A Change in Tide
What impact would it have when everything suddenly faded to black?

For Mia, a crowded subway ride changes her entire life. Retreating to the wilderness helps her cope with a world that is suddenly too loud, too turbulent.
Her existence safely contained to the small cottage on the lake, she is unprepared for the neighbor that moves across the bay

A career-ending injury has Jared permanently benched. His reputation as The Enforcer won't survive the unanticipated responsibilities awaiting him.
Away from the public eye, he adjusts to his new reality, under the quiet observation of the intriguing hermit on the other side of the water.

A Change of View
What if one morning you look in the mirror and no longer recognize the person looking back?

When Leelo can no longer identify herself by the roles that once defined her, it's both terrifying and liberating. Oh, she feels the loss, the grief, and then the anger, but when she inherits property up north, she jumps at the promise of freedom and independence.

Yet not everyone in her new community is what they seem, starting with the surly mountain man down the road.

As owner of the local fishing lodge, Roar is content with his everyday life. And the older he gets, the less he appreciates change. So when a blue-haired, tattooed 'city girl' moves into the old motel, shaking up his daily routine, he's none too pleased.

Still, something about the woman's easy smile and almost reckless grit has him step up as her keeper.

A Change of Pace
Once a man who lived by the letter of the law.

Newt Tobias will do anything for his little girl. Even take early retirement, sell his city home, and move to cottage country, hoping that the simpler life will provide a better balance for his troubled teenage daughter.

Yet, not long after they've settled, he finds himself toe-to-toe with a stubborn, fiery-tempered woman with pretty brown eyes.

Once a recluse preferring to live alone.

Working with troubled adolescents, Frederique Marchand doesn't suffer fools and won't put up with bullies. Especially handsome strangers like Newt who think they can run roughshod over her. She loves her work, but on her own time, she much prefers the company of her menagerie of animals.

But with the welfare of a teenager at stake, she must put aside rocky first impressions and work with a man who needs her as much as she'll come to need him.

Audio Review:
A Change Of Tide is a entertaining listen. I like how the story is based in Northern Ontario, Canada as I live in Southwestern Ontario and have been to a couple cities listed. The characters are realistic and fully developed.
Narrators Charley Ongel and Tor Thom brought the story and characters to life. These two natural chemistry always shines. through. Always enjoy listening to these two Narrate.

A Change A View is a different type of story that for so some reason I struggled to get into the story as I was a bit confused. I don't know if it was all the characters or I missed something from the beginning but I didn't enjoy this one as much. The narrator's Austin Barringer and Anneliese Reynolds are both new narrator's to me. I found a new narrator to drool over. Lol . Austin's performance was perfect. Anneliese gave Leelo her own voice. Her inflection is mature and reflected the different emotions the Leelo felt. Together these two brought the story and characters to life.

A Change Of Pace was my favourite story of the series. I loved the characters and the storyline kept me listening till the very end. My favourite character is Boulder the dog. Both narrator's Stephanie-Nemeth-Parker and Mathew Madoux are new to me and I loved the dual narration. I enjoyed both narrator's and would definitely listen to them again.

Overall the stories are well written and entertaining with a lovely cast of talented narrators that brought out the stories and characters.

Wow another fabulously emotional action packed story from Freya. So many different aspects with the various characters and events that affect all of them in one way or other, but what comes out at the end is bigger and stronger than any were to start with. Amazing animals add to all of it especially Boulder, who is empathetic and always supportive with extra cuddles and licks. It's inspiring and uplifting, a bit scary and worrying at times (subject matter) there is some suspense and a small amount of violence. Mostly this is a story of a lost little girl who's dad just wants to do anything he can to bring back her smile, a woman who has been through hell and survived and helps troubled kids and a man who adores his daughter and hopes a new start is the right move. Some witty banter adds light relief to what could be a heavy read otherwise, well written and a steady pace. I was engrossed and captivated reading it and had a few tears at the end, good ones.

Can't pick a favorite

These three stories were all fabulous! They are not connected by characters but have similar settings in that they all take place in Canada. I have only read one other series by this author, her Edge of series. This set is very different but just as good. I got this author's name when I followed a thread about characters that are older. I am in my late 50s myself and have a hard time when authors five too much maturity or life experience to someone who hasn't gotten to 25 yet. This author does not disappoint. Her characters are real with all the flaws and experiences of normal people.

Northern Lights boxed set 3 stories

Change of Tide, View, Place
Each standalone book written about places I am familiar with in Canada was like a homecoming plus! Each individual was about real people, unused to relationships facing their own separate struggles. I highly recommend the Northern Lights series if you enjoy a very good story about folks who could be your neighbours…another great series Freya, cannot get enough of your stories
