Elemental Summoner #1

Elemental Summoner #1

Rate this book
Alex was living the life. His life. He worked as a convenience store clerk to pay for his games and books. At 26 years old, he was living the high life of a loner. But a bullet hole in the head ended all that. There was only one problem: he wasn’t supposed to die that day. Everyone has a time and a day that they are meant to die. That was not supposed to be Alex’s day. So God gave him a choice.

Option 1: Soul for soul. He could take the life of the person who was meant to die that day, become that person, and completely forget who “Alex” was. Or option 2: Keep being Alex, and transition to a world where magic was real, a world where God would give him the tools to survive. Alex, who loved fantasy stuff like a crack addict, picked Option 2. So God threw him through a black portal. Once on the other side, and on another world, little did Alex know that those tools would be the ability to use all five Elemental magics. Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Mind.

The kicker? The English language seems to trigger them. Now, Alex is in for a world of adventure as he jokingly called himself “The Elemental Summoner,” but he didn’t know that title was feared by everyone in the world of Boromour. Because once every thousand years, an Elemental Summoner was born who could wield all five Elementals magics and usually ended up destroying everything around them in their quest for power. Except, for Alex, the power is changing him as well. But, Alex meets sexy, and powerful in their own rights, monster girls who might just be able to temper his power to not become evil.

This series contains the unabridged text (Meaning adult), mayhem, monster girls, fluffy tails, and just plain lots of magic.

"What!" "What the fuck?". If it were a drinking game with those two exclamations you'd be getting your stomach pumped after a chapter or two. I found the MC's thick-headedness and requirement to say "What!" upon receipt of any new information (something that spread to the supporting characters too) really irritating, a major contributor to the 3 rating I've given this book.

Otherwise a competent book from a grammatical standpoint, but this particular isekai idea has been done better elsewhere.

Inconsistent

Mc can put a person to sleep with a thought, but not some random rat? This is but a random example, but his powers and abilities are wildly inconsistent. If you are going to make you MC OP. Then make clear limited if you don't want him to steam-roll every encounter, otherwise he comes across as an idiot as he could simply think. "Mind. Kill yourself." And every fight would be over, instead he comes up with elaborate but hilariously inefficient ways to use the elements... characters and world building is also... questionable. I'll leave it at that. Another of the 2* reviews says it well.

Sucked! Nothing really good a cross the board

Story. Basic plot with nothing special. Quite boring.

Character. MC has some of the traits I hate the most. He’s not acting like a real person!!! He’s clueless. The amount of “what the hell” moments boggles me. And almost every action or dialogue ends with several sentences with explaining why or what he’s thinking about. Mostly SJW dialogue against race discrimination or slavery. I just hate then super good guy.

Magic. This is probably the worst about the book. It’s sloppy and mix all of them, but still being so simplistic and stupid. He has to speak the spells “Earth. Earth dagger. Earth.”, it’s so repetitive and stupid. But then he doesn’t need to, but does it any way. The magic and litrpg are so subpar coming from an avid gamer anime author. You are not a writer!

Harem. There is not much. Hot elf and you don’t wanna tap that all the time. Really?!?!?? A hot tub scene, just drool. You would think the author is a 13 year old virgin.

Worldbuilding. There is almost non. You get a 1000% more of what Earth is like, which is so annoying. I read fantasy for fantasy, but I get all mundane explanations about Earth. Such a big failure from the author.

Finally, there is so many logical fails with the dialogue, magic system and more that I can’t list them all. Sloppy or perhaps stupid. I won’t continue the series or read more from this author!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't go through all of it

Gave up at around 60%. Usually, there is a main story and the erotic part is built around the story. Well, it seems in this part, the main story is especially for the MC to get more love partners. No main story, no character building, nothing else.

The is the second book I have read from this author. I didn't like the first book that much. I am glad a gave this one a try. The MC is a guy who isn't doing much with his life. He ends up interrupting a holdup at work and dying. Turns out it wasn't his time to die, he was supposed to have called in sick to work and his boss was supposed to die. Now God has a dilemma. He gives the MC a choice. He could take over his bosses body and live his life with his memories. Or he can go to another planet that God watches over. A planet with magic and magical creatures. Being a fantasy lover, he chooses the second option. He gets to this new world and finds out God has really hooked him up. Most people can use only one of the elements. He can use all 5. He was what is known as an elemental summoner which occurs once every 1000 years. These people change the world and not always for the better. Overall I enjoyed the story and am planning on reading the next one.

