Lynne Graham was born on July 30, 1956 of Irish-Scottish parentage. She has livedin Northern Ireland all her life. She grew up in a seaside village with herbrother. She learnt to read at the age of 3, and haven't stopped since then.
Lynne first met her husband when she was 14. At 15, she wrote her firstbook, but it was rejected everywhere. Lynne married after she completed adegree at Edinburgh University. She started writing again when she was athome with her first child. It took several attempts before she sold herfirst book in 1987 and the delight of seeing that first book for sale in thelocal newsagents has never been forgotten. Now, there are over 10 million ofher books in print worldwide.
Lynne always wanted a large family and has five children. Her eldest and heronly natural child is 19 and currently at university. Her other fourchildren, who are every bit as dear to her heart, are adopted. She has two9-year-olds adopted from Sri Lanka and a 5- and a 3-year-old adopted fromGuatemala. In Lynne's home, there is a rich and diverse cultural mix, whichadds a whole extra dimension of interest and discovery to family life. Thefamily lives in a country house surrounded by a woodland garden, which iswonderfully private. The family has two pets. Thomas, a very large andaffectionate black cat, bosses the dog and hunts rabbits. The dog is Daisy,an adorable but not very bright white West Highland terrier, who loves beingchased by the cat. At night, dog and cat sleep together in front of thekitchen stove. Lynne loves gardening, cooking, collects everything from oldtoys to rock specimens and is crazy about every aspect of Christmas.
I'm an unapologetic, shameless fan of asshole alpha male heroes, but on very rare occasions, I come across a H who's the exact opposite and I end up loving him.
Saif, is probably Lynne Graham's sweetest H ever.
He made this marriage of convenience story enjoyable, especially when I felt like strangling the insecure and moody heroine.
Saif, the crown prince of Alharia, is one of Lynne Graham's newer non playboy, Beta heroes.
I'm so unused to this type of H in HPlandia, that I kept waiting for him to unleash his jerk persona and take a sprint on Asshole Avenue. But he never wavered, even during the heroine's most snarky moments of shrewishness.
✔️ He's accommodating and thoughtful.
✔️ He listens to her patiently when she attempts to explain how she ended up as his makeshift/substitute bride.
✔️ He's the super dutiful and selfless son of an elderly, eccentric and ailing king. He knows that his octogenarian dad is a tiresome curmudgeon but he truly loves the old man and I found that endearing.
In fact, he only agrees to marry a woman he's never seen, just to please the sickly old man.
✔️ He's got his mommy issues, but he doesn't allow it to turn him into the type of sexy toxic ogres who dwell in the platinum penthouses of HPlandia's Billionaire Boulevard. He deals with his mommy abandonment issues, in a mature way. Instead of fixating on it and searching for vengeance around every corner, he's determined to let bygones remain in the past.
✔️ He's not a manwhore playboy, who enjoys jet-setting, clubbing and collecting glamorous mistresses.
✔️ In fact, he's such a private person that people don't even know what he looks like, because he's never on social media or in the tabloids.
✔️ He's cool, calm, collected and somewhat cerebral.
✔️ He's the strong, silent type of guy and I have a weak spot for this type in real life. In HPlandia, I might prefer the rude, obnoxious jerkholes because they're more entertaining. But in real life, it's the strong, sexy silent type that sets my fires ablazin' 😊. After all, still waters do run deep....
This is the H, Saif: She found it utterly impossible to look away from Saif. His raw desirability was that intense from his tousled black hair to the rich green deep-set eyes fringed with ebony lashes that magnetised her.
In this story, the H wasn't supposed to marry the heroine. Her vapid cousin Ana had been his intended bride. Ana, who had never seen the H, assumed that he was boring and unattractive. But like all golddiggers, she agreed to the marriage because all that delicious money was too tempting to turn down.
The heroine gets bullied into taking Ana's place, on the day of the wedding, when the latter's rich ex boyfriend finally proposed.
Since this is HPlandia, we're introduced to a convenient little technicality that makes it possible for us to suspend our disbelief and buy into this last minute bridal switcheroo: both the heroine and her slagbitch cousin, share the exact same name: Tatiana Hamilton.
This is the heroine, Tatiana: ...he could not help admiring that long wheaten-blond hair that rippled down her spine like a sheet of rumpled satin.
