I feel like stopping with the first book would have been the best move for me and this series.
The second book has some strange microaggressions that feel out of place from the first book. The plot was just meh.
Also I have some big confusion on if she was referencing a college outside Charlotte and if so the entire premise doesn't work. We don't get snow like that

Spice Overload
This was a magnificent example of “why need plot when presented with SPICEEE” I love a solid sex-focused book now and again and this was right up my alley.
Reverse harem with four athletes and a studious college girl who all get trapped in a library together. I’m sure you can guess how they pass the time…

Pretty mehhh. The 5 of them go from "I vaguely know you" to having unprotected back to back group sex in like 5 minutes. If you're reading this one, make sure to turn some or most of your brain cells off. It's basically just a hot read. Enjoy!

A contemporary RH school romance book where bullying is implied but not much book time is given over to it at least not in this book its not. Its more about the relationship between Jamie and the guys - Dex, Cody, Darren and Taylor. All five of which get snowed into the campus library and they give into their attraction. With a very steamy night which turns into more. Sweet guys, a FMC you cant help but like, plenty of steamy scenarios and a story i got through quickly. Its a good read all round

A Quick Fun and Steamy Read!
4.5 stars!
Maybe it was because I sensed it. The growing feeling of something happening between us.
If you’re a reader and you’re looking for a huge world building, full of plot, kind of book, then this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for something fun, something HOT that’s literally full of steam from the start, and little plot but still really nicely developed, then this IS IT.
Break Volume 1 is completed with the first two books of the Break series: Study Break and Tough Break. And while it’s not like the rest of Lucy Smoke’s books, the ones that are filled full of world building and twists and everything in between, it still has that natural build to the story and all the characters together. Break is a RH series, with 4 guys and 1 girl. And while this is a quick fast burn, you still get a good feel for all the characters and their bond that they all have with one another and with Jamie. It’s full of wit and banter, so it adds in that perfect amount of humor along with it. Oh, and some are even football players, hello.
While s*x is a huge part of this series, we still get small bits of everything in between. And that’s one of my favorite things about Lucy, nothing goes untouched.
Break Volume 1 is a great read, and I can’t wait till the other two books.

This is a great contemporary college reverse harem series! It's a very steamy fast burn with all the dirty deliciousness (group scenes, public sex, DP, and mild BDSM). Jamie finds herself in a one-night-only fling that turns into much much more. Her four guys (Dex, Darren, Cody, and Taylor) are all yummy football athletes and will have your kindle and panties melting! I've read the originals and really enjoyed this extended version, especially the epilogues from the guys POVs.

Jamie's a college student. The night before her final exam she finds herself stuck in the library with four of the hottest guys on campus, guys whom Jamie cannot help but be attracted too. When the power goes out, and the guys decide to play a game, Jamie realises that she's not the only one attracted to them. They all want her too. So they start a night of passion that turns into a relationship with their high and lows.
It's been a while since I last read a college RH romance, so I was glad to come across this book. I liked the story and guys' personalities, but I felt like a lot of the scenes and events were rushed.

Well this was a very mixed bag!! There were some moments I really really liked it ans others were a bit of a snooze fest.
I actually really liked Jamie at the beginning of the book but as the story went on she became more irritating.
I still feel like several moments and questions were left unanswered. Hopefully you find out in the next volume!

Holy Heck. This book gets filthy😉 I loved it! But I was looking over my shoulder while reading making sure none of my coworkers saw all the dirty words! That would of been an interesting conversation 🤣
ANYWAY, this was a quick fun and VERY STEAMY read! This is one of those books where you need to take your time reading and are definitely going to need a cold shower afterwards because hot dang 💦!!

Umm yeah, not gonna lie you are going to need a cigarette or a cold shower when you finish this book! 😏🤣. If you are looking for a sweet, fade to black, extensive plot based story then this is NOT for you. This is actually one of Lucy’s earlier works that she has revamped and added a bit here and there.
This is a sexy fantasy extreme reverse harem book. I’m adding fantasy, because I really just don’t know how it could actually happen, not because there are fantastical creatures. 😉
All of the above being said, for what it is this is a solid book, there is an incredible amount of graphic scenes, not really negative or violent but it does have a chance of triggering some people, and turning on others. I took a chance on this book because I’ve read other books by Lucy Smoke and enjoyed them, I liked this one, it was a fun way to spend a Friday night!