The story is better than average, and somewhat absurd at the same time. This is an isekai-fantasy (reincarnated in another world) called Boromour. Here the humans are discriminatory and genocidal towards all of the beast-spirit-other-beings... Main character Alex is brought here by "God" to try to make this world a better place. So slowly and surely Alex, learns to use his Over-Powered (OP) elemental magics (can use without much limits all five elemental magics.) It becomes absurd when to be able to heal something or somebody in this other world, he has to have sexual intercourse with his 5 elemental spirit, Brigit. Is it possible to have sensual liaisons with an incorporeal being? This author says yes!. At first the author was stating that it would be a regular monogamous, heretosexual relationship and then all of a sudden, changes the rules, so Brigit and Alex's first "wife" Leeha now has homosexual sex with Bridgit as well as with Alex. So it became a Harem-like-retinue-polyamorous-bisexual-trisexual-isekai-fantasy-novel series. This is another one of those stories where the sex in unneeded. The story would be above average with just the elemental magic and quests, and adventures of the main characters. So I really don't know what the author has in his head (the low emotional intelligence one)...
It is arrogant and immature to think that a harem needs to be a "porn movie every time", that the "wives or sensual relations" need to have sex with each other and the main character is still a "straight heterosexual"...like I have written before, without seduction, without any pretense or common sense, these wet and wild book geek authors think that their books are going to sell more if they make them "erotica" stories. The problem is that these authors barely know how to write properly, and none know how to write about charm and seduction in love and real sensual relations... It's like asking book-geek-virgins to come up with bad porn stories and their writing reflects this.
This novel series has 4 volumes so far. I hope that the other volumes do not start with crude sexual relations, adultery, polyamorous relationships, that are worse than bad porn.
This volume one ends in a cliffhanger.

I loved it

My first time reading this author, I must say I absolutely loved this book…but I am dinging it one star… let’s get the bad out of the way first… our MC, he has an extremely annoying trait… now, he has discovered God is real and that he has placed him on this new world with extreme OP abilities… he has also found out that he collects these heavenly points…. He has also found out that if you upset God you can LOSE these heavenly points which he quickly found out and God being gracious and forgiving gave him back his token after proving that what the Lord giveth he can taketh away… now, understanding this I’m getting very tired of him dropping F bombs when he discovers something associated with God and his OP abilities. I mean bro, you’re an otaku… you LIVE for this bruh… ROLL with it.. go NUTS!!! GO HAM!! God has told you this is a job interview for ruling this planet! That means right the wrongs that the last guy has done! Surround yourself with a good harem, train them up to be strong and protect you and heal that world! Not say F this and F bomb that every time you make a discovery! It’s just disrespectful. I mean man, I cuss like a rabid sailor but if my Lord appeared in front of me and I was in this position I wouldn’t be dropping MOABS like that each time I found out a new power or cursing his name. Now, with that being said this series has so much potential! I love it so much so far. The epicness is there! Alex is setup for phenomenal success and greatness! I want to see what he does and where he goes! This book would have been 5 🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨 stars 🌟 if it wasn’t for that small pet peeve of mine. Anyways, let’s dig into the next book! Onward lads!

I really didn't want to write this review but I felt the need simply because of how bad the series gets after the first couple of books. Books 1 and 2 aren't amazing, but they are a descent jaunt into a somewhat silly fantasy world. Sure there are some literary missteps along the way but those can be forgiven.

However by the third book the writing gets extremely sloppy. I found myself constantly reporting plot content errors. Let me reiterate this point. As a reader, I was pointing out how the author of the work was clearly wrong describing aspects of the world they themselves had created. Names of characters and languages were changed at random simply because the author forgot what he had named the character before. Other side characters were forgotten entirely even if they had been waiting for the main character to get back to them. Numerous times the main character inexplicably forgot his own exploits, claiming he had never done a task he had literally performed several pages prior. It became a struggle to get any sense of the plot with things being so inconsistent.

In the middle of the fourth book, after seeing the main character's amnesia for the umpteenth time, I just could not do it any more. Too many inconsistencies in the story. Too many repeated jokes. Too much sloppy writing. And far, FAR too boring of a plot device to warrant continuing. I put the book down and found something better to read.

My Rating System:
5- Perfect for my taste, could not physically stop reading/listening, wanted more afterword.
4- Almost perfect, could not stop reading/listening, probably wanted more afterword.
3- Enjoyed the book, could see others loving it, need to think if I want more.
2- Can see why others might like the book, but I could not, I do not want more.
1- What is this? What went wrong? Why did they do this? This doesn't make any sense! (No idea who it is for but definitely not for me).

[Audiobook Version]

Realistically, this is probably a three-star book, maybe four-stars if you really enjoy this genre. While I was able to finish the book, there were so many small annoyances that I gave up on starting the second. The issues range anywhere from the slow story with unappealing characters, to the mediocre magic system. A majority of the time, I can overlook the small issues in a book or even a series. However, as my "to read/listen" list grows, there are so many other stories I would rather read than this one. I may come back to this series later.

