In her most personal cookbook yet, the New York Times bestselling author of Cravings shares food that will bring you joy and comfort—with a little help from her one-of-a-kind family.
Chrissy Teigen has always found a big sense of fun in the kitchen, but more than ever, she turns to the stove for comfort and warmth. Now Chrissy shares the recipes that have sustained her and her family, the ones that made her feel like everything is going to be okay. Recipes for Cozy Classic Red Lentil Soup, ingenious Chrissy signatures like Stuffed PB&J French Toast and puff pastry–wrapped Meatloaf Wellington, and family favorites like her mom Pepper’s Thai-style Sloppy Joes and John’s Saturday-morning Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes will have you feeling like you’re pulling up a chair to her table.
Chrissy Teigen is known as many things–host of Lip Sync Battle on MTV, bestselling author, Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model, spouse to John Legend, star of Instagram (16.8M) and Twitter (10.3M), but all she really wants to talk about is dinner.
Lots of uninteresting recipes of what is basically junk food that honestly don't look or sound that appetizing. I own and like her other two books and while her whole schtick is cravings, guilty pleasures, and comfort food, some of the recipes are just excessive. Her mashed potatoes call for half a cup of heavy cream, a whole stick of butter, and cheese. Of course that will taste great but it also seems really unnecessary. And then the healthier recipes that are sprinkled in sound either gross or boring. Nothing in this is exciting.
This also feels a lot less cohesive than her other two books. The recipe choices seem a bit random and the cuisines are all over the place. She also includes recipes from her Mom's book, which feels a bit lazy even though she claims she tweaked them. Too many recipes by John as well - make him write his own book.
And finally, I HATE the cover and would never buy this book because of it. Nobody eats tacos like that. Nobody. Petty, but I don't care. I hate it. Looks like she's going for one of those gross "cheese pull" things that mukbangers do. EAT YOUR FOOD NORMALLY.
All in all: disappointing and glad I borrowed it from the library. Not her best, not the worst cookbook ever, but I'm thankful I didn't spend any money on it.
Chrissy’s first two cookbooks were actually really great but you can tell she’s started to lose steam with these. these are more simple recipes but they feel more like cop outs and rushed because she wanted/needed to put another book out. i’d rather her have spent more time developing more unique recipes
Its here! My copy of Chrissy's Cravings: All Together arrived yesterday in the mail - delivered on publishing day, because who could possibly wait a minute longer?
Upon initial inspection, the new book is quirky and colorful in design; including heartwarming pictures of family, 70's inspired font and hand drawn pictures of oozy eggs and produce of all kinds. Gone are the pristine and cool tones of Cravings and Hungry for More - as much as we loved them. That's not all that's changed, the contents page also looks distinctly different with significantly more mains this go around. RIP 'Thai Mom' and the sandwich section from book two, you will be dearly missed.
As with Chrissy's previous two cookbooks, I intend to spend an entire year cooking from All Together - posting individual recipe ratings below. Additionally! We intend on revisiting as many recipes as possible from the first two Cravings books in 2022 - I will be adding revised ratings here as well and including a "which was better" note for those recipes that are directly comparable.
More than ever, All Together seems to focus on family and family foods. My husband and I are very excited to be jumping into a full year of flavor explosions - discovering new and revisiting old favorites - as we start our family in 2022.
If you're interested in my previous two reviews, I've provided links below:
I docked a star because there wasn't very many recipes I actually wanted to try. But there is something about Chrissy's cookbooks that make me read them cover to cover. Great pictures. Entertaining, often funny stories about each recipe.
4 stars as this was a lot of either very basic recipes or ones recycled from previous books but with a twist. However, I do love the little blurbs she puts before each recipe. It really shows how much she loves what she does. I do agree that this is her most personal as you can tell she was still full in her grief over the loss of her son. But another book where I can't wait to try so many new recipes out!
Chrissy really makes a very pretty cookbook…. And craveable is the best way to describe her recipes…. The photos and fun stories with each one, just make me want to cook these for a crowd.
This cookbook is uninspired and not cohesive at all. The cookbook has beautiful photographs of the food. The recipes are easy to follow. But there isn't anything cohesive about the cookbook. This is a mishmash of random recipes that Chrissy Teigen may make at her house. Some of the flavors are delicious, some not so much.
As far as cookbooks go, it's not one I would end up buying (checked it out of library,) because despite liking most of the food I did make, I like cookbooks that are more themed than just so random.
