***The Imdalind Series has been completely remastered in Volume Two of this full series box set!***
The Time for the final battle has come. Edmund’s armies have surrounded the Rioseco Abbey, trapping the few survivors inside. The sight that Ilyan was given a thousand years ago is about to come to pass. The sight has shown Joclyn her power, shown her success, but it has also shown her death – The end of her life something she is not quite willing to give up on yet. But her choice to live will set a chain of events in motion that could either and secure their future, or destroy their fate.
Rebecca Ethington has been telling stories since she was small. First, with writing crude scripts, and then on stage with years of theatrical performances. The Imdalind Series is her first stint into the world of literary writing. Rebecca is a mother to two, and wife to her best friend of 14 years. She was born and raised in the mountains of Salt Lake City, and hasn’t found the desire to leave yet. Her days are spent writing, running, and enjoying life with her amazing family.
So, years ago I read this series up to Burnt Devotion and stopped. I was waiting for the rewrites that the author declared the series needed. What I've read now has blown me away. And I was surprised how much I had forgotten from Burnt Devotion. This edition merged Soul of Flame and Burnt Devotion which kept the story moving. Then it included Brand of Betrayal and Dawn of Ash. I love that Joclyn is so strong, the Silny, because if she wasn't she wouldn't have survived this book and all that she must endure with her magic thanks to Sain and what was revealed in Brand of Betrayal. Another perfect edition. I am loving but also scared to see where this series goes.
I quickly read the first 3 books and picked up this set of 4-7. I honestly don't know why this section of the story is 4 books long. Content for 2 at a stretch. The story itself, the key plot points are all good and unique but oh my the unnecessary filler! It feels almost like chapters just go on and on with no further plot expansion. I had to stop reading the first time I started to read as it was just boring and i was getting wound up. but I hate not finishing books, as I said before the story is really unique but this feels like it needs a heavy dose of editing.
Love the rewrite! It is engaging and has cleared up a lot of questions from the original, even though I still love the original. I can't wait to see how many more questions will be answered in the next book.
