Join scholar and spell-caster Everson Croft in this five-book urban fantasy set, from the discovery of his magic in the prequel novella, Book of Souls, to his battle against a mind-warping evil in the shocking finale, Death Mage.
Who is Professor Croft?
If he sat beside you on the subway, you might notice his disheveled coat and burnt satchel, but you’d have no idea he was New York’s hardest-working mage (or that his cat talked). Never properly trained, he's been learning on the job. Outwitting vampires, wrestling werewolves, banishing powerful demons - all while holding down a teaching gig. But wizarding is in his blood, and he’ll do whatever it takes to protect his dysfunctional city, even if he mashes a few toes along the way. Watch your feet.
This value set features the first four novels and the prequel novella in the spell-crackling Prof Croft series: Book of Souls, Demon Moon, Blood Deal, Purge City, and Death Mage. Your ticket to magic and mayhem awaits!

Brad Magnarella writes urban fantasy for the same reason most read it – to explore worlds where magic crackles from fingertips, vampires and shifters walk city streets, cats talk (some excessively), and good prevails against all odds. It’s shamelessly fun.
His three main series, Prof Croft, Blue Wolf, and Maddy Deeds, make up the growing Croftverse, with nearly a half-million books sold to date and an Independent Audiobook Award nomination.
Hopelessly nomadic, Brad can be found in a rented room overseas or hiking America's backcountry.

The Prof Croft Series Books 0.5-4 By Brad Magnarella I had read the first two books already and it was cheaper to buy the set than buy the set then the rest of the books separately. I loved this series. It has all kinds of creatures, action, humor, great characters, humor, and clever plots. Truly enjoyable.
Kind of unimpressed with the prof. Each book seems to having a starting pattern. He gets into a fight with a rando creature and eveeeeerything after he is literally getting his ass kicked at every turn. Maybe prof needs to take some self defense classes and not the kind he stands there to take a beating and bor readers.
Amazing set of books!! Full of adventure, intrigue, magic, mystery, a bit of mayhem, lots of witty dialogue between the characters and tons of fun. I was badly hooked from the first book I read in this set, The Book of Souls. Professor Croft is a young guy that is new to the world and wonders of magic. He has an impressive magical pedigree. Learning about his family background is one of the most intriguing parts of the set. He has a very snarky cat that has the soul of a succubus trapped in it. He whips up his own potions and spells in his apartment. He assists the police in solving crime and saves humans from demons and other magical entities that are out to cause trouble. I've read each of these books multiple times and am awaiting book 9 of this series, so there is plenty of binge worthy material to read until that next book in the series that will be coming out soon.
This set includes a prequel and 4 books about Professor Croft... and Tabitha! Many side characters weave their way into each story, but Tabatha is my favorite! So many plot twists that I didn't see coming and, from an avid reader, that's a feat! A fun journey that still has several books to go, an introduction to a spin-off series, phenomenal story telling, and tacos! These stories are fun, engaging, and paranormal mystery and intrigue. Love them all! Pick up this box set if you want the value of having 5 books in 1, a great price, and an engrossing read.
What can I say, I am a sucker for this kind of story. It is somewhere in the direction of the Harry Dresden stories without being the same. The stories are generally entertaining with interesting characters and pretty good plots. Don't expect any ground breaking in this series about a NY wizard who is starting out somewhat under a cloud with bad guy vampires, down to earth (yes the pun) goblins, a talking cat, elves, a wizardly order, etc. But is is fun and I am reading the series just finishing the next four books right now.
Croft is an interesting character, he's not a cardboard cutout hero, he has faults, he makes mistakes but he's determined to solve the case and do the right thing. The story moves along at a fast pace, with Croft finding trouble at every turn. He learns from his mistakes, and as the books progress he learns more of his trade, without that annoying power jump some main characters sometimes do.
I just finished book 9, and thought I would come back to leave a review for the whole series currently avaliable. Well written and not just relying on the typical trope of the genre. Lots of twists and turns in the series, and I relate to tabitha the succubus cat so much! Now to wait for book 10...
I picked this up after reading two short stories about Professor Drift and Tabitha. This was a bit difficult to read at times because it felt like an over load, but I kept reading and seeing the plot twists. I have the next book waiting in the wings for when I'm not over indulged on the good Professor.
I read the series and the character of Croft unfolds in each book. At the end he meets his father, finds out about his mother, the order, learns Thor secrets about his Grandfather. All and all he saves the world with help from his friends. It was a great story with many twists and turns as well as surprises.
I was somewhat leery of reading this just based off of Facebook's ads. However, I was terribly surprised. It was a good read with intricate details and some laughter. The character dynamics were very rounded out. If you use your imagination when reading like I do, it was as if I were there. Netflix needs to adapt this into an adult animation.
The Professor Croft series is one of my favorites in Urban Fantasy and this box set provides an opportunity to pick up the first four volumes plus the prequel at an outstanding value. If you haven't gone on an adventure with the good Professor now is the perfect opportunity.
The absent minded professor who is also an awesome mage! Jump into a wonderful world of magic and mayhem in this amazing series! Meet a succubus cat, ancient vampires, and all sorts of magical beings. This is an awesome series and I highly recommend it!!
Prof. Croft is a wizard in search of a life. It’s crazy, all the stuff he goes thru. Read this, it’ll make you read until you get thru it all. So much for sweeping the floor and doing dishes this weekend!
Love this series from beginning to end, the alt universe is great, characters compelling and the plot twists grow on you as they do the main man himself. This series is a fun read and so glad I found another fab author tell me stories 😀
What I liked the most is how much Croft comes across as a real person. He's instantly likeable and must always be doing something. The plot is excellent and the twist outstanding. I will definitely read the next box set.
Really loved this whole series and can't wait for more. A wonderful story of monsters, demons, and other magical creatures with a believable hero who can make mistakes but doesn't give up. Go Prof!!
Sorry not for me I thought I would !I've liked this but truthfully I could not get into the story, not sure if it's the writing sty!e but just wasn't for me.
a very long build up for a poorly written harry dresden rip off. same snarky wizard under death threat, same cop that wants the truth. same bad love life... not bad just written better by jim butcher
I enjoyed the Dresden files and this was also good, with some differences only in the small things, but at least Croft does not have a phobia about hurting women.