Obviously, it almost falls apart when the heroine's aunt and uncle realize that it's their niece who's dressed up in the bridal costume. However, due to excessive emotional blackmail from their respective relatives, the MC's get married and agree to divorce after a decent interval has elapsed.
They're both insanely attracted to each other, even though the H is convinced that she's just as opportunistic as her cousin. However, Lynne G swerves from the predictable plot route; she doesn't allow this initial conflict (and its concomitant misunderstandings) to drag on and fuel the core storyline all the way to the end.
By the time we get to the 38% point in the novel, this primary conflict is cleared up when the H learns that Tatiana's not another lazy, self absorbed, opportunistic socialite like her cousin.
What follows, is the MC's budding *friends with benefits* marriage, that's further complicated by an unexpected pregnancy.
Both MC's are falling in love with each other, simultaneously, but each is so concerned with emotional self preservation issues, that inaccurate assumptions, on both sides, are made.
She thinks she's not good enough for him and this causes her to be proud and snarky, in an effort to prove that her emotions aren't involved. He interprets this as a sign that she's just sexually attracted to him but can't wait to be free to move on with her life.
Despite these significant misunderstandings, it's evident that they truly care for each other. He's the one who's there for her after her mom dies and he also uncovers proof of her relatives' ongoing efforts to steal her inheritance.
During this part of the story, the heroine REALLY started to get on my nerves because she kept looking for ways to defend her disgusting relatives, when the H rightfully insisted that they deserved to be jailed for their crimes.
She was even concerned about her selfish slagbitch cousin Ana, even after Ana literally told her that she now wanted the H for herself, when she saw how hot and handsome he was. Isn't it ludicrously farcical for a heroine to feel sorry for another female who has told her that she intends to go after her man?
At this point, I started laughing at the unbelievable naivety of this heroine, who was mouthy towards the wonderful H but bent down like a bargain basement doormat, so that her sickening relatives, who hate her, could stomp all over her with their shit stained shoes.
It's like she was still desperate for her relatives' approval and hadn't yet learnt that important life lesson:
It's almost enough to make me want a little bit of timeout from this heroine...
I wasn't even bothered too much by the pushy antics of slagbitch cousin Ana, because she was just behaving true to form and...
But, I ended up empathizing with the heroine, because she owned up to her errors in judgement, long before she realized that the H was also in love with her.
And similarly, the H also showed significant self awareness when he figured out that he needs to be less controlling, if he wants the then pregnant heroine to stay with him.
I definitely enjoyed this more than The Ring the Spaniard Gave Her, Lynne Graham's preceding novel. It's nice change to read a sexy-sweet love story about a H who goes all out for his heroine, even before he realizes that he's in love with her. But it doesn't mean I'm in a hurry to give up on those ruthless alpha assholes though...
The highlight of this novel was the well deserved comeuppance for the heroine's aunt and uncle, who were both imprisoned for their crimes. But what I couldn't understand was how the heroine ended up becoming best friends with her slagbitch cousin Ana 🤔. That woman seemed to have been given a LynneGraham™️ personality transplant, by the time I got to the epilogue.
And, speaking of the epilogue: Lynne G delivered a winner with this one, that's set 5 years in the future where the H's 90 year old dad is surrounded by the MC's 3 kids and eagerly awaiting the birth of their 4th.
Fingers crossed that Her Best Kept Royal Secret, which is Angelino's ( Saif's younger half brother ) story is just as good - if not better.
Safety: No OW, no OM, no separation and obviously no cheating.

"Cinderella's Desert Baby Bombshell" is the Tati and Saif.
Our hero who is heir to the throne finds himself blackmailed into a marriage of convenience. When his bride decides to elope, her poor cousin hides her tracks- leading to them getting married instead- albeit due to coercion. Ofcourse, they start lusting after one another, which leads to loads of lovemaking, past secrets being exposed, some drama and a HEA.
reread edit: On second reread, found the hero to be caring towards the heroine and supporting her when her mother dies and protecting her from the relatives.