I tried: - Turkey, Mushroom, & Pepperoncini Tator Tot Hot Dish - this recipe was good - Citrus & Burrata Caprese - this recipe was very flavorful and good, though I did replace the burrata with mozzarella - Lamb & Feta Smashburgers - best recipe I made - Grilled Pork Chops with Old-School Marbella Sauce - this one was not great. I didn't use much of the sauce because I disliked it.
Full of food I really want to try! The style is different from her first two and has a lot more recipes from other people, which ended up being pretty interesting.
I love Chrissy Teigen’s recipes. I now have all three of her cookbooks, and I see that her mom has one out now too that I will have to get! Her first book, Cravings, is my favorite. This one has many delicious recipes. Her blurbs are always humorous, and she gives easy to follow instructions. My favorite in this book so far is Skillet Chicken Marsala with Cauliflower Gnocchi and Spinach on page 173.
I loved her first cookbook, and really liked her second. But there are only two recipes in this one I’m at all interested in trying. The rest are either too similar to her previous recipes, too obviously thrown together for this cookbook, or just plain do not seem like they would taste good. I was excited about this cookbook and expected it to run in a similar vein to her previous ones, but, at least in my opinion, it falls way flat.
No surprise - my first review and first book I read cover to cover in 2022 is a cookbook!
I was so excited to see this book discounted to 50% off in an after Christmas sale at Barnes and Noble when we stopped by "just to look" yesterday! What a deal!
I love Chrissy Teigen's first two Cravings cookbooks. We have a few recipes that are in regular rotation from them - eg. her Sweet Chili Mustard Glazed Salmon, the Parmesan Minestrone with wagon wheel pasta, the sweet potato gnocchi, her Chicken Cobb Salad (my absolute favorite salad!). I actually sat down and added some recipes we hadn't tried from her first 2 cookbooks to the menu for the next month at the end of last year!
Naturally, as soon as I got home I dove right into reading through these recipes, and drooling over all of the food photos. The food photographers are so incredibly gifted- I felt like I could practically taste the food from looking at them!
This book was more focused than Teigen's previous two installments, this time around the theme of "comfort food." It read like the cookbook I wish I had during the height of lockdown: recipes for carby goodness to cure the soul, hearty, warm soups, recipes for various types of takeout that I had been missing.
This installment also boasts more recipes that are closer to that magical 30-minute mark. Yes, there are still some that take longer (mostly noted as being marinating time, I was pleased to see) but I can definitely see using the majority of reipes in this cookbook for more weeknight cooking in our house.
We live where we are blessed with access to a variety of different ethnic grocery stores and fresh produce - I think it is important to note, if you are considering this cookbook, that if you are from an area were you can't find some more "exotic ingredients" like lemon grass skewers, there are a couple of recipes that you may have a hard time recreating from this book - but overall, I think they are fairly accessible!
5 stars because I received a signed copy. -1 because most of these recipes aren't original. Some of them are so basic I could do better. Some of them are John's or Yai's (I know, that's normal), and many are recycled from previous books. There are only a handful of recipes I'm looking forward to trying as opposed to the whole book as before. Beyond that, the tone of the recipe blurbs are completely different. I missed Chrissy's wit! Usually her stories are hilarious but there's a somber tone in this book. It makes me wonder if she was forced to throw this book together while she is still grieving the loss of her son. I hope she finds the healing she needs. I love this family so much so my review is completely biased. If I had to rate it honestly, I'd give it a 3. There simply aren't enough special or original recipes in here and I'm so disappointed. Yes, they leaned into the comfort side of food but to the expense of cravings. I look forward to special and unique recipes from Chrissy and they just aren't here. Back to her blog I go.
Good photographs and personal connection to each recipe included.

I have all of her other cookbooks and they are extraordinary! Super delicious -not very healthy- comfort food.
Sadly, this one is just not what I hoped. I mean, I guess a one point (or rather at one book) you run out of good recipes.
Here's my issues:
-Now, I'm a little biased, but there is so much seafood. I do not like seafood. Seafood makes me sad.
- One of the recipes (it covers at least 2 pages) is a recipe from her mom's book. Which I mean, good marketing for the family. But really? Reused recipes?
- If you do decide you like seafood (ick), you have to worry about the expensive types of fish she uses. There are lobster dishes, scallops, and caviar, oh my! Very pricey book, very pricey food.
