Danger Hudson has made a career out of doing things the hard way. The tabloids have nicknamed him the 'Bad Boy of Racing' and he proves them right at every turn.
Wild parties. Fast women. And even faster cars.
Until his manager finally slams the brakes and hatches an absurd plan to calm the press—pretend to be engaged to Monterey Grander, the drop-dead gorgeous daughter of the team's owner.
She's pretentious. She's high-class. And she's entirely too good for him.
But why can't Danger stop imagining a life with her?
When the past crashes into the present, will Danger be able to get everything he's been searching for? Or will the truth he's trying so desperately to hide come out and ruin them both.

What a ride! Danger is a sizzling hot, fast paced and emotional treat and I just can’t get enough. Logan Chance writes the sexiest men and the most kick-butt women. Danger and Monterey win best opposites attract couple of the year for 2021. Danger is damaged and running from the past. The only thing he is focused on is racing and women. Monterey is dedicated to helping her father’s racing team and making them champions. Danger is a menace who always seems to be in trouble, but there is no one faster behind the wheel. No one can predict what happens when they are forced to work together in order to clean up Danger’s mess. This is one of my most favorite books by Logan Chance. Buy it, read it, and you will love it!-
If you want an author whose writing you can faithfully trust, whose writing gets better with each new book, look no further, my reader friend. It may be a departure, being part of Bromberg's Driven world, but this beauty has all the hallmarks of a Chance romance, and I can’t get enough!
Danger Hudson likes to say he excels at two things: driving race cars and, well, the off-the-charts steam level will clue you in to the other. But beneath all his braggadocios swagger is a deeply troubled soul. The beauty of Danger, though, is that his brokenness and the demons that chase him only serve to make him burrow that much deeper into the reader's heart. You'll want desperately to wrap your arms around this troubled man with the cocky grin and take away his turmoil and pain. Fortunately, he has Monterey Grander for that.
It starts off innocently enough. Danger has gotten himself into trouble one too many times with his bad-boy behavior. Now the owner of his racing team, Monterey's father, thinks Danger might be redeemed in the public eye if he and Monterey, the heir to the racing empire, are engaged. But it's not long before fake begins to feel all too real, and they’re both in danger of a collision of the heart.
If you’ve enjoyed any of the books in the driven series, or if you’re a sports romance fan, you'll fall nose over toes for this one! It's witty and self-deprecating, full of delicious chemistry, and with a heartfelt poignance that will squeeze your heart in the best of ways and leave it with that happy, satisfied sigh we all await at the end of a fantastic read. These are two characters I wish had an entire series. Their banter is clever, they’re perfect together, and they twisted me up in a jumble of emotions on this exquisite, intoxicating, breath-taking trip. Run to the 1-Click, then buckle up and hold on tight for this exhilarating, enthralling, extraordinary ride!
Danger has gotten himself into trouble one too many times when the head of his racing team decides something needs to be done to control all the negative press. His solution? A fake engagement to his daughter, Monterey. The too classy, too good for him woman who, under any other circumstances, he would love to take to his bed. If he wants to keep his position on the team, though, he will keep his hands (and his lips) to himself.
Monterey knows better than to get involved with another bad boy, especially a racer, but if she wants to prove to her dad that she's the one to take over running their team when retires, then she has to do whatever it takes. A little fake engagement with the man who looks like (and acts like) sin incarnate will just have to be a stepping stone for her on her way up to the top. No touching allowed though because she knows her body will not cooperate with her on this...
Damn, Danger and Monterey are smokin' hot! His damaged soul just yearning for someone to calm his inner demons, her steadfast, rock solid will complemented each other and they fit seamlessly with each other. Though they started off as a fake engagement, it was obvious from their first on page meeting that there was something positively electric in the air surrounding them. Logan writes some of the hottest heroes, usually damaged and broody like Danger, and some of the best heroines with huge hearts and sassy, strong personalities who bring their men to their knees, and I feel like Monterey and Danger just may be one of his best couples to date. Danger not only is signature Logan with searing intense chemistry and a strong storyline, but it is a very worthy addition to K. Bromberg's Driven World.
Logan Chance enters K. Bromberg's racing world in this exciting new story.
