them what they did was unforgivable. After Rhys and Stirling leave they go for a drink. Ariana is waiting at Rhys apartment for him to come home, just before she’s about to call his sister he stumbles out of the elevator. His mom tells Stanford to leave and ask why he would ever to that to his brother. Jackson calls with more information just before Noah and Chloe’s wedding. The mafia is paid and squared away, when he asked about Madison and her brother then showed a picture. Her name is Madlina Ivanov and it’s her husband in jail Michail Ivanov, not her brother. Both being good at extortion and blackmail, his brother is a hacker and gets into people accounts to get dirt on them. they got information on Rhys when he was New York’s most eligible bachelor. They want to shake him down and get paid enough for what they want maybe add a homes in the process. "Without Warning" Playboys of New York Book 5 by JA Low
**Spoiler Alert**
Rhys thought he found the one. The one woman who would spend all of eternity with him. The one who would hold and cherish his heart forever, but then deceit took a step forward, and it broke him.
Ariana hates her job. These men look down at her as though she is nothing more than a glorified tea girl. She takes pride in what she does, and one day, she will show them... show them all! Her friends are her true champions.
The chaos in his life surrounding the divorce is exhausting. He wants this ordeal over with, but secrets are revealed, and truths are told that will make your head spin.
A misunderstanding that could have been the final straw turns out to be the beginning of their forever.
Beautifully written with a duel POV. There is so much story to read. Filled with loads of angst, sadness, heartbreak, wild and unforgiving passion, and so much more. I want me a Rhys too...
I can see so many more books to come with the rest of the single characters. Audrey and Stirling, perhaps? There must be something wild there.

This one started out good but too much drama got crammed into the story. I would have liked fewer dramatic situations and more depth to the ones left in the storyline. With everything going on, I kept waiting for something interesting or exciting to happen but it all just fizzled out.
The ending felt rushed and one final chapter summed up everyone’s lives for years. The book was ok but not the best of the bunch for sure.
Loved this series!!! Definitely a must read! Well I started the first book and damn I was hooked in no time. I can’t believe how good this series was but make you you read it too and there are definitely more to read and crossovers in other books to what and can tell
I love how this book put pieces together that we didn't realize needed to be put together. I laughed a lot through the series but this book was great. Series of WTF events. Loved it.
What a great ending to this series. I loved Rhys and Ariana’s story because it was full of love, obstacles and surprises. I have always loved this author’s writing style and this book was no exception. This is a book I am so glad that I didn’t miss out on.
Ariana and Rhys had a rocky ride in the beginning of their relationship. Rhys had a messy divorce with a woman who turned out to be someone he never actually knew. I Love how J.A Low keeps all the characters in each book in the series so your up to date on them all.
1.5 stars Felt very elementary and the writing was a little immature. I also didn’t feel like the plot was delivered in an exciting way- it was kind of just “this happened, and then this happened.” Disappointed to see no character building either. I read the Merger which was relatively enjoyable so this was a surprise.
I'm glad this series circled back around to Rhys. This book moved pretty quickly. It has yet another character who has a cheating ex but the circumstances are a lot different this time. In fact, the circumstances make for a good mystery, which could have been beefed up to make for an even more interesting book.
The relationships between Rhys and his father and his brother were messed up. They were pretty horrible men. It is a little disappointing the last chapter doesn't mention what happens to them.
Arianna's architectural business takes off with a great start, which is of no surprise. We knew that from the previous book.
I really liked how Rhys was so sure of what he wanted and got frustrated when Arianna thought he was feeding her a line about being worried about her safety. I didn't agree with her behavior in that part of the book.
The last couple of books had less grammatical mistakes and I hoped the editing situation was finally getting fixed, but no, we're right back there with a ton of errors. There's one place where Rhys asks if he is in danger and Jackson tells him yes and then explains why he isn't and the rest of the page is set up to state he isn't. Quite sure the author meant no and not yes.
One thing I really didn't get was when this couple actually spent time together to fall in love. It seems like they had 3 encounters that lasted a few hours or less and that was enough for them to know they were it for each other. I'm all for instalove in romances but the characters need to actually talk to each other to fall in love. They didn't take that time in this book. Or, at least, it wasn't shown to us.
