If I can get Tyrant (yes, that’s actually his name) to stop laying waste to his enemies for a moment, I might be able to decide if boiling hot space oil is a combat deductible or an entertainment expense.
I’m on contract with him until we can sort his Galactic tax debt.
He seems to think he owns me.
And that’s just the start of a series of miscommunications (you don’t even want to know what he does with red tape) which leads me to his battle bed, where he is just as rough and intense as he is on the battlefield.
Amazon Top 100, USA Today bestselling, and #1 bestselling author in multiple Amazon categories, Loki Renard writes sizzling hot, occasionally dark and twisted stories of dominance, submission and discipline.
2.5 stars - OK, this is one of the more fun, campy books I've read in a while, and if the tone had been a little more consistent, I think I would have loved this. This is an *actual* accountant (not a TikTok accountant) for an alien warrior king, and that is just an amazing premise. I think if this had leaned into the silliness a bit more, it would have been a home run. Not disappointed I read it
I so loved this book, and honestly i love all of these alien books from this author they are sooooo hot. Tania has been called into the office, and has been given the opportunity to work for an alien king as his accountant. Not really believing that there are aliens and this whole thing is a joke ,she is rudely woken up at 4am in the morning by a big Alien, demanding she hurry and that she is alright as she is..... unshaved legs and all which the alien tells her is sexy....(lol) On board the ship Tania is amazed making beds out of nothing, but when she tries she makes a big hole in the ceiling, and this earns her a punishment from the sexy king. But after she does the Taxes what happens next.. she is in love with the King and she is sure her boss is trying to kill her.!!!
Honestly readers if you love these wonderful stories from Loki then you will definitely love this one... i just cant wait till the next one comes out!!!
I have to admit that this is the first story I have read where one of the characters is an accountant. Loki's Royal Aliens series is a one-of-a-kind series that I couldn't put down. Although this story is the last one- I hope not forever- I highly enjoyed it.
As usual with Loki expect lots of hot sex, misunderstanding, hot alien-fighting, and a human that doesn't know what she wants. But in the end, gets the love of her life.
I wish I could give 3.5 review because that is what I would give this latest installment of the series. This book reads a lot like a romcom. It has a very unique premise- one I have not seen before. An alien king, that really sounds more like a space conqueror, has to file his taxes. And of course he needs an accountant. I was definitely intrigued on how the author was going to develop this story and it was surprisingly entertaining. Tyrant is the name of the alien king and Tania is the human female accountant assigned to straighten out his accounting books. The story has the typical attraction between alien male and human female but what is new is the whole concept of accounting. I never thought I would read an alien SFR that would include an element of accounting. Tyrant and Tania have a carnal attraction and once they get going- it gets pretty hot. Tania has her moments where she was sassy and empowering- standing her ground here and there. Overall, I enjoyed reading the story. I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review.
She takes a handful of disparate ideas, shakes them in a Yahtzee cup, and then throws the whole thing against a wall. Whatever sticks to the wallpaper and then flips her off, she writes about. I assume.
Want your eight foot tall primordial representation of war with a dash of small human and intergalactic taxes? Read on, brave soul. Want to see a tax preparer, especially this time of year, spanked and then railed? Read this while you wait at H&R Block! This book is bonkers in all the best way, and Loki Renard does not pussy(heh)foot around with the sexy times. The sex is smoking hawt, the lead is also hawt, and the slippers are Snoopy.
OMG, there are times, especially like now when I've been reading one of Loki Renard's books, that I'd love to spend even one hour in her brain to see where she comes up with all this!!! 'The Alien Warrior King's Accountant' is deliciously HOT and absolutely hysterical all rolled up in action, war, a romance, and of course, taxes. I can't even give you a synopsis of the story without giving anything away, so it's just easier for me to tell you this is a must read. The chemistry, the levity, the misnomers, even the name of the characters are so out there it just makes the whole thing so worthwhile. I loved this and can't wait to read "Bad Alien Boss" to see what she brings to this next.
