This book has such a unique storyline stemming from the childhood of a very misunderstood teen girl who was emotionally tormented by many people including her own mother and step mother. The book is written in two timelines of past and present which I really like. The only thing I would change about this book is that I wish we got to see more of jades power in the present but I understand why we didn’t - because we didn’t really know about it until the end. I would LOVE to read a book about Jade and Declan’s decision to bring everything to light!

Declan reminded me soooo much of Will from criminal minds! Especially if you listen to the audiobook - his accent hits lol so cute! Declan and Mase were probably my favorite characters. I love how protective Mase is of Jade even though they aren’t blood related. I love love love the concept of your chosen family and that family isn’t always blood ❤️

This book has a unique storyline. The book is suspenseful, a mystery, and paranormal. Jade is a misunderstood individual who had a difficult youth. She disappears and the two people she can trust ask for the assistance of crime reporter, Declan Burke. Declan hits my barriers and worries ge can't find her time. The ultimate question is answered at the end.

This is a new to me author and narrator. The book was excellent. Mr. Sweeney did a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life.

Declan is awesome, Jade is awesome, this book is awesome! Highly recommend for any mystery reader or anyone who wants to get into mystery books. Definitely kept you guessing and wondering what would happen, Portia was such an evil woman , Lindy was definitely messed up so poor Jade having to endure so much trauma from mothers in her life ! I always enjoy how Shannon makes her characters realistic and easy to sympathize with. Her storytelling is fun and exciting!
