Honestly? I'm an empty-nesting mom looking for fun and plenty of distraction. Don't let the Snap Chat filters fool you.
I love my husband. Good thing since we passed our 30 year anniversary years ago. I adore our inside kitty, Boo, and her opposite twin, Sweet Peanut, the feral beastie my husband and I are trying to tame. She has us SO wrapped and Boo knows it. She resents it, but that's another story. Poor prima kitty.
Meanwhile, I crave someone or something to control, most often when my thoughts are running like a psychotic command and control station with zero control. (Can you feel me? If not, please, have mercy. My condition is very real.) Sadly, my Special Teams Navy vet counterpart doesn't take orders anymore. Like he ever did. Neither do my home schooled kiddos who have all flown states away. Lucky them... and, no, I don't wonder why.
So, what's a girl to do?
Write. Reach out. And create ongoing fantasies of what could be, should be, and will be for endless characters who--if they're fussy--can be written out. Bwahahah. I prefer tagging these willful ones with a happily-ever-after. Post torture, naturally, and could use your help! With far more than writing... but I'll leave that up to you.
Beautifully adorable set of stories to read during some spare time
The Day We Met had me laughing and smiling from page one until the final page. Having cats myself, it grabbed my attention quick and I couldn't stop laughing (seriously though haha, one of my cats pawed at my mouth when I laughed cause it woke her up).
It's a very quick read but author Ash Keller did a lovely job!! She was able to put just the right amount of detail and emotion into the short story, that it didn't feel rushed but also didn't seem to be drawn out. I look forward to reading more by her.
Finding a Way Back was such a cute story. I have always enjoyed stories of people finding each other again after years, they just never fail to make me smile. Jane Kingsley did a lovely job getting your attention quick and keeping it real with having great details for a short story.
St. Patty's Date made me so happy from page one. I have always been a favorite of books with Irish tones to them. It was a fast pace story with all of the St. Patrick's and March vibes, perfect reading for me today since it's March 1. While at times I had trouble focusing on what was going on, it was a fun quick read.
Crushing on the Bad Boy was probably my favorite out of the set. Growing up I dreamed to be a wedding planner and even had binders filled with weddings I pretended to be planning. This story helped bring back so many beautiful memories. I loved how easily it flowed and it didn't seem rushed. It had great characters, great storyline, and again I loved the theme of meeting again after a long time.
I highly reccomend reading this book of short stories, you'll be able to likely read it anywhere at anytime, even if you only have 30 minutes, you'll be able to get through a story or two. So if you love sweet romance, fun characters, animals, and dreaming of places to be, go get this now, you won't regret it! It will be a fun one to read many times when I need a good laugh and smile.
I reviewed "The Day We Met" by Ash Keller. I am voluntarily leaving this review after recieving an ARC from BookSprout.
This is a swoonworthy short by Ash Keller. I love reading anything Ms. Keller writes as she does a fantastic job mixing the humor and the romance. This short story is no different. I fell in love with both characters and their sweet romance, but also laughed at the antics that led them to their Happily Ever After. Superb writing because lets be honest, I couldn't put it down! Highly reccomend!
I enjoyed "Crushing on the bad boy" by Heather Scarlett. It was a fun, entertaining read. And a new author for me. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Part of the Clean Coffee Break Romances series the story I have read is called St. Patty's Date by Ann Malley. Patty Sullivan the chief of police daughter and motorcycle cop, and single dad Marc Lorenzano's story of an older man/younger woman. I enjoyed seeing this story come together.
This is a review of "The Day we Met". This is a cute short story about how a cat named Dal brings together a wanna-be television newscaster and a fireman. It is a laugh out loud story for me that brought tears to my eyes in a few places. I've already read it twice and will save it for another day.
Below are TWO reviews to give you an idea of what you’ll find in this limited collection of standalone, HEA/HFN one-hour romance stories. Titles included are:
♥ THE DAY WE MET by Ash Keller ♥ FINDING A WAY BACK by Jayne Kingsley ♥ ST. PATTY’S DATE by Ann Malley ♥ CRUSHING ON THE BAD BOY by Heather Scarlett
*** Reviewing “THE DAY WE MET” by Ash Keller *** Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Chuck is excited that he has finally made it as a firefighter/EMT. Growing up, he staged Matchbox car accidents so he could put out the fires. He practiced first-aid on the dog – she was fine when they got her unwrapped from the gauze. Even his sister’s dolls survived the CPR, though none walked away when he finished. So ready for REAL action now, he is called to rescue a cat from a tree. After two hours, he’s wondering if he should just throw in the towel. (Those of us with cats will never judge him… we fully understand his frustration.)
This starts an acquaintance with Alli O'Malley which he will never forget! And she may be more frustrating than the cat!
*** Reviewing “ST. PATTY'S DATE” by Ann Malley *** Patty Sullivan has overbearing Sheriff dad, so in a small town in rural Virginia, it makes dating kind of difficult. So when the new motorcycle cop, Marc Lorenzano, comes to town and pulls Patty over, she begins to hope that he’ll write her up, remove her “untouchable” status, and enable her to become datable at last!
But as Marc looks at the smiling leprechaun he sees when he looks at Patty in her green truck, the single dad is wondering if this might be the woman his deceased Irish wife predicted would come into his life? He wasn’t looking for love – but he may have no choice about this!
These are cute, short, fun stories to fill in the times in between life’s busy moments with something wonderful! Grab your copy and enjoy the stories these authors have shared with us.
The Day We Met by Ash Keller Short and sweet, this is the perfect story to indulge in when you need a little pick-me-up. Ms. Keller has a wonderful way of combining romance and humor and a whole lot of fun. Chuck and Alli are simply adorable together and I loved their fun and witty dialogue. Their story will have you smiling and laughing and definitely lift your spirits if you're having a bad day. A really cute story - loved it!
Crushing on the Bad Boy by Heather Scarlett Another wonderful read in this sweet collection. Great to read when you only have a quick 30 minutes and just want to relax for a bit. Although a short read, Ms. Scarlett did a great job of creating relatable and realistic characters and bringing the story to life. Emma and Tyler were wonderful, fun characters and had amazing chemistry which was evident from the start. I love how Emma got to see another side of Tyler, aside from his bad boy reputation. Wonderful, fun short story you are sure to love!