I love how Loki Renard takes your standard alien abduction romance and pumps it up with some fantastic wordsmithing. I think my new favourite phrase is “sinfully unproductive”. Add that to a great story line with an unexpected ending, and you have the makings of the immensely entertaining novel.
The author starts this story with steam galore and it only heats up from there. But that’s not all. Nope she created this fantastic tale that I absolutely enjoyed. The concept of an alien tax agency and a human accountant who has to navigate a big new world had me hooked from the beginning. I love the characters and the way they connected throughout, and the ending is something you won’t want to miss. This really was a fantastic book and I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the series.
When I read the synopsis for this book, I thought it sounded really fun and interesting! An accountant who needs to file the taxes of an alien warrior king who lays siege to enemies and wages war throughout his rule. I found it so funny even aliens need to pay taxes. (Is no species safe?!)
Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this book. Some parts I loved, some parts I found very confusing or disjointed, and some parts I absolutely did not like.
Tania is a tax accountant living during the pandemic when her boss gives her a new assignment- to file the taxes of an alien warrior king. She thinks he's having some kind of nervous breakdown and agrees just to humor him. To her shock, the following morning King Tyrant himself is banging on her apartment door. He's an 8-footish tall scaled, shark-like alien who Tania is immediately attracted to. My favorite part of his description is, "He doesn't have hair, but he isn't bald. Instead of bothering with hair, his skull sweeps up into a sharp fin type arrangement." Tyrant's personality is arrogant, of course, but the description of his skull not even bothering with hair is such a great tie-in to that. He insists on immediately leaving to his ship, and she is very self conscious as she's only wearing a stained oversize t-shirt, men's boxers, and unshaved legs. I mention her reaction to her appearance because it becomes relevant to her mental state later.
My favorite part of the book- the alienness. In some alien romance stories, everything is pretty recognizable, minus the aliens themselves, plant life, infrastructure designs, etc. The atmosphere of the ship felt alien. The ship is very large, and walls and corridors seem to shift and change constantly. Doors appear and disappear. People walk through the walls. They hover through areas on floating pads. Items and even food can be literally pulled into existence out of thin air. There are rooms that can be constructed into anything simply by willing it. And I loved that the technology seemed to be completely incompatible with humans as Tania was knocked off the hover pad, almost broke her nose against a wall instead of going through it, and damaged her room trying to create it. It's an aspect of the book that I found very refreshing.
Things that were confusing: the technology that was incompatible with humans, somehow began to work for Tania after a while; the explanation was that she was changing simply by being there. She could walk through walls and use the transport fliers like a "native." But we don't actually see any of these changes happening. We are just told so in Tyrant's thoughts.
Another thing that was confusing was the concept of time. I couldn't tell if she'd been somewhere for days, or weeks. It wasn't until once scene that I learned she'd been on the ship 2 weeks. But the whole book before that was a complete guess. And the characters didn't seem to have any concept of time themselves. In one scene halfway through Tania's work, she is told that the deadline would be "in a matter of days, perhaps hours." What? That's a big difference. And Tania immediately panics because she's "not even halfway ready" and declares she will work even harder. At which point Tyrant immediately seduces her into having sex and on the very next page after "an indeterminant amount of time later" she finished the work, it is all in order, and triple checked all while being interrupted for sex throughout. Is she some kind of superwoman, meant to be perfect at her job, or was the sudden announcement and panic about running out of time suddenly meaningless? Three pages later she wants to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of her room and complains that it was changed, saying the tax collector must be hours or days away (back to that again?), but which she is told he's been already waiting there for a week. It just felt all over the place.
I found the characters completely disjointed and unbelievable (and unlikable) at times. Tania and Tyrant's interactions are almost always involving sex or sexual acts. The first time was called a punishment for accidentally damaging his ship shortly after arriving- which wasn't consensual but then the heroine started to enjoy it so that apparently made it okay. Once she realized he was going to penetrate her, she thought "There is an inevitability about this moment, almost as if I was created expressly for this defilement, my entire nature limited and designed for him." And after it's over, "In the aftermath of orgasm, I am humiliated. He gave me little choice in what happened to me, but I cannot deny that I wanted it as badly as he did. The moment he touched me, I surrendered myself physically and mentally."