Short story, quite a novella, and nothing new. So short review also. Heroine marries hero instead of her more glamorous cousin, she’s quite a Cinderella because her uncle exploited her and robbed her of her inheritance. The hero is sweet and kind, not a womanizer, and he’s in love with her almost immediately. Usual LG style, he cannot keep himself from having sex with her. Insta lust for both. There’s a big misunderstanding because both of them thinks the other wants to divorce as soon as they can, while they are in love with each other and don’t want to confess. I liked the hero more, the heroine was quite annoying and unpleasant. I didn’t really appreciate this book. No angst, only a difficult communication between two immature and insecure people.
Started in a good way I was excited to see where the relationship is going but the h was so annoying , the H is a nice hot guy , and the epilogue was cute with their 3 kids and the 4th on the way
Though heroine was a little annoying with her shrill behaviour towards hero and sweet behaviour with her lying, cheating relatives, I liked her. But it’s the hero who stole my heart. He was perfect! Straight laced, generous and honourable. Safe and recommended.
Meh. This wasn’t horrible. I liked that the hero wasn’t as Big a manwhore as the usual HP hero but he wasn’t cold and hard and honestly the only reason I’m still reading these are for the virgin heroine to bring the big bad alphahole to his knees. (And the secret babies!)
The hero was much softer than the usual LG hero. And of course the smexy times were ruined by gross condom use. So really the only thing this book has going for it was the sweet heroine and a manwhore-lite hero.
Safe. Hero’s past is briefly mentioned. Never had any relationships, only occasional ONS when out of his country. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No real OW, no OM drama. No cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue. .
Cinderella’s Desert Baby Bombshell is one of the most enjoyable Lynne Graham new releases.
Tatiana is thrown in the middle of her cousin’s wedding, as the bride. Only intending to help her cousin with providing enough time for her to run away; not to actually be the bride, Tatiana is thrown a curveball when her uncle threatens her and Prince Saif continues with the marriage.
Lynne Graham has weaved a wonderfully exotic world with an equally beautiful Prince. Mixed in with a wicked family and disastrous cousin, I was hooked. With a wonderful tale weaved, I loved how clear it was for all to see Saif was falling in love, all we needed was both him and Tati to be brave and speak what they both felt before time ran out.
Sprinkled with humor and good old fashioned drama, I really enjoyed Cinderella’s Desert Baby Bombshell and am looking forward to book 2 and reading more about the Prince’s mysterious brother.
LG is a superb writer - but, sadly, I am so irritated with her heroines. Tati irritated me for far too long. Her willingness to overlook and forgive the terrible relatives (and I include the rotten cousin Anna in that), became so utterly ridiculous and unbearable that I skimmed parts of this.
Saif was an absolute sweetie. What he saw in Tati I couldn't understand.
My rating: 3.5 out of 5 Lynne Graham is one of my favorite HP authors and her books make sigh dreamily. I don't even like sheikh stories, but I really enjoyed this one. Prince Saif has to get married in order to make his ailing father happy and his father had chosen the granddaughter of an old friend from England. Saif was abandoned by his mother when he was a toddler to run away with another man, so it was his father who raised him. Ergo, he has mommy issues. The bride is Tatiana who has a cousin named Tatiana. Ana doesn’t want to marry a man she’s never met, so she persuades her cousin Tati to take her place as a distraction while she runs away back to England to be with her boyfriend. Tati goes through the pampering and makeover that a princess bride deserves, but when she gets to the ceremony, the groom’s father insists that they get married anyway and Tati’s evil uncle threatens to cut off the funds to Tati’s mother’s nursing home if she doesn't marry Saif. The two of them end up getting married and Saif tells her they'll only be married from six months to a year, so she might as well get the best of it and live in the life of luxury while they're married. Of course Saif dismisses her as a gold-digging tramp. They go to Paris for their honeymoon and Saif sends her on a shopping spree. Outraged that he called her a gold-digger, Tati decides to spend a ton of his money, while out shopping, which works out because she doesn't really have the wardrobe of a princess as she'd been living as a poor relation all her life. Though they initially clash, the two of them end up having sex and Tati proposes a “friends with benefits” type of relationship which suits Saif just fine. They have lots of fun in Paris, getting to know each other, and getting more intimate for three weeks, until Tati has to go back to England as her mother has fallen ill. In England, Tati discovers she’s pregnant and is reluctant to tell Saif because he's been insistent on their marriage having a termination date. When she tells him, he is adamant that they stay together for the sake of the child. At the same time, Saif is suspicious of Tati since his abandonment issues make him mistrust all women. He thinks Tati might run away, too. Meanwhile, Tati doesn’t want to stay in a loveless marriage just for the sake of a child as she is convinced she can take care of the child just fine. However, Tati cannot be allowed to leave while she’s pregnant because she might be carrying the heir. She and Saif argue back and forth about what to do, while Tati’s scheming relatives get back in the picture. Ana, Tati’s cousin, who ran away from the marriage, is now jealous that Tati is literally a princess and she would like it very much if Tati got out of the way so she and Saif can be together. Hilarious. It’s hard to be even mad at her because she’s so clueless. There’s really not much to say about this book as it was pleasant, but not really all that memorable. I liked the heroine and to my surprise, I liked the hero, too, even though he was kind of a dick in the beginning.