Okay, you read my review, you don't mind the things I mind, then perfect! This is a great cookbook! For you, anyway. I'm going to stick to her (much more favorable) other books.
This cookbook is beautiful and delightful. Reading it really brightened my day.
Here is what I tried: 🔹Beef Stroganoff- the steak was super flavorful after being marinated in garlic, gf soy sauce, and fish sauce! It somehow tasted beefier than other stroganoff recipes I’ve tried and I bet it was all that umami she added! 🔹#potato-leek-soup- leeks make potato cheese soup better. Now I know! They add a pleasant bitterness makes the flavor much more complex. 🔹John’s Perfect Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes- I’ll be honest- these are pretty average. But she’s got a decadent blueberry pancake recipe in Cravings 2 so this is a good alternative. 🔹Baked Pasta With Ham & Peas- this was my favorite! That sauce was so creamy and comforting. I couldn’t stop eating it!
I knew as soon as I saw the dedication to Jack (the baby Teigen and Legend lost) that this book was going to deliver. I laughed, I cried, I got really hungry. It focuses on comforting foods and Chrissy's blurbs are, as always, refreshingly honest and funny. We've pretty much all been in the same lonely, boring boat during the COVID pandemic and cooking provides a great way to escape as the sourdough/banana bread crazes showed. There were TONS of recipes I've marked to make. Both of Chrissy's previous cookbooks have things that are now staples in our home and I'm looking forward to seeing what wins out in this one!
Another great cookbook from Chrissy Teigen! It is full of delicious recipes and fantastic detailed pictures. I love a cookbook with photos. Chrissy writes the notes in her vernacular. There are also notes and recipes from other family members, including John. One criticism is that the font used in the chapter titles and recipe titles is difficult to read. And the language is salty in parts. But I've made several meals out of here and mashed up a few to make them my own, and everything has been successfully delicious.
Maybe it’s preemptive to give a cookbook 5 stars without trying a recipe. But this is my third Chrissy Teigen cookbook and I bet my paycheck it’s going to be a home run book like the others. I mean Orange Chicken Sandwich?! A giant creme brûlée? Cookie butter? White pizza? Yeah pretty sure it’s all going to be amazing and am glad I have this book in my permanent collection. Also noticed there’s a lot more veggies in this one so I can’t wait to give it a go as I’m trying to incorporate more green things in my diet this year.
I loved the concept of/focus on comfort food at the forefront of this cookbook. Yes, many of us have been craving comfort food during the pandemic!
Teigen's sense of humor absolutely comes through here--as does a fair bit of language, and that put me off pretty quickly.
I did enjoy the pictures of her family throughout, and the recipes look appetizing. Buuut I won't be in a rush to add it to my permanent bookshelf; a library checkout was just fine. The recipes are more "splurgy" than everyday--which, again, is fine and totally has its place--I just wouldn't use it that often.
I own all of her coolbooks now and I still think her second book is the best book. This one has some great holiday sides/fancy dinner night dishes though, especially enjoyed the potatoes and dinner rolls this Christmas. I'd say if you're gonna buy one of her cookbooks for the fun, delicious, this-shouldn't-taste-this-good recipes then buy Cravings: Hungry for More. This one is a good standby if you need some inspo for dishes you already know how to cook or want to add onto an existing recipe.
I love to sit down and read the introductions to each of Chrissy’s recipes! That’s how I justified marking this as a book I read this year, because I really did read it! My first quick flip through at the bookstore wasn’t super convincing, maybe 3 or 4 things I want to try, but when I took the time to study this book I marked at least a third of the recipes that I need to make!
Beautiful pictures. The recipes are a little rich for me. But I love the family photos of Chrissy and John legend. I hope they stay married forever! Love them!
I love reading the recipe intro. She’s so real and I feel like I’m getting a glimpse into her real life. Celebs are just like us.
Didn’t make any recipes though. But loved reading the book.
This is Chrissy Teigans 3rd cookbook and it is full of basic and simple recipes to prepare for your family. Some of the recipes sound yummy...spicy crab dip, broccoli salad, meat loaf wellington.....and some sounded yucky! Lovely photos of the food and her family. I enjoyed the little details about her family life , would have liked more along that line. A good cookbook !

Oooh yes I’ll make quite a few of these. I’ve read too many cookbooks lately that are more diet conscious (meh)... I can always count on Cravings to give me the real deal. However, compared to the first two books, there aren’t quite as many recipes I’m dying to make.