I found it an immediate turn off that just because she found him attractive, she felt like he owned her now and she surrendered everything of herself to him and wanted it that way. That it was 'meant to be.' There is no emotional buildup. No learning who each other was. Only lust and attraction. There are parts where Tania wants to be with him more than anything, and yet readily admits she doesn't know who he is or what he's like. In a chapter from Tyrant's point of view, he suddenly admits to himself that he loves her, after only a few sex-oriented interactions. It surprised me enough to make me stop reading for a moment because it came out of nowhere. This would have felt a lot more enjoyable and believable if they had some non-sexual intimate scenes interacting and getting to know each other.
Minor *spoiler* (maybe)- there is one part of the book when she is away from Tyrant and wants nothing more in life than to be back with him. Literally, the world holds no meaning or interest for her. Everything is dirty and disgusting. Food doesn't taste good, clothes are uncomfortable. Suddenly everything about earth feels horrible and archaic. I mentioned her embarrassment over her pjs when she was first taken to the ship earlier in this review. At one point she goes to work wearing one slipper, one trainer, and plaid pajama pants beneath her business shirt and doesn't notice until her boss points it out. So she suddenly doesn't care what she looks like (because she still stays at work and doesn't seem to react to the revelation about her clothes) or is so far gone she doesn't notice. It was explained as depression, but it felt like the character was having a complete breakdown and her actions/desires are sometimes completely nonsensical for a smart educated adult. Completely unable to function after two weeks of going through 7 years' worth of an alien's taxes under an alien tax system with lots of sex mixed in and life before that it suddenly alien. "Did I ever actually like the Earth? Or was I just born here and therefore felt obligated to stay, like a bad relationship. With a planet." It felt like the author was trying super hard to make everything that this person ever was, felt, dreamed of, aspired to, or could possibly experience in the entire world worth nothing and meaningless apart from being with Tyrant.
I don't like the tone of the sex in this book. The scenes where it was unwanted (at least at first until the sex started and then it was apparently all good), punishing someone (by having sexy with them) for anything that was deemed punishable whether it was wanted or not, and I found the second punishment- the public one- horrific in spite of the heroine somehow enjoying it.
The plot was good, if easily resolved. I think the only character I liked- shockingly- was Terrible. Who was a complete asshole and I wished I could punch in the face most of the time. But he made scenes interesting. I want to see him either meet his match, get his arrogance knocked down a bit, or just grow into a better person. That there'll be a sequel centered around him, is enough to keep me invested to read it.
For me the book is a hit or miss depending on what you like. I did enjoy parts/aspects of it in spite of the things I didn't like, and I did finish reading the whole book. Give it a try if you're not as picky as me. But if you are, maybe this is a pass.
“I am Tyrant, King of Apocalypse. Ender of worlds. Destroyer of empires. And you… are my accountant.”
This is another edition of Ms. Renard's sci-fi erotic books. At this point, there are so many and they feature the same broad narrative outlines (powerful male alien takes ordinary human female and smexy times ensue) that I can't keep the series straight. Here, we learn that the US's April 15th tax deadline is apparently true for all countries planets as accountant Tania is summoned by King Tyrant (nice redundancy) to help him file seven years' worth of returns.
This is one of the author's sweeter romances and includes her usual erotic scenes, snarky prose, social satire (the alien IRS is called DICK), social commentary (COVID's depressive effects), and a very likable heroine. Personally, I wish Ms. Renard would restrain herself from throwing everything (including the kitchen sink) into her plots so that we could spend more time with the MC (I can't tell you, for example, what Tania looks like). Otherwise, this is an entertaining book that will pass the time.