I can’t believe an experienced author babbling about how two first cousins share the same name for plot convenience and h’s mother being institutionalized and supported by her uncle to explain her martyrdom would hook a reader in Chapter 1. The few times the h speaks up in Chapter 2 or 3, she is reacting from a fight or flight mode which essentially means she is either aggressive or passive or a combination of the two. There aren’t any signs of her using higher brain functions. The H is no better. He doesn’t exemplify any better qualities beyond his good looks! Really disappointing that an author with so many books she has written in the past hasn’t evolved at all in her writing beyond a virginal, martyr h and a male chauvinistic, suspicious and misogynistic H with mommy issues.
The father-son love between prince saif and his father was really a rare read. But saif was a jerk for taking out his anger on Tati on their wedding day, not just that, he was like his benefit from This marriage will be to bed her. I took great joy in the ultimatium she gave to him on their wedding day. It was truly a lovely book but why did i not give it 5 stars? I dont know. I just felt there was something missing though i laughed a lot and felt lots of emotions during my read. I found tatiana to be a little insecure about herself, her virginity and she sent a lot of mixed. I Think we can put the blame on her uncle and aunt for how the treated her. Im happy saif didnt have a strained relationship with hos half-brother.
This is the 1st book in the series and it was very good. The h and H were married in an arranged marriage but the h wasn’t the original bride, her cousin was but the cousin had ran off. They married and eventually discovered they liked each other. The h was a very good, sweet, kind and beautiful person, she was very naive about her relatives. The H had his trust issues due his mother’s abandonment. Great epilogue.
It was ok, I did like the hero. I understood why he was how he was and he was a jerrk at times but it wasn't his default setting, he was a good guy majority of the time. I would say being combative wasn't heroines default setting in the whole of her life, but during the book she fought constantly with the hero and it grated on my nerves a bit. I didn't really like how she constantly made bad choices like omitting telling hero stuff and then a blowup happening because of it. P.
Tati and Saif are interesting, scarred characters. Both have been rejected by a parent and have the scars that still affect them years later. There is a marriage of convenience, but what they get out of it is so much more. It was fun going along on their adventure and watching them grow both individually and as a couple. I loved the way Saif treated Tati from the beginning. This is another excellent read by Graham.
This is just the most basic and typical of Harlequin fodder. The arguments are more annoying than anything, plot twists are either predictable or completely thrown in, the characters are mostly unlikable and the book spends way too much time narrating the past and much less time with any dialogue that could've been used to flesh out the plot. Up to this point, this is the worst of Lynne Graham's catalog that I've read.
it is okay, i like it. the hero wasn't so much of a jerk, he was sweeter than expected.
the heroine was a replacement bride because her cousin ran away right before the wedding, and they had the same name. the hero thought she was a gold digger and all that shit at first.
I enjoyed Said and Tatiana romance as the journey to finding their love for each other. The story lines was well written. I would recommend this book to friends a family.
A little honesty and open communication and there would have been no problems. I know that doesn’t make for as exciting of a story but I’m still looking for a book where the characters come up against unavoidable problems and handle them with an ounce of maturity.
This story is a wonderful, very interesting, love story. Tati has been taken advantage of all her life and it doesn't look like it will end with her marriage to Saif. However, in standing up for herself, she finally realizes who she really is and how strong she is. Tati is someone to admire and I believe you will love her and admire how strong she is.
