He held my gaze for precious heartbeats before taking my mouth with his. He kissed me like I was his salvation, the breath to his lungs. But little did he know, he was mine.

4.25 stars!

This was my first novel by Cassie Laelyn, and I am so glad I finally took the dive into her writing! The flow of this story was perfect and kept me interested from start to finish as Mia and Noah struggle to reconcile their young love from fifteen years ago into something with a solid foundation that can withstand all of the obstacles they must overcome in order to be together.

I loved following along their courtship as Mia slowly learns the truth about the wolf she loved as a young girl and her heritage. Noah was such a great hero; he treasured Mia from the first moment they met and simply wanted her happiness. There was plenty of swoony moments and angst, and I cannot wait to read more by Cassie ♡

LOVED Salvation 🐺

“He kissed me like I was his salvation, the breath to his lungs. But little did he know, he was mine.”

I’m pretty sure I have a crush on Noah now! 🐺

This was a well executed, believable storyline. Nothing better than angsty and beautifully written shifter novel.

Characters were spot on. Woodland Falls, was idyllic, full of imagery, sights and sounds. To write $exy scenes with such prowess was a pleasure to read.

Loved the relationship between Noah and Mia. Her childhood memories and finding her home, her place, with her fated mate. The need to protect. Perfection.

Can’t wait for the next Small Town Packs installment.

I liked this it was fairly short and not real in depth but good for all that. It had a slightly different take on werewolves.

I started reading this book and right away thought that it was shockingly familiar. For about three minutes I legit thought I was losing my mind. Then I realized that I had already read this story in the Warlords, Witches & Wolves set. I'm absolutely THRILLED that this book was released as a standalone. I loved it before and am so glad to see these characters out in the wild.

Mia and Noah are everything I love in a shifter romance! Mia and Noah first "met" when Mia was 14 years old. She spent a fateful summer at her estranged grandmother's house and then promptly vanished back in to her old life. Her summer included hanging out, sketching and befriending a lone wolf. Little did she know that she was forming an unbreakable bond at the same time! Chapter one picks up 15 years later and takes off at a break neck pace from there.

I loved the similarities between Noah and Mia in this story. They are both lone wolves for different reasons. Mia's family situation never allowed her to set down roots when she was a child. Noah thought he lost his one chance at a mate and has been a ship lost at sea ever since. Not only are Noah and Mia fated mates, but they are also ill fated due to a centuries old curse!

This story may be less than 200 pages long but it has everything you could possibly want and need in a paranormal romance!

Rating - 5/5
Steam - 4/5
POV - 1st Person Dual
Tropes - Fated Mates, Shifter Romance, Second Chance Romance, Romantic Suspense
Bonus - Epilogue that is set 3 months in the future

Fated Mates✅
Family Secrets✅
Forbidden Love✅
Shifters✅

Plot 4.5✨
Spice 3🔥

The summer Mia was forced to stay with the Grandmother she never knew she had would change her life forever. She just didn't know it. Fifteen years later Mia is back in the small town she wanted to return to but never did. She has a plan, sell her late grandmother's house, get back to the city, and use the money to pay down her debts.

Noah has accepted that he will be the lone wolf forever. The stories go you only find one fated mate in your life. Noah found his but she didn't know the wolf she fell in love with was actually a human. Then she disappeared never to be seen again. That is until he feels the familiar tug when an out-of-towner walks into his bar.

When Mia and Noah realize who each other are will they fight fate or give in?
When Noah's secrets come back to town threatening his mate will he be able to save her or is history going to repeat itself?

I adored this short story. If you, like me, are a fan of the MTV Tv show Teen Wolf this book is going to be right up your alley. My heart broke for Noah and the self-hatred he has going on due to things outside of his control. The way Mia handles the secrets was very mature and I enjoyed that. The ending gave me butterflies, made me go aww out loud and made me giddy. I will say that it wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be, but I didn't miss the spice either. I would love to have a second book dedicated to just Mia and Noah.