Danger is an arrogant, full of himself racer who loves fast cars and fast women, there is no order to his preference. A few too many times getting into trouble with the law, has the owner of the team come up with a solution: fake a engagement to his daughter to act like he's more settled down.
Monterey, the owner's daughter is only willing yo go along with the ruse to prove to her father that she's ready to take over his company. If she can handle a hot head like Danger, then the company should be a piece of cake.
Where's there's smoke, there's fire. These two are smoldering from day one. When they get together, their passion burns and doesn't stop.
Along the way there are vulnerabilities to be shared and secrets that Danger is hiding and is afraid to have uncovered.
The book is the best of two worlds I love reading about, the thrill of Bromberg's series and characters, as well as Logan's great character development and plot twists. I really "RACE" this book.
Buckle Up and Hold On, Danger and Excitement at Every Turn

Is it crazy to fall for a Danger a dirty talking car racer? Danger Hudson has to clean up his bad boy image, and is set up with Monterey Granger. Monterey Granger is the daughter of the team owner. Will they pull it off this fake relationship to fans and reporters? Or will they find themselves falling for each other? The chemistry between Danger and Monterey is off the charts. I enjoyed this book so much I read it twice. This is now one of my favorite books. Danger, The Driven World checks all my boxes for a 5 star read. The reasons I enjoyed this book; entertaining, funny, page-turner, romantic, and wonderful characters.
Danger by Logan Chance was one huge thrill ride. When I dive into one of Logan's books what to expect and that is one of my favorite things about his writing. He grabs your attention from the very first paragraph and you are on the best kind of reading ride. Danger is nothing short of that.
You meet bad boy, Indy race car driver Danger. He is wild, carefree, and is popular with the ladies. His crazy ways tend to land him in trouble too often and he needs to cool it to keep his image up for the company he races for.
Enter the owner he races for daughter, Monterey.
Danger and Monterey are suppose to be fake engaged in the public eye. It all seems great other then they don't really get along. Monterey is feisty, independent, business and gorgeous. She definitely doesn't let Danger walk all over her.
With Danger comes a past and walls built up around him that no one can crack. Will Monterey be the one to break the walls and slow his crazy, speed racing life down? Or is it just.... Fake. Fine out what happens in this thrilling, hot and emotional 5 star read!

Cocky, arrogant, Danger Hudson, one of the best racing car drivers in the country, is participating in an illegal street race so that he can get a piece of information. Just as he stuffs the paper in his pocket the cops come and drag him off to jail. And who comes to bail him out but the team owner’s daughter, Monterey Grander. To try to calm his bad boy image for the public, Luther Grander, Monterey’s father and Danger’s boss, comes up with the idea that Monterey and Danger should be engaged during the remainder of this race. Danger says they don’t fit; Monterey wants to make sure there will be no cheating on his part; so they come to terms and a fake relationship begins. As the pages turn, Monterey is slowly falling for the bad boy, but Danger has issues; he has demons, that is why he likes the speed, it calms, him and he soon finds that being with Monterey is starting to still those fears too. We watch as Danger spins in and out of situations and Monterey is there to try to keep him on the straight and narrow. But can she do it? Can she change this bad boy’s image and heal those wounds?
I think this is Logan Chance’s best book to date. It gives the reader a bit of everything: suspense, romance, humour, and that hotness that he is known for. I love the way this author uses his characters to tell the story in their own tone of voice; Monterey, soft and honest; Danger, gruff and haughty. Logan eloquently expresses himself when he illustrates his scenes with his picturesque words: how Danger describes Monterey and her clothing; how the author paints the beauty of the ballroom at Caesar’s Palace, how his stylish words play up the dinginess of the all-wood bar in the sleazy hotel. There are many funny situations in this book, good, clever dialogue, and some great one-liners; witty words that enliven the story and tease the reader.
This book is like a jigsaw puzzle—pieces coming together slowly, thinking you have the right one in your hand, and it doesn’t fit. So is this book. Just when you think you have everything figured out, there is a twist and the piece doesn’t fit. Logan’s casual style of writing puts me in mind of a storyteller who can smoothly and flawlessly tell a tale that excites and mesmerizes us and keeps us coming back for more. Well done Logan Chance!
Logan never disappoints and this book has everything you need to disappear into his world! I’m not much of a fan of racing and while there are moments of racing, you feel the adrenaline reading those moments.