This is the beginning of the series and consist of two novellas, Study Break and Tough Break. With all novellas, it is fast paced and not primarily plot driven. Heavy on the spice. Why choose sports (ish) romance.
As someone who has read more of Lucy Smoke's more recent publications, I decided to jump into her back log. This was a change to read something not as dark and twisted as her more current books. However, I found myself enjoying it.
The frist novella starts off with Jamie needing to get out of her dorm to study for her final exam. A winter storm has shut most things down, but she decides that getting away from the situation in her dorm to escape to the library is far better. On the way, she runs into Cody. There is a small bit of history here and she's quick to judge and come off a little rude, which she immediately regrets when she realizes he's not such a bad guy. He too is on his way out and the pair end up heading to the library together.
Once there, Jamie will soon meet Darren, Taylor, and Dex. She has a class with Dex and hopes he will help her study. All five of them are soon emerged in darkness when the winter storm causes the library to lose power. Since the doors are automatic, there is no way to leave, even if the weather wasn't it's own issue. Jamie spends the evening learning quite a bit about these men and finds that they have all been holding on to secrets, specifically regarding her. When the morning comes, she has a choice to make. Stay with these men, or walk away from them.
Obviously, spoiler alert, she decides to pursue whatever is happening between them and we move to the second novella. Jamie is invited to Washington DC and convinces the guys to come with her. We see the relationships between Jamie and each one of the guys develop a little more. New challenges are encountered. Jamie also begins to wonder what society would think of her relationship. They have mostly kept it between the 5 of them, but as the feelings for each of the guys grow stronger, she is faced with the understanding that not everyone is going to accept her choice to be with all of them. She also start to wonder what a future with them could look like.
While in DC, we do see more inside Darren and his struggle. He isn't like the other three guys and he worries about how that could affect his relationship with Jamie.
We learned early on the Dex as a dominant man. Jamie has accepted this in the bedroom, however, while in DC, he tries to push a little too hard. There is a realization under the circumstances surrounding the situation and Jamie learns that he has his reasoning. As a result, there is even more dominance shown in this story than the previous.
Cody has a moment in the beginning of the second story that made it feel like he was having doubts or struggling with some part of the relationship. It's identified briefly, but I'm not sure it is resolved. During a football game, there is an incident that makes Jamie feel threatened in their relationship. She makes it her "mission" to show Cody how much he belongs with her.
I don't feel we have seen a whole lot with Taylor. We have gotten pieces but there still feels like more there. They have a moment before going to DC, but he seems to be more in the background at the moment.
This is absolutely mostly smut. Literally, every other chapter. While there is a story forming, it's meant to be quick and dirty. And trust me when I say the second novella only gets dirtier.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a a light hearted read.

Jamie just needed to pass this last final and then she could go home. When her dorm roommate burst drunkenly into their room, tugging an unknown man behind, she packed up her laptop and books and headed towards the college library through the falling snow. Hoping for some peace and quiet.
When she ran into the university's defensive back in the elevator, she agreed to walk with him since he was heading to the library to take some food to his friend Dex.
The library was empty due to the late hour, and after Darren, another football player, assisted her in finding the research material she needed, they headed up to the study rooms, where they found Dex and Taylor.
Everyone was settling in to their studies when they heard a boom and then everything went dark. The snowstorm outside had gotten worse, and now they were stranded for the night until power was restored, unlocking the electronic doors.
This book is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Jamie had been part of a sorority until they realized she didn't have money and was serious about studying and getting a degree. When she is stranded with the school genius and several football players during a blizzard, they agreed on one night.
This is a reverse harem, forced proximity college romance. But it is not a conclusion to their story. Can't wait to read book two of this duet. If you enjoy reverse harem books, you will love their story. Highly recommend.

Well I do not know where to begin with this book. It is two books in the study break series. I was not sure how this was going to go until I dove into it. So lets join Jamie during her college experience. It started off good til one person flipped on her and was making it a bad experience. For someone who is wanting to make friends, she is having a difficult time. While she is getting ready to go to the library to study for finals she runs into one of the hottest guys on campus. We have four men Cody, Darren, Dex, Donovan who all happen to end up at the library with her. Now Jamie has kept her distance from the guys because of one person who wants to destroy her. These guys have a secret and they are about to share with her in more ways than one. When it gets hot, it really gets hot. She is not sure what she wants to do when given the choice, but as the night goes on she notices that she cannot choose among the men. So can they make a go of a relationship with all of them. This was one hot and heavy read and I enjoyed every word. If you want a good book with a lot of smexy times then you need this book.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book is a college rh story that has a little drama and a lot of steam. Jamie gets snowed in at the library with the four hottest guys on campus. She has her own reasons for staying far away from them. The guys have a plan to take advantage of this opportunity. The chance to have Jamie between them was not going to be passed up by Dex, Cody, Darren and Taylor. They have liked Jamie and plan to show her how good things can be between them. She has her reservations but they fall to the way side pretty fast. Each man brings something different that she needs. The book is about their growing relationship in and out of the bedroom. A lot of heat is generated on these pages. This was a easy reading rh with great characters.