Salvation is the first book in Cassie Laelyn’s Small Town Packs which will regale readers with the different shifter species as the series evolves. Salvation starts us off with the Wolves of Woodland Falls and the mystery behind the fight for their small pack’s survival and Noah’s resignation that he will never again see his fated mate. 15 years have passed since Mia left her grandmother’s home, never expecting to return. But fate is a fickle thing, and after tragedy strikes, Mia is forced to face the painful memories of a summer she thought she hated, but actually impacted positively on the woman she became.

Salvation is a fast-paced, exciting and highly emotional romantic suspense, with a shifter agonising over secrets that he’s kept, and a woman’s internal turmoil over her uncertain future and the man who has captured her heart. Family plays an essential part in the storyline as they fight to protect each other and the peaceful life they crave in this calm and tranquil setting. With an entertaining plot and engaging characters portrayals, Salvation is definitely an intriguing and enjoyable start to this new series. I’m looking forward to the next addition to the series!

Salvation by Cassie Laelyn is a paranormal, second chance romance. I stayed up late to finish this story, because I couldn’t put it down!

When Mia is 14 years old, she is dropped off by her mother at her grandmother’s house in Woodland Falls and forced to spend the summer there. Feeling abandoned and alone, Mia ends up befriending a wolf that she names Thor, and spends the summer exploring the forest and spending time with him. Mia leaves Woodland Falls at the end of the summer to return home with her mother, but as the years pass she always remembers the special connection she had with the wolf. Fifteen years later, Mia is brought back to Woodland Falls under tragic circumstances. When she meets Noah, a local bartender, she immediately feels a connection with him, but she has no plans on staying in Woodland Falls long-term and doesn’t want the complications of a relationship.

Salvation is told from both Mia and Noah’s POV and I really enjoyed getting to read both sides. I don’t want to give too much away, but this story had a surprise twist that I did not see coming! I definitely recommend reading this story and I’m hoping we get even more from this world!

The Cole brothers are a pack of shifter wolves and have alliances with surrounding other shifters in nearby towns – wolves and bears – to protect one another from a curse that haunts them all and brings shifter hunters to their parts to kill them off. Noah is one of the Cole brothers and fell in love with Mia 15 years ago when they were kids and she visited her grandma in Woodland Hills. But it was only one summer and she never came back. She also never knew all the secrets of the town.

Now she’s returned with the only intention to sell her grandma’s house after she died and it was left to Mia in her will. All of the town’s secrets have to come out now because her and Noah are meant to be together. But they have a lot to deal with – like all those secrets she doesn’t know.

I loved this story SO much!! Plus I’m a huge fan of wolves and shifters in general. I really hope she writes more about these brothers and this town because I could read about each brother and their own story one after the other. There is enough interest with each person in this story that it could easily expand into so much more.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
This is part of the of the Small Town Packs series it appears each book will read as a standalone however, why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Mia is sweet, kind to most and just inherited her grandmother’s house and now headed back home to Woodland Falls and the one man she can’t forget. Noah is a sexy as all get out shifter who fell in love with the 14yr girl. Fast forward years later he has been waiting to see his Mia he can’t move forward because she was/is his fated mate. Before these two can move forward there are twist and turns so buckle up it is a wild ride, but will it end with happiness?

Noah and Mia's Second Chance . . .

When Mia Jones is 14 years old, she is literally dumped by her mother at her grandmother’s house in Woodland Falls. Her mother didn’t even introduce them! Mia would be spending the summer there. As she looked out her bedroom window, Mia saw a huge black wolf she names Thor, and spent her summer with him. She never forgot him and the special connection they formed.

Fifteen years later, Mia has to return after her grandmother dies. She meets the lawyer, Ashton Cole, at a bar. An odd feeling pulls at her, she sees the handsome bartender, Noah, and is immediately attracted to him. Ashton insisted she read the Will and she saw the stipulation. To inherit her grandmother’s house, she must stay there for the summer. Is this a chance to learn about her family history and the many secrets? When she learns about her past, can Mia break the curse? Will she discover how Noah is connected to her life?

This was a wonderful story line with great characters for the reader to get to know. Grab your copy and find out the secrets Mia discovers.

so good!