My title sums up the points of the story, if it were only that simple. Tania is assigned the job of bringing King Tyrant's taxes current. Only problem is, Tyrant is an Alien and she has to do his taxes on his spaceship. Because he's seven years overdue on his taxes, Tania has an almost impossible job to complete, along with all those back taxes, she's dealing with Alien language. Terrible is King Tyrant's second in command and responsible for acclimating Tania to the work she must do. Terrible does not like Tania, he doesn't like humans and he makes her life more difficult than it has to be. To understand her job better Tania needs more advanced Alien technology but being human, it needs to be installed rectally lol, that line just cracked me up! Tania gives in and allows the technology to be installed which does actually help her understand better. DICK insists they must have King Tyrant's taxes paid up or else, but Tania knows what she needs to do. Tyrant is taken by the little human and finds sex with her is his new obsession. Terrible does NOT like Tania and keeps causing her to get into trouble with Tyrant. There are dangerous Aliens called Mantids that are attracted to the human female, the trouble with DICK who is demanding their taxes, Terrible, and of course Tyrant that poor Tania has to put up with. The King and Tania have some really hot and steamy sex, the dangers are faced and in the end it's Tania that will make everything right in the new Alien world she finds herself in. This is another enjoyable romp in the world of Loki Renard's mind. I can't wait for more! I hope Terrible gets his comeuppance.
I can't even begin to express how much I loved this one. It's not often that a story will put a smile on my face on page one and keep it there until the end, but that's exactly what this one did. I'm not really surprised because Ms. Renard's alien stories are this brilliant blend of comedy and heat, but this is by far my favorite. I think part of that is the premise that there is a portion of the population that knows about aliens, and they are the accountants because humans are the only ones with the low enough intelligence to do taxes. I'm having a really hard time reviewing this because I hate spoilers, and I want readers to get introduced to the joy that is these characters on their own, but each character has some strange quirk that makes them exciting and loveable. Even Terrible, who really is what his name says. I do most of my reading in bed, after my husband goes to sleep because I suffer from insomnia, but I couldn't do that with this one because I found myself laughing out loud, and I couldn't contain myself. Even laughing into my pillow woke my husband up because I was shaking. The story isn't all laughs, though. There is a lot of heat and sexiness, too. The romance is both sweet and infuriating, and I loved all the steam. I loved the creativity with the character development as far as appearance and temperaments, and their imperfections that make them more believable and loveable. I loved the detail that goes into the world development and the fact that I can place myself in the setting so easily. I love that the steamy scenes aren't repetitive and the level of heat. Everything about it made me happy, and that's the thing I loved the most.
The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with only occasional typos and generally well constructed sentences. Hopefully the typos will be corrected in the retail version. The world building was a little psychedelic and nonsensical, but enjoyable if you can totally suspend disbelief. The characterization was quite good, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was rough and hot, with plenty of kink scenes. The heat level here was five chili peppers. The plot did not make any logical sense, but I enjoyed it despite that. The pacing was quite quick. This novel contained a medium amount of well justified angst and high stakes throughout, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Enemies to Lovers trope. The world building and plot were three stars. The pacing, characterization, and development of the romantic relationship were all four stars. I therefore rounded up and gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sci-fi romances with dark and BDSM elements. I am unsure if I will read the next book in this series when it releases. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

This phenomenal author gives us another crazy funny and super sexy alien romance story that kept me captivated and entertained throughout. I highly enjoyed this one and found myself laughing out loud quite a bit over Tania’s interactions with everyone.
“I once went to work thinking everybody was a purple dinosaur.” HAHA REALLY!!! Tania just throws things out there and makes us laugh with her quirkiness.
Tania is being tasked with preparing and filing taxes for alien King Tyrant, who is overdue in filing his taxes for the past 7 years. She is thrust into this being a complete skeptic and not believing in aliens to begin with. When the King shows up on her doorstep early in the morning, Tania’s world turns upside down. Her interactions with King Tyrant and his alien crew makes for one hilarious and highly entertaining story. She is sassy and smart and keeps King Tyrant on his toes, and she really catches on quick to the alien tax structure.