This is a decent story, but it could use a good editor to tighten things up. There are some inconsistencies like:

Quickly I reach into my pants, but my dick is the same size. Thank God. While I was a dork, and short, I had that going for me (...)

Levesque, D.. Elemental Summoner 1: A Chakra Cultivation Portal series (p. 26). Kindle Edition.

But later this is contradicted:

I wasn’t a small guy on Earth, and it seems that God made me even bigger here on Boromour. I don’t know how big I am, but I would say easily ten or eleven inches now, with more girth.

Levesque, D.. Elemental Summoner 1: A Chakra Cultivation Portal series (p. 119). Kindle Edition.

Most of the narrative is in the current tense, which might be appropriate for a D&D session. Not so much for a novel.

Average across the board, yet good enough to continue and most likely finish the series. I’ve read a lot of similar books, and this one doesn’t do anything too special but it does read well. I’m not catching any grammatical mistakes. The big things I would like to say is that i like the MC. He isn’t the same person he was on Earth, he doesn’t want to kill but doesn’t cry when he does it. I can’t stand the complete nice guy route and this story is a blend of evil but used by goodness. Most of these books spend too much time on the magic system, the harem, and bs fantasy tropes aka everyone is evil. Focusing on progressing the story and not the characters. This story doesn’t have anything huge happen in book 1, it’s slow but corruption is there by humans. His current group is small and has an ends justify means approach.

Great fun read

A great start that lets us discover the new world the MC is in and sets out the backstory and how magic should work. The MC is a bit OP but hay God sent him there so what do you expect.

Lots of lovely elves, with other races to join I’m sure and we even get Elementals that like to be buxom elves as well, apart from Cat girls what more can you ask for....

It’ll be interesting to see the cultivation develop as there isn’t much here, except basic overview, so that will be what I’m looking for next along with some more adult shenanigans which are here but not over the top.

So download and enjoy some escapism 😁

Master of the Elements

Earth has no magic, but who's to say about other worlds.
This lucky & unlucky guy saves the day and gets killed for it, but it's not his time to go. This leaves God, yes the 1 and only, with a delema. So the best answer is to send this guys soul to another world. This world has magic. Then God can be a tricky guy too, he allows the MC to have mastery over all the elements, but doesn't explain how it works. Thats for him to figure out...
Good guy human vs evil human race. Plus he meets a beautiful elf that, well,...
The story is fun, the sex is fun, & there has to be more.
I'm on to the next book!

How the hell. Fucking hell. What the fuck. Holly shit. Holy fucking shit. Fuck. Fucking shit. This is all Alex knows. Also, the not at all annoying tact of asking the stupidest questions. The author either thinks the readers are idiots or this is just shit character writing/development.

The magic system is garbage. A middleschoolers understanding of magic has more depth than this story does. Wish it and it's done for him. Bullshit.

That also ties into the plot armor is. Dude is nothing but plot armor. Some kind of problem/obstacle in our way? No worries! Plot armor will save the day! Rinse and repeat.

Read this if you're here for the not even decent porn.

Fun enough. Some stuff overly silly bits.

I liked the book. It was fun and an extremely light read. Some things that keep me from a full 5-star review…Silliness in a world full of the far fetched. MC quickly obtains nearly limitless power and uses it to make elemental bullets and a hot tub. That combined with extremely casual writing style gives this a very rushed feeling overall. There are also enough obvious signs to point where the larger plot of the story is going.

That said, again, it was a fun story that I breezed through. I will probably see if Book 2 adds more depth - either way I don’t regret trying this one.

Your average young male working night shift goes in early only to die in a robbery .

Alex or Alexander Boston was your average working night shift clerk at a local convenience store . Going in early one evening to relieve his boss from evening shift his boss tells him to fix the bathroom sink before taking the next shift over . He does so quick eats a sandwich an drinks a drink an reads a few pages from his book waiting to actually start on time instead he goes into the front and there's a robbery in progress he tries to quiet the gunman down an gets shot for his efforts . recommend reading excellent series .

interesting start to a series

I have read a different series from this author and thought it wasn’t bad so I thought to give this series a try. This series has sex scenes unlike the other one so this one is more a harem fantasy story. Fairly interesting use of magic and chakras in this world, I will keep reading till I lose interest. The storytelling is not bad but also not hard to put down like some books. The MC is a nice guy and not prejudiced like humans in the world he finds himself in which is a plus, seen too many books recently where the MC is not a hero or a nice person which I find hard to read.

