Back With Me is part of Kristen Proby’s With Me in Seattle Universe.
Being told at sixteen that your parents have died and that you have to move two states away is enough for any child. But for Payton Moore it’s an emotional nightmare, she has to leave the man that she loves behind too.
Silas plays for Seattle Football and Payton was always meant to join him so they could live happily ever after. But when she decides to surprise him, she turns out to be the one who’s surprised. He’s in the arms of another woman.
Not waiting for an explanation Payton leaves and pursues her career as a model. Her face is on billboards everywhere, but she’ll never forget her one true love.
Silas sees Payton everywhere. How is he supposed to get over his love for her when he sees her betrayal everywhere?
When these two bump into each other again, their feelings rise to the surface. But are they feelings of love or hate?
Can these two soulmates overcome their misunderstandings and trust each other again? Or is there just too much water under the bridge?
Follow Payton and Silas’ emotional journey as they work out whether they can overlook the past and move into the future.
I really wanted to like this one. But Payton is a spineless doormat who jumps RIGHT back into unprotected times with the guy who cheated on her and then proceeded to make his way through women for a few years, so nope. She didn’t confront him at all about the women who answered the phone when she called. She didn’t make him explain or grovel or anything. She lunged to be with the guy who broke her heart and who she remained celibate for even after he clearly moved on to many others. And Silas was scum. I know, it’s a book. But I’m really tired of the “he’s with countless women while she’s pining for their lost love” game. Nothing was communicated. Nothing was dredged up. Nothing was solved. No thanks.
My first DNF of 2021. I tried I really tried but I just couldn’t find it in myself to finish. It was good until this moment that I found strange and it just lacked something to keep me entertained.
I’ve been looking forward to this one. We were teased with first 2 chapters in this authors emails. It’s a short, but sweet story about young love, losing each other, and then finding each other again. They never stopped loving one another, and even once back together they struggle with heartbreak. Definitely give this book a try.
It really takes me out of a book when details are wrong. Nine weeks after Christmas, the football season is long over and in the US the legal drinking age is 21. Payton is only 19. Natalie wouldn't have taken her for drinks.
Unfortunately... not a fan of this one. I just couldn't wrap my romantic brain around all of the heartache and drama of a 16 year old girl (Payton) being discovered as a model right after her second most devastating moment. And then she becomes one of the most wanted models in the industry. As well, the jumps in time, from two weeks up to 6 months were just jarring to keep track. Silas, while professing his undying love and devotion, becomes a playboy when his love refuses to return his calls and then disconnects her number. While I can appreciate that they are able to explore their more adventurous side and take chances on their future, the chemistry between them just doesn't mesh.
AMAZING! I am usually a little shy of college-age books, but I loved that this story spanned several years. Silas and Payton’s story was heartbreaking and frustrating in some parts, but the HEA was so worth it! I am new to KL Humphreys, but I need to go devour all the books! I hope some of the side characters in this story get their own books (HINT, HINT). FIVE HUGE STARS!
I really wanted to love this book, but it just didn't quite work for me. KL Humphreys' writing was pretty good. The beginning of the story started out promising, too. I loved seeing and catching up with the Seattle crew!
There were a few things that I found difficult to come to terms with. I did not like how quickly Silas and Payton got back together so so quickly. Another thing that I had trouble: Silas was a professional football player, but his team was still playing the regular season into the spring. Things also fell right into Payton's lap too easily.
Overall, I liked the book enough to finish reading it, but it wasn't a hit for me.
Oh this book had all the feels. So much life trails and tribulations. You can feel the emotions from Payton and Silas through the pages. Make sure to have a box of tissues next to you when you read this. You will definitely need them, but your not gonna want to miss out on this book.
Can love survive and overcome the odds? Silas and Payton thought they could survive anything till she lost her parents and had to move and than a situation gets read wrong and they lose each other. For a 3 years their wires get crossed and they don't talk than by chance they run into other. Will they be able to figure it all out or will something bigger and more devastating happens? This book had me in tears and pulled out every emotion and feeling I had and rung me dry. I was pulled in and didn't want their to story to end. An amazing read that will pull at your heart and soul and make you believe that love can survive. Can't wait to read what she has next.
This book had me in tears so many times but it also had happy moments of joy and passion. Well rounded story with some adolescent drama thrown in. Good 2nd chance romance as well as man shut alpha male loyal and loving, supportive. It has it all
I liked it but with all the misunderstandings and f@$#-ups, you would think they would talk it over. No...nothing. Just literally said... "we had misunderstandings"....and then dives back into a serious relationship.
Oh, I loved this one! I loved seeing the gang and meeting new ones too! Silas and Payton have a special relationship and I loved the ending for them. So cute!
A story of loss and growth, of mistakes made but filled with love. Payton lost her parents and her first love all in the same year. Now she has to find her own path to grow, knowing that she will never get over her first love, Silas. A misunderstanding tears his world apart taking his heart with it. Now he has to fight for his spot on the team ensuring his career takes off while missing a piece of his heart through it all. This is a star crossed lovers tale, with sparks when they finally connect ringing their worlds together with passion and love. Showing that their love would and could overcome any all obstacles thrown their way. I was blown away how strong of a bond Silas and Payton had for one another. Knowing that their hearts belonged to the other while fighting their way back to one another, they learn more about themselves than they ever could have had they not been separated. This is the first book I have read by Humpreys and I know after this book it won’t be the last.
Silas and Payton are high school sweethearts and have their whole future mapped out. But when tragedy strikes and plans are forced to change will they still be able to make it work? This was a great story with some great characters. I loved watching Payton find her own way and become her own woman. My only complaint was the overuse of the word baby. It seemed like Silas couldn't talk to Payton without calling her baby 50 times. That is just a pet peeve of mine and it drives me crazy. Other than that, I loved the book!
This book takes place over years and you get to watch Payton and Silas grow as individuals and then make their way back together. You get to see them reach their dreams even if they didn’t know it was their dream! It’s a beautiful story but heartbreaking at times!!
This is a good second chance romance. There were things that I felt were far fetched. I liked the characters well enough but I personally like a story where there are hardships that help them grow and I didn't feel that here....I did however feel this is a good beach read.
this book was amazing and a little sad! her whole world was ripped apart after her parents died. moved to another state away from the love of her life. these two will not let distance come between them or will it? read to find out.
With Me In Seattle Universe OMG I love the with me In Seattle series so much, so to have new books so excited. This tells the story of Silas and Payton. Everyone’s first love is special but what Silas and Payton have is so much more but the road to forever never goes smoothly. They have a rocky road lots of emotions plenty of love but many mistakes and mistrust along the way, but it’s is such a great story I read it in one afternoon because I just loved it so much and hearing about the characters from the original series is exciting to see they still are the happy loving people. This is truly a fabulous book one I could read again and again.
I fell in love with sweet Payton, in the first chapter. This poor girl has seen so much lose in her life, but she has also turned into an amazing independent strong woman. Silas altho there were a few chapters i wanted to smack him in the back of the head, he actually redeemed himself a whole lot. These two have always had the dream to be together, and succeed, altho they had a few rough years, they made me so giddy just reading their love story. Amazing read!
I absolutely loved this book. From the devastation that starts this book, through the cheating, betrayal, & hurt this book has kept my attention, I mean I didn’t want to stop reading to drive to work!! Then the love and heartbreaking news. Seeing if they can make it....... what an awesome read.
