Fee wil zich volvreten en liefst zo snel mogelijk. Geen betere plek dan de stad om te slagen in haar plan. Ze laat er zich op sleeptouw nemen door een gids op vier poten, een jonge ober, de eenzame Herman, de stille visser Pim en zijn bijdehante zus Celine. Maar nog het meeste steun vindt Fee bij haar moeder die, al is ze dan dood, haar toch blijft waarschuwen voor de gevaren van de grote stad.

Maar wanneer Fee weer eens blind en doof is geweest voor die waarschuwingen en bovendien tot de verkeerde Jezus heeft gebeden, blijft haar moeder weg. Hét moment voor Fee om te vertellen wat er voor gezorgd heeft dat ze uitgerekend hen, die ze het liefste heeft, een lesje wil leren: haar vader en zijn Li Jun fucking Chan, haar hartsvriendin Pie (en dan vooral hatelijke Hadewijch!) en haar eigen Hendrik.

Én waarom ze nooit of nooit meer dun wil zijn.

Honestly wenn ich könnte, würde ich null Sterne geben. Abgesehen davon, dass der Autor absolut keine Ahnung von Essstöung hat, ist das Buch unsagbar racist.💀

Fee hat ihre Mutter an Bulimie verloren und ihr Vater zeigt keinerlei Interesse. Ihre beste Freundin hat sie abgeschrieben und ihr Freund liebt sie nicht so wie sie ist. Das sagt sie. Deshalb läuft sie von zu Hause weg.
Sie ißt sehr viel und kauft sich wirklich sehr viel zu essen,da sie unbedingt zunehmen möchte und es so ihrem Vater heimzahlen möchte. Sie begegnet auf der Reise vielen Menschen die leider nicht nut gutes von ihr wollen. Bis sie auf Celine trifft,die einen großen Wendepunkte in Fee's Leben bringt.

Mich hat das Buch positiv überrascht. Ich mein ich fand die Leseprobe ja schon sehr gut. Aber das das Buch zum Ende hin noch so einen Wendepunkt hat,hätte ich nie erwartet. Man konnte mit Fee das ganze Buch über mitfühlen,wie es ist unter Druck zu stehen und allein zu sein. Ich finde es bewundernswert wie sie es geschafft hat sich die Tage alleine durchzuschlagen in der Stadt.

Das Cover des Buchs finde ich auch sehr passend. Die Katze steht für die Wiederauferstehung was eins der Themen in dem Buch war. Sehr gut getroffen!

Ich denke ich werde noch andere Bücher des Autors lesen,denn dieses hat mich wirklich sehr stark beeindruckt. Eine wahre Überraschung!

This book stinks. I was about 10 when I read this and I could already tell the author did little to no research on eating disorders. If you want to spread misinformation about bulimia, I definitely recommend sharing this book with your friends and family.

Het boek leest heel vlot. In een halve dag was hij uit. Het verhaal zelf vond ik wat overdreven. Het gaat over een meid van 16 a 18j, maar die zich gedraagt als een kind van 10. Ik weet niet of ik dit boek iemand zou aanraden

at the beginning of this book I wasn't a very big fan. I don't usually read books with this kind of theme and genre and the fact that I had to read it for school didn't help very much to get my spirit up. throughout the first half of the book I thought it was okay but I wasn't all that interested, not because it is a bad book (it isn't) just because of my own attitude ;) however during the second part my attitude decided to leave and actually let me enjoy this book. it's a very deep book that raises questions which are answered in an enjoyable way. I turned out to really enjoy this book and I reccomend it to people who can take the subject of a teenage girl doing something like that to herself. if you want to find out what she did you'll have to read the book! :)

I am very happy that I came across this book by chance. I did not expect the ending, as well as this big plot twist. The cover fits really well too! I look back fondly on this book and I particularly come to love this special writing style. I will definitely read more works by this author. 💌