That's a huge problem with this series as a whole. The falling in love almost always happens outside of the main story lines. There are no details given on things that would make the books more interesting and more real. Everything is kept very vague. I usually end these books with a smile on my face, so, obviously, some things are going right. There is just so much that goes wrong that could make these books so much better. This author is very clearly going for quantity over quality and that is disappointing. There is no way she could write on this release schedule and flesh out the details like they need to be. That is such a shame because I feel like her fan following would explode if she were to rewrite these books with actual details. She basically fades to black with everything except the sex scenes.
I've been disappointed, too, with how long it has taken EJ and Noah to propose. Noah was supposed to propose in Balie but then Chloe was kidnapped (book 1). He doesn't propose again for a year and a half? That doesn't fit with his behavior the rest of the book. It also doesn't fit with EJ's behavior that he would wait so long to propose. The epilogues, well last chapters, in these books were too short. We want more information on their futures. And this one lists who has what kids and someone nicknames their child BJ. No one would nickname their child that. Well, no one except people too naive to think about what that is.
I want so badly to be a beta reader and correct all these errors. I want this author to learn that I is not an object even if another person is a second object in a sentence. I want to see this author stop and grow. In the long run, she would make more money.
Let’s get the warnings out of the way first. This is the final book in this Playboys of New York series and seriously you need to have read everything before this book for it to have the full impact… although, these characters are a little removed from the main friendship group as such, the other characters play an integral part in this story coming together.
This is one of those stories where I think you are constantly waiting for the hit. It feels like something big is about to happen, a little like what happened to pretty much all the other couples… but whilst there’s that constant undercurrent of deception from his ex-wife and his messy divorce, it kind of falls short of having that big impact. The threat of something happening never really reaches a satisfying conclusion.
Maybe it’s me and I’ve read so many of these angsty romance novels that I expect that big twist that puts everything in jeopardy. Sure, when everything gets laid out on the table about what his ex-wife did to him, it was clever and you feel that element of trepidation but then it just fizzles out and everything is great.
My reason for four stars and not five is for that reason. I love Ariana and Rhys together. They are hot as heck together and they truly deserve their happiness together… but this book feels rushed and it felt like the ending was cut short. All these revelations about his farce of a marriage and his ex-wife could have led to a much darker and sinister storyline, and I honestly thought that it was heading that way, but it didn’t and sadly I felt a little cheated. Let’s face it, you start mentioning ‘Mafia’ and you expect more. As I say, maybe it’s me… but I wanted more for Ariana and Rhys, because they are just such a great pairing.
I am sad this series has come to an end because I have felt like all these characters have become like my own friendship circle. I’m actually a bit jealous because I want to be their friend too. I guess that shows how good this author is at pulling you in to her world. I would also recommend reading her Dirty Texas and Paradise Club series because they are equally as awesome and if you liked this series you will definitely love them too.
I have no idea how Author JA Low comes up with her book plots for her Playboys of New York, but each of these have remained true to the sense of the series and in my mind, each has got better, with the twist in this one being my absolute favourite. It seems like one version of the truth might be uncovered, when there’s another veneer yet to be exposed. I just loved everything about this book.
While each of these Playboys can be read as stand-a-lones, the characters interact as secondary’s within each book, and it is Emma and Anderson who were our main recurrences here. Their book is another favourite, and I just loved seeing them again. Rhys is a new character, with his firm, The Davenport Group being Logan and Noah Stone’s main competitor. Holy crap on a cracker the chemistry between Rhys and Ariana was on FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
I have to say that their meeting was one of the most unconventional AND the hottest of the series, but it really summed up the circumstances surrounding their story. There are creepy unscrupulous people everywhere, and it doesn’t matter what level of intelligence anyone is, it’s going to be a sad day if everyone new in our lives is going to approached with severe mistrust and suspicion. We may never open ourselves up to new experiences ever again.
Once again, I hit this book in one single session, and I loved it. Ms Low manages to nail these efficient alpha males from their protective stance through to their dynamic business dealings and back again to the way that they lovingly and desirously handle their women. Notice I say handle, not manage. Because their women do not get managed in any way – they’re too strong for that! Another great book 5 Stars ༺💗༻
Well this book is definitely better than books two through four, I'm still not a huge fan of the character. Though she was slightly better in this book than the others.