Not your typical cool under pressure op main character

This is an interesting take on a character that goes into a fantasy world that seems to think he knows what fantasy rules are about but doesn't really know about fantasy worlds. the story was fun humorous and aggravating sometimes as a character stumbles along and learns what he needs to do. I felt it was interesting and more realistic the way the character acted. There's lots of action and thought-provoking ideas as well as a good adventure and hot romance. Can't wait for the next book to come out hope it comes soon.

A Story With No Apparent Redeeming Qualities

Generic harem wish fulfillment fantasy with a first person narrative of your average incel nice-guy whose personality is an absolute void. Characters are bland and one dimensional. World building is sub-par at best. Zero sense of suspense or building tension. Nothing seems to be at stake; or more accurately nothing seems to exist that will prevent the protagonists from steamrolling any and all opposition with only the barest minimum of brain cells needing to be used.

Very interesting with a believable storyline and engaging characters

The MC is a dude going nowhere in life when he gets murdered before his time. After being summoned to another world where magic operates, he meets up with an elf finds that he is a rare mage. The story is engaging and believable as the magic theory is well constructed and sensible. The world building is also believable and the MC uses thinking and concepts of science from our world to overcome limitations on his new world.

great story

Less cursing would be nice. But all in all an enjoyable tale. As I like anime where a modern person is taken to a fantasy world this was right up my alley…is dumb questions and cursing every minute I could do without…seriously if you are from earth I feel you should be a little smarter….or maybe that’s just me…some of the questions and cursing had me rolling my eyes… but would I recommend this book for fans of this genre? Yes! I’m continuing on to the next one so that should tell you everything 😊

Simplistic but fun

Well this is an interesting new series.Total wish fulfillment. Panders to the inner geek. The MC is slightly OP but not tremendously so. However I feel the author has tried to add too many aspects at once seems a bit rushed. The characters themselves are not bad.But as usual for this genre they fall in love instantly. LOL By the end of the book we finally have a plot or at least the starting of 1. I did enjoy the little joint and will read book 2.

Lovely world set though would like other race involvement

Loved how the character was introduced into the world an shoe he progresses, but we haven’t seen much of the other races hope to see more of them in the next one instead of an educational talk, also wish to get more the layout of human hierarchy to know who keeps the racism going like a royal family or guild like the mages society.

Decent story, but very juvenile

The story has potential, but it suffers from prepubescent teenage boy syndrome. The dialogue and actions of the characters are very immature and lack anything beyond superficial descriptions. Aside from the horribly written sex scenes and a few bits of violence it might as well be on Nickelodeon. It feels like a kid cartoon with a teenager attempting to add some adult scenes in after the fact.

Good read, very entertaining but title is deceiving

Isekai’ed by God into a magical world, MC becomes able to use all the elements through the use of elementals. Zero “real” cultivation, Chakras are hardly mentioned except at the end. Super OP MC, human’s are evil slavers of all other typical fantasy races. I’m torn because I wanted a real cultivation type novel but instead got a good story instead.

I was also was warned away from this, but seeing as the last one turned out "okay", the same might apply here?

This wasn't so bad. The story was entertaining enough. I wonder how many books that I was told to avoid were just "okay", and not horrible?

Although I can see if the person has strong Christian values, they wouldn't like this book much. Probably see it as blasphemous.

I will pick up the sequel.

GREAT STORY!

I have not finished a book in years as I am not inherently a "reader". I have only recently taken up the hobby of ready for leisure and decided to download the Kindle unlimited app. I love fantasy and found this book and got hooked within 1 just one chapter! It's story is very interesting and has elements of love, racial tension, and a little bit of sensuality which I also love! Highly recommend and can't wait to read book 2!

Entertaining Read

Alex is killed in a hold up by accident. It wasn't his time to die, so he was given an option of being transported to another world that had magic. It seems that inequality and hatred was destroying the balance among the races. Alex's anger at the treatment of individuals that weren't human is tempered by the love of a beautiful elfin woman. I like the action, humor, magic, and lust/love. I look forward to the next book.

Good but editing issues

Like the story and the magic system, but it had a few glaring editing issues. At the beginning Leeha says she is not close to her family or other elves and the a little later they go to meet her parents. Then later they were fighting a Earth mage that turned into a water mage a page or two later. Then they were talking about how this was the second time the Mc had to kill but it was the third. Hopefully editing gets better.

Would have been 5 stars 🌟 but for some reason the author decided to repeat a spell over and over again so if mc wanted 5 arrows it would say you have blah blah 🤔 5x this happens every time he does a spell and it's annoying 😉 😜 so I had to do alot of fast-forwarding and eye rolling but if the author would have left that out book series is awesome 👌Plus after the first book and 1/2 of book 2 the sex scenes fade to black which I hate