“Actually, there’s a ten percent levy on weeping from fallen enemies, which can be paid in wailing at the time the return is made.” “Bastards…They leave no avenue of satisfaction untouched. They seek to take through creeping regulation what I earned through honor, valor, and cruelty.”
Together King Tyrant and Tania make for one spicy, sexy couple who have an instant attraction and chemistry that oozed off the pages.
I absolutely loved this story. It was fun, it was sexy and I can’t wait for more.
Tania McMillan is an accountant and has been working from home during a pandemic. Her boss Mr. Rogers asks her to go on an off planet business trip for one of their alien accounts. She thinks he has slipped his bolt because she does not believe in aliens. King Tyrant knocks on her apartment door at 4am to bring her up to his ship. She is completely overwhelmed by him and his dominant personality. On the ship his assistant Terrible who has nothing but disdain for humans is in charge of setting up her work/living area. She accidentally hurts the ship and gets a spanking from Tyrant which turns into a hook up. She later needs to have a translation device inserted into her person so she can read the accounts. They end up falling in love, but she has to go back to Earth so the aliens can go back to war. She misses him terribly and lies to Tyrant to get brought back on the ship. She gets a public punishment for lying and gets impregnated. Terrible's story is next and I cannot wait to be was it.

This book is bonkers. It is an insane plot line and the purple prose with sex made me a bit uncomfortable with the descriptions. I finished it only out of curiosity but there are no words to describe the absurdity. Several reviewers mentioned the plot. I won't go into that but just know this is an oddball story. The protagonist really did gross me out. I spent the first 42% of the book wondering if she ever got cleaned. For some reason, their meet cute involved her looking like a nasty quarantine slob. She seriously reasoned that bathing, having crumbs on your body, and clothes with stains and smears, hair looking like a nest was perfectly normal. No ma'am, that's just nasty and that's the state she's in when meeting the "hero". Once again mating is described in the grossest language. What you think will happen doesn't. Items, places, situations are all described in shocking manner.
I’ve loved every book in this series, and it’s almost as if they’re each in competition to be my favorite. It’s a tough choice for sure. I love a strong heroine, but I especially love Tania because she’s so great at what she does. She’s brilliant and thorough, which sends her on an intergalactic work trip that ultimately seals her fate. I always enjoy this universe and learning about the kings and their worlds and the other entities that inhabit them and this is no exception. I guess I never thought aliens would have to pay their taxes too. Tania and Tyrant are quite the pair. This story is hot and delicious and absolutely hilarious. It’s par for the course for this excellent series and I highly recommend you start reading it immediately.
I LOVED this thought-provoking and witty Sci-fi tale!
This was the most perfectly illogical spoof on humanity that I've read in a long while! I started to listen to it as I lay trying to fend of the nausea of a migraine headache. Since I have found everything written by author Loki Renard an entertaining read, I had high hopes that THE ALIEN WARRIOR KING'S ACCOUNTANT (a strangely titled, but offered as a free read,) would hold to that expectation. Not only did it meet that expectation, it obliterated the pending migraine with endorphins, and keep my hubby and I in stitches for most of this morning. Never have I LAUGHED so continuously at tongue-in-cheek wordplay and not-so-subtle pokes at contemporary culture! Even if you're not really into romance or Sci-fi/alien tales, THE ALIEN WARRIOR KING'S ACCOUNTANT should be you're next book purchase! 😉
Tania cracks me up. She is working remote via COVID, I would figure. Since there is no need to go out, she hasn’t “kept up her grooming.” When she is given a job that is out of this world, literally. She actually thinks her boss lost a screw. But when Tyrant comes to collect her, things just get funny and steamy hot. Tyrant hasn’t done his taxes for a while and is backlogged. He needs Tania to do her best to get is fixed before they obliterate him. I laughed when I read who there taxes go to and it isn’t the IRS. Then of course you have his assistant or right hand if you will, Terrible. OMG this story is filled with jokes and steamy sex. I love it. Tania is so funny. But she definitely knows her stuff when it comes to taxes. She even has to learn all the tax laws for his kind which is a really interesting way to learn it. I agree with her, that had to be a better way but it was still funny. Terrible not liking human’s means, he gets a book. I wonder what human will change him.