The story with Rhys's ex was a bit over the top with her sleeping with everyone and their brother basically. And the fact that he ended up paying off his dad's debt was kind of dumb. How is he free from that now? They don't know that son dear will bail out dad. Though yes, he did wipe his hands of his dad and his brother. That was just a bit much too. Though I shouldn't be surprised because the girls and guys are mostly all hoes an man whores until they find "the one" and settle down. Which is always such a surprise to them. Overall the characters didn't feel like they had much range. They were all kind of similar to each other with some random different backstory that made them only slightly unique in my opinion. I saw there is a book for Rhys's sister and his best friend and how they got together. But honestly I don't really care for the author so I don't care how they got together. They went over in enough detail in this book how it happened that I don't feel inclined to read more crappy books to get the full story. 🤷🏼♀️ But to each their own. Hehe. Done with the series and done with the author and all the "yelling" and "screaming" they all do throughout the books. They're just all quite immature and childish for my taste.
Ultimately my favorite book out of the whole series, like when I decided to start this series, I was wanting to start the last one because I read the blurb and was obsessed but then the storyline would be confusing if I started at the end and wouldn't make sense. I loved how he was still hung up for her even after a month of being away and she was pissed which she had a right to be like you don't talk for a month then decide to send flowers and fuck it up all over again but it was cute and maddening at the same time like Rhys make up your damn mind. Is there a book about Elise and Jackson? Is there? Someone help me please I'm desperate for their story, and I can't wait to read Audrey and Stirling's story as well. In this book, Rhys and Ariana had a one-night stand and of course, there was some sort of connection between them, and they both wanted more, like go girls. He sends her flowers and food as well, like me too, I'm waiting for Rhys. He is such a sweet guy in public but a demon at night if you know what I mean. Like I want to hear their kids Ash, and Valencia's stories as well as all their friends' kids as well. Rate it a 5/5 and the smut was 4/5, which meant it was breathtaking and pussy throbbing.
Rhys walks in on his wife cheating on him with his best friend. Months later his divorce is going sideways and she is trying to take half of his company. He comes back to the states to deal with his divorce and his friend mentioned there is a surprise waiting for him in his house. When he gets there, there is a beautiful woman waiting for him. They have amazing chemistry and when he offers to tip her she freaks out. Ariana was waiting for Rhys that she met though a dating app and now he's trying to tip her like she is escort. When Rhys goes to meet up with his dad he runs into Ariana at his dads office and everything gets cleared up that someone was catfishing her and he was lucky to actually come home. What happens when chemistry flys? What happens when messy divorce messes with all parts of your life and goes further than you can imagine?
I loved Rhys and Ariana together. I also loved seeing Sterling and Audrey in this one and getting to see a bit of a different side of their story. I loved the plot twist that happened with Madison and Rhys divorce. I just loved he ending of this series and how everyone ended up living right next to one another in Connecticut. It was a fun way to close out this series.
Again… another story that was almost so good… until it wasn’t.
I must admit I LOVED Rhys and Arianna almost as much as I loved Anderson and Emma. In my opinion these are the two best couples. If “The Merger” didn’t have those blatant ableist remarks, it would’ve been a 5 ⭐️ and if “Without Warning” didn’t have Stanford’s family blaming him for his r*pe it would’ve also been really good. I’m not even going to give this book a rating because of the complete disregard of this plot point.
Stanford being an asshole is no excuse for people to not believe him or not help him after he talks about being dr*gged and r*ped by Rhys ex-wife. He said he wasn’t conscious half the time he and Madison were together and all Rhys did was yell at Stanford and his father who had admitted to the same thing. Not even Stanford’s mom or sister cared when Stanford talked about it. All they did was tell, cry and kick him out of the house. How was anyone okay with that?!
This series should’ve ended with the first book and I honestly don’t know why I kept reading… I kept hoping things would turn out better and this book was so close to ending the series on a hood note but here we are.