Looooved this!
Break by Lucy Smoke was a really great read. Every once in a while you want a story that isn't afraid to deliver on steam! &With Break(Vol.1), Lucy delivered on that 100%!
Such a "sweet in its own way" story, that I read in one sitting, because I enjoyed these characters so much.
Plus the face that it is reverse harem, makes it all that much better.
Author Lucy Smoke did a fantastic job in portraying a group of sweet, gorgeous men, who just care for their lady....and wanna hit it in every position possible! LOL
If you are a fan of quick, addictive, FAB, and SUPER steamy read's, I HIGHLY recommend getting your hands on this First Volume, (Study Break & Tough Break) and give these characters a chance that they deserve. It may have a lot of steam, but it has a lot more to it as well, making it so easy to forget all responsibilities, and give yourself a much needed, BREAK!

MMMMF in more ways than one! Sexy trapped-by-storm story and weekend away story in one volume.
I really enjoyed this. Great for simple pleasure of shorter reads. Can't say the plot is particularly complex (first part, they're trapped in a library in a storm, that's really all there is to it), but that doesn't make it any less an impressive and sexy one night of passionate fun with one girl and the four guys who all like her. The characters start off simple, but grow into individuals as each of them pull her aside. The second part, Tough Break, felt a little less focused, but it also covered more of a plot progression than the first part. Again, very sexy and easy read; Happily For Now ending doesn't disappoint.

This is a reverse harem story, one of the hottest I've ever read actually and I loved all the characters. Jamie found herself in a library with 4 sexy men during a snow storm and in there, the boys reveal to her that they actually have a crush on her for quite some time now. Soooo... passion ignites among them and they can do nothing but enjoy the intense feelings.
This is a book full of lust and sex scenes and I loved it immensely. If you like steam and hot stories then you should definitely give this a try 🖤

Sometimes I need a break from emotional and heartbreaking stories and crave something quick, enjoyable, and steamy. Break by Lucy Smoke is exactly what I needed to relax before bed.
I did not have very big expectations from this story and yet the author surprised me, positively. Besides hot and intimate scenes I could connect with heroes and have a nice and steady plot. We have the banter, humor, and a huge dose of support between heroes. They cared about each other and shared a strong bond. Jamie and her guys were very likable. I just wish I could get more into the main heroes' heads, I that greedy.
This volume contains Study Break and Tough Break and I had a very good time while reading them.

What a steamy and sexually charged story!
I do love a good RH and this fit the bill in so many ways. It didn't have a really complex plot but still managed to hold my attention and that was probably due to the intense chemistry between Jamie, Dex, Darren,Taylor and Cody! I have to say the first few chapters in the library just took my breath away...I couldn't put it down.....what a situation Jamie found herself in!! I have to admit that Dex at the moment is my favourite just because he is so possessive and dominant!!
I can't wait for the next instalment to find out how Jamie and her Harem are getting on!! I just love their whole dynamic and want more!!!

Okay. Real talk, this is basically two novella length books. Short and dirty reads.
Book 1: Study Break was hilarious and heated. You fall in love with Jamie and are honestly a little (or a lot) jealous that she literally falls into a fantasy p*rn situation by being snowed in at the library with four gorgeous hunks that are crazy about her.
Book 2: Tough Break was lots of spicy scenes with quite a bit of outside intrigue. Unfortunately for me, this fell into the space I usually find myself in with novella length writings: too much to flesh out. There are a lot of things going on outside of the bedroom that keeps you guessing and you really don't get any answers at the end of it. I'm sure things will be answered or revealed in Volume 2 but it felt too big for it's breeches.

If you are looking for a light hearted, fun, sexy reverse harem type of read, these two books are for you!
These books are heavy on spicy and light on plot. This does not make for a bad book like some may assume. The spicy times, ahem, is instant and does not let up throughout the book. There is a storyline, but it is not the focus of this series.
The beginning authors note literally says:
“The Break Volumes are a fun, sexy, and short series. Just to make sure you understand, there is a LOT of sex in this book. Like 90% of this is sex and the other 10% is basically working around how to get back to having sex.”
So, are you a lots of smut, not a lot of plot type of reader? Than this one is for you. 😉 • There is group activities too!