Danger seemed different than I originally thought he would be and by the end surprisingly WAY different!! He keeps you guessing about himself through the whole way!! The heat between him and Monterey was extremely hot! Just in those earlier moments had me squeezing my own thighs together for some relief! I couldn’t get enough of these two and the intense banter!!
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this considering I haven’t read a racing book but it’s nothing like I imagined. So incredibly easy to follow with MANY intense parts!! So many sexy parts but also so many unknowns! Unknown of the true Danger himself, of what the future holds for Monterey, for several other people in this story and while I absolutely couldn’t put this down I’m going to tell you that you should definitely read this book! I love so much angst and intensity and needed this book in my life!
(audiobook) I wasn’t completely convinced. I seriously enjoyed Danger’s backstory, but I didn’t feel it connected with the character as he was defined. I mean, it doesn’t really explain neither his passion for car races, nor his love for danger, not even his playboy ways. I’m not sure that kind of trauma–and yes, it was huge trauma–would push someone into being like Danger. And the big revelation about Danger’s past had little to do with the car racing world the story is set in.
He wasn’t a bad character either. He had his moments, and his relationship with Monterey could be cute at times. But he didn’t make sense as it was. Monterey was more consistent, but I felt there wasn’t a lot to define her. She’s ambitious, and to reach her goals, she’s ready to follow her father’s schemes; and she has one thing in common with Danger that she uses to relate to him, and that’s pretty much it. I forgot her broken heart, which is another element that isn’t explored deeply when there was so much potential.
They had some chemistry going on as a couple, and that made for sexy scenes. Not a lot, but there’s clearly a strong attraction between Monterey and Danger.
There was also a tiny theme, about celebrity and the pressure of media and fans. Be it good or bad expectations, Danger feels it and it impacts the way he acts. It’s also at the core of the whole premise: a fake relationship to show another side of the reckless driver.
The audiobook was just okay. The narrators did a good job, though sometimes they lacked the energy needed to keep me focused on the story. And there was a big blunder right at the beginning, showing the audio wasn’t edited properly.
Quickie
- Series: standalone (but part of the Driven world) - Hashtags: #sports romance #cars #fake relationship - Triggers: mention of past domestic abuse, quite graphic depictions of violence and murder, car accident - Main couple: Monterey Grander & Danger Hudson - Hotness: 4/5 - Romance: 3/5 - + Danger’s past was an interesting touch - – so many good ideas that weren’t treated to their full potential…
Another awesome addition to the Driven World Community. I have read Mr. Chance’s books from the time he hit the shelves and his works just keeps improving. In my humble opinion he is evolving into one of the best. He’s definitely one of my go to authors (I love re-reading his works). With Danger he has taken a lot of his finer qualities as a writer and put them into one great storyline. The book has laughs, suspense, romance, hot nights (and days) and most of all it has meaning. A young man who thinks he’s worthless learns he’s so much more. But trust me it’s not an easy road and one not guaranteed to meet all his hidden desires. But with the help of loyal friends and a woman you just might not give up on him, Danger Hudson just might find his place in a fast paced loved world.
I highly recommend grabbing up Danger and enjoying the ride-along. You won’t regret it.
I wish I could rate this book more than 5 stars. It deserves more. Logan takes you on the ride of your life. This is by far one of the best reads I've read so far this year. Danger lives for a fast pased life. He's a formula 3 driver and is a bad boy. He lives by is own rules without fear and consequences. He's hiding his valuablity by living recklessly. Once he meets monterey its game on. Monterey is the daughter of the f3 team Danger drives for. They end up having a fake engagement to keep the press at bay. This was truly one amazing read. Can't wait to read what logan writes next
In the world of Indy car racing, Danger stands out, both for his skill driving race cars and for his exploits off the track. Getting on a professional racing team is like a dream and a chance to make a lot of money; but when he is arrested for street racing, the team owner decides a change is needed and suddenly Danger must pretend to be engaged to the owner’s daughter, Monterey Grander. Danger came from a rough childhood, wrong side of the track type life; Monterey is the type of woman Danger could never have. Monterey is still feeling raw from her very public break up with another driver. She is not happy to be tied to Danger, but he is intent on treating her as a high-class lady and to get her self-confidence back.