After the much awaited wait finally got Ariana's story and it was worth the wait. I was awestruck by the plot. It wasn't just a rollercoaster ride but more like hopping from one ride to another in an amusement park. Rhys has an intriguing personality since his appearance in Strictly Forbidden which developed even more after reading about him and made me fall in love with his character. There is so much mystery and drama that you cannot keep the book aside even for a minute. There are fireworks between Rhys and Ariana from the moment they meet each other. It's astounding to read their relationship grow... How they meet, how they get to know each other, understand, stand by each other... it's simply marvelous. A perfect ending to the story although I hoped for the book to never end and read more about the group. Hopefully they make appearances in the upcoming series. Absolutely loved the book and would recommend to read every single book in the series. Would re-read anytime.😁❤️
Without Warning is the fifth and final title in the Playboys of New York series featuring Rhys and Ariana. This title is an emotional romance, with drama, intrigue and mystery surrounding the pair. Ariana has been a frequent character in the previous books, and I was eager to read this flirty and fun characters story and it didn’t disappoint. Ariana is hardworking, strong and a loyal and caring friend. Rhys is a big-hearted hero who has endured more than his fair share of disloyalty and pain. He’s successful, driven and determined to go after what he wants. The banter is witty, fun and flirtatious, and the chemistry between this pair is undeniable, with love scenes that are hot and steamy. I was captivated from beginning to end and thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns this pair find themselves enduring on their path to a happy ever after.
I am so glad we finally got arianas book but i am so upset that it’s finished i really loved this series and all these characters.
I have to admit i absolutely loved the way these two met it was something i hadn’t read before and it made me laugh.
Arianas character through all the books shows how caring she is too her friends and that she cared about their happy ever after before her own, but as well i think she needed to see everyone fall in love to know she was ready.
Rhys well his life was all stuffed but you will have to read the book to find out, i really liked his character and how so many people betray him i really felt sorry for him and i am glad he found Ariana.
Loved this book again sad it’s all over but Ja Low did a fantastic job on this series. This book was fun, steamy, had a lj awesome story line it’s a series that you must read.
Oh my, I so enjoyed this book, well the whole series and it’s a bit sad that it’s ended but undoubtedly this author will gift us with new and exciting stories.
Ariana, the eternal flirt, deserved to find her happy ever after so much. She has been there for all of her friends, through thick and thin and honestly is an amazing character with her complete honesty, yet also very caring nature. Rhys is such a sweetheart and after his incredibly complicated personal drama deserved a wonderful woman like Ariana. What do you say about this man? Yum? Together they were ablaze with chemistry and their passion was supercharged.
The mystery for Rhys was ongoing and gradually as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place the extent was incredible. I found it mind boggling but so interesting to see how things would turn out.
Another very entertaining and enjoyable story by this author.
I was pleasantly surprised with this book series. I saw a TikTok video about the first book Off Limits and decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did.
All five books in the series are 4 or 5 star reads in my opinion. Some books in this series are a slow burn, while others start off with a bang. This one starts off with a bang!
This is the last book of the series and it follows Ariana and Rhys. Rhys is going through a contentious divorce after discovering his wife has been cheating on him with his best friend. He comes home one night to find Ariana in his home, thinking she is a present from his friend but it was really a catfish situation.
While Rhys is trying to get his divorce finalized, Ariana is trying to get her life together but through it all they fall in love.
I've been having a really fun time with the books in this series but I couldn't get into this one. I do have alot going on outside of my reading bubble that could play a part in it, but the storyline was also just a bit too out there for me.
Rhys and Ariana have fun chemistry but I think Rhys baggage is alot. Usually i enjoy the plot lines that are a bit out there but a cheating wife, mafia, cheating dad and brother too was just a bit much for me to take it.
The overall catch up of all the characters I loved. I was a little bit disappointed that all the characters eventually got the same ending, even where they resided but these books really more about the journey than the ending.
The storyline of Without Warning was still fun to follow and I loved seeing the progression of the previous characters storylines but overall it didn't hit the spot for me.

The series ended great. I liked Rhys and Ariana together. I thought Ariana was going to end up with the Irish guy from one of the other books that she was seeing for a hot minute. Rhys had it rough with his so called wife, dad and brother. They really tried to ruin him. His dad and brother were evil. The way Rhys and Ariana met was a surprise to both of them. They had a deep connection from that surprise meeting. Ariana finally came to her senses and realized she was missing him and wanted more with him. I like that Rhys was honest with her and did not leave her out with the things going on with his divorce. Once they declared they were together they were all in. I love all the friends and how close they all are.