Chuck has just joined the fire department. His first job is to get a cat out of a tree. Alli a concerned citizen called it in. They meet again when Alli goes to interview Chuck and Dal.
Short sweet romance. I thought the story was cute and didn’t take long to read. Ash Keller takes us through all that happens to Alli and Chuck. You can’t help but turn the pages to find out the end.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
(I received an ARC from StoryOrigin but the thoughts and opinions are my own) You know those shorts they show on Netflix? Or during commercial breaks? They are just a few minutes but they fill you up because they are always silly and entertaining? That's like this book. It's very short and sweet. There isn't much for development or history but it has just enough chemistry, a sweet instagram post and a stray animal to get you invested. I definitely recommend.
A fun, sassy, engaging, and eclectic collection of stories to warm your heart.

Review for The day we met: This short story was my first read from this author. I absolutely loved the first person point of view which is always a deal breaker for me. This was a quick read and Chuck, the hero, made me laugh.

I really enjoyed this nice short novel. It is super sweet. There are a ton of tender moments between each of the characters. I loved the sweet moments between them. There was also a great amount of chemistry which was awesome.

I found this sweet short story perfect for a lunch break or a commute, I read it in 45 minutes. It's light, funny and romantic and I liked the characters Alli, Chuck, the cat Dal mainly but Lucy and Alex also, I got their story from the link at the end and also enjoyed it very much.
"St. Patty's Date" by Ann Malley
Is the second one I read in the Spring in to Love short stories anthology, and I liked so much also that I bought it, and also because it supports a great cause. This story is sweet and sassy, clean and romantic. I recommend it.

This eclectic collection of short stories was a treat! The first story, the Day We Met by Ash Keller, had me laughing so hard I cried! I haven't had an endorphin release like that for a long time! I highly recommend these stories.
This is a review for The Day We Met by Ash Keller. This is the sweet romance of Alli and Chuck. While this is a quick read it is heartwarming and had me smiling. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A sweet lovable young woman finds love when she least expects it. This was an enjoyable book and I loved how the author crafted just enough drama between them and the rest of the story to give that little boost of energy to make it a fun and enjoyable read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I read The Day We Met by Ash Keller as an ARC read & review arrangement.
This would be a great story to fill an afternoon commute or an evening read when you need to de-stress. I finished it in just about an hour.It leaves you with a smile on your face long after the giggles have finally died down.

Very short and sweet story of a true love meeting between two people just starting out in their adult lives. Fast forward five years to their second meeting.
While this was a cute story that brought a smile to my face, it was so short that it didn't have enough time to develop the relationship between the couple. It was a little too short-leaving me feeling like I must have missed something. A little more development/expansion of their relationship would have gotten the book another star in my rating.
I was given a copy of "THE DAY WE MET" by Ash Keller for an unbiased review, and it is the only story of this collection that I have read.
This was a cute short clean romcom. Made me laugh out loud and cringe in embarrassment for the main character. A perfect escape when you only a short amount of time!
I received an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own.
The day we met How saving a cat from falling of a tree marked a couple´s life and sealed their future. An easy to read and funny short story that´s above all entertaining!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
St. Patty's Date by Ann Malley. This would have been so much better if the author didn’t try to be cute with her writing. It was so hard to follow that pages and pages in I still didn’t know what was going on. Why couldn’t the author just write a straight story instead of trying to be cute and funny. Funny it wasn’t when the reader can’t even follow the story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Only St. Patty’s Date. Way too short. And there was no date. Good characterization but the interaction seems choppy. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