This story had an cool take on the shifter Hunter romance. I loved Noah even if he was hurting so bad with guilt and pain. He longed for his mate, who he hasn’t seen for 15 years. And he feels responsible for Joan’s death. Mia hasn’t been back to his grandmothers in 15 years when she only felt ok because she befriended a wolf. Unbeknownst to her that wolf was Noah and her mate. So many ups and downs. Learning of the witch heritage and Hunter heritage. I liked Mia but I found her annoying when she learned about the curse being activated and mating. She later came to her senses in regards to logic about Noah taking her choices away. He tried but it was a heat of the moment deal with the mating. She was just as responsible. So she was so mean in respect of making him feel guilty over it and placed blame only on him. But the curse wasn’t his fault either. He did what he did in order to save her life consent wasn’t an option. Good story. Loved the ending.

Mia was dumped at her grandmother’s house for the summer at 14, where she met a wolf, she felt a connection with. Fifteen years later, she lives in the city but came back to Woodland Falls to claim her grandmother’s estate. She has to stay the summer to claim the full inheritance, then she would put it up for sale. Noah is a wolf shifter who had found his mate 15 years prior but did nothing about it. Now, Mia is in the bar talking to him and looking for his brother to explain the terms of the will. When she feels connected to him, she has no clue what she is in for and the truth of how her grandmother died. When Noah finally reveals he is a shifter, everything will change~ The many secrets that will be revealed will be too much for her to handle…especially when a curse brings hunters to their door. What will happen? What is the curse and secrets? Will Noah and her survive whatever comes their way?

Yep, I love reading series in the wrong order.

I started book 2 first, but circled back to book 1 the moment I finished.

Cassie really knows what my heart wants. Angsty, second chance shifter romances. Plot, some spice, tension you feel down to your bones.

My only wish is that these books would be longer. There's no way I'm ready to say goodbye after such a short time. I need more, way more of these characters.

I absolutely loved Noah and Mia. The fact that he pined after her for 15 years. 15. YEARS. He never forgot her. And I get she's his mate and there's no forgetting your mate, but still... Way to make me swoon.

And Mia. Oh my. She's so much more than we expected, so much more than she expected of herself. I loved seeing her grow, gain confidence and learn of her powers.

These two really had a special connection. The trust between them, the love, it really amazed me.

Cassie sure gained a loyal fan. I'm hooked.

From start to finish I did not want to put Salvation down.

Fated mates, Fantasy Romance this book was amazing. When Mia was 14, her mum dropped her on the doorstep at her Grandmas house for the summer. Mia saw a lone wolf through her window and the connection was instant.
15 years later after having never been back, she inherits her Grandmothers house with the condition she must stay for the Summer. Mia was not planning on any of this. Then she meets Noah Cole the local Bar Owner. The connection is instant and feels like she has known him forever.
When she finds out Noah’s secret and he also has another secret but it’s about Mias family history. It becomes a choice of love or Curse.

I absolutely love all the characters in this book. I instantly fell in love with both Mia and Noah. The tension and connection between then was written beautifully.
I cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

This was such a sweet story, and the perfect length to read in one day.

Fated Mates can be such a hard thing to wrote, and I think Cassie did an amazing job. The fact that Mia & Noah had met previously 15 years prior and don't immediately realize when they come back together made it much more believable. They had the undeniable pull of the bond, but it was more subtle and allowed them to fall in love more organically and seemed less forced.

The background plot added to the overall story without feeling too extra. I never felt like I was reading 2 books at once, which was really nice.

I definitely wish there had been a little more spice, but that's personal preference and didn't effect my rating at all. I'm already downloading the next book in the series and can't wait to read more about small town packs.

After the death of her estranged grandmother, Mia Jones travels back to the place where she had felt at home with her friended wolf. Discovering she must live in her grandmother’s house for the summer to be eligible to keep it legally, she’s tempted to give the place up and go back to her life.
She meets the local sexy bartender Noah Cole, and sparks fly. Will she pick Noah and leave her old life behind, or will she stay and live in her grandmother’s house and learn about her family history and secrets. Can Mia break the curse hovering over her, or will she become Noah’s enemy instead of his mate?
Great storyline, characters, and an enjoyable read to keep you entertained and turning each page. Another fabulous read by the talented author, Cassie Laelyn. Recommended.