So who does a warring Alien King with a tax problem call? King Tyrant has been busy with war so when he is forced to have his tax returns or face annihilation...he hires an accountant.. Tania McMillan is like most of us..going through a tough time, working from home, zoom meetings and personal care getting out of control so when her boss tells her she is going off planet...Tania suspects her boss is going crazy... This story is laugh out loud funny with accounting humour, acronyms, alerts and mind bending twists and hot steamy scenes as Tania and Tyrant find their way through the universal tax system.
This book is another great addition to the Royal Aliens series, this time featuring heroine Tania who has been tasked by her employer in getting Alien King Tyrants’ taxes in order. This was going to be quite an undertaking for Tania especially since she didn’t even know aliens existed! Spicy hot and hilarious the story was another twisted fun, play on words romp with wonderful characters, insta attraction, and hotter than lava love scenes. Great writing and storytelling had this reader totally enjoying the journey! HEA

Tania is working from home since the plague shut everything down. Her boss Zooms in to tell her she has been assigned an important Alien contract. Tania has no knowledge of aliens and believes her boss has made a mistake. At 4:30 am, King Tyrant arrives at her doorstep, ready to take her to his ship.
For me, this is an unusually interesting and exciting story. I felt totally intrigued by the interaction of Tania and King Tyrant. These are two totally different species, both fascinated by their differences, yet drawn together by their similarities. I definitely recommend this story.
4 1/2 ⭐️ This story had me laughing with Tania’s antics. She’s asked to head a special project by her boss, one that will not only get her out of her apartment where she’s been working remotely because of the pandemic, but will get her off the planet. When she opens her door and sees King Tyrant on her doorstep the reality of it all slams into her. Her boss wasn’t losing his marbles, aliens are real! Learning the first and don’t of alien protocol earns her a punishment or two which turns into something more. King Tyrant has to learn to accept his feelings for this little human and realize he has to multi task in order to keep her safe.
Tania is hired as a tax accountant to straighten out King Tyrant’s taxes that have not been paid in over five years which is a monumental task. I loved Tania as she says the first thing that comes into her head and sometimes it gets her into trouble. Tyrant has never has a use for romance until he meets Tania and he can’t seem to get his fill of her. Both are very strong characters and I loved reading their story. I would highly recommend this book I received a free copy of this book and are voluntarily leaving a review.
Don't do what I did with this book and read it in your lunch break. I kept laughing which I then had to explain to the others in my office. This book is just exactly my sense of humour. I loved it. The world, no the Universe is not controlled by warlords or warmongering aliens, noooooooooooo it is ruled by taxes. The king Tyrant calls for an accountant, a human accountant as their brains are ideally suited to number-crunching. Tania is sent out to his ship and from there the hilarity commences.

“I am Tyrant, King of Apocalypse. Ender of worlds. Destroyer of empires. And you… are my accountant.”
A fun, done in one Kindle Unlimited tax season quick read, with just enough 2020/Pandemic references to be fun and feel timely.
Tania loves numbers, and understanding the ins, and the outs, of the tax code. King Tyrant is a leader, a doer more concerned with what battle is next than making sure he filed taxes when the battle was over.
There was some fun dialogue, balanced with characters with different, yet recognizable perspectives that balanced each other.
Love it!!! Loki Renard can write anything and it will be awesomely great! This is a lively alien/accountant romance. Yes, accountants can be romantic. Definitely a different type story than I’m use to reading from Loki. Tania and Tyrant are working on his taxes and then the tax man comes collecting. She gets into trouble and she gets spanked and they have hot alien/accountant sex. If you have any triggers there is disciplining in this book. I love this story!