I loved this couple; on the surface they were complete opposites but Danger felt like he didn’t deserve to be with Monterey. Monterey suffered from the public backlash against her when she broke up with another driver after finding him with other women, for some reason she was seen as the one at fault. So, both have wounds and the question is whether they can heal each other.
This book felt different from Logan’s previous books, very intense, very emotional. It was great and I hope to see more books like this .
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.
Friggin Amazing. Totally Top 10 of the Year! The story of Danger and Monterey was one which will grab you tight and hold onto you until the last word is read. You fall in love with street racing, sex with legs, amazing Danger in this addition to the Driven World. Danger coming so far looking for a piece of his past, meets Monterey whom is the daughter of Dangers' employer. Monterey is working towards accomplishing her dream goals, by any means necessary.
Let's just say, I could not stop reading this story until I finished the last word. Logan is his usual way, got me hooked and I was a total sinker. I laughed, cried and just fell in love with every single aspect of this story. I loved being reunited for a moment with my Colton and Riley! The way that unfolded had me covering my eyes, going in my tiktok voice, "Boy don't do it". Danger was a complete badass. Let's just put that out there.
Amazing writing as usual Logan, but this time you took me somewhere different and I loved it. This is a don't think twice about it, one-clicker!
'Danger Hudson walks a very thin line between what's legal and illegal'
What do I say without giving too many things away?? As the blurb states, 'Danger' Hudson is the latest ' Bad Boy' to hit the Indy Race Car scene and at 24 he's hot headed, often reckless off and on the track, yet there is some mystery regarding his background, things he's kept secret from those around him. Monterey, daughter of the team owner, with hopes of taking over from her Dad , has been burned before by another driver, so the thought of having a 'fake relationship/engagement' with Danger is not the ideal situation....but the attraction between them is obvious and eventually lines are crossed.
I don't want to say much more as to all that unfolds, for me, it was well written, DUAL POV's, H.O.T scenes, with an element of mystery, and some emotional moments, a sweet Epilogue, that I couldn't put it down.... I LOVED IT!!!
REVIEWING FOR ROCK HARD ROMANCE by Vicki RHR RATING 5*/5
I have loved everything I have read by Logan and I think this just moved to the top of the list!! Danger is a race car driver that is running from his past. Monterey is the daughter of the owner of racing team Danger belongs to. He keeps getting in more and more trouble so a plan is devised to make them seem like an engaged couple to help his image. They go through the motions on the last 10 races of the year...but are they really just going through the motions or is it turning into something real? When his secret comes out, will he be strong enough to believe in Monterey’s love?
Logan does an incredible job of weaving a story that keeps you spellbound and wanting to know more! You cannot put this book down once you start it because you want to know his secret. And when it comes out, you can’t believe it and want to wrap Danger up in your arms and hold him tight! Another amazing story from Logan!!
This is a perfect addition to this awesome series and is Danger and Monterey’s journey. Danger is damaged by his past, and his racing career has been marred by his bad boy reputation, and when he ventured a tad to far the team’s owner comes up with a solution, which is a fake engagement to his daughter Monterey, so he can get a chance to redeem himself. When the past comes back to haunt Danger, and the fake engagement is not feeling so fake anymore, will they be able to survive together? This is a well written storyline which is emotionally charged, and with witty banter, which all leads to an entertaining, heartfelt, and poignant love story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
First and foremost, I stumbled upon Logan Chance as an author when he was being introduced as one of the writers in K. Bromberg's Driven World. I have read a handful of his books now. I fell in love with the Driven World because of K. Bromberg and well now I love it even more because of Logan's book Danger. I love Monterey and her sassiness, her independence, and her big heart. Danger, the epitome of lust. What is it about a bad boy, a guy full of himself, one who is damaged, running from his past that makes a woman want him, want to tame him, want to care for him and make him realize he is worth it? Danger is swoon worthy, a man who knows how you need to treat a woman, and one who will make your heart race faster for him. You will not want to miss this race. Get to the track, start your engines, and put your whole heart in this race don't settle for anything less than 1st place. Because Danger-he's definitely a prize I want to win.