This was my first time reading this author and I'm so glad I did. Salvation is a second chance romance with a PNR twist. Set around a pack of wolf shifters, Mia and Noahs story starts alittle differently, they meet when she's 14 only she has no idea the wolf she befriends is actually her destined mate, when she leaves suddenly Noah is left longing for what could have been.

This book keeps a good pace and holds the reader completely captivated as we travel the journey with these two destined mate. Magic, danger and truths all wrap around each other in this delectable world. I can't wait to continue with book 2.

Salvation was originally a part of the Warlords, Witches & Wolves: A Fantasy Realms Anthology but it has now been released as the first book in the Small Town Packs series by Cassie Laelyn.

This book is narrated from the dual POV of Mia and Noah. The story takes place in Woodland Falls and follows the journey of Mia who returns to the place where she spent a summer with her grandmother Joan. When Mia finds out the truth about who she really is will she be able to break the ancient curse or will fate run its course?

What follows is a powerful story of loss, love and self discovery. A second chance, an unbreakable fated bond and drool worthy scenes featuring a hot male shifter.

This was my first novel by Cassie Laelyn, and I am so glad I took the chance and read this book! This story was perfectly paced, well written and had characters that you could “see” and “feel”; as well as having a world that jumped of the page and created a movie for me to watch as I read. That is the mark of a well written book.

This is a lovely story of star-cross lovers who must risk it all to find each other. I enjoyed Mia and Noah’s efforts to reignite their young love from fifteen years ago and turn it into something that can stand the test of time and adulthood! This novella is full of action, adventure and, of course, love!

I enjoyed this book. This is the first time I have read a book from this Author. The storyline was different then a lot of current shifter books. The only problem was the background of the story was not fully developed. It is hard figuring out exactly what and who the hunters and witches are and how they related to the story. MIA just excepts that there are shifters, hunters and witches in the world immediately and she is not scared or doesn't question was a little strange. I loved the Cole brothers. They were fun and the characters are well developed. This is a good easy summer read.

After reading this book I had to take a little time to compose myself and get my thoughts clear in my head before I put them in a review.
Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.

This is the first book in this series Wolves of Woodland and it will hold your attention. The story is about Noah a wolf shifter and the human that he loves. Mia is back after 15 years and is drawn to Noah and is not too sure why at first. She doesn't realize that the wolf she befriended all those years ago was actual Noah a wolf shifter. This is their journey to understanding their past, present and future together. The connection between these two is amazing. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

Mia Jones’ desire to close off ties from her past become unravelled when she meets Noah Cole. She can’t help but feel she’s met him somewhere before. But the revealed memory triggers a secret and unveils a horror neither Mia nor Noah expected. And it seems no matter what she does, Mia’s cursed to fail.

This is the first of a new series by Ms Laelyn that brings with it all the heat and passion you’ll find in her Fallen Guardians series, and this book is every bit as nail-biting. Pun so intended. Can’t wait for the next in the series.

Beautiful Sexy Love Story

I gave this book 5 stars because it was such a great read. I think anyone who likes paranormal/shifter romance would enjoy it and want more of Mia and Noah! Of course, there is some "heat" and very sexy times that one would also have to enjoy! However, I personally found it very tasteful! I just wished for more! The wedding, maybe some future children, maybe a visit from Mia's Mom... I am sure that once I have a chance, I will read more by this author!!!

Spice rating: 1 star
Entertainment: 1 star
Plot: flat line (there’s no climax)

This book is literally a punch-buggy wearing a Ferrari skin. It could’ve been an awesome paranormal romance fantasy but it’s just a gross disappointment. The author concocted this amazing, unique conflict of a hunters curse and then spent 188 pages having two people who have known each other for 1 week question if they should be together or not. This is not fantasy or action or even really romance, it’s just two horny people who only sleep together once then question themselves for the rest of the book.