What a page turning non stop thrill ride we’re taken on with Danger and Monterey. This story is filled to the brim with action, adventure and lust page after page. Danger is a man that has the racing community in the palm of his hands. Monterey is a woman that has passion for racing too along with a strong head on her shoulders they’re unstoppable. Throughout the story I’m curious as to what has happened in Dangers past, he gives us breadcrumbs from time to time until all is revealed. Witnessing Monterey lower her walls a bit at a time has me cheering to keep going in that direction and never stop moving forward. This author has a way with creating a storyline that is strong and has us readers connecting to each main character. A story that I can see myself reading multiple times and not getting tired of.
This book takes you from zero to sixty from the first word to the last! Passion, steam and danger lies within these covers. I love a bad boy and Danger has my head spinning and my heart pounding!
He is a cocky arrogant bastard who can drive like hell. He is dangerous and bad on and off track. At least that’s what he lets everyone see. She is the daughter of his boss, the owner of his racing team. Gorgeous and sophisticated. As Danger is getting into bad press and problems for acting out (illegal street racing, drugs and partying) his boss thinks them playing in love might get him off the bad press and jail.....
I could barely put it down. The tension between both of them is unbelievable strong I could feel it. It’s a hot, captivating, surprising and great read.
It shows how strong love can be and what you can achieve believing in it.
Danger is Logan Chance’s contribution to K. Bromberg’s Driven World. I know whenever I pick up one of his books, whether is troupe is sports romance, rom-Com or in this case suspense romance, I am going to get a dirty talking alpha and love him to pieces.
Danger (Dylan) is an up and coming Indy race car driver, one of the best out there. After being picked up again for an illegal street race in LA, the owner proposes a way for them to turn around his bad boy image. Fake engagement to his daughter, Monterey.
Monterey reluctantly agrees with stipulations and rules. But, you know what they say about rules when it comes to bad boys.
As they road trip across the country together, they try to hold each other at an arms length. Danger because of a secret in his past and Monterey from a bad breakup. Danger slowly lets Monterey in, but just enough to protect his secret. He’s determined to bring down all her walls and she wants to be the person he can turn to.
But, secrets have a way of coming out. And, Danger is too afraid Monterey and the world just won’t understand him once his does.
Danger is the bad boy, dare devil with a dirty mouth and the moves to back it up. Monterey is independent, smart, beautiful and just the woman to tame him. This book is so well written. Literally, had me turning the pages and unable to stop reading. I had to KNOW all the answers. The chemistry and heat burn up the pages **fans self** And had me wanting more.
Pop that champagne!!! Logan Chance crosses the finish line with this book, a checkered flag winner!!! DANGER is panty-dropping HOT!!! A wild ride with lots of bumping and grinding that left me with the best adrenaline rush! I absolutely loved falling for a HOT Bad Boy race car driver who can talk f*ckn dirty and Ooooo my gah, his mouth is Danger. That is exactly what it’s like!!! This bad boy crashes into Monterey, my best girl who is a classy high heeled KICKASS running high on octane!!! Their relationship is so intense-both broken and have hidden secrets but yet, they help each other heal. The sexual chemistry is undeniable towards each other and when they collide, it’s SMOKIN HOT combustion!!! This book causes spontaneous melting! You will be seduced by every line of this story. It is EVERYTHING. Buckle up...you’ll want to read this FIVE RACING STARS VICTORY! Get it now!!!
wow, what an emotional trip this book takes you on! Danger has been through so much in his life and keeps pushing on. Monterey is a great match for him with her no nonsense style and positivity. great read.
If you stumbled upon this author because of this contribution to the Driven World, it is a great introduction to his work. And get ready because you'll want to continue reading the rest of his books. Logan's way of telling his stories always allow me to paint a vivid picture of what is happening. In this book, the racing scenes (at least one in particular) had me at the edge of my seat and with palpitations. It's a great story of survival with a very interesting and passionate love story in between.

Loved Monterey and Danger’s story. Danger is the bad boy who falls into racing to outrun his past. Using it to also find a missing piece of that past. Monterey and her father own Grander racing. Danger has a promising future at Grander Racing. Monterey and Danger find themselves thrown together and instantly feel a chemistry. I loved that Danger immediately saw Monterey differently. And, of course, He thought he could never be what she needed or deserved. Monterey fell quickly for Danger and was determined to be what he needed even if she didn’t realize she was. She’s unknowingly a calming force for Danger. This story has a little tragedy, a little humor, great chemistry and some seriously hot sexy times.
